This had to be some of the freshest, finest cooked seafood I ever had. The service was outstanding and the drinks weren't too bad either.

We went for a 5 course wine dinner, this place is a must while you're in Annapolis. Guest chef Anthony Jones blew me away.

Outstanding everything. This restaurant is top-notch. It was recommended by locals and they are right. Best restaurant in the area.

Amazing food, amazing service, great atmosphere! Will definitely go back. I got a special for the night, Tomahawk steak... One of the most amazing meals I've ever had! Duck fat potatoes just melt in your mouth! And the beet salad was delicious! Everything was just perfect, food seasoned perfectly, oh, and the bread with garlic butter...I could have made a meal out of that! And our waitress was just a sweetheart!

Our food was stellar!! Our waiter Easton was very attentive and friendly! We wanted for nothing and the food was probably the best seafood I have had in 15 years no lie!

Great atmosphere, excellent food, we love their jumbo lump crab cake, one of best crab cake we have tried so far.

My wife and I went here for Valentine’s Day and had a wonderful experience. We started off with drinks. We both ordered the Smoke and Mirrors, it was a very well balanced drink that we both enjoyed. For an appetizer we ordered the Pupusas and they were pretty tasty, especially with the sauce that came with it. For our entrees my wife ordered the Whole Maine Lobster Special and I ordered the Creekstone Farms Delmonico Steak Special. My wife let me try her Lobster and it was delicious! My steak was also amazing, very flavorful and juicy. We were both very satisfied with how good the food was. Our server was very good, super attentive, and gave great recommendations. This was such a great experience for a Valentine’s Day date night.

Tasty food with a unique menu. Interesting cocktails (and mocktail options from those) and a varied wine list. Warm bread with a garlicky/chives butter was a great start to the meal. The Diver Scallops and Crispy Rockfish were excellent - and beautiful! And the brownie with raspberry sauce was phenomenal- could’ve fooled me that it was gluten free! Best of all the service was truly excellent- attentive and friendly. We really enjoyed our experience!

My visitors and I bumped into O'Leary's Seafood and decided to take a chance. I am so glad we did, what a hidden treasure. The ambience was cozy, our host made us comfortable with his European flair and the food was gourmet level quality. My brother had sea scallops that melted in the mouth. My sister-in-law had a grilled halibut steak which was enormous, accompanied by jollof rice and fried okra. What made the dish special was the Remoulade sauce with fresh cilantro and lime that perfectly set off the grilled halibut. I had the crab cakes with haricot verte, fingerling potatoes and a marvelous sauce. Never in my life, have I had a crab cake that was literally all crab. It was huge, moist and flaky and set off beautifully by the sauce. I had to take the other one home. We topped everything off with a shared cremé brúlé. It literally just dissolved in your mouth, leaving a buttery goodness behind. We all agreed that O'Leary's Seafood was a very special place, offering intimate, gourmet dining in the beautiful city of Annapolis.

My group of 12 had an amazing dinner here during our vacation to Annapolis. Despite the chaos of a party of 12 women celebrating their 40th birthdays, the server was patient and attentive. The food was delicious - not one complaint - and the cocktail selection was great as well. If we visit the area again, we’ll definitely be back.

Let me begin by saying this place was worth the 3.5-hour drive. I would definitely do it again! The food was fantastic. John, our server, was wonderful. I recommend this place 100%. As for the atmosphere, I was expecting to be by the bay; however, it was too small. Nevertheless, the quality of the food and the service weigh more to me than a little table space.

Astounding fine dining experience. A starter that combined fresh shrimp, sesame seeds and a delicately spiced peanut sauce signaled promising things to come. The lobster with pancetta flavored risotto was incredible. The crab cake served on fried green tomatoes a revelation, and the rockfish on smoky yellow rice and black beans achieved perfection. Service impeccable throughout, with excellent cocktail and wine pairing recommendations. Hurry here before it becomes impossible to get a reservation when the Michelin stars start adorning this gifted chef ...

