After a fun day at Disneyland, I stopped by this Thai restaurant, and it was amazing! I love Thai food, and this place did not disappoint. I tried the Kao Mun Gai and Panang Curry, Wings, and they were so delicious—just like when I visited Thailand in January 2024. The service was great too. Junior, our server, was super friendly and made sure everything was perfect. I highly recommend this place if you want tasty Thai food and excellent service. Whether you love Thai food or are trying it for the first time, you’ll really enjoy it here.

Tucked away in a quiet corner, this family owned restaurant is a gem of a find. We were celebrating my mother's 80th birthday with a special dinner. And it turned out to be really awesome with everybody walking away with smiles from ear to ear! The 1 star less for food was for the Spicy Fried Rice. We ordered medium spice level but it came out slightly more than what we expected. Everything else was spot on! We will come back surely, I will highly recommend this place. Awesome food!

This is likely one of the best restaurants I've visited recently. First of all, the service! Every staff member was super friendly. They treated us like their good friends. They answered questions about the menu in a professional way with humor. They shared stories about the restaurant and how their menu was developed. I enjoyed conversation with every one of them. The food was delicious! We ordered the signature chicken combo (light version) and the drunken noodle. They taste different from the traditional Hainan chicken rice and drunken noodles that I used to know but they are delicious with Lucky Gai's own twists. The drunken noodle was pretty spicy despite the fact that we ordered mild. If you can't really eat spicy food, this is probably not for you. We sat at one of the tables outdoors. It wasn't too hot on the day we visited. I liked their tables and benches. I would like to try indoor seating next time because the atmosphere of the restaurant is something I do like. Last but not least, the price!! The combo chicken light is less than $10!! We paid about $26 including tips for the dinner for two (just meals, no drinks). With the level of services and the food quality that they provide, this price is unbeatable in SoCal! Definitely recommended! I will go back for sure because there are so many other dishes I'd like to try!

I love it here. Is the train close by and loud? Yes. Can you hear it from inside? No. Is the food delicious? Yes. It's the easiest reason to give this place a try. The staff is friendly and quick. Try the tiger steak to start. Sit outside with the plants. Take in the neon and occasional Disney soundtrack for the kids. It's a fun place for all. Definitely on my placentia must visits.

I specifically came here for the Hainanese chicken with a Thai twist. It is literally so good 😩 it felt like I was back home in my country. The food is delicious and made with love. The sauces are literally so disgustingly exquisite. Ryan, the white guy, was super hilarious. He was so humble about the chicken but I literally inhaled that thing. Hainanese chicken with a THAI twist.

First time here and I was really impressed. The small plates are perfect for dining solo. The rice was soft and fluffy, the tea was fragrant, and the chicken was juicy. The Thai milk tea tasted authentic as well.

You absolutely have to try the Crying Fox and the Going Nuts. The textures and flavors are absolutely divine! Perfect crisp on the fried tofu! Well calibrated levels of spiciness. Great service and friendly owners! This place is a must try!

The is the BEST place in OC for authentic thai dishes and thai street food. Everything is so fresh and flavor filled, love coming here with my family! The atmosphere is so cute and calming and the employees are so funny and kind. Their poached and fried chicken (not pictured) are also to die for!!!! Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a quick bite or a casual sit down place to eat. OMFG EAT HERE!!! THE DRINKS are amazing. The FOOD is so good!!! I can't wait to come back to CA and eat here, again. We had a surprise party for my mom and the owners were so welcoming, wonderful, silly and above all kind!

Today, I was in the mood for something/someplace different. This was my first time to Luck Gai Cafe, and it did not disappoint :-)! The food portions were perfect, I got the "Light" Hainan (poached) Chicken & Rice plate along with a side of their Pork Dumplings (6 pieces) as a to-go order. As a side note, their take-away boxes are the cutest and coolest I have ever seen in a long while. The Ginger-Soybean Sauce that was included with the Chicken & Rice paired very well, and you must include their chili paste with your meal, really good and spicy, just right balance of flavor and kick. I will be going back to try their Foxy Kiss and Drunken Noodle dishes - hoping to have some of my friends join me so we can get different dishes and mix-and-match :-)!

