We were two people, after a long drive and we thought we could eat this much. It was a lot, but it was good. Impossible to finish, though. The pulled pork and the wings were perfectly cooked. The brisket was not as good as we expected, but at least the overall vibe of the place made it all better. It was a laid back evening, with good music and a nice sunset.
We always enjoy our time in Blue Lake when Mad River Brewery is our destination. The draft root beer is on point and I can’t say enough about Low & Slow BBQ. It’s out of control!!! If you want a sunny escape and to be transported to BBQ and Beer Heaven… this is the spot.
The Mad River Brewery had great service and some tasty brews. The selection is very expansive and I think everyone will find something they like. We both chose the Union Stout after trying several other Stouts. They serve typical bar fare although we did not partake of the food everyone eating seemed pleased with their selections. The property had a wonderful large covered outdoor seating area. Part with regular tables and part with picnic table style seating.. plenty of parking
All things wonderful in a super open and friendly environment? The food was great and the selection of beers and ciders were too! The staff were amazing and knowledgeable, helping me find something that I could drink based on what I usually drink. If you ever see their cherry cider, get it!
Good beer, good food! Nice place! Quaint laid back atmosphere! Dog friendly patio that's partially covered! That a huge plus!
This trip was filled with cheesey garlic fries and a bbq burger. They were both amazing. The location had amazing views. I will definitely be back.
Excellent beer and the burger I had, The Mad Burger, was great.

Solid local brew and eatery, have great ales and ciders. And thank you for transitioning to paper packaging instead of plastic on your 6packs! S.L.C. (Support Local Commerce!)
Although we arrived close to closing, we still had a great experience. The first thing we noticed was the atmosphere! Everyone seemed to be enjoying the live band that was playing. Second thing to mention was the food. In addition to the food tasting fabulous, the proportions were surprisingly large! The cornbread balls with the honey butter, phenomenal! Staff was busy, but friendly. We look forward to coming back when they're not about to close to get the full experience!
We had a flight of 5 beers & all were good! The pulled pork sandwich & fries were delicious. The ranch was just how I like it & I’m a snob when it comes to ranch. This was a great stop on our brewery tour.

Beer was good ,the pulled pork sandwich was delicious. The outdoor patio was great to sit in the sun and enjoy a cold beverage.

Solid burgers and beers. I particularly like their Steelhead and Uniontown porters and wish at least one was on tap more often. Really nice outdoor seating areas (covered and uncovered) with picnic tables.
We had a BBQ salad with tri tip, and a spicy chicken sandwich. Awesome food! The Slammin' Salmon DIPA and cherry cider were good too. Definitely somewhere we'll be happy to go back to. 😊👍
Good atmosphere. Good vibes. Spaceous. Plenty of outdoor seating for you and the pooches. Kid friendly. In addition to their staples they have a wide seasonal selection. Good, quick service. Background music compliments the overall ambience. Clean tables. Beautiful mountain view.

Had dinner here a few weeks ago. Overall the food was good. Didn't like that out tri tip sandwich was cold. The menu didn't say it was cold. I remember reading this on a previous review but had forgotten. The portion size of the ranch was good. The best part was the delicious Brio roll the sandwiches came on.
I will admit that my rating could be biased because I miss the Low and Slow BBQ that was there before. The food is okay. I will say their French fries are underdone. The tri-tip sandwich needed some BBQ sauce on it. The red curry soup is interesting. I guess it was supposed to be a fusion situation? Anyways, it is decent brewery food, but not what one was available at Mad River Brewery.

