I was in Artesia for work today and got a sudden craving for Thai food. I remembered a spot on South Street that I had tried a while ago and loved, so I decided to give it another go. I'm so glad I did! The food was just as amazing as I remembered. I went with a few friends and we ordered a bunch of dishes to share. I got the seafood dish, and honestly, it was a solid 10/10. Fresh, flavorful, and just perfect. I also tried the crab fried rice, which was packed with real, fresh crab—definitely a winner in my book. My friends ordered the fried mussels, along with a couple of other dishes, and everything was so good! We ended on a high note with Thai French toast for dessert... It was bomb! Seriously, don’t skip it. Highly recommend this place if you’re in the area. Everything is consistently great, and I’ll definitely be back next time I'm craving Thai
I had a wonderful experience with customer service; the staff were attentive and genuinely friendly, making me feel welcomed from the moment I walked in. The food was not only incredibly delicious but also reasonably priced, which was a pleasant surprise. I was impressed by the generous portion sizes, ensuring that I left feeling satisfied and enjoyed great value for my money. Overall, it was a delightful dining experience that I would happily recommend to others.
This place offers authentic Thai food. Always serve good quality food.
We make every effort to dine-in at this place annually when we visit Irvine, CA. The food is absolutely delicious and consistently tasty. Highly recommend dishes: satay chicken/beef, papaya salad, Thai boat noodle, catfish w/ chilli sauce. Can't wait until our next visit!
Probably one of the best Thai Restaurant in the area. We order 3 items and we are not disappointed with the flavor. Everything was delicious and the portions are satisfying too. Definitely will be back here again!
The restaurant is very clean including the bathroom. The medium spicy Thai boat is very good and Thai coffee is yummilicious 😍🥰💕
Love their Thai Boat Noodles, wish they open a spot in the Valley for this type of cuisine. Can't find this food no where in the valley that makes this dish. I fell in love with this dish from the first bit, Mmmmmmmm oh how I miss it!!
Beautiful service. Good food. The only thing that was a bit egg smelling tho, a little too much was the pad Thai. Other than that pretty good.
Great atmosphere, timely and friendly service, food is delicious, and reasonably priced! Definitely plan to go again.
To me this is the best Thai restaurant in La county. Especially the yellow curry. I’ve been to a lot of Thai restaurants and this one has the best yellow curry.
Among all the soondubu restaurants in the OC area, it’s no surprise that this place is always busy. At many restaurants, even asking for an extra side dish or a refill of water can feel like a burden, and some servers seem to care more about tips than service. That is absolutely not the case here. The servers constantly walk around checking on tables, offering refills of side dishes, and making sure water glasses are never empty — without being asked. Their attentiveness and sincerity truly stand out. Of course, the food is delicious and the prices are reasonable, but what really keeps me coming back is the excellent service. The staff’s work ethic and genuine care for customers make this restaurant special. Highly recommended, and sincere compliments to the entire team. This famous sundubu (soft tofu stew) restaurant is open until 2 AM, so I came here late at night with friends visiting from Korea. We ordered the Galbi/Bulgogi Combo Sundubu, and the meat portions were generous and the taste was so good that my friends even said it was better than in Korea. Of course, the price is higher than in Korea, but the quality makes it worth it. The staff were very friendly and quickly refilled the side dishes, so I want to compliment them on their excellent service. Even late at night, the place was packed with mostly international customers, so if you plan to visit, be prepared for a wait. Highly recommended for anyone craving authentic Korean food.
This is a wonderful restaurant for friends and family! My family and I love to go eat here as it is a very comfortable place to enjoy Korean food. You can see all the workers being very dedicated to their costumers. One employee that stood out to us was Cristine. She is very nice, generous and always very attentive. We are always lucky to have as a server whenever we eat there.
My favorite BCD location in OC! 🫶 Whenever I’m craving gopchang (beef intestine) soon tofu soup, this is my go-to spot and I love the side dishes here. The fish cake, cucumber kimchi, and seasoned squid banchan are always fresh and flavorful. The place is clean, spacious, and the staff is super friendly. Special shoutout to Kelly 이모! She was so nice and took the time to explain the menu and combos to us. We really enjoyed our lunch! We ordered one Spicy Raw Crab Combo and one regular. The spicy crab was fresh, perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of sauce, and paired perfectly with fluffy rice. I always choose spicy crab over galbi! For the finale, try the nurungji with seasoned squid! This location is inside a plaza with plenty of parking. I went on a weekday, so I’m not sure how busy it gets on weekends, but there were tons of parking during the week. Highly recommend!
Always feel like you're being welcomed by family here. They're very attentive by making sure your sides are always full, and overall, they are all just very respectful. Truly, great experience after a day of walking at universal studios. Comfort food, that never fails. Thank you for your great food and customer service.
