This is the 3rd time we've been there always enjoyed it we're from Los Banos and when we crave real good Italian food this is our stop Folks that work there are very friendly and helpful
Freshly made hand toss crust and pizza is delicious. Friendly service and fast. Gotta try it.
Had an excellent service from our Waitress. Our food was perfect and the prices were reasonable.
The best pizza around. Great wine lists, wonder staff and lots of great pizza choices!
This was our first time here food was excellent we will definitely be going back next time take out I was disappointed in the service of our waitress not very genuine
They pizza is amazing. Support local business. Friendly staff. Highly recommended.
Can't go wrong with Tary's. Love Dominico's. Greasy. Yummy. Tasty. Always worth any wait and love the bubbles.
Best pizza.
Great linguica pizza, our family has gone here since I was a kid and they have yet to disapoint.
One of our favorite pizza places. Been getting pizza here since the 70's.
The staff is very good i got to the place a lil late they reopend kitchen to me my family hot wings and garlic bread awsome i will be back
Great crust, delicious toppings. The rosemary wings were very tasty.
One of very few great restaurants in the entire valley. Support your mom and pops restaurant or soon Will all be eating dominos.
Great food. Great Service. Love the Spaghetti & Meatballs. The Best Ever
I've been eating here for over 30 years. Its the best pizza I have had and continues to be. It's one of those small town places that you just cant miss.
2nd visit! Love the food! Orderd the veggie sandwich...came with a good sized salad 🥗..I am ordering pizza on my 3rd visit 😋
My family has been going here since I can remember (30+ years). Best pizza in town and better than anything I've had on the east coast!
The bread is made fresh here. Pizza is greater. The owners work hard and are so friendly. The waiter's strove to give best service.
My husband took me here recently for the first time as a date n when I mean this is the best pizza n hot wings I’ve had I mean it’s the best!!! Like we’re definitely going back for sure!
Probably the best Italian restaurant around and by far the best pizza you can get anywhere in the valley the garbage pizza and the super Domenico's are both amazing their pastas are good also
💕love Tarys pizza. Although I noticed a change in the pizza dough. It is a little too flat. What happened? I loved the bubbles in the dough.
Real italian cooking, home made taste and TLC put into the food. Don't be in a rush to eat here, that's not what eating at Tary's is about. It's about going, enjoying the 1940-1950's italian atmosphere, the company, and most importantly the great food. I always get pizza and pasta, sandwiches are great, but I'd recommend you try the all you can eat clam chowder on Fridays for lunch and calamari.
One of the top pizza places in the valley! It is definitely a hidden gem. Get the fried tortellinis and a Domenicos. The staff is always super friendly!
Luigi and his beautiful wife are handling Tary's very well. I love to see this iconic Atwater restaurant come back to it's deserved glory.
Great Italian food!
My whole family loves the food here!!! The staff here is amazing!! There is NO other pizza place that even comes close to Tary's!!!
Great family restaurant! The guys making the pizza were more than happy to let my son watch and teach him all about the art of pizza. Thank you guys!
Best pizza in the world! Nice outdoor dining on the back patio. Worth cheating on a diet for. Their pizza recipe must live on!
An absolute gem of an old school Italian joint in Atwater. Hands down, no question, hang-it-up, stop asking the best pizza in Atwater & Merced and it’s not even close.
This place is awesome! Love their pizza! The staff was wonderful! Everyone should visit!
All you can eat clam chowder on Friday at lunch, comes with outrageous garlic bread! Pizzas are great also I am told.
Ive been coming here with my family since childhood, and they just absolutely have the best fried tortellini ever, and their fettuccini with cream & spinach is also to die for - has that perfect fresh parmesan cheese texture. Always a happy belly after eating here!
I (and my entire family...which is pretty large) have been coming to Tary's since the 60's. This has always been our go-to place for pizza or anything Italian. Continuously family-owned and operated by the Boscolo family since about 1960, they have just recently changed their business-model and now do not offer dine-in....take out only. Times are changing.... The food has not changed though. Still the best pizza in the Central Valley. I love this place! I don't live in California anymore, but when I visit, I always make time for Tary's!