Where to start!? Amazing service, amazing food. Not enough words to even describe how wonderful the food was. Our ahi appetizer we so fresh and tender, and the flavors were so diverse! The red fin entree was cooked to perfection and was spectacular. When you come ask for Denise, she will take exceptional care of you!

So I don't know how I've lived in Annapolis so long, and eaten here so many times ... and only now I'm getting around to writing a review. O'Learys is my favorite restaurant in Annapolis. I always try to come for my birthday ... and I am always tempted by multiple things on the menu. When in doubt... just order the Crispy Rockfish. It is so freaking good, and you will not be disappointed. Also, I think they may have the best Calamari in town (spicy, and perfectly fried). In a seafood town, you know that is high praise. Don't worry, I will be back again soon. Pictured (in order): Calamari Pork Chop with Brussels and Fingerling Potatoes Crispy Rockfish Lobster and Crab Risotto

O’Learys is definitely a very nice place to enjoy a meal. Relaxing setting, food and service are excellent. Located in the Eastport area of Annapolis, they have parking which is always nice down there. The food was excellent we had oysters, scallops and the Tomahawk steak which was a special that night. The steak was huge as expected. Great restaurant for special occasions and their seafood and fish dishes are plentiful.

One of those places you would go back to. We started with oysters. The Buffalo ones were my personal favorite. Nice and juicy with a nice little kick. Crab cakes and Rockfish were made to perfection. We order them 50/50. You must try them both! Every spoonful of Cioppino was just melting in your mouth. So, so fresh! Compliments to the chef! The service was great as well.

R

I've always wanted to go there and I was not disappointed. I had an upside-down Gibson that I enjoyed. My friends and I found the prix frixe dinner meals to be of great variety and beautifully served. Our server who was Dmitri could not have been any more attentive. We're anxious to come back.

Wonderful dinner experience for my birthday! Food was top notch! Loved the lobster and risotto! Adorable octopus artwork too. Definitely a great date night location and venue.

This was my first time timing despite living in Annapolis for years. We never went because of negative reviews we had heard from a family member. I am glad we gave it a try because it was an amazing dinner date night. The ambiance / decor is beautiful, tables aren’t too close together, we were very comfortable sitting by a window. Our server was incredibly attentive and I even complimented him at the end of the night for his great service! As for the food we literally ate ever single bite - we started with bread service then apps we ordered the buffalo fried oyster - they were amazing. Dinner I ordered crabcakes and my husband ordered a lobster special. See my pictures for how beautiful the presentation was and it was delicious!!! Overall A+ date night and I would return!!

This was our 3rd or 4th time visiting O'Learys, but it has probably been a year or 2 in between and it hasn't disappointed yet. I don't think I've gotten past the Crispy Rockfish yet, but I've tasted all my wife's food and it's delicious as well. She had the Shrimp and Grits and it was fantastic as well. Calamari appetizer was also very good. We both mentioned that we've been sleeping on this place and need to come more often

O’Learys has the best seafood in Annapolis without a doubt. It's definitely worth stopping by and giving it a try; you will not be disappointed.

Our favorite Annapolis spot! Food is amazing, server amazing, ambiance amazing! The buffalo oysters are fantastic. 3 of us got the crispy rockfish served with shrimp, rice and black beans and some heavenly aoili. Scrumptious! 1 person got the half and half. Rockfish AND crabcake. Most plates were empty. Will be back again and again...

Excellent Dining Experience. Food and Service Outstanding. Highly recommend for a date night in a casual setting.

If you want a true Eastport Annapolis experience, O'Learys is perfect. Location is just off of Spa Creek in the heart of Eastport in a funky building with murals on the outside and funky original art inside. No real water views, but you are only steps away from the docks with views of the USNA and downtown Annapolis. While this is a relatively expensive restaurant, the vibe is very casual and everyone is super friendly. When we were there, we saw several tables celebrating birthdays and special occasions. Just like the building, the food is interesting and not totally traditional. Lots of interesting flavors and ingredients. Most traditional dishes MD like crab cakes or rockfish will have a twist. The Salvadoran pupusas on the appetizer menu were one of our favorites. They have their own parking lot too, which is a rarity in Annapolis. Highly recommend.