Honestly one of the best tofu soup chains because they are so consistent on the west coast! Amazing banchan selection with unlimited refills and while service may be quick and without American pleasantries, that’s what I love about this place. You get served good food and everyone is kind enough with the goal of getting you good food as soon as possible. Soup is so hot when it arrives and rice is really fresh. They even pour tea in the scorched rice pots for a post dinner snack. Place is really clean and food is really good, so nothing to complain about. Unfortunately all I have is a picture of the free fried fish app they give everyone which is also a very yummy piece of food to start the meal with!
Love this place. Delicious Korean BBQ and all you can eat banchan, or side dishes. It is a great place for a Combo lunch or dinner. You choose a meat/entree and a type of tofu soup which is delicious! I ordered the Spicy Chicken and Beef Galbi. I also chose the Seafood Tofu soup, Spicy. They ask if you want mild, medium, spicy, etc. Spicy was perfect, not too spicy at all.
I always come here for dinner with a friend every time I'm in town. Young papaya salad is one of the best ones around. I highly recommend the papaya salad, the pineapple fried rice, and the green curry and basil (this curry was the best dish tonight. I kept going for more and didn't share with the others, lol). All the dishes were delicious, not salty or bland, my taste buds greatly appreciate this.
First time here since we discovered their IG page. Finally got to try out their food. Spring rolls (eggrolls), fish patties, Thai boat noodle and Pad see ew beef. Service guy was great, he even explained the noodle that I may not want to try only due to a few people who dislike it 😂. I'm not risking it yet so I passed that n pick my usual at every Thai restaurant: pad see ew. The portion is huge.. definitely share 😬.. flavor is there but if they swapped that w a flame wok and get that char smoke flavor, it'll be 10/10..but it's still great tho. 😆 Lol. Boat noodle was good but a lil sweet for both of us. Vinegar jalapenos help cut that part a bit. Fish cakes is super light and fragrance with the kaff.lime leaves. Not a fan of the sweet sauce though. Eggrolls was ok, not something I'd try again. But overall, there menu selections is huge compared to other Thai restaurants we've been too. 4/5 . And will definitely come try other dishes ☺️
This has become our go-to spot for asian food. Consistent quality every time we visit. The accompanying chili is delicious. I wish they'd offer Sriracha sauce. The food is perfect, but I don't like the smell. The interior is also a bit scary, although it's cultural
Had the veggie bibimpab in hot stone pot combo with tofu soup with non meat broth. It also comes with generous sides of delicacies like kimchi, cucumbers, seaweed and more. Quite a feast! The service stands out as being very attentive and thorough. Would definitely come back. I hear that there are often lines out the door and I get why.
I’m giving this place more like a 3.5. Luckily for them the food is excellent. The service was awful. The wait wasn’t that bad at around 40 min. The moment we sat down a rushing waitress showed up asking what we’d order and they dropped off 2 place settings. We were missing 1 napkin for 2 people. Not a big deal and was dealt with quickly. Then someone drops off 1 water and 2 teas so we are short 1 water. They never corrected the issue but it wasn’t an issue as my mother didn’t want ice water anyways, but it’s a bit much to assume. We hadn’t even gotten to look at the menu yet. Then a waitress comes around again before we are ready and we had to send her away again. Then finally we ordered. About 2 minutes later our rice arrives. After that it was a full 30 minutes before we received our food. People around us got their ban Chan and food before us despite ordering after us. All the food and ban Chan arrive at the same time and they are apologizing to us. The waitress (different person this time) asks us if we want tea. I say yes. No tea arrives until I ask. Then need the check. Have to ask again. I understand they are busy but everyone else seemed to be receiving what they ordered in a timely manner. You can probably get away with the delay with a larger table, but not a 2 person table. Our table was the only one that seemed to be waiting that long.
Very good place if you crave Tofu soup. Portion sizes are decent. They have free barley tea but must ask for it.
Thankfully open till late! Yelp Waitlist at the entry but we were here at 10 pm and there was really no wait . This is the probably the most common if not the largest chain standard of Soft Tofu soup across the SoCal region. Side dishes include one whole fried fish, spicy thin cucumber, sesame and carrots in a sesame oil sweet soy sauce base, napa cabbage kimchi, seasoned thin sliced fish cakes - all of these are refillable. Got a Galbi (LA cut short ribs) combo which comes with a smaller stone pot of soup ( I got the tripe/intestines) - it was okay but I've honestly had better flavor elsewhere, usually at the smaller Korean run or owned spots. Kids' meal option was well worth it - for the toddler we got the bulgogi combo : came with rice, a whole pack of seaweed laver, small tofu soup (no spice), two fried gyoza. Very spacious restaurant, lots of parking usually available in this plaza, depending on the time of day.