This is a diamond in a rough. If you've lived here you know you have to make a stop here. The best Italian dishes we have to offer and family made. Pizza, calzones, pastas and who can beat a meatball sub with fresh crispy shoestring fries. Try the natural with fresh veggies and a nice thick crust. So flippin delicious. Go check them out. No photos today bc I totally ate everything before I had the chance.
I've been coming here with my family for at least the last 15 years. Best pizza I've ever had! I've been living in the bay for the past 10 years and have to eat at Tary's anytime I come home to visit.
Great food, friendly service. I haven't been here in over six years, not much has changed. This will always be a top choice when I'm in this area.
Tarys Tarys Tarys...my favorite pizza and i love me some pizza. i lived in Monterey for over a decade and Luigi who makes his own clam chowder was by far better than any i’ve tried in Monterey or Santa Cruz. It’s only made on Fridays. their open for lunch on Fridays from 11:00-1:30pm dig it
Best pizza choices in this area with so much flavor. Hand tossed dough and fresh toppings are the standard here.
This past weekend we had a family reunion I ordered 6 extra lg 2 toping pizzas, a lg. Chicken Fettuccini, 2 lg antipasto for 5pm on Sat.I ordered the day before everything was done perfectly and was waiting for us to pickup right on time the food was excellent super service what a gem.
Would give it 6 stars, the dough is amazing and they let you order it if you want to make something if it at home also. Dinner was excellent and authentic, with the drive, for me 45 minutes, lol.
Debra is such a fantastic person! She took care of us all really well and was an absolute joy to be around! Pizza was great too but she made our first time here feel so welcoming.
We moved here 3 years ago and have always thought this place was closed. I am so glad we found out it wasn’t after all. I ordered a pizzas to go and they were amazing. You can tell the crust is home made. When I picked up my pizza, the place was packed! Definitely going back
Tary Boscolo's is always delicious! Love the pizza and the friendly staff. We had a beer and cheesey bread while we waited for our pizza and it was so good! Highly recommend.
Wow, great Service and delicious food! We moved here from Monterey and finding a place with good food and service was our mission. At Tary’s we got both great service from a gal named Anabel and the food there is fantastic. A must visit place to visit and eat with the family.
Not a classy place but the pizza is outstanding. My first time here. Service was fine and friendly. My friend had a calzone. Huge is the best description....and great. Gotta check this place out.
Been going here since I was a kid. Always loved watching them toss the dough & now my kids do too. My grandma got me hooked on the Domenico. Third place is hard to beat!
OMG, OMG, OMG! We had the large garbage pizza thin crust and it was so delicious, crispy on the bottom and the flavor of the pizza, wow! We arrived around 4 pm when they opened. No parking issues at all. The atmosphere was quaint, unique and loved hearing Italian music. I will only go back there for their pizza but I do want to try another dinner dish. If your in Atwater go there, I highly recommend it!
I've lived here all my life and I'm also ashamed of myself for not ever coming until this evening! This place is amazing. Its private, service is prompt and food was fresh and phenomenal. The salad was crispy and the chicken marsala was delicious. The chicken alfredo with fettuccini was spot on. I look forward to coming here again and again to find my favorite dish off their menu!
My mother had lasagna here when she took the pregnancy test that resulted positive 27 years ago. It's a shame it took me this long to finally discover this place for myself. Delicious food, friendly service. I saw the owner calmly and gently explaining to a little girl why she shouldn't run indoors, and his manner was so kind. Plus the chefs toss the pizzas in the air, so how could I resist a five star review?
Classic! Garlic pizza is the bomb today and throughout my childhood. Love this place! Old school dive Italian place!
Love Tary's for a very long time. A true family establishment and lots of memories. Food is always great! Love the bar! I just hope they can fix up the back patio for thise cool spring & summer evenings. Maybe a garden with fresh herbs! Always a treat to eat here!'
quite possibly the best pizza I’ve had in my life I had their pepperoni pizza and the ratio of bread to sauce is perfect, incredibly soft yet slightly crispy dough is to die for 5 stars all around, a gem to the Atwater Community
This place is amazing. I have been coming here ever since I was a kid. Best pizza in town hands down. Has a great bar in the back and great customer service. If you plan on eating on a Friday or Saturday beware it gets busy so head there early!
