The food was sooooo good! I had the empanadas and the hubs had the wagon steak tacos and we were both very happy with our meals! We shared a piece of key lim pie and the meringue was not only sky high but it was delicious!!! Ya gotta try this place!!

I had a great experience at Boathouse Bar & Grill! The food was delicious, and the presentation made it even better. The Highlights: The fish tacos were fresh and flavorful, with crispy fish, vibrant toppings, and a tasty drizzle of sauce. The side of beans was a nice complement. The chicken fried ribeye steak was absolutely delicious—crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside, and paired perfectly with rich gravy. Izzy’s Cream Cake was the perfect way to end the meal. The caramel drizzle, fresh berries, and whipped cream made it a decadent and unforgettable dessert. The atmosphere was relaxed, the service was friendly, and the food did not disappoint. I’ll definitely be coming back!

The food, drinks, atmosphere, and service were OUTSTANDING! We were there at night, so we missed the lovely lake view, but still enjoyed dinner outside. Adimara was such a sweet and attentive server and I am so glad I took her up on her recommendation...the chicken fingers. I don't usually go somewhere new with chicken fingers in mind...but y'all...Check out the pic...they look like a whole chicken breast! So the size, crispy flavorful coating...the BEST...EVER! My husband had the catfish plate which was also really good! We were visiting from out of town but can't wait to go back here someday!

Excellent food! We’ve been several times for lunch and brunch. My favorite lunch item is the grilled chicken with sautéed veggies and a glass of Sauvignon blanc. The patio is lovely to sit on, especially when the weather is nice. The view of the lake is beautiful!

I saw some bad stuff so a little nervous. My family absolutely loved everything. My Bahama, Mama was so tasty!! Our appetizer of jalapenos was delicious! My club was huge! The turkey on it was smoked and so freaking good! They had a beautiful atmosphere playing good music. Games outside. I could let my little girl go play and watch her have a great time. The staff was polite and treated us wonderful! I was impressed and Will be back! 🩷

I was in town on Saturday and needed a good lunch stop. This place came recommended locally. I sat on the patio, ordering grilled fish tacos and flan for dessert. Very tasty. And I really enjoyed the view. Jasmine was my waitress and she was courteous and timely. Definitely made my trip to Athens more enjoyable. Glad I stopped!

The food here is excellent. I had the beer battered fish tacos and they were excellent!! Came with a side of beans and this place knows how to cook beans. The others in our group loved their food as well. Catfish plate and Chicken Parmesan with slivers of mixed vegetables and Grill Fish tacos. Servers were friendly and very attentive. The food took a little longer than expected, but it was the lunch hour. Well worth the wait. We sat outside on the patio overlooking the lake. Si nice and beautiful Fall colors in the view. We will be returning!!

Nice place that is spaced out well. Very clean and a great view of the lake. We had the Cajun Caso and it was really good. Maybe the best I've ever had. I had the shrimp plate. I think Panko bread crumbs and a little over rated. Too much crunch and not a lot of flavor. Their slaw was fresh and good. My husband had a burger with jalapeno bacon. He said it was good. He only wished that the bacon would have been crispy. Our waitress was very good. Great place to have a drink. The Bloody Mary looked good enough to make me want to go back and try it.

I felt a bit annoyed like they did not wanna service me when I was sitting at a table. So I got up and went to the bar, she was a little better. Why I am giving three stars for service.The atmosphere was wonderful, and the food wasn't half bad.It was very delicious and the bloody mary delicious.And had all the fixins

Food was great. Atmosphere was impressive with an outdoor dining area overlooking the lake. Service was very bad. We somewhat felt ignored. But i think it was only our server, the others appeared to be attentive. We will likely try it again with a different server.

Pretty cool place. Nice views for the most part. Food tasted pretty good all around, although not as eye appealing as I had hoped. Server helped us pick between some dishes and was pretty quick to fill drinks etc. Inside was almost empty when we arrived and was quiet but it filled up fast and got quite a bit louder.

First time eating there with my dad. The food was good (fish and chips), the service wasn't that great, and it's a loud place with bad acoustics. Several dishes were pricey for what they are. I'm not sure if we will go back.

Beautiful view of the lake. Great burger. Beer seemed a little under-filled (see pic). Service was BAD. 20 minutes for a beer and 45 mins for a burger. The locals sitting next to me said it was normally much better, so I stuck with 4 stars.

I have been going to the Boathouse off and on for 20 years. Sunday was the last time I'll go. We arrived at 1:30pm. We were not given silverware or our drinks until 2:20. Our food arrived at 3:15. This was an absurd length of time to wait for sandwiches. The back of house was very disorganized despitea large staff. There were empty tables so it wasn't overwhelmingly busy. I was giving this place another chance after getting poor service last spring. This visit put the nail in the coffin. The Boathouse used to be the nicest restaurant in Athens. However, it suffers from a disorganized front and back of house, diminished food quality, and an increasingly dirty atmosphere.

If you don’t care about the food, this is truly a great place. If you’re hoping for even somewhat decent food with a view, forget it. The appetizer (jalapeño poppers) was really good. My wife’s Bleu Cheese Wedge was a joke. It was almost entirely lettuce (see pic). I had the Shrimp and Grits. Pathetic. Tasted like grits from a box. Not exaggerating. Don’t forget to remove the tails from your shrimp (kind of a hassle). Service: It wasn’t until I finally flagged down a waitress to ask who our server was, did we finally get served. One and done for us. Highly overrated. The people glamping next to our RV site warned us.
