Very unassuming place but delighted to stop in this restaurant. It has a small menu but large in flavors. A Singapore/Vietnamese fusion of flavors. We had some blooming flower tea which was super light and perfect for the rainy day. The decor was very relaxing and clean. It's a very cozy place yet you feel relaxed here. All the food was amazing. The name of the restaurant is a bit misleading. It makes it sound like a grab and go place, but this is a secret date place to tell you the truth. Fantastic atmosphere and the servers are amazing. Definitely a recommend!
Great place. Dishes were delicious. Service needs to be quicker.
Last weekend, 1/10/2026, my girlfriend and I visited Austin for the first time. After missing our original dinner reservation, we were unsure of where to go and eventually ended up at Bun Belly. As soon as we walked in, Truc greeted us and reassured us there would only be a 5 minute wait. We sat at the bar and Truc recommended us a sake to try since we were unsure of which to choose. It was my first time trying pho and Truc made it a great experience. This man deserves a raise for sure! His service had me convinced he was the owner. If we are ever back in Austin, we will definitely be sure to stop by again. Thanks for a memorable meal!
Food is amazing fresh, earthly. Chicken was fall off the bone wasn't dry. Place is too empty for how good the food is. On top of the food being on point its mood lit with smooth jazz playing perfect for a date night.
We came near closing time, and staff was so nice! The interior decor is gorgeous and the food is definitely higher quality compared to normal phó restaurants. The table ordered salt and pepper tofu , it was crispier than any other dish I have tried. If you’re looking to stay warm this upcoming holiday, come in and enjoy the food!
We’ve been here a handful of times now and the food and service never disappoints! My favorite is the Pho, but their bahn mi, chicken dinner and sober noodle are fantastic too! Their prices are also so reasonable for the amount of food you get. HIGHLY recommend!
I ordered the Chicken Pad Thai. It was super easy to order online. They even designate which dishes are vegetarian and without wheat. Big chunks of chicken, the right amount of peanuts, and a generous amount of sweet, spicy sauce (for me). The bowl looked small, but there was so much food packed in. Definitely would try other dishes there and dine in next time. The restaurant was very clean and decorated nicely. Staff were very friendly when I came in to get my order.
First time with my family for late dinner. We ordered Hanoi egg roll for appetizer, Vietnamese crepe (my wife’s favorite), chicken phở for my children and chicken over rice with side salad. All were very flavorful, and very well-seasoned with good portion. My wife and I usually cook at home and the dishes were like home-cooked. They even have gluten-free dishes. Very nice ambiance, clean facility, and welcoming staff. One of our daughters was not having a good evening and the owner went out of her way to coax my little princess to eat with free desert (6 stars if I could). It’s now her favorite place, and ours!!! Thank you Ms. Kim 😀 Highly recommend this place for everyone , including Vietnamese customers. We’ll definitely be back!
Service: Great. They're so sweet and friendly. Restaurant: clean & well lit. The decor is nice. Pho: The broth is flavorful. I got the beef pho. It comes with brisket and eye round. I'm not a fan of brisket, in general, but it was still good. Shaken beef: I really like the flavor but the meat is a bit on the tougher side. The little side salad that comes with it, in place of the traditional pickled carrots/daikon/and lettuce, is also good. It has a light dressing on it which I like. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place.
A lovely little restaurant, really wanted to try the pho (next time) but went for something a little more refreshing since it was so hot outside. Got chicken vermicelli and the sauce that came with it was so delicious. My bf got pad Thai and we both loved it, it was very flavorful. The Thai tea wasn't as sweet as we would've liked it but overall we had a lovely lunch here. The complimentary water at every table was something we both appreciated as well! A side note, we both enjoyed the instrumental music playing, it really added to the vibe of the restaurant and it was fun trying to guess the songs with no lyrics.
We came in for dinner and got seated within few minutes. Service was a bit slow but the food was worth the wait. Enjoyed the ambience of this place. We got the eggplant bun and it was delicious. The eggplant was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The sauce was salty and sweet while the bun was soft and chewy. For entrees, we got beef and chicken pho. Enjoyed both of them, I felt the chicken pho could have some more stronger flavor
Decent spot for pho and unique menu items like the pho dip, serving was just enough to be filling and satisfied but not super full Came here pretty late in the evening, so there weren’t many people, and we actually stayed until past closing since we got there so late, but we weren’t rushed or kicked out I got the pho dip since I was pretty hungry and wanted a sandwich too, also it sounded interesting The dip (pho) came with a poached egg and two halves of a beef banhmi sandwich, I found it interesting that all the sauce was on the inside of the sandwich, so it was a bite of just plain sandwich and then like a flavor bomb when you taste the actual sauce. Anyway pretty good and clean
Worth it score: 50/100. Right around the middle. The pho noodles broke easily, could’ve been firmer. The flavor of everything was good. Good service and atmosphere. The salt and pepper rogue was surprisingly good, but 4 tiny pieces for $5. I would expect around 8. The pork belly in the spring rolls were a bit on the drier side. Texture and flavor on the turmeric fish was good. Overall, everything about evens out to the middle, hence the 50/100 worth it score. Would come again for the tofu, but not often.
Great restaurant, some changes needed. - Service was great. Polite and friendly staff. - Decor and atmosphere is good for dates and eating out with friends - Pho is the best I’ve had in Austin, tastes authentic and homemade. Few options though. - lemongrass vermicelli - super yummy! !! - Sober noodles we had was quite salty and it is spicy - so for non-spicy foodies, you’ve been warned. - eggplant bao - yummy, light on the sauce so you can ask for extra. - salt and pepper tofu is crispy, served warm and well seasoned. - pork belly was okay - not prime cuts imo. Good presentation though. !!!! - it is hot and humid in here. Please turn on the air conditioning next time. Humidity and heat makes for a less enjoyable experience. - portion is good, some left overs. - gluten free options listed.
Not my favorite. Place was clean, service was friendly, but food was very mediocre. Ordered the pork belly buns (pork was dry and overcooked, sauce was too salty) and crispy noodles (flavor was good, noodles were a little overcooked, not much chicken) overall wouldn't recomment
Decent restaurant, the host was missing when we first came in even though the place had only a few patrons sitting. Seems they were low staffed for a weekend. Menu caters to everyone’s taste. Has vegetarian and vegan options. Service was a little slow. Food is okay, nothing exciting. Vermicelli bowl size was too big so seemed like they just filled 2/3 of it with salad greens. Sauce that came with vermicelli bowl was a bit too fishy for my taste. Banh mi was a bit small and pricey. Came with tater tots which were great tasting and crispy. Braised tofu is amazing though in the banh mi. May not visit again since there are about 10 restaurants within a mile radius with similar menu items.
It’s a fairly new restaurant at this Asian center. It’s Americanized a bit so the portions are smaller and boujee and the flavor profiles aren’t as strong as authentic places. The restaurant is cute, sometimes you do have to wait for the host to finish at the front register and run back to the front to seat you. It’s pricier than typical Vietnamese places and I think parts of my food could be hotter, but it was tasty.
Not sure if it was an off day or if I ordered wrong but the spring rolls were not good. The dipping sauce was oily without flavor. There were absolutely no herbs such as basil mentioned on the menu not even cucumber. And there was something slimy - I’m not sure if it was cooked onions?? But it wasn’t good. The tofu was the best part so I ate that and left the rest.
