China Garden

This is standard, fast and cheap chinese food. This is not for a gourmet palate, but is basically a Chinese fast order grill. Its decent food for a low price. No frills. Don't complain if you are expecting fine Chinese food--that's not the point. We need places like China Garden where you can grab dinner for $10! It sure beats cooking after work!

I got the shrimp lo mein, and out of all the "fast Chinese food" places, it was good. It wasn't overly priced and for it to be a lunch hour it was pretty quick I got my order, plus two others that I had ordered, in less than 12 minutes.

Nice value for a lunch special. The food was ready pretty fast. I had General Tso's chicken.

If you have been to one of those small Chinese places where tables aren't really a thing and the food isn't great but fills you up and tastes like you think it will- this is that kind of place. It's neither good, nor bad- it falls into a middle ground limbo. The food is fine depending on what you're looking for, the staff won't say too much but gets your food made and out in a reasonable time, and its conveniently located for ease of access. I don't dislike it, I don't love it. There are way better places... but sometimes I just want to get home and it's on the way. You can do better easily, if you want.

Despite the reviews the food overall wasn't bad. Got Seasame chicken and crab ragoons. The crab ragoons are not worth the $9. It looked as if they wiped the back of the spoon to get the filling and thats what you get.

Food was not good at all. I ordered the chicken with mixed veggies. The Chicken was slimy and fatty. Definitely wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone. I had better. I Gave two stars because the crab ragoons were at least okay. They honestly need a whole new menu. Throw the whole cook away. Please!

So disappointed. I ordered the crab Rangoon there was no stuffing in the middle. I also ordered Szechuan wontons it was all dough and no filling inside and then I ordered a salt and pepper shrimp, which is decent, but I was expecting it to have jalapeños and was bell peppers instead. I will not be returning here.

I was craving Chinese one night so I stopped in and ordered one of my favorite dishes, orange chicken. I was excited to find out their plates come with pork fried rice instead of white rice, and included a pork egg roll. However that excitement was quickly dashed once I opened the dish and proceeded to eat the contents of the container. To say it was unpleasant is an understatement. First thing is the sauce, it has burnt orange peel chunks cooked into it which has a wonderful orange aroma, but leaves a horrible bitter flavor in the sauce. Most restaurants I know use orange juice concentrate to get the flavor, not orange peel. Second issue is the fry oil has been overheated which gives all of the fried bits a bitter taste as well, so once you take a bite of the chicken and sauce combined you're left with a horrifyingly bitter taste in your mouth. Because the egg roll was fried in the same oil it too had a bitter taste. The fried rice was mediocre, and was the only edible part of the entire meal. I will attempt eating here again but I will try a different meal, and go again once I'm confident enough time has passed that they've changed their fry oil out.

$15 for general taos chicken combo and i dont even get a soda? For tge same food back home its 8.95 after tax and comes with a soda also its a "resturant" but has no public restrooms and lady dispenses poor service .

I ordered via a 3rd party delivery app. My total came to $30.06. I ordered potstickers and kung pow chicken for some spice. The chicken comes with white rice, green peppers, onions, celery, peanuts, and carrots. The potstickers were good and the steamed rice was as well...however the main entre was very unappetizing. I asked for no celery and no peppers, which was done correctly in my order, but i asked it were possible to substitute broccoli for those 2 itmes being taken out. there was no broccoli in my order but as stated they did correctly omit the celery and peppers. I understand the restaurant has the right to decline that request, or maybe even charge a little extra, but some type of correspondence from the restaurant as to why they couldn't fullfil that request would have made me feel heard and valued as a paying customer. The meal itself was very disappointing, both in taste and visual appeal.I honest ito god couldn't tell the difference between a peanut or a piece chicken or a mushroom because the chicken was diced so small literally everything was all the same size...And eveything was this off beige color. my order did not come with carrots as advertised nor was it all thats spicy. Over all I felt very ignored and just like a number. It seems like my money was just taken and then my needs/desires as a paying customer were tossed aside because this is a virtual order. The whole experience was very transactional with no real feel of any apparent customer service (my virtual ordering experience. I cannot attest to ordering in store, butI can tell you I won't take that bet).

We ordered hot and sour soup and it was pretty gelatinous. Not flavorful at all. The steak and pepper didn’t look appetizing and didn’t have a great taste either to point that we couldn’t eat it. The Mongolian beef was the most decent meal and there definitely was more onions then beef in the mix. Pretty disappointing.

