Authentic old-school Texas barbecue, no-frills decor but fantastic service and great food and beer selection. I don't understand the negative reviews here. As a former Austin resident, and now Amarillo, I haven't found any place better in Texas than here. Bicycle friendly, too, which is more than I can say for a lot of restaurants in the Panhandle. I'll definitely be back to try everything on the menu. This first time I had a brisket sandwich and the best macaroni and cheese I've ever had, along with a good Colorado beer.
Heading back to CA…My daughter wanted to try the Texan Brisket. No regrets! Good was delicious. We originally ordered ahead of time for takeout. However, do to the welcome atmosphere we decided to dine in. Reasonable prices for the quality of food you get. Highly recommended!
If you like BBQ... You ABSOLUTELY need to try this place!! That was some of the tenderest meats I've ever had!! They even have calf fries (now THAT'S TEXAS 😉) And the Pecan Cobbler 😲🤯🤤🤤🤤 I have to say this was one of the best places I've ever been!! If you are in Amarillo or just passing through, you MUST try this place! It's off the beaten path and as a local told me... "It's a little dive bar with the most amazing BBQ"
This place is a Hidden Gem in Amarillo. The BEST Beef Brisket in the Texas Panhandle, and perhaps the entire state of Texas. It is perfectly cooked and melt in your mouth Delicious! The Pulled Pork is awesome, and so are the BBQ sauces. Highly Recommend and will Definitely come back again. BRAVO!!
This place is a hidden gem, located a short drive from Amarillo. Food was excellent as was the service! My husband and I tried the burnt ends (BEST we have ever had), turkey, green chili hominy and the Brisky Mac Frito Pie…which was to die for! This place has a very cool ambience, both inside as well as outside in the covered seating area. We went near closing and the owner took the time to sit and chat with us and explained the history of the building (definitely worth hearing!) and local attractions. We’ll definitely be stopping in again the next time we pass through Amarillo, hopefully on a Friday night so that we can listen to the live band!
I did not know what to expect, but I was no let down. We had BRISKET chile. We also had some macaroni, coleslaw, and the potato salad. Everything came with pickled onions and pickles. Now the brisket was good, I ain't gon hold you. It was a little dry, definitely not the best I've had in my life, but the sauces were good and the overall meal was good. They even made us fresh mac n cheese. I liked it, didn't love it. I'd eat every dish again for sure, may I'd try the burnt ends or the chopped brisket instead of slices. Now... what really did me in was the dessert. They made this fried cheesecake that is easily in my top 10 world dessert. it was warm and had almost a cottage cheese type texture/consistency, with some honey on top. ooooooh it was so good. if it had a little citrus or may some fresh fruit, that would take it from A to A+. There was also live music and an outdoor patio area. Shoutout to Ashton who recc'd the cheesecake over the bread pudding. PAY ASHTON MORE!!!
Hands down the best BBQ joint in Texas! From the moment you step in, you're greeted with that unmistakable aroma of smoky goodness. The brisket was out of this world—perfectly smoked, incredibly juicy, and fork-tender. Each bite was like a flavor explosion! The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender, with just the right amount of seasoning. And let's talk about the sides—creamy mac and cheese, delicious coleslaw, and a unique green chili hominy that complemented the meats beautifully. The service was friendly and quick, adding to the overall fantastic experience. If you're looking for excellence BBQ that will leave you dreaming about your next visit, look no further than this gem of a place!
Some of the best BBQ I've ever had. Original homemade sides. We got the Texas Charcuterie so we could try all the meats. Even the turkey was juicy and flavorful. Deserts were wonderful too.
Hidden goldmine! Was looking for a place near our night stay in hotel off Rt 335 & I-40, read reviews and decided to come! Beautiful night (in Aug.) so we were able to sit outside to listen to the live music- ( Mackenzie & Cole) awesome! Service was absolutely 5 star, everyone so friendly. Food really good, Mac & Cheese awesome, brisket so tender and not full of fat, rolls super fresh. We split a sandwich & 2 sides, more than enough for 2 of us. Only comment - replace picnic tables! Will be back when we get the chance ❤️
Some amazing BBQ. Had the Brisket, Pork and calf fries. All great. Pinto beans and Okra for our sides. I would highly recommend this place. Fully stocked bar and super friendly staff. 10 stars if available.