Best soondubu broth. Was starving after a long 6-hour flight delay so forgot to take pics of the soon dubu soup but took a pic when the fish and side dishes came out which were all delicious, especially the pickled cucumbers. Go-to spot for soft tofu soup but watch out for their spiciness if it's spicier than mild. Service wasn't good though but korean restaurant aren't known for that. #IYKYK
I think this is a good place to dine in for lunch, dinner with friends and family. The service, food, and banchan were good. They were served warm, which gave a similar feeling to a homemade meal. What we ordered: Haemul Pajeon (Seafood Pancake) (5/5): the pancake was well seasoned. There was a balance between the amount of squids, shrimps, and the onions. It was crunchy, easy to eat, and combined well with the dipping provided. Crisp Garlic Tofu Bites (4/5): like its name, crisp and crunchy. The inside was stuffed and not hollow. Original Soon Tofu (4/5): I thought the broth was light and soothing, but definitely not bland. I really enjoyed it with the steamed rice, fluffy and sticky...yum yum.
⭐⭐⭐⭐ My first time at this location, and I was impressed with the dining room's atmosphere; it's one of the nicer-looking BCDs. We were seated promptly, and the soon tofu soup I ordered was delicious, although a bit on the pricey side, which seems to be a trend at similar restaurants in recent years. The assortment of side dishes was quite tasty. The staff was friendly and attentive, which enhanced the overall experience. Parking was a breeze on the day of my visit, although I've experienced it get busy at times. Worth a try if you're in the mood for some good Korean cuisine!
Last visit in 2024 cost us $80 for beef and fish- not even seafood!! It will also be our last visit. 3 years ago: Very hard for me to rate since services were good but food taste doesn't wow me. My rating is for food. Monsoon noodle came out looking soggy, not appealing to eat, the taste was off. Just not yummy. Updated for February 26,2023 Pad see ew soggy, burnt Thai speghetti was wow, yes this tasted yummy of sweet and spicy sauce mixture.
We had come here for a birthday dinner today and we had ordered multiple items such as; monsoon euros with tofu, fried rice, Penang curry and when we got the food in the middle of eating we found two hair on two of my dishes. The server was nice enough to ask to change the dishes and not to charge them but at the end of the day I don’t think it was right that we found hair in our food. It was disgusting and we stopped eating our food after that we didn’t feel like eating here anymore. Thanks sweetie Thai owner for not charging but you maintain a level of cleanliness so there is no hair in people food.
A very busy Tofu House. Most especially int the evening of a Friday around 7:30 pm you have to wait a little longer for a table if you have a big party. We hit seated pretty fast as we were only two. Maybe their Tofu Soup and Banchan is good? You have to come in and try for yourself! They do have a lot of servers and the food comes in pretty quick. We ordered more Banchan as the portions were small. The Tofu soup is smaller and only had small pieces of beef compared to Eats Meat Soup restaurant. All in all the food was good for a typical chain restaurant . Service was superb!
My friends were raving about this place. Gone twice and each time my food was just okay. Seems more like Americanized hipster thai food. Parking can be a pain in the butt too. Haven't been back since.
Charges a 10% additional fee for to go orders as if you’re dining inside and being served and if you get good service you tip. Seriously. You order your food and pick it up and they want a tip. Not happy with just charging their prices and moving on.
We saw and add in Facebook about this place how good the food is, well we try it, I don’t know who is writing good reviews for this place, the food was average at best, the food was greasy and mostly tasteless, we are never coming back here, try somewhere else you’ll be glad you did
My family and I used to frequent this place almost monthly from 12 years ago til about 5 years ago. We decided to give it another shot after being away for so many years. On August 4, we went for lunch and had a waitress who could barely speak English greet us and take our order, (which was incorrect when we asked for for pork Moo Yang, she gave us some ages old beef). Then she tried to up-sell us on some lunch set which we're not interested in. We ordered pad-see-ey, and 2 thai boat noodles, in which were terrible tasting. The last straw was when we got our bill which came with a 18% service charge. We had 3 adults and barely 2 childs. Asked the waitress is it customary to charge automatic service charge for barely a group of 5, she nodded her head and spoke gibberish. There is also no clear mention of this charge on any of the menus or elsewhere in the restaurant. A once fine establishment probably ran to ruins by new greedy management, I as well as my millions of followers will never set foot here again.
I used to come here a lot back in college, so this visit was really a letdown. Ordered the Hainan chicken and papaya salad—first chicken came out looking like scraps, redo took 15 minutes, and was so dry it was almost inedible. To make things worse, the rice for the chicken was undercooked. The papaya salad with black crab was painfully salty. Service was fine, but nothing memorable. Overall disappointment.