This is an awesome little gem that is somewhat hidden, but definitely worth finding The prices are great. The portion is great. It’s very family, friendly and very traditional Thai food hands-down better than any other Thai place I’ve been to.

We loved this hidden little place for the service, the food and the friendly staff!! We ordered some appetizers to go and they were hot and delicious. Got the coconut shrimp and egg rolls. Did not disappoint. Can’t wait to try something new next time. Nice outdoor seating too. Hard to find but worth the search!

Lovely lunch on the outdoor patio. Food was amazing, got the mighty duo! Great sauces and excellent service.

We had the Tom Yum noodles, steak appetizer, Thai ice tea and the coconut slushee. It was delicious and definitely flavorful. It’s quite different than most Thai flavors: it was sweet, spicy and dense in lemongrass goodness. We will definitely come back.

Hidden Gem!! My friend and I met here for lunch and loved everything about our visit. We got a table outside in the shade and the server came take our orders. The many has a lot of variety and so many things to choose from. We ordered the crab rangoon, the shrimp tempura, and spicy yellow curry. Everything had a lot of flavor and medium curry was not really spicy. The service was great and the prices are fair. We are looking forward to trying other items next time!

Short review = If you like good flavorful food, fair prices. good portion sizes and friendly service, give Luck Gai a try. Ambiance: It is a smaller place w. about equal indoor and outdoor seating. I estimate maybe 40-50 patrons total. All open spaces (no dividers btwn. tables) and it feels very casual, would be kid friendly. Service: I have so many compliments, but ill try to keep this short. Went for lunch with a few co-workers / friends of mine @ about 1:15 pm on a Wednesday. We were very quickly greeted and told to grab a seat wherever we would like, which I personally liked. I would say between outside and inside patrons they were @ about 50% capacity. We only have a 1 hr. lunch and she (owner / server) was able to take our orders, feed us and she even was willing to separate our checks for us and got us back to work on-time. And she did so happily, made me feel comfortable as though I was a regular even though this was my first and their second visits there. Food: They all got some form of the Pad Thai and I got the Chicken "Foxy Kiss". They seemed to like their food as they all ate it all despite the large amount of food for a lunch serving. My meal was better than I expected. Ordered "mild" and it was perfect for me, just a touch of heat and moderate garlic flavor. It reminded me of a dish I used to get at another Thai place called "spicy garlic chicken" which is exactly what this tasted like, but this was more savory and I the way the chicken was finely chopped allowing the flavors to really pop. The food looks exactly as pictured in the menu and online. They provide an iced water carafe @ the table and some cool little metal insulated metal tumblers which I thought was nice. I look forward to trying other menu items in the future.

First time here and it was hands down the best thai place I have ever been to in the Anaheim area. My boyfriend and I ordered panang curry and pad see ew and there was nothing left after. It was rich in flavor and really affordable considering it’s amazing quality. Highly recommend this place to everyone!

Right after doing a group cookie decorating class next door (at the Cookie Studio/Grunderfully Delicious), our large group came to Luck Gai for lunch. It was a great lunch choice - not just because it was conveniently located but because of the great accommodations for our group. We sat outside and noted they made great use of their corner space. There was plenty of seating available inside as well - with a very steady flow of patrons dining in and out. All the items we ordered were delicious: green curry, drunken noodle, tom yum noodle, chicken satay, dumplings. I would definitely get the green curry again. It's in a slightly hidden location but there is ample parking and delicious food! The service was great too.

The service was excellent. I sat with a group that was very picky and demanding, so much so that even I was annoyed of them. The staff was polite and saves them to the best of her ability. The food was reasonably priced and gave you a good amount! I was super full by the end of it! Great food!