OK, guys. I am ashamed to admit I have been in the Atwater area for the last 12 years.....and this is my FIRST TIME HERE! We went here for dinner. It was POPPING! It was a busy night, and there were a couple of parties on the patio; all that being said, we were there for maybe an hour-hour and a half. Our food came out in stages, and our drinks stayed full. (Big kudos for this) I didn't get our sweet waitress' name, but the receipt said Isabel, anyhow she had dark hair & pretty blue nails. It was apparent that tonight was an off night. Apparently, someone passed out, and another person quit; so the service was slower than normal (based on how other customers were acting). All of that to be said, our waitress was sweet and stayed on top of our needs. The meal was like a night at Nona's. My Italian hubby was stoked & said this brought back childhood memories of his Italian family's houses. Had the Dino & Frank (music) in the background. It was a meal and a good ambiance. It was a little dated for decor - but c'mon....who's Nona's house is modern? Despite the chaos....we will be back. Still need to try those fried Oreos. Also, for those who are soda snobs (raises hand) they have Pepsi products.
I have lived here majority of my life and have never been here. Today we went and I wish I would have came decades ago!! Chicken marsala was amazing! The pizza was amazing. Fettuccine Alfredo was great. But the star player was that cheese bread!!!! Cheese bread gets a 6 stars!! I will definitely be back!

We love Tary's and will keep coming back as long as they are here. We usually order pizza, which is amazing, and the antipasto salad, but other dishes are good too. They have a full bar, but I wouldn't recommend ordering a very complicated cocktail--it's not that kind of place. The atmosphere is a modest, home-town vibe and locals will almost always see someone they know there. One complaint I have is that when you order a large, family-style salad it comes without serving utensils, so everyone just has to dig into it with their fork and whatever they can find. I think this is odd and I've always wondered why they can't just scrounge up a couple extra forks/spoons. One bonus is getting to watch them tossing the pizza dough up in the air--kids love it.
My husband and I had lasagna and baked raviolis. Beoth were delicious and piping hot directly from the oven. The server was friendly and efficient. We’re definitely going back soon.
Had dinner Monday eve. Restaurant is old school charm, food was excellent and so was the service. Sat at the bar, enjoyed meat lovers pizza and a nice fresh salad. Enjoyed a bottle of chianti with a good friend and visited with the bartender. I'll be back, if your reading this review, you should visit too. Ron and Erin
Since I moved away I have missed this place! I was able to enjoy this pizza again with family and it did not disappoint. Really wish we had one where I live now!
All the people here are very friendly. From the moment you walk in you are treated like family! We had a couple questions about the menu or what was in a particular dish and the waitress was able to answer easily. She knew the menu and the dishes. Our food came in a reasonable amount of time, getting appetizers, soup, salad and main course. We did not get any deserts because we were full from our meals, we even took some home for later! My husband wanted something meaty so he ordered some raviolis with sausage, meat sauce. He was very happy with his selection, it was filling. I ordered a cheese tortellini with alfredo sauce. It was so good, even though I was full, I still wanted to keep eating! Many things here are "home made" including the bread. This isn't just bread, it's real hand made, home made bread and it's delicious. We took home some of each dish and some garlic cheese bread. I enjoyed eating the leftovers for lunch the next day. Prices weren't bad. I believe our meals were under $20 each, and included the main dish, soup or salad and bread.
GREAT Italian food! Servers are quick and attentive. Since everything is made fresh it can take a little while for your order to be ready. Worth the wait - this is authentic Italian. Hand made pasta and sauces, plus the bread is amazing.
Best small town family owned Italian restaurant. First time there with my son passing threw from Sacramento and we Love it.

Food is tasty but be prepared to wait for a while, we sat in the back patio and took a long time for us to get our food
It was a very nice experience. Food was tasty, sufficient and the presentation vas good. I asked for an expresso, didn't come. The rest, good.
pizza is delicious, i just wish they had the adams family pinball game. 4 stars for that reason only
Good pizza and food on general. New owners have reopened the location for dining, but the pizza quality has dropped while prices have gone way up.
