Well-presented sushi/sashimi dishes with quite tasty, well-aged fish of high quality and high-end selections. The specialty sashimi plate included uni and ama ebi! The rice used in the rolls was uniquely Japanese flavor! Service was excellent, frequently checking up on us and filling the water glasses as needed. Parking was ample and spacious as well. Will return here in the future when back in town.

The plating of my little takeout order was top notch, and the taste incredible! I’ll be satisfying my ootoro cravings here again. The staff are so kind too and the atmosphere inside is lovely. I’ll be back to sit down and eat sometime for sure!

Amazing - would come back! Everything was fresh and everyone was warm and friendly. Because the wait was a bit longer they gave us appetizers on the house too!

Our server was amazing. She was very knowledgeable about the menu, and the food was phenomenal.

This place is awesome! You totally have to try the "Wonderboys" sushi. It's got a unique flavor, especially with that little lemon slice, and the ponzu sauce just makes it even better. Plus, the service here is always top-notch. We also got Iron Man sushi, which is unique in itself; they light the sushi on fire and cook it right in front of you.

We got their right at opening, and the opener arrived late. We didn't have to wait long and we didn't ask for anything given the wait, but they gave us a couple free appetizers to make up for it. The staff was very friendly and apologetic. I'm not from Atlanta so I can't say how it compares to other nearby restaurants but the food was very good. Many of the sushi rolls are named after movies, and give more variety than what you normally find. We got a few to share. Our favorite was The Lion King. The rolls are a bit pricey but very big. We split 3 rolls among 3 people and left very full. They also give a discount for diners who come before dinner starts, so get there near opening if you want a late lunch. 😁

The ambience is absolutely beautiful. It would perfect for a date night. I feel like the prices are pretty good for the portion sizes. Highly recommend

Get the huge shrimp!! The tuna, salmon, and eel rolls we ordered were also good. Our server was great, food came out fast, and there’s free parking in the deck behind the restaurant.

Fresh, quality sashimi. Good portions. Good prices (especially for the location)- plus, they do a small discount on dine in orders before 5pm. Tremendous customer service- one of the highlights of my visit. I went during the midday midweek hours so parking was easy (free garage around corner). Ordered salmon land, spicy tuna roll, and shrimp shumai- recommend all. Good casual AND date night restaurant. Will be coming back.

Excellent! Had a variety of rolls, shumai, Korean golbi, and more. Every dish was better than the last, and the service was exceptional.

The sushi was great! They have an expansive menu and the quality of the fish was excellent. Salmon sashimi melted in your mouth. I got the Jurassic Park and one other roll that I can’t remember the name of. Fairly priced as well. I did takeout and they gave me all the sauces packed neatly, had it ready to go on time, and even gave me a miso soup on the house. Would definitely come back.

This is a great sushi restaurants with plenty of options. The service was great, although we went there a bit late and the waitress was very nice. The prices were reasonable. Make sure you try the Negitoro roll and spicy tuna. There was no wait time on a weekday and they quickly served the food. Sake was served in small glasses although it was not as strong as hard liquor, so you might want to order sth else or get the bottles.

It was a very nice late lunch. We were treated to a free appetizer. The seaweed salad was small but was flavorful. We got two signature rolls and "Finding Nemo" was a winner.

Fantastic food and services! Too bad I don’t live near by. I would eat here everyday if I live in the neighborhood.

I tried the Sweet Chili Shrimp & Yakitoria with Green Tea Cheesecake. Couldn’t decide on sushi rolls, but can’t wait to return & some.

This restaurant is so great!! Amazing ambiance with soothing music and wonderful service. The food was fresh and had great flavor too!!

Been taking our kids here since they were in elementary school. Still a neighborhood gem and the yummiest spot for a great date nite too. Can def say the food is great for takeout too. But the quaint patio is going to the perfect evening fall spot !! Favorites: spicy tuna Tatare and in the roll, crab salad, salmon don, truffle pompano sashimi app and the edamame and ginger dressing with new Shroom green bean roll for our non fish eating family member.

I'm updating this review having eaten here 10+ times now, and I'd argue this is one of the best sushi restaurants in Atlanta. If you're feeling adventurous, I highly recommend the omakase. That said, you can't really go wrong with anything on the menu.

Everything was amazing. The best filet I've had in years. Service was top notch.

I ordered from postmates, they gave me a free 2 lbs of tempura shrimp. Their miso soup that the sushi entree came with was awesome, each roll was delicious and even though tuna was ordered for almost all of the 7 rolls ordered, they all tasted so different. It’s my favorite sushi spot. I also got udon calamari for some reason and it was way better than I thought it would be- I’ll only order from here from now on. They were also really fast even though it was a huge order.

Excellent food and amazing service. Give them a try. a lovely Indian lady was our server. Food was quick perfect temp and an updated traditional taste. Texture was amazing. You can tell they use true fresh well sourced ingredients. It was a pleasure

Possibly the best sushi I've ever had. The staff was incredibly courteous and friendly. Definitely not something I could afford on a regular basis, but the experience here made an already special occasion even more special. Treat yourself to the warm sake! I'm grateful for the experience.

This is one of our most favorite places in ATL. Edamame, miso soup and shumai is in our orders every time, they are delicious! The service is great and the atmosphere is very ambient. Definitely recommend.