Great roadside barbeque!! Nice natural smoke flavor. We had the brisket, turkey, ribs and the cole slaw and potato salad which were homemade. Served with a side of pickles and pickeled onions.
Stopped here for lunch on a cross-country road trip. BBQ was delicious, really great brisket and ribs! Service was wonderful, helpful, and kind. Would definitely recommend for anyone in the area.
The best experience ever! We saw the reviews and had to try it! We had ribs and the brisket, they were both so delicious! Words cannot describe how good it really was. Denny was so great! He prepared a box to go for us. We had real Texas brisket and true hospitality! It is a must try!! We will be back next time we are in Amarillo!! Denny, thank you very much from the NYC travelers!!
My family and I were on a road trip driving through Texas and we were looking for real Texas BBQ. Admittedly, we're not the expert in real Texas BBQ, but we read the reviews of this place and decided we had to stop. Bo oh boy, am I glad we found this place!! Everything, and I mean everything, we had was out of this world delicious. The mac and cheese was by far the biggest surprise, as it was full of flavor!! 10/10 recommend this place for anyone traveling through.
Best in town. We drove over just for this place and have lunch. They won 1st place for ribs 2025 barbeque annual event. I plan to attend the 2026. I think it happens in Aug.. We also purchased 2 racks of ribs to freezer and eat as we want.

We had an incredible experience at Pork N Things — hands down one of the best BBQ joints we've ever been to! The staff was warm, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care that we had a great time. Everything was packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. The brisket was melt-in-your-mouth tender, the ribs had that perfect fall-off-the-bone texture, and the sausage was juicy and seasoned just right. The sides were just as impressive — creamy mac and cheese, tangy coleslaw, and okra fried to perfection. The portions were generous, the prices were reasonable, and the entire atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. Whether you're a BBQ aficionado or just hungry for something delicious, Pork N Things is absolutely worth a visit. Highly recommend — I’ll definitely be back!
Please follow us on Facebook and Instagram at SNDTRAVELS and EATWELLTRAVELOFTEN 3.9.25 lunch Talk about off the beaten path, this place is off by itself and was a little ify on the look, but sometimes that's where you find the good stuff. Tried the brisket (1/4 lb) and the ribs (3) ala carte. All the meat was tender and juicy. The ribs were fall off the bone. The sauce was good and the young lady's taking the orders were friendly and helpful. More of an old bar feel than a restaurant but I would definitely try it again. Recommended 👍

This is about as authentic a BBQ joint as you can hope for. Food was good but not hot so 4/5 stars. You order at the counter they bring it out. Full bar available. Clean but dark. Worth the drive
Probably some of best brisket I ever had. Tender, juicy --just right amount of fat. Wasnt a fan of the potato salad or the ribs. Ribs were tender, falling of the bone but something about the cook/seasoning.

Thought I would try this barbecue place for the first time as I was headed back to California. First of all it's located not to far off Interstate 40 exit 77 in Amarillo,Texas. The restaurant is in an older building that's half bar and half restaurant. There is no separation wall between the two it wasn't noisy when I went rather laid back. I ordered half rack of pork ribs they were delicious and huge they will cost you $18.95. The ribs were lukewarm at best it was like they were sitting in the oven or a warmer, wish they would have been hotter. Ordered 2 sides a salad cost $5.00 and beans for $3.50 they come in very small containers a bit expensive in my opinion(see photos) I will say the beans were delicious and the salad very fresh. You place your order then they deliver the food to your table. They have delicious barbecue sauce and plenty of other condiments. (Their menu is available on their website)
We had such high hopes for good Texas BBQ on our way through Amarillo. This was not that - place is dirty, flies everywhere. They were out of half their menu. The burger and brisket were both way overcooked and dry. The salad was sad. Husband said the sausage and mac n cheese were good so I'm giving a 3, graciously. Too bad we drove through on a Sunday when so many better options were closed.

Usually, the way a place looks outside can be a surprise on the inside, nope, not this place. It is what you expect. Run down outside and run down inside. Food was a reflection of the establishment. I've had Texas barbecue all over the state, and this would rate very low on my overall experience for Texas barbecue. My son and I both had pulled pork, and it was better than Buc-cees. The fries were somewhat sweet, and mac n cheese was not worth trying. No fountain drinks, just an overpriced bottle of coke. It was very expensive for what it was. I wouldn't waste my time or money here. There are plenty of other places in Amarillo.