A
Alex Berberian

The food here was excellent. Recommended for a classy date night. One thing to note is they have a parking lot on site, so no need to pay for parking at an area lot. The service was excellent as well and the waiter had excellent suggestions. It's a pricier restaurant, but we thought the food was excellent for the price so I'm not going to say it's overpriced. It's properly priced but don't expect bar pricing. The atmosphere was tight but pleasant And we had a nice view of the water.

Delicious and comprehensive seafood offerings. We enjoyed the rockfish and branzino in particular. I RECOMMEND IT! Very cozy environment and easy to hear your table guests.

This place is absolutely amazing! If I could give it 10 stars I would. It was one of the best meals I have had in a long time. We got the fried oysters, the whole lobster with crab risotto and the Delmonico, as well as strawberry shortcake. Everything was mouthwatering, a huge step above an average great meal. It was so good in fact that we drove back a couple weeks later just for the restaurant. We live about 45 minutes away. It’s beautifully decorated and the service was top notch. Johnny is so professional, knowledgeable and also funny. O’Leary’s is the place to go if you want to be certain to have a wonderful dinner.

First, your experience very pleasantly surprised everything was excellent from the ambience to the food service. Start to finish the meal was outstanding and the wait staff was also terrific!!! The food was amazing. We had the crabcakes as well as the scallops, and with everybody the dish became more delicious! We also had the maple walnut bread, pudding as our dessert… And we never get dessert… And it was fabulous! Definitely a five star experience at this restaurant we will absolutely go back again and we highly recommend it if you're looking for a delicious meal in a cozy setting where you can talk and enjoy. A terrific dining experience

This seafood joint was very nice, and the food was perfectly prepared and cooked well. I had the crab cakes and rockfish, as well as calamari. The crab cake was all crab with no filling and along with the rockfish was moist to the taste. The calamari had a preparation I had not seen previously, or perhaps they perfected it. They had a hot pepper and a sauce that gave the dish a little kick and great depth of flavor. Great work on the overall appearance, presentation, and execution of the meal.

My three buddies and I had dinner here on our annual boys weekend. This probably is more of a date night place because its candle light and soft music but the food was very good. My one friend and I had fresh branzino cooked whole and served with orzo and broccoli I which was fantastic. Another had the crab cakes and lived them. The last guy got a mahi (I think) dish with a heavy looking vegetable sauce that he didn't enjoy. Decent selection of wine and beer and also craft cocktails. Service was excellent

O'Leary's is an excellent intimate fine dining establishment. We ordered the calamari and ahi tuna tartare. Both were on point in flavor and presentation. For main courses, I got the main lobster with a smoked pancetta and mushrooms risotto, beautifully plated, of course. The Dessert consisted of was fresh coffee and a Chai Creme' Brulee. The gentlemen Waiting on us was a consummate professional—definitely a solid dining experience.

Excellent seafood restaurant. Cozy atmosphere, good service, a large selection of wines, and tasty foods.

Had a great prime rib! And there was an unusual cocktail that I enjoyed very much. Then we watched some boats bedecked in Christmas.lights pass by. Very nice.

I was here for my anniversary, and it wasn't so bad, but just not sure I'd visit again. The food was okay. I had the whole fish selection.

C

A very nice fine dining experience. Our server made us feel at home and the food makes us want to go back. The prices are on the high side and a credit card surcharge leaves a bad taste at the end of an expensive meal.