WOWZA!! This place was great! Staff super friendly, atmosphere is nice with gentle piano music playing over the speakers. Oh yeah, and the food! Couldn’t have been better! The Spivey twister roll, with the filet hibachi was perfectly cooked. The hot honey orange tea was a nice fresh treat! Oh yes, a don’t forget to try the green tea cheesecake! Excellent find in the Buckhead area of Atlanta!

Absolutely amazing! The food and service were outstanding — everything came out fresh, fast, and full of flavor. Our server Kush was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. The sushi (especially the Lion King Roll) was incredible. Definitely one of the best sushi spots in Buckhead — highly recommend! 🍣👏

I’ve been eating at Starfish for 15 years. I’ve tried so many other sushi restaurants in and around Atlanta and nothing comes close to the quality, price, and atmosphere of Starfish. I used to dine in a lot and now I regularly order take out. Everything I order is above expectations and I’ve never gotten anything bad. You can tell they care about what they are doing and the product they put out. The Chirashi Don is the best deal for what you get in my opinion, but you really can’t go wrong with what you order. I switch it up all the time.

Honestly. I’m always picky about the sushi I eat and there’s one spot in the world I eat at back in San Diego. So when I usually eat sushi somewhere else I’m not too happy. This is the one spot I’m actually happy eating the sushi. Very delicious, the fish was honesty really good and the staff is super friendly. You still don’t come close to my favorite spot. But you are better than everywhere else I been to. Especially Nobu, much better than Nobu.

I found this place by accident. I was leaving a video shoot and since it was Friday I was in the mood for some fish. I looked across the street and found Starfish. Crossed the street and ventured inside. The vibe is trendy and cool. I sat down and order dumplings and a salad to dine in and a California Roll and Monster Roll to go. The salad and dumplings were wonderful. The host was very nice and the food was expertly prepared. I’ll be back with my better half. But yeah, go here!

We had the most delicious sushi and noodle dish! The service was incredible! Everything was so fresh and because it was a special birthday, they brought over an appetizer and a dessert. I will definitely be back. This is a very special place with a beautiful atmosphere and impeccable food and service. Very calm and low key too. Highly highly recommend!

Great FRESH sushi spot with soothing and relaxing vibes. The service is incredible. I highly recommend any of the fresh sushi or nigiri. The roll names are also fun. And the ginger carrot dressing with the edamame (that they make in house) is sent from the gods. Please go and enjoy.

Lovely and cozy intimate setting with delicious and fresh sushi. The dipping sauce that comes with the edamame is alone worth the visit! Wonderful service and convenient parking.

Food was amazing. The tempura was perfectly fried and the vegetables were perfectly tender and toothsome. Sushi was high quality fish and tasted great. Cool aesthetic and great service.

I came to Starfish looking for a sushi place to eat at that opened before 5. The atmosphere was clean & quaint! My friend and I were the only two in the restaurant at the time. The food was quick and delicious! We were offered free spring rolls and they tasted great. I had the yellowtail appetizer which tasted very fresh and the KungFu Panda roll which was also very good! We enjoyed the experience and our food very much and will definitely be back!

Loved our time here, the restaurant was so cute. All the employees really nice and friendly and sweet to us. The ambiance felt casual but still good for date night. Not a ton of seating but we didn’t have to wait on a Friday night. It was crowded but not too crowded, quiet enough to talk comfortably. Will come back. I liked all the rolls we got except add more salt to edamame ;)

Rianna was amazing! Loved the ambiance, she took care of us right when we settled in, amazing service and she was very attentive with us. Valentine’s Day was very special this evening, so the biggest thank you to her and the chefs. We will definitely be back!

The service was great! Our servers were friendly and attentive. Sushi was okay. Although, it seemed fresh. I would highly recommend their fried sweet chili shrimp and their green tea cheesecake cake. Will be returning to try out their other sushi!

First time stopping by on a weekday night around 7PM, and I was surprised that only 1 table was occupied. I was also worried bc it had white table cloths (signifies overpriced, bad food in my books), but overall, our experience was very pleasant. I saw that they make all their sauces in-house and was intrigued. We ordered 3 rolls and a hibachi dish. I’d definitely recommend the rolls as the quality of the fish were fresh, but skip the hibachi unless you were expecting teriyaki. They gave a lot of items for free, like edamame and miso soup, as well as a choice of tiramisu or green tea cheesecake. My husband really enjoyed the cheesecake. Service was a bit slow, considering only 2 tables were occupied. Free parking in the back, and a great atmosphere for a date. Restrooms were clean, which was also a plus.

The food was ok. The service was ok. The atmosphere was not great. We wanted to sit at the sushi bar but was utilized as staging area for to-go food. It felt like they cater to the to-go orders more than diners.

This review has a long time coming from 3+ years of being a customer at this restaurant. The food takes way too long to be prepared. I would say come in on a weekday but that doesn't even matter. 1 roll and side is 60+ min of wait. If you order takeout don't listen to the estimate, just assume it will take 1+ hour to get ready. They try to make it up by giving free soup, edamame, or salad but it just goes to waste of I don't like Miso soup or order other starters. It is a sad thing because the food is great but not much has changed in the past years.