Good food. Bad attitude cashier Asian woman upfront. Makes mistakes on orders and instead of apologizing, she gives you bad attitude. Too many times she has been unkind which led me to write this review of my experience. The food is decent for a quick meal on the go. That’s why I gave 2 stars.

This lady wasn’t wearing any shoes and I couldn’t see until she took my money, walked from behind the counter and walked to the refrigerator and grabbed chicken with her bare hands.. when I saw that I asked for my money back and told her I didn’t want to eat there. She expressed a “I have no idea what your saying” attitude and immediately pointed at the “All Sales are Final, no refunds for any reason” sign. Needless to say we didn’t eat there and she kept the money. Also, The restaurant was so dirty, trash everywhere.

One of the worst counter Asian woman I have ever met in my life. No manners hates American people has a face that is so tight she can't evil smile. Upon arriving say 7 minutes before 3pm for lunch she does not recognize me till 3 minutes after 3p.m. and then has the audacity to say Lunch is over no more Lunch orders and wants to charge me full price. She was all business and the other customers could not believe she was seriously when she said "full price lunch is over" I walked out and I will never walk back in. Racist and Mean people have no place in my life.

I ordered Teriyaki chicken, and it was nothing like I imagined, so I called wondering if i could exchange it for something else. The woman on the phone says "NO, you ordered that! No refunds! I did not ask for my money back , just wanted to choose another entree after paying $12. The menu does not mention no refunds/exchanges. What happened to customer service? I'll never order from here again.

I did not even both to order. The negative reviews seem pretty accurate. Dirty feet with no shoes. Hot as hell in the restaurant. Feet on the counter when I walked in. It just was not a place where I'd want food at all.

I had become a regular here but today is the last day I will be back. When I walked in I saw the lady pouring the cooked chicken over into a bucket, one fell on the floor and she picked it up with her bare hands and put it back into the bucket with the other cooked chicken. This was done in front of me imagine what’s going on when no one is there.

Disappointing!! Shocking!!! Having ordered maybe 3 times in the Restaurant and 1 time online with no problems, I was suprised, shocked, and then angry after recommending China Garden on Monroe Drive across from Ansley Mall to my co-workers on a rainy Friday. I placed the order and paid online for 7 people (10 orders: Shrimp Fried Rice, Chicken Fried Rice, Shrimp Rolls, etc), spending 78 dollars and when my Co-worker showed me that the chicken in Chicken Fried Rice was not done, I called the place up. I said: Hey the chicken was not done in the rice and my co worker can not eat it. I was told I would have to bring it back so they could re-cook it. I told my co-worker and she said she could not eat it anymore, it she would get something else or the money back. When I asked the lady those questions, she repeated only to bring the food back and they would re-cook it and that was all they could do, I asked and again and she hung up on me. I was surprised and shocked first that there was no other resolution than to re-cook the same food and then mad that she hung up on me. Soooo... I went down there with the food and told her that I had just spoken with her on the phone regarding the under cooked chicken in the chicken fried rice and that she hung up on me. She told me that she hung up because that was all she had to say. I was shocked. I asked why there were no other options than to re-cook the same food, that if i could get something else that cost the same price because my co-worker could not eat it and she said: do you speak English...now...I had to repeat what she said back to her to find out if that was what she just asked me and she told me yes because she was speaking English and I was not getting it. I told her she was being rude and the comment was not called for and that we were not satisfied with the food under cooked and would like to either have another dish or a refund. She just got loud and told me basically no. I could not believe the establishment does not value there food or their customers. Please do not eat here. You are wasting your time and your money.

I placed an order for delivery to my work place and I was surprised/happy that it arrived in a decent amount of time (only reason for one star). The delivery driver called (he does not speak English) and I only understood outside. I go outside and there are several cars and I do not see him. Due to the language barrier I called the resturant to see what car to look out for, I finally see Sal. He gives me a receipt and pen in which I signed (also tip him), but once I proceeded to give it back he aggressively takes it and starts yelling in his language. The only reason I didn't react is because I didn't want to loose my job so I walked away. Very poor customer service and will not order here again.

Hung up on me 17 times after I placed an order and the deliver driver was very rude at my door when he dropped off my food. I gave this fool a $2 tip on a $17 bill...how much tip do you expect to get? I didnt have to give your broke self anything at all but he complained and said I can go pick it up myself next time. I call myself being calm and ignoring him and just calling to restaurant back to report it to him and this heifer hung up on me after I explained what happened to her....very nasty rude chinese restaurant. DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM....NASTY foreign folks here. Spend your money with a restaurant who will care about you as a customer if an issue arises...and they're way overpriced for what you get.