I wanted to really like O'Learys Seafood but it started with the seats for me. We are not the skinny people and the booth they set us at was very limiting. I didn't like it. The Menu is very limited. What I thought was odd is that everything was fried in the same grease???? Crabs, vegetables, and some people are allergic to crabs so they couldn't enjoy fried green tomatoes. The entree some didn't come with a starch and a vegetable which I don't understand. Most upscale restaurants have entrees with at least a starch and vegetables. I wasn't a fan of any of the cocktails on the list which I tasted 3 of them. I just had a glass of Chardonnay. My first entree I had to send back because the food was not hot and grease was sitting on my fish. The second one I had a whole fish. It was pan seared, one side was not all the way done. I was not happy but I did not send it back. It had a sauce of tomato and olives but no vegetables and starch. The best things were the warm bread. The dessert pudding and the coffee. Change how you cook vegetables options. And one biggie was the women's restroom, it was only one stall....can you believe that... A resturant like this with one ladies stall. Give some small salads if you have no vegetables like the bread. This place was expensive for what you get. I like my sauce on the side of my calamari.

This is a seafood restaurant with a fusion twist. Very friendly staffs and good quality food. The only dish that we didn't finish was the tomato cold soup. Everything else was very good.

C

The food was good. My wife and I didn't like the drink called the Beaker. Didn't taste any pineapples. I wish the menu was bigger. Would I go back? Doubt it. It was our first experience there. I think there are so many other choices for seafood in Annapolis.

My significant other and I went to enjoy a nice dinner date night together. We definitely brought down the average age of the patrons by 10-20 years and had a lot of eyes on us from the floor manager the whole time. We loved the native fish decor/art that was on every wall! The lighting, music and setting were great and relaxing! Service was more on the relaxed side, understandable since it was a slow evening. We ordered the PEI Mussels to start which we both demolished. The mussels were cooked well and cleaned properly! We split the 50/50 platter which allowed us both to share a crab cake and the rockfish with their respective sides. The rockfish was my personal favorite, and the crab cake did not skimp! Lastly we had the butterscotch pudding for dessert which was a great way to end the meal! Would definitely come back again!

My server was good very attentive she’s the only reason why I’m giving a 3 star review. I let her know that I had a food allergy to coconut and Broccoli she said I could substitute the coconut rice that came with my meal. I Chose to get mushrooms and Bok choy. She came back after putting the order in and told me the chef was going to charge me extra for the mushrooms. I didn’t think I should have been charged extra but I went with it. I am also a Chef I wouldn’t charge my guest extra to replace something they are allergic to. My food came out Luke warm and the mushrooms that I paid extra for was not fresh. As soon as I got to my car my stomach started to hurt immediately. I have been going to this restaurant for over 6 years. It seems to be going down as far as the food. There was a time when with out a doubt I enjoyed everything on the menu the food was always fresh. And the service was great when I the elder was there I can’t remember his name but he was more then the host he always made sure things was great.

We dined at O’Leary’s for old times sake last night. Food was just ok, nothing elevated. Salad was pedestrian, Buffalo oysters were just that - fried oyster tasting like buffalo wings. Crab cakes were great. The loser was shrimp and grits… see pic… small shrimp in a greasy mess. We had a poached pear for dessert which was good but it was the tiniest pear… with seeds and core. Service from the kitchen for the mains was very slow, absolutely lovely waitress apologized… her service was phenomenal. Guessing we won’t be back.

We had a mixed experience at O'Learys Seafood Restaurant. We tried a couple of appetizers, and while the Pupusas were a hit, the Crispy Buffalo Oysters missed the mark with the overwhelming Buffalo sauce. Additionally, one of us encountered a pearl hidden within an oyster, which could pose a risk to dental health if unexpected. Moving on to our entrees, the Wild Halibut was a standout dish, cooked to perfection and full of flavor. However, the King Salmon didn't quite meet our expectations in terms of flavor. The Ahi Tuna entree was a bit spicy but still enjoyable, while the Thai BBQ Mahi-Mahi was visually appealing but unfortunately lacked flavor. Our server, Johnny, was exceptional and provided attentive service throughout our meal. The restaurant had a charming ambiance, and Johnny's courteous, personable, and knowledgeable approach added to our experience. However, the culinary execution was inconsistent, and I advise exercising caution w hen ordering and relying on the server's recommendations.