Been here but decided to give a shout out to this place. Food was great. We ordered the PadKee Mao chicken, crab fried rice, spicy edamame (starter) and the mighty combo hainan chicken. The pad kee mao was full of flavor and medium spice was the right amount of spice for us. Hainan chicken came with all the diff sauces on the side in a squeeze bottle which was nice, no need to worry about others double dipping. Crab fried rice was really good and it had the wok flavor. Definitely need to cone here more often.

No need to roll the dice if you dine at Luck Gai Cafe! Setting: Cute fox-themed decorations with cool wood furniture. Though the inside is not huge (maybe 8 to 10 small tables), there is additional outdoor seating. Note: The restaurant is not visible from the street. It's tucked away at the end of a weird-shaped strip mall beside some train tracks. GPS will be your friend. Food: We ordered the Hainan chicken combo and the khao soi. My wife got the latter dish, a yellow curry coconut noodle soup. It's not too common in most Thai restaurants in the USA, so we haven't had it a ton. But the Luck Gai Cafe version was fantastic. It was not quite a soup but not really a dry noodle -- a sort of wet, creamy in-between -- and totally worth it. I was hesitant to get the Hainan chicken because my grandfather was from Hainan and I grew up eating his amazing Hainanese chicken and rice dish (hard to beat homemade!). But since this was a signature dish, I had to try it to compare. So glad I did! Obviously this is the Thai interpretation, so it didn't quite taste the same, but it was still yummy in its own right. I got the combo, which has both the fried chicken (nice crispy Asian batter) and the poached chicken (tender and juicy). The only knock against it was that the rice was a little bland -- authentic Hainanese rice packs a punch of garlic, ginger, and chicken broth. Still, I enjoyed the whole combo. Service: This is probably the best part of Luck Gai Cafe. The staff here is so attentive and efficient. Plus they're so kind and friendly -- as an Asian growing up eating at Asian restaurants, I know that's a rarity. Overall: Aside from some minor quibbles, I thoroughly enjoyed my time and food at Luck Gai Cafe. While my true rating is 4.5 out of 5, since I can't give half stars, I'm happy to round up to 5 out of 5. I'm looking forward to returning.

Best Thai food! The owner and staff were fun and engaging! I live over 80 miles from this location....and I will be back!! Yellow curry was fantastic - all the food was delicious - and try the Adult Galaxy honey lemonade - so good! 2/14/25 updare - this was our 3rd time....and still holding strong with the delicious food and great customer service! We come from San Diego to eat here - and never disappointed!

Checked out Luck Gai Cafe recently super chill vibe and the food did not disappoint. The Khao Soi (yellow curry noodle) was fire, super flavorful and rich. We got the beef option which was an extra $2, but worth it. They also hooked us up with a free whole coconut which was a nice touch. The Pad See Ew hit the spot solid flavor and not too greasy. And the Hainan Combo Plate (with both fried and poached chicken) came with a bunch of sauce options which made it stand out. Definitely a unique touch. Prices were fair for the quality. Overall, solid spot if you’re into Thai comfort food. Would come back.

The light combo kow mun gai did not disappoint! Unsurprisingly, I preferred the fried chicken to the poached chicken, but both were great and I enjoyed having both on the plate. The poached chicken paired really well with the garlic and ginger sauce, and the fried chicken tasted best with the sweet and sour. The flavored rice was a nice touch and the cucumber with carrot is refreshing. Service was great and the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. Also I think pricing is very fair considering the variety and quality of food you’re getting.

