The pastries are always great here - nice and fresh. Service is good as well. There's such a nice variety of pastries to choose from. Their teas and coffees are nice as well.
Best bakery I've ever eaten at in the United States! All the pastries were so delicious with unique flavors! The dough was very fresh and delicious! Be careful when trying this place because you'll get hooked forever!
The spinach kale danish and the peach green tea are my go-to’s. Helpful staff and unbeatable prices! Thanks to the person at the register that let me know about the buy one get one deal on the 85 roll and let me grab another one after checkout! :D
It's a nice spot for coffee and a sweet treat! They have an amazing vanilla latte. I didn't have to wait long at all because they are so quick! It's hard not to grab so many items from the bakery, especially all the Choco Buns! The Chocolate Fudge Muffin is also an awesome substitute if the Choco Buns are not available! I highly recommend this place if you're looking for caffeine, a sweet treat, or even a snack since they have the Ham and Cheese breads.
I love this place - I’ve been twice now and both times have been fantastic. The pastries are soooo good. I don’t remember the exact names but today I got a cheese danish kind and a stuffed berry muffin kind and they were just mood elevatingly delicious. I have also had some of the savory pastries and they’re pretty good, probably best when fresh. I would love to come back and try some of the drinks and other case items at the counter. The pastries are also just definitely excellent and a visit for those alone would be enough! Staff have always been welcoming and friendly also. Awesome shop and definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!
Great variety of food and snacks and bakery goods. They have some really good cakes which you can order a slice of. The coffee was really good but only warm instead of hot, but maybe that’s their style. If you like bakery’s this place won’t disappoint.
Such a wonderful spot! They have a wide range of pastries and drinks, always fresh and full of flavor. It does get crowded, but that just shows how much people love this place. Prices are very reasonable, and they even have some seating if you’d like to sit down and enjoy your treats. A must-visit if you’re in the area!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Weekly Favorite That Never Misses 7/27/2025 My wife and I visit 85°C Bakery Cafe every week, and every single time, they deliver nothing but excellence. This morning’s visit was no different — warm, soft pastries and top-tier service that keeps us coming back. We picked up our usual: the Hokkaido Custard Bun, Hawaiian Chicken bread, Milk Pudding, two Mochi Egg Tarts, and our favorite drinks — the Café Latte and, of course, the Tiger Boba Latte. Let me just say: I’ve tried a lot of boba around Austin, and nothing comes close to 85°C’s Tiger Boba Latte. It’s rich, perfectly balanced, and always hits the spot. Easily the best boba in Austin. The staff here are always kind and welcoming, and it’s become a tradition for us to swing by after our walk around Lady Bird Lake. This place is more than a bakery — it’s a comforting part of our routine. The breads are always fresh, unbelievably soft, and full of flavor. We absolutely love this spot and highly recommend it to anyone in the area. Whether you’re new to boba, a pastry lover, or just want a cozy place with consistently great food and drinks — 85°C is the place to be. Thank you for always making our mornings so Beautiful ! 🙌
I’ve ordered cakes from here three times now. All the cakes are absolutely DELICIOUS and so beautiful. It will always be my go to when needing a cake. I would like to mention the cashiers have never once checked me out with a smile or happy look on their face. Not bad service just very mundane. But that doesn’t stop me from buying their incredible cakes!
A go-to when I visit Austin! Love how everything I've tried has been absolutely yummy and not expensive at all. Bonus points for the staff being welcoming and sweet. Even though this place can get pretty busy, they always keep it well stocked! I recognize literature anything with the Hokkaido custard!
This is the best chain of Asian bakery. It's a 2 hour drive from my house but so so worth it. First, this is my first time at this location but I frequented one in Orange County when I lived there two years ago. The concept is the exact same. So I loaded up my tray with a ton of baked goods. I always buy a ton of the egg tarts. They are so creamy! The red bean paste filled buns are also so good. The softness of the bread seems unreal. They are reasonably priced (about $2.50 a bun) and just so fantastic. I also love their drink selections. I recommend the mango slush! The staff is always so friendly and willing to help you select the perfect treat.
Why can't San Antonio have THIS bakery?!?! Every time we go to Austin we come home with lots of goodies from here. We love all the variety. Everything is individually wrapped and tastes fresh. Their drinks are good too...boba is the right consistency. We all get one for the drive back. Great service and clean store. Definitely worth a visit!
If you've been to one 85°C, you'll be familiar with all of them. They're very consistent in terms of offering fluffy, flavorful, not too sweet pastries and savory pastries. Parking here is near impossible on weekends, just get the closest parking you can in the plaza and walk over. This one is a little odd in terms of ordering drinks. There is a kiosk to order drinks from, but the kiosk does not let you customize sweetness. Ordering at the counter, you can still customize sweetness. The green milk tea boba we got was decently flavorful, but way too much ice and the boba was too firm for my taste. It's really luck of the draw - some days they nail it, other days the boba is left too long. Pastry selection availability was reasonable for dropping in mid-day.
This Bakery is one of my regular stops whenever I’m in Austin. I keep coming back because their pastries are good and there’s usually plenty to choose from. I haven’t tried their bubble teas, but I have had the Americano and liked it. Service is pretty quick. The staff usually seem busy, which makes sense, but they’ve been nice. The space feels more like a place to grab something, eat, and head out rather than stay a while. That’s probably part of why there’s no internet there. Still, it’s a solid spot, and I’ll keep coming back when I’m in town.
Came here on a Saturday morning, around brunch time (not for brunch of course). This kind of brought back a certain amount of nostalgia from a chain called "BreadTalk" that I used to go to as a kid. Certainly it's not as cheap and the portions aren't as big as they used to be (at least in my memories of childhood), but it felt startlingly similar. Perhaps this concept was actually originated in Taiwan. Prices are reasonable (i.e. American-style expensive), check-out is slow and be prepared to stand in line because they don't have enough cashiers. Not that much seating space either and doesn't seem like they're cleaning it that frequently. Had the Hokkaido cream bun and it was amazing. A lot of my misgivings with this place kind of dissolved when I tasted that, hence the 4-star review. Bathrooms are annoyingly locked, c'mon I'm a paying customer but it'll take forever to ask the cashier to unlock them.
I like 85C bakery enough to stop by once in a while but don’t think they are amazing. The pastry is sweet but not overly sweet like American bakery which is good. But somehow lots of the pastry like taro and pineapple buns are too plain and bit bland for me. I feel overall the price to quality ratio isn’t there.
The place is nice. They have good quality breads and if you want eat good fresh breads, eat in store. We had ordered a Black Forest for a birthday but I personally felt the taste was not great with the outer layer looking yummy but the inside layer was hard and didn’t taste as well as I thought it would. I would say overall it is a 3/5 but would have rated lower had I not tasted some of the fresh breads.
I ordered a mango creme brulee cake for my husband's birthday online for pickup. When I opened it at home, the mangoes looked really green like melons, and I thought they were melons before I bite one. When I bit into it, to my disappointment, all of the fruit on top of the cake were green unripe mangoes. Some were a little more yellow but still unripe and very hard to bite. What a shame! We had a good strawberry cake and a dark forest cherry cake here before but this one was bad. I would have driven back to return but don't live nearby.