I attended a baby shower for my BFF's daughter. Good atmosphere great crew.. loved the Hank pizza 👣💕
Great food! Pizza is amazing. Service is not so great. After we got our pie, she never came back for drink refills.
Good pizza the only complaint I have is when I order a extra large pizza I expect ot to feed my family ill even pay the extra for it I got a extra large pizza and it was the size of a small it didn't even fill half the box. Maybe it was a mistake who know.but good pizza
I went there as an invitation to have dinner. Everything was good, except the pizza crust could have been cooked a little more. It was under cooked. Service was excellent, but there was only 6 customers in the restaurant.
Whenever I am in the Atwater area I have to grab a pie at Tarys. The all meat with garlic is awesome! They hand toss em old school style right in front where you can see. The prices are a bit high, and the pizza is a bit greasy. But this is by far the best pizza in the area. You won't be dissapointed if you make a stop here.
Pizza is the best! The other menu items did not impress. Decor is plain. Staff is like family owened = excellent service. hand thrown pizza were you can watch. Great dine in and take out.
Good pizIts It's been here in Atwater as long as I can remember.
Service was fast and pleasant. The Italian dressing wasn't what I am use to. But I kind of liked it. I think next time I will stick to garlic toast as I had the cheesy garlic toast. I thought the cheese kind of over powered it. I thought the lasagna could of done with a little more seasoning. It had the right amount of meat, sauce and cheese, though. I couldn't finish it so will have lunch for tomorrow.
Been here a couple times now. I haven't been disappointed. The Italian food has kept it's great taste throughout time. It's environment is soothing and culture mixed. Having an outside setting is nice and convenient. The light's compliment it's surrounding. Great pasta food around town.
I don’t know much about Italian style food, but their pizza was great, Nice, thin crunchy pizza. The only really complaint I have is that the ranch is really thin, I prefer thick ranch.

One of the best pizzas I have , with a lot of topping, is a little expensive, but for the quality food I am willing to pay it I order two large pizzas for a total of $80 , I also try the calamari with pesto bread it was very yummy. The only thing is the chairs are too low and uncomfortable , the service was friendly and fast to delivery order. I will suggest trying it out if you like Italian food 😋

Food was great as expected but the service sucked i believe i just was in the wrong section i saw my server 4 times when she showed us are table when drinks came when food came and when i got up to leave i had to find her to get my check
First, I haven't been in years. I tried to like this place and went 4-5 times before I gave up. The food was so-so, very pricey, and the service mediocre at best.
The main dish of spaghetti and meatballs was good (tasted average). The garlic bread included was dull and seemed as though it was soaked in garlic, but not much flavor. I mean it's alright for a place in Atwater.
It was hot in that restaurant, but the food was good
Was a nice place for our group of 10 to get together in a nice courtyard setting to celebrate an adult's birthday. However, the pizza was expensive, arriving to the table cold and undercooked. Beer was nice and cold for those that ordered it. Our waitress was attempting to accommodate us, but I think they need to hire more help. There were other large groups there also that said the same thing. Could have just been an off night for the restaurant.
We have long loved Terrys, but have unfortunately been let down either with service or quality of food our last couple of visits. For a close to 50$ dollar pizza I’d expect much better; our last pizza was soggy, oily and bitter due to the crust being burned.
Worst indoor dining atmosphere unless you’re bringing 20 People mostly little kids. Old dishes, cheap silverware and had to request knives 3 times. However, the antipasto salad was great with crisp lettuce, plenty of meats and delicious vinaigrette (served in a plastic ramekin ). Homemade ranch and the pizza! Delicious freshly grated mozzarella, premium toppings and terrific crust flavor and texture. I think this is more of a TAKE OUT restaurant and we will try it that way I. The future.

I grew up coming to this restaurant and have very fond memories here. I even worked here as my very first real job, but! The service is just awful! None of the waitresses seemed to have a clue what they were doing. $60 for a Medium Pizza and one plate of Ravioli's that were no better than Ravioli from a can that we waited almost AN HOUR for. They brought out my appetizer soup AFTER I already got my meal. Brought us plates AFTER they brought our pizza which was very greasy and a little burnt, and they never ended up bringing us our garlic bread. Very disappointed in them, they need to get their stuff together.