Our Yelp search took us here on a Fridate. Started off with mild papaya salad that prepared our palate for more Thai goodness. Loved the creamy seafood tom kha and it went so well with the huge serving of house chicken fried rice. We specifically ordered mild on all the dishes and everything came out delicious!!! My husband thoroughly enjoyed their popular “mighty fried chicken” which is a chicken katsu spin: so tasty he didn’t need to add any sauce to it. Wrapped up this fantastic dinner with butterfly pea sticky rice with mango, lychee martini and Thai tea. Service is fast and friendly. Mindy is such a nice host, making the rounds to ensure the customers are having a nice meal. We will certainly return to try their noodles and panang curry! The resto got very busy around 6pm so come early. We noticed too that there was quite a lot of take out/pick up activity. For more food/travel on IG: @i_therefore_conclude

Excellent food! Comparable to what I have had in Thailand, rather than an Americanized version. Service was great. Good food, good people - can't do better than that. My Thai comfort food is Pad See Eew and Luck Gai's was awesome. Will definitely be back even though it's nowhere near where I live.

The service here is super nice! We got the Kow Mun Gai Mighty Combo, and it did not disappoint. The Hainan chicken was juicy, the fried chicken was perfectly crispy, and they even added some extra crispy flakes for those who love that extra crunch. We also got a free order of 4 veggie egg rolls for reviewing them on Google, and they were delicious (tbh). There are four different sauces, and our favorite was the sweet and sour one - it pairs perfectly with both the egg rolls and the fried chicken.

Luck Gai Cafe is a fantastic spot for Thai food! The dishes were flavorful, fresh, and perfectly cooked, with a great variety to choose from. The boba was excellent—smooth, well-balanced, and not overly sweet, easily one of the highlights of the visit. On top of that, the service was excellent: the staff was welcoming, attentive, and made us feel right at home. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, making it a great place for a casual meal or a relaxed night out. I’ll definitely be coming back and highly recommend giving this place a try!

Has an interesting ambiance for a location inside a strip mall. Everyone says the mighty combo. It's good, but the fried chicken is better tbh. I'd stick with that than the combo. The pad see ew, was par but not extraordinary. But the fox kiss, outshined as well.

We stopped here for a bite on our drive. We ordered the beef drunken noodles and pad gra pow (Thai basil chicken). Everything had good flavor and great presentation but the beef was a bit chewy and way too many bell peppers. The sauce on both dishes was too oily/greasy. The place is nice and the staff and service was good. Also ordered Earl Grey and Lemon Ginger teas. Both were from Stash and very good. They bring you a large teapot which was nice.

Panang curry is great and goes well with everything! Had the Hainan poached chicken and fried chicken (a little too much batter imo) and both have great flavors and sauces to go with. Also ordered the chicken satay, could be more flavorful and it’s a little on the dry side, this I probably won’t order again. Tom Kha soup is good, lots of protein which I’m amazed!

basically: food is great and it's why i keep coming back. service is the reason i usually come back a few weeks apart until i get a hunger for it again. I agree with another comment that their chicken is bland for Hainan chicken, but it's moist and still mildly fragrant. With the sauce that it comes with, it's delicious. service though... I work nearby so I could visit weekly, but i don't because their Takeout service regularly sucks. when i use their online system, i get curbside about 40% of the time even when i use the text alert to notify them i'm there before i even turn into the plaza. the rest of the time, i have to go in. when i go in, my food is ready on time about 60% of the time. one time, it had none of my additional requests (utensils, sauce, napkins). another time, it was nearly 10 minutes late. today, i ordered it at 11:54 for 12:30 pick up, curbside. more than enough time since their ASAP said 20 minutes. i decided not to bother waiting in my car and went straight in. not only is my food not ready, the kitchen hasn't even started it. they didn't even know the order existed. the lady at the front had to give them my order. i have 30 minutes for lunch. i want to come here because it's a 5 minute drive and i can get there and back with time to eat. they make it impossible most of the time and i have to eat at my desk. their food is a great lunch option for the area though, so i will keep coming and that's why they only lose a star for the service.

The food is decent. It's a lovely, small restaurant. The downside is that too many to-go orders resulted in a slow arrival time for our dishes.

This place is really hidden and newly open. Husband and wife place. Interacted with the husband and he's so nice! For me the Pad se ew was different. I'm not used to wet pad see ew, not my favorite style. Now the Hainan fried chicken was tasty. The crab Rangoon was tasty. I will go back and try the other dishes for sure.