I went inside to place a To Go order. The to go bag was stapled so I didn't look inside. When I got home, I noticed that there was no rice in the bag with my General Tso Chicken. I called and the Lady who answered the phone said, I will ask the chef. Then came back to the phone and said we put the rice in your bag, we have a picture, it was fried rice...First of all, the order comes with white rice. Basically, I'm sitting here with expensive mediocre General Tso with no rice and burnt egg rolls. Avoid this place.

The owner or the lady that works there is very rudeee and over charge always have an attitude and when you try to correct her, she’s very rude she doesn’t care.. then I tried to make a phone call to ask her certain questions about the food if I order on Uber eats and she brushed me off and hung up in my face and she chose not to answer. I had to call there about five times just for her to answer. The food is good but the service and the lady that owns it is very very nasty and rude.

This is by far the worse dining experience I’ve ever had. The crab Rangoon was sorely lacking. The egg foo young was trash. Everything was thin with no sustenance. I asked for an itemized receipt the cashier pretended to not be able to generate one, which is ridiculous. I’m certain I was overcharged. PLEASE DON’T EAT HERE. I’m certain you’ll regret it.

Honestly, some of the most disappointing Chinese food I’ve ever had. The portions are decent and that’s pretty much the only thing I can say for it. I’ve eaten here twice to see if it was just one bad item, but it seems to be across the board. Cheap meat and oil, an extra $3 for fried rice (nothing added except oil) and the taste is like saucy cardboard. And for $15 an item for TAKEOUT, you expect a little better. Please eat somewhere else for your own sake.

I did not order but was doing a grub hub delivery. I walked in to pick up the order and the man who was cooking the food dropped the broccoli that was cooked for the order I was picking up on the floor. He looked at me and proceeded to pick up the broccoli off the floor with his hands and put it back in the takeout container. He put the meat on top of it and let the lady package it up and handed it to me. I told her that I saw him drop the broccoli and she acted as if she did not understand what I was saying. DO NOT EAT HERE THEY ARE NOT SANITARY THIS WAS THE MOST DISGUSTING THING I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE. THEY SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN AND INVESTIGATED!!!!!

I ordered chicken and broccoli, when I got home I realized it was shrimp and broccoli. I called and returned. When I returned with it they opened it and took all the shrimp out and counted it and then accused me of eating “two” shrimp. I’ve never eaten shrimp in my entire life for religious reasons. I told her I didn’t even open it. That it would make no logical sense for me to call about the wrong order, waste my time to drive back so I can have “two” shrimp and a new order. She started to call me a liar, and physically slapped my hand and knocked my phone out of my hand when I said I was going to report her. This spot should not be in operation.

I was Not pleased with their service before, but decided to try them again despite my better judgment. They failed. I called From the parking lot, watched the lady look at the caller ID, and recline in her chair. I called the 2nd of three numbers on the window, and she answered. I placed my order, sesame chicken (pretty easy, right?!) but had to repeat it after she asked if I knew where they were located and my number. I asked for a substitution of chicken fried rice instead of pork, but she told me there was an upcharge. I reminded her the prices are the same, and her tone shifted to one I didn’t care for. I thought for a second, and called back to cancel my order. She hung up on me. I’m not spending my money where it isn’t appreciated.

Found a roach in my food!!! I am sooo disgusted right now! This has never happened to me before. I am writing this review in the parking lot because the cashier refused to refund me because I left the restaurant to go eat. She kept saying she didn't know what happened because I left? My bad for not checking my meal for roaches before I left! 😭 Which is more likely: I had a dead roach on me, paid for the food, left to put the roach in the food, and came back with my food mostly untouched and asked for a refund OR there was a roach in my food when it was served to me? 🙄 DO. NOT. EAT. HERE. I filed a complaint with the Department of Public Health.

Almost $14 for a lunch plate and the food was just too bad. I ordered chow mein chicken. I barely got pieces of chicken and all veggies was just cabbage and onions. Literally plate was just 95% cabbage, onions, and rice. Not even a good flavor 🤦🏻‍♂️ I had to throw away $14 to the trash.

I’ve honestly never been this disappointed by a Chinese restaurant. It felt like they just didn’t care.
