Authentic Rajasthani food and great painting on walls. If you are craving dal-bait-churma then this place is heaven. Also traditional pattal thali makes everything amazing. Highly recommended
Fantastic Indian restaurant with lots of options. The most popular item is the Thali, a whole bunch of different items made for a great personal meal. The variety of flavors is authentic and satisfying. The restaurant is fully vegetarian. The staff are friendly and interior is very clean.
Even though I don't have much background on Rajshtani cuisine but I loved the Maharaja Thalia. 3 different kinds of lentils were my most favorite. Not sure what their name was. Bit expensive at $30 per person but very well done though.
You can’t go wrong ordering anything here! Their Daal Baati was amazing, and you have to try the Ghewar and Malpua! Hands down one of the best Indian food I have had in the US!
Ah, Bhookhe Ethnic Cuisine in Artesia, California – what a delightful discovery! Stepping into this establishment, one immediately appreciates the pristine cleanliness and inviting ambiance, a perfect prelude to the culinary journey ahead. My recent visit was nothing short of splendid; the food, from the first bite to the last, was remarkably tasty, bursting with authentic flavors that transported me straight to the heart of India. What truly impressed was the lightning-fast service, ensuring that our eager palates were never left waiting, a testament to their efficiency and dedication to a seamless dining experience. Bhookhe truly delivers on all fronts – delicious food, swift service, and a spotlessly clean environment, making it a must-visit for anyone craving an exceptional Indian meal.
Can’t believe I took so long to try out Bhooke. This place is UP THERE. Given the recent dip in quality at Rajdhani, would say it’s top two for Artesia.. (Podi Dosa and Bhooke) Portions are HUGE. Service is GREAT (shout out to Bharat for looking after us so well). Chai is MADE RIGHT (masala and piping hot). Authenticity is 100 (food served in dishes wrapped in banana leaves, thalis.., art on the wall.. AWESOME). Taste? SO SO SOOOOOOOO GOOD But also not for the faint hearted. The food is cooked with love and lots of ghee. Whether you’re dunking the ghee-soaked baati in earthy daal, or stuffing yourself with the crumbly, sweet churma or besan ladoos.. the Rajasthani flavors are front and center.. and the confronting quality of the taste is too upfront to dismiss Best kachoris we’ve had stateside.. hands down (recommend the kachori chaat). Highly recommend the Maharaja thali.. get to try everything.. and comes with lassi, sweet dishes.. and three different types of bread (rumali roti/baati/other types of bread!). Beware.. portions are massive.. so expect to take food to go! Will 10000% be back!
The food is really good and the portions are enough for one person in the maharaja thali. We enjoyed the bajri roti and the chaat too. The dishes were homey and delicious. The only complaint was the bati was slightly raw making it difficult to eat. The ghevar rabdi is to die for. Must visit place for Rajasthani food and chat. Would definitely return to other dishes
Absolutely loved the Rajasthani Thali suggested by Bharat. Friendly staffs. Food was awesome.
Food was incredible good quality, tasty and great portion in plate. Will visit again if we around this area.
Good to see food from my home Rajasthan !!! Daal was really good in maharaja thali, on top I enjoyed pyaaz kachori, baati was little hard I would suggest soaking them in ghee !! Everything else was good specially I was able to get parking right in front of the restaurant 😎
Had amazing experience at bhookhe….they have original taste…best Indian restaurant in area
The best Rajasthani food in the States I have had. The staff is courteous and also accommodating. We had called for - pyaaz kachori chaat - sev tamatar - shahi paneer - tawa roti - chaas Each dish was better than the previous. If you have always had paneer then try kachori char and sev tamatar. You’ll definitely relish it. On a special request, we also were given the Lasun Chutney. I must say, it tastes just like the way our Maharajs make back in India. Being a Rajasthani, I highly recommend Bhookhe!

This is a very authentic type of Rajasthani food very first in Los Angeles I have never had Rajasthani food in America if I have to say. I looked at the menu and they have all sorts of Rajasthani food and delicacies that you would typically get in the state of Rajasthan. I went there with my mother and we tried Dal bati and khardi paneer. there were other food to in the menu that I would want to try to see how they are making. It's a nice decent size restaurant.
Had the Maharaja Thali at Bhookhe and absolutely loved it! I’ve never experienced so many items on a single thali…it was truly impressive. Also loved that they have ghevar; it’s so rare to find!
Great place with great food. Dal batti is just amazing. The variety of thali they offer is so good. I have been there so many times but yet they make me crave their food everytime. Unique food in the whole of Artesia. Recommended to visit this place. Great service too. Not the best environment but overall, feels welcoming.
Really cute place to have some authentic Indian chaats and meals. My partner and I were filled trying out most of their chaats that we couldn't get to the main course lol. The lassi was great too, and being pet friendly, they allowed us to keep our little pup inside the restaurant without any hassle. Really appreciate them for it!
Hands down the best pav bhaji in the area! We’ve been on the mission to find our favorite & this one tastes so good! It feels almost home made, is quite flavorful and not super oily like other restaurants nearby.
Went on a first date here - we both wanted to try out the restaurant because we'd read or heard about it. I had the maharani thali and she had the sartaj thali. Both had very high quantity of food, so kinda glad we didn't get any appetizers first. Each thali cost 23 bucks, before tips and taxes. Mine had three different curries, including kadhi and masoor dal, and a couple of pretty-hard-to-break batis alongside rice and aloo sabji. The two pickles were pretty good. The sweets weren't very tasty. Her thali had a couple of rotis and a paneer dish, plus some curries and sweets and pickles. Each thali came with a salty lassi-like drink which was pretty good. The food was hot when it first arrived, but it's so much quantity that it would invariably go cold by the time you are half done, and then it wasn't so enjoyable. The place was empty when we got there at 7pm, but pretty crowded by 8. There are a handful of spots behind the restaurant to park your car for free.
Bhookhe is an awesome Rajasthani restaurant with great daal-baati, if you like that dish. They also have great kachori. We got the Maharaja plate, daal-baati and vada paav. The Maharaja plate was great, but their bowls were small. So you have to ask them to bring refills more often. Over the weekends they are busy so that would be challenging. Parking is on the street or at a lot nearby.
Maharani Thali fed me like a king, but breaking the baati felt like a royal challenge! Food: The restaurant delivered an authentic and flavorful Indian dining experience, with a mix of traditional and rich dishes. - Maharani Thali: This grand platter was worth every penny, offering a hearty and fulfilling meal. The portion size was generous enough for two people if paired with appetizers. The dal and sweets were excellent, maintaining an authentic taste. However, the baati was a bit too hard, making it difficult to break, which could have been improved. - Shahi Paneer: This dish was the star of the meal—one of the best paneer sabzis I’ve had so far. The gravy-to-paneer ratio was perfect, with a well-balanced blend of spices and sweetness, making every bite satisfying. Service: The service was prompt and attentive. The staff was courteous, ensuring a smooth dining experience without long wait times. Ambience: The restaurant’s ambience reflected a traditional yet elegant Indian vibe, making it a great place for a sit-down meal. The decor and overall setting enhanced the dining experience, making it feel both warm and inviting. Pricing: The pricing was justified for the quality and quantity of food served. The Maharani Thali was a great value for money, given the variety of dishes included, and the Shaadi Paneer felt like a premium dish worth its price. Overall Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐½ (4.5/5) A must-visit for lovers of Indian cuisine, offering flavorful dishes, generous portions, and good service. A slight improvement in the baati’s texture would have made it a perfect meal.
Lots of choices. 1st Rajasthani cuisine I've been to and it was good. Very prompt service and free bottled water.