I recently ordered pad see ew from this restaurant and while it looked like the classic dish, it unexpectedly tasted like curry. It seemed like the flavors from other dishes, especially curry, might have mixed in during cooking. My partner and I were a bit disappointed because we were craving the traditional pad see ew flavor, and this wasn’t what we expected. I understand kitchens can get busy, but it would be great if they could be more careful with cross-contamination, especially since many of their dishes include strong curry flavors. Overall, I appreciate their menu variety and look forward to trying other dishes, but I hope they pay more attention to keeping flavors separate in the future.

I’ve been here twice now. Their speciality is their Thai style Hainan chicken, which I got my first time here. Objectively it was fine, but just not to my taste because I’m too used to regular Hainan chicken. I also didn’t like the cream cheese rangoons - I think the flour was undercooked or something because it has a strange texture and kept getting stuck in the crevices of my teeth (not like between my teeth, but like the indent part on top). I did like the Thai tea though. Anyways, I decided to withhold judgment and give them another visit since maybe they were just having a bad day. This time, I decided to get Pad Thai instead since I didn’t like the chicken rice last time. It started off better - the chicken satay was very good. The egg rolls were ok, but they did come out piping hot. I just wasn’t too big of a fan of the filling. My entree did take longer to come out than it should’ve. I thought service was slow on my first visit as well. Maybe it’s because the restaurant is a bit small - it definitely does lean on the cozier side. Our server (who I also think is the general manager) took full responsibility and gave us a generous discount for our troubles - which I appreciated. I could’ve maybe done with maybe like 75% less dad jokes since I was already getting kinda irritated that my food was taking long. Like 1 dad joke I can awkwardly chuckle and fake smile at, but it just gets to a point where it’s too much. When the Pad Thai finally did come out, it was pretty good though. A little on the sweet side, which might turn some people off, but I liked it. All in all, my experience here has been kinda iffy so far. But the prices are very fair and they have weekday specials. Mondays in particular have pretty good deals. I personally wouldn’t come back by choice, but my coworker likes it here so I feel like I’m going to keep getting dragged back.

I'll start by saying I am pretty disappointed to be writing this review, as the first time I ordered from this place I LOVED it. I have ordered from here 3 times now, all through UberEats. The first time - really good - was certain I'd found my go-to Thai spot. The second time - the food wasn't as good, had some not great cuts of meat and the flavors were more bland, but not terrible. The third and most recent time (1/11/26)- I'll never order from here again. For this order, we ordered the drunken noodles, panang curry, thom kha soup, edamame, and papaya salad. The flavors were all fine, however, the portion I was given of the papaya salad was almost laughable. I've ordered this dish twice before and never had a second thought about the portion size. This time, not even half the container was full and it did not look fresh. I'll attach a photo for reference - this is how it looked straight after opening it, untouched. It certainly was not $14 worth of salad. I contacted UberEats support to see if I could have this item refunded, and they said the restaurant gets to determine portion sizes, so it couldn't be refunded. Fine, I let it go. Then, today (1/13/26), I go to finish the leftover drunken noodles we hadn't finished, and I find a maggot in the food. Photo also attached. UberEats has now refunded me the entire order, which I am content with, but I won't be placing another order here. Hopefully the restaurant can work on their quality control, because I would have been a loyal customer had the quality and portions been consistent.

I ordered online to avoid waiting, but when I showed up my order wasn’t ready. The food is great, but the wait times are ridiculous. It’s stupid to give a pickup time if you can’t meet it — total waste of my time.

Got a to go order on 9/24/25. I ordered a pad thai and found an egg shell in it. I probably ate some of it and didn't know before finding pieces in there. I trashed the food because I didn't know if there was more egg shells in there but I didn't want to take the chance. Its a shame because the food here tastes great. I've gotten their hanian chicken rice before and that was fine. Customer service was good and employees here are friendly.