When i enter a food establishment, and I have to order at a counter, Isee no need to be tipping 20% or more. How do I know if food is good or if there is any service besides Myself. Right there I know we have a problem. Tipping is getting nuts for self service locations. I will go 15
Sad. Thats how I can explain the difference between how it used to be to now for food. Low and slow was amazing and now there food is subpar with high prices. The burger was nothing to write home about nor order again. Went out for a beer and ordered garlic fries and there was almost nothing on the fries. No cheese and almot nonexistent garlic for 10 bucks for fries that are on par with a cheap carnival, high price for no flavor....Went out a couple days later to redwood curtain brewery and ordered garlic fries from south g kitchen.Blown away at the difference amazing flavor for 9 bucks for garlic fries and worth way more compared to sad river kitchen. First picture is of the sorry excuse of frys form mad river brewery kitchen next to redwood curtain brewery south g kitchen fries.
Very disappointed with my choice to eat here. We are traveling and decided to stop since we were hungry. They offer a menu from inside and had a food truck outside (Manzanita kitchen-I believe). We have kids so the food truck didn’t really sound appealing to them, they were serving Gyros and such. We grabbed a menu from inside. Limited food choices, but to be expected at a Brewery. They do however have lots of beer to choose from. We ordered the spicy chicken sandwich, the smash burger, the adult chicken fingers and the portobello burger. My first mistake was not noticing that the mushroom burger was just that, a mushroom on a bun. For the price, $16, you would think it had meat on it. It was the same price as the ground beef burger with brisket (aka smash burger)! The other problem was that it was incredibly soggy! I picked it up and it literally fell apart. It had ok flavor to it, but I couldn’t get passed the wet bun. I picked it up and it was dripping liquid. Everyone’s fries were also soggy. The spicy chicken sandwich was meh. It wasn’t a standard chicken sandwich bun more of a dinner roll with fried chicken on it. The smash burger was ok and the chicken fingers were ok as well. They seemed like they were frozen, also to be expected. They weren’t served with any sauce. Overall it was not very good food and the price was hella expensive for what you got. $70 for a very disappointing experience and we didn’t even get a beer. They did allow dogs on the patio so Oscar go to sit with us. It was pretty chilly so we sat under the covered patio which made it better. They have heaters, but they weren’t on. They have a menu online however, it isn’t the one they gave us. They also only take cash so be prepared to bring a lot with you. We will not be coming back here again.

Had a very bad experience here last weekend. First, they dont allow outside water bottles so if you want to drink your own water that's not allowed. so they already dont trust their customers. great start. One of the bartenders was EXTREMELY rude to my partner and friend when telling us about a rule we didn't know about. so rude, I have never been scolded like that in my entire life. They don't trust the paying customers to not sneak in booze, yet also allow them to have children running around. the place hasn't been the same since they kicked Low n Slow BBQ out of the kitchen and the new food was okay but the taproom vibe has changed. no longer the same chill vibe. Will not be returning.

Lisa was very extremely rude I came in for a beer and acted like she could care less she deserves to be FIRED for how she treated me!!! I will not be visiting this place again! Please get better staff because this was unacceptable!!
The “food truck”atmosphere/service caught me off guard, especially when the hostess is standing around anyways. She would make more money if they let her serve. To be asked to tip at the screen is wild. Ordered beer separately at the bar, michelada was okay. Ordered a pulled pork sandwich as the options were very limited. Fries sold separately. Buzzer finally went off and was annoyingly loud, couldn’t be silenced. I pick up the food and see a long wavy hair intertwined in the pork. Very disappointing. The pulled pork was too saucy and gave a crockpot texture. Fried onions were cold and stale and the pickled onion/cabbage lost texture, leaving the sandwich completely soggy. I had always wanted to stop here but left regretting the decision. The full grown dog dragging its butt on the table TOP outside was the “cherry on top” never again.
Decided to pop in here last night with my sister & my son.. (03/06/26 around 5PM) The bartender immediately seemed to be in a bad mood. She had no answers to questions I had about their taps, didn’t help me at all when I asked about certain drinks other than saying “we’re out of that”. No suggestions, and a sour look on her face. Anyways, we ordered some apps & I got a pitcher of beer (my boyfriend was going to come join us for dinner & drinks after he got off work). As my son was running around my sister WHO IS 22, tried a sip of the IPA. She wasn’t in a drinking mood & also doesn’t like IPAS. Hence why I ordered that beer instead of something girly pop for her. When I got back to the table after chasing my kiddo all I see is the bartender ripping the beer away from her & taking the entire pitcher (26$) off the table and telling us we’re “86’d”…. I asked my sister what happened & she said she went to try the beer and it got confiscated. NOW, as someone who has worked in f&b as both a bartender & manager this situation was NOT handled correctly. IF, your bartender suspects, what I’m assuming she thought was underaged drinking, then why not just ask for their identification instead of ripping alcohol off the table & wasting MY MONEY & beer? Ask for proof of age and offer another cup of she decided to wanted to drink? My sister would have gladly showed her, her ID if she ASKED for it. But instead she went all power control & weird over nothing. Also, I was unaware that she even tried a sip of MY BEER until it was TAKEN. I was not even at the table. So my money got wasted on something I was completely unaware about… 26$ not including the tip, which she most definitely didn’t deserve. Anyways, this made me never want to return to this brewery. They honestly have gone SO DOWNHILL since low & slow left anyways. Over priced Mediocre food, the two sips I was able to get from my 26$ beer wasn’t great, service from the counter where we ordered food was good. But that was the only good part of the whole experience. I’ll be sharing this story with the community as well as taking my money elsewhere from here on out. **small update, the owner of the brewery has reached out & talked to me about this situation & apologized on behalf of her employee**