C
Casey Flanagan

The food was visually stunning, but unfortunately it looked a lot better than it tasted! Everything DESPERATELY needed salt and seasoning. We had a salt grinder at our table, which we passed back and forth all throughout dinner (and for context, this is unusual for us). The menu also didn’t indicate that the crab risotto had pancetta in it, which meant I didn’t learn that until I’d eaten some - not a huge deal for me personally even though I’m a pescatarian, but many folks strictly avoid pork for religious or other reasons and I really think this should be indicated on the menu. The three stars I did give are for the warm and attentive service we received from Chelsea, a couple of really refreshing cocktails, a beautifully decorated interior with vibrant colors and intriguing artwork, and convenient parking out back.

A bit on the pricey side..... Food was enjoyable, but I have to admit I've had better for less. Im here on business but live in FL. Maybe I'm spoiled living in the south where we have awesome fresh seafood. Tonight I ordered tomato cream soup and shrimp n grits. Soup was served with slices of mozzarella garnished on top. Presentation was nice, but the soup was only slightly warm. Cheese never melted. Tomato soup should be hot. The shrimp n grits were good. But not great. Again, nice presentation and definitely plenty of fresh large shrimp included. But the grits was the problem. They didn't have the normal gritty, slightly stiff consistency grits are supposed to have. These were kinda sorta like mashed potato consistency. A bit too soft and mushy for my taste. There's a place in Deland FL called the DeLand Fish House. It's the first place I ever had shrimp n grits... And still holds the record for best shrimp n grits anywhere I've tried. And after they hooked me, I've tried in many places. Neve lived up to the deland Fish House meal I had.. I like good value for the money... Had the price been lower I may have been able to rate as 4 stars. But this plate of shrimp and grits was an outrageous $30.00! The shrimp were delicious... But the grits brought it down. We also had calamari which was very good... Not breaded and fried, but sautéed au natural... Good flavor and not rubbery or overly chewy. Was nice. Bread was very good.... Corn salsa, was OK.... Our server was excellent... Friendly, warm, welcoming, and EXTREMELY KNOWLEDGEABLE on all of the menu items and all aspects of the prep, presentation and flavors. She rocked it. A thumbs up would be appreciated

The food was very good and the service was professional and friendly. Regarding the atmosphere: My father and I were the first customers at 5pm. The staff sat us in the back dining room. My father was in a wheelchair, he moved to a restaurant chair and I returned the wheelchair to the car. I sat looking out the window at the restaurant entrance and watched as about 10 different couples and foursomes entered and were sat in the main dining room creating a lively atmosphere. Why were we ostracized? We’d both showered that morning. :) Was it the wheelchair?

Really disappointed in what O'Learys has become! First and foremost, they charge a 2% credit card surcharge without disclosing this policy (maybe its in fine print somewhere?) to customers. Just bad form. Secondly while their dishes are good to great, their menu is overpriced and their service is pedestrian. After going to this restaurant religiously for the past 10 years for great rockfish, we've taken this restuarant off of the list. FYI, on a holiday weekend the restaurant was only at 25% of capacity on a pleasent evening in Annapolis. My conclusion is everyone else got the memo on the diminished "dining experience" and we didn't.

R
Rachel Pernice

We ordered the steak, the whole fish selection and a lobster special. There were some decent and unsatisfactory elements of all three. Spinach was so salty it was inedible, the risotto paired with the lobster dish was tasty but the lobster was WAY overcooked. The main issue is that we proceeded our order mentioning our son’s nut and sesame ALLERGY. The waiter brushed it off saying those ingredients aren't usually in the food. I reiterated the double checking of ingredients when bread was brought to the table and got a dismissive “ya ya ya”. Only for our whole fish selection to come out with SESAME on the plate. Thankfully WE caught it before my son did as we were all sharing the entrees. SOMEONES LITERAL LIFE WASN'T TAKEN SERIOUSLY AT ALL, which is especially upsetting.
