Love this place! It’s one of our go-to restaurants. The food is great…breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Best menudo in Austin. Great breakfast tacos. For lunch or dinner some of our favorites are the ceviche tostadas, enchiladas verde, asada tacos, and the caldo. Actually anything we’ve tried has been great! The servers are friendly and attentive, especially Julian and Cero. Great place for a weekend breakfast, a weeknight dinner when ya don’t wanna cook, a group birthday lunch, or a Friday night dinner with margaritas. It is definitely worth trying if you haven’t tried them before…you’ll be back!

My family and I have been regulars here for a long time, this place is consistent and does not disappoint. Margarita pitchers are reasonably priced and strong, the food is always hot and flavorful. This most recent time we had Julián as our server and he was fantastic, he made sure we had everything we needed and made great conversation with us. We love this place!

The best Mexican food restaurant in Austin is El Nuevo Mexico! We love everything about this restaurant. Our server tonight was Joselyn — very attentive. The enchiladas are delicious and the margaritas divine. My favorite dish is Nuevo’s Pollo. These folks are always welcoming and friendly. You will not be disappointed.

I love El Nuevo — I come here at least once a week and they always know my whole order. The food is always fresh and delicious, and the service never disappoints. Everyone is friendly and attentive, and Zero is truly the best! She always makes sure everything is perfect. It’s one of those spots you can always count on for a great meal! 🌮

Had dinner here for first time and I was impressed by everything that we've got. I am now a fan of their bistec. Agua frescas are made fresh, along with their fresh homemade tortillas. Green enchiladas were also great. I will be back to try more of their menu! Good stuff and very nice staff!

Austin born here. Gotta say the chips and tortillas are house made and great on their own! We were met with fully fresh made salsa which is my litmus test for a good Tex Mex place. The burrito was perfect and the tacos are definitely on point. Do yourself a favor and check this place out for what I remember Tex Mex being before the Californication of Austin. If you are looking for bs fancy plates in between your sushi critiques, this isn't for you. If you want properly made fresh Tex Mex down home style, go here.

Good food and good friendly staff. If you want to have a gathering or birthday parties, this is a good place with plenty of room. I come here very often and different atmosphere too, always running into someone I know or my family knows.

Great dishes served on hot plates, fresh fruit, and friendly staff. I love their green sauce and pretty much everything they serve is fantastic. The place is popular and a local favorite. Large screens for watching the Austin FC game. I'll be back.

Great service. Nice roomy layout and lots of free parking. Table chips and salsa are very flavorful. The started with the Queso which was smooth and tasty. I had the Super Plato which is a crispy taco and cheese enchiladas. Of particular note they did very well with the beans and chili gravy. Both were flavorful and formed a good base for the other components. Well definitely be adding this to our normal rotation. I want to come back on Tuesdays to try the mini street taco plate.

Picked up food for lunch I got the chicken tossed in the green chilli Verde sauce. Delicious. The beans and rice were well cooked and went super well with the chicken. Can't wait to try the other dishes

This place isn’t talked about as much as, say, Matt’s El Rancho or El Patio, but I truly believe it is the best tex mex in austin. The food was out of this world and the atmosphere is very homey in a way that reminds me of the restaurants my family would visit growing up. Breakfast is served all day. Chicken fajita meat might be the best I’ve ever had

Good tastes good, and great presentation of it too. Polite, helpful, and efficient service. We ordered chicken quesadillas and beef fajitas. Overall, we had a good experience. I see it as a great place to meet with friends or have an unofficial business meeting.

Stopped into this spot after big star bingo and was pleasantly surprised with the food and level of service. We got the stuffed avocado and grande burrito covered with queso. Both plates packed great flavors and we also enjoyed the red salsa with chips which they give you as a complementary appetizer. The house margarita is a very reasonable price around $6 and tasted pretty good! Moreover than the food, we really enjoyed how attentive the servers were with chips and drink refills which is hard to find these days. Would recommend stopping in if you are in the area and craving some mexican food.

The food was good tex-mex home style. Clean restaurant and simple atmosphere. Looks like they have a full service bar although we didn't have drinks. The servers were nice and friendly. The pricing seemed slightly higher than some other highly recommended places. I'd definitely recommend you give it a try!

𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝟑 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐬. Stopped in on a whim for lunch. I ordered the lunch special, which was the option between a few entrées and a side. I got the beef burrito and chicken enchilada with a side of refried beans. Unfortunately, the food didn’t do too much to impress and served its purpose without being too memorable. A fine dining experience, quick service, friendly staff, but simple ingredients and a simple meal that kind of left a bit to be desired. Portion size was OK. Obviously, free chips and salsa. Probably wouldn’t revisit, but fine for a one time stop.