Pizza was soggy like someone poured water on it....This was my first-time here I was excited about coming ..but it was so bad I can't even give it another try ☹️
I wish I could give them zero stars, what a joke. Had a salad that needed to be cut, pasta had the smallest shrimp I have ever seen. The quality of this place has gone down hill, don't waste your money.
Had another terrible experience here. Went to a retirement party. The bartender (owners wife) was perhaps the worst people person and completely ill prepared to do her job. She couldn't do anything. We waited for more than 25 minutes at the bar before we could order. Food was cold and no-one seemed to care. We will NEVER step foot Into that overpriced dump again.
We ordered a large Garbage style and we were very disappointed. The middle was raw and soggy. I will never order from there again or refer anyone to them.
Just ate here and was really offended by something one of the waitresses had said to my family and i. First we felt rushed and didnt recieve good service, then she asked for our phone number and told us, it was just in case we skipped and didnt pay our bill. Yet, we didnt hear her tell the family sitting across from us anything. Maybe it was because we were hispanic. Whatever the reason, weve been here several times over the past few years and probably wont be back.
I'm never going back. I've never been to a place that cares less about their customers. Don't park next to the RV in the parking lot or you will be forced to move mid meal. All in all I'm never eating there again. I trashed my order and took the hit. If I could post with less then one star I would.
0 STARS!!! Do not go here! We made a reservation three days before, called a day before to make sure they had our reservation. They claimed to have been super busy (they really weren’t). We ordered our food and it took TWO HOURS, after those two hours there were still 3 of us who hadn’t gotten a plate yet. We found a hair in our mozzarella sticks, our soups were cold, the chicken piccata tasted like you were biting into a lemon. They never gave us our bread that was supposed to be there with our appetizers until after an hour and a half. The pizza was super greasy, the pasta tasted like pasta water with a splash of tomato sauce. There was so much more but I’ll leave it at that… also one waitress was EXTREMELY rude., tried to pick a fight with my family by yelling through the whole restaurant. They made us pay for our food that we didn’t eat because half of our party was already done and we had barely gotten our food. We will NEVER go back and will tell everyone to NEVER GO THERE.
Terrible customer service and terrible owner. They have their preferred customers. We were not welcomed we were given attitude and side eyes for coming in 1 hour before closing and we all felt totally unwelcome and uncomfortable. We even got up and left before we can finish half of our meal. My sister paid the FULL tab and we left all the food and drinks there and left because of how uncomfortable it felt. The young guy tried coming out the back and getting in my face because I told them how terrible their customer service was but he was all bark no bite.
I went there last night and the food took WAY TOO LONG to get it out and the old man in the back was yelling at his staff and I felt extremely bad for his workers. The food tasted not fresh and there was a mouse that ran under my table and I tried telling the staff but they just blew me off. Not to mention I felt sick after eating there and that has never happened to me before. Don’t waste your time coming here, ur better going to McDonald’s. It’s cheaper and faster anyways.
Wish I could give it less, I came in about 6 maybe 6:30 on the 9th of May, the food tasted like stale cardboard or something, my first time coming here there was a younger guy, had blonde hair and usually wore a mask. Wasnt able to get his name but that isn’t important. and this time on the 9th was only an older one. After eating there tonight I am now throwing up and stuck on the toilet. The pizza was burnt and the pasta was over cooked and took hours to get to me when I just ordered a simple dish. Their food was better and came out faster, but with this other older guy, they’re just slower getting food out. I don’t know what happened since the last time I was there but I will never come back again and wouldn’t recommend it unless you want to get sick and feel like your dying like myself 😭🤮
Service was so bad we didnt even stay to eat
The food here is WAY overpriced for what it is. $33.00+ for a large pizza????? And the center is soggy and stuck to the paper they put in the box. This was an expensive mistake. Better off going to Round Table. Better pizza at a better price.

The food here is WAY overpriced for what it is. $33.00+ for a large pizza????? And the center is soggy and stuck to the paper they put in the box. This was an expensive mistake. Better off going to Round Table. Better pizza at a better price.
