Got my plate mega Everything was hot. The beans were fresh potatoes, hot bacon, crispy, hot coffee. Don’t know how many times I’ve gone into the restaurants where the beans were cold. Awesome fresh food nice way to start the day. Thankful I am. Beautiful hurtful, wife, grandchildren have great parents needed a good Hotmail to start my new journey
Very casual Mexican restaurant with a vast menu. The Barbacoa was some of the best I have had in Austin! The refried beans tasted amazing with my meal & the flour tortillas were very fresh and tasty.
I’m so happy we found this place. I was trying to find some good variety especially for enchiladas and these were so delicious. The food was affordable and half off drinks. I can’t wait to try it again and more food options next time. There’s also a bakery across the restaurant.
Went for lunch. I like the layout of the place. Good spacing amongst tables and booths. The moment I walked in I knew the food would be delicious, sensing authentic Mexican cuisine. Ordered a lunch menu item, pork Chile relleno plate. Sabor! Gracias Casa Maria! Nos vemos.
I love this place!! My son and I came in last week for lunch after a doctors appointment. The hostess saw he was on crutches and was more than happy to offer us a table closer to the door so he didn’t have to walk too far! The food is amazing and the staff is always so welcoming here ! Highly recommended in South Austin.
I had a great time reconnecting with an old friend. I was glad he took me to this restaurant. It’s been in Austin for years and years he used to run his business out of there and it’s so nice dining at a restaurant that’s been around a while and not a new chain restaurant the weight staff was amazingand the food was great
I love this place. I had the pozole and it was EXCELLENT. Fresh crispy warm tortilla chips with a good salsa. The pastries are great. Comfortable large booth seating. Would be a great place to take about 6 people and enjoy the booth seating. The people are super nice. I will visit again!!!!
Food, service, and margaritas are great. Authentic food and there is a bakery, too! The people are very pleasant and helpful.
Delicious food. I love the flautas. I also enjoy their tacos. Staff is friendly and the atmosphere is pleasant. Give them a try.
Love this lil Bakery- the lady is always so nice- you kinda gotta know what to get there- but sometimes you nail it- and its Gooood It sits inside a Mexican Food Restaurant of the same name
The service is hit or miss. They’re always nice and courteous but sometimes forget about you. It is still one of my favorite restaurants. It’s probably my favorite Mexican restaurant. I have had many different items and they have always been very good. The queso is my wife’s favorite. Instead of roses i bring her chips and queso from Casa Maria’s and she knows I love her.
I would come here again. I mean, we all know that's the question it comes down to. First, I must praise the Queso Flameado. When you look at the ingredients, I feel how can something so simple be so good? I could have sworn this was some special Mexican cheese that is a family secret and hard to get ahold of but the menu says monterrey jack y'all. I don't know how it's not this good other places. Is it they know how to make it just the perfect gooeyness and the perfect homemade tortilla combo. It's just mouthwatering and I think about it maybe once a week lol. The menu is pretty extensive. Too many words... enter - food pics on yelp. Who am I kidding... looking at food pics is a high percentage of how I choose what I order. Enchiladas Tejanas -found this pic on yelp but not on the menu. Asked the waitress and apparently it is an off the menu item. What a good combo. I like me some beef Enchiladas smothered in queso and the warm stewy feeling that Carne Guisada. Just hits the right spot. Birria Soup - oh man, you know how they say soup tastes better after the day you made it? You know, the flavors are connecting to build a flavor punch profile over time. This is that. Very rich, and might I add - spicy. Kids Fideo - something I'd probably pass on. Actually my kiddos ordered it but seemed to lack a depth of flavor. The serving sizes were shareable so we ended up having leftovers of both main dishes. Next go round - margs + Queso Flameado + Enchiladas Tejanas to share. Done & done.
I stopped in for lunch. I ordered the Chicken Fajita Mexicana. The meat was very dry. The charro beans are different now. It was more juice than meat, beans, and onions. This used to be a great pla…
The Doñia Maria enchiladas plate was very good. Friendly service. Was surprise be slow it was there mid afternoon. Pretty reasonable prices and good portion. Nice tasting salsa too.

Great breakfast, GREAT homemade flour and corn tortillas, and last but not the least, THE best menudo in Austin / Kyle area!

Ate here last Sunday. The restaurant was clean & the staff were friendly even though we had to wait 30min for our friends to arrive. The food came quick after we ordered and tasted good. My only complaints are that they wouldn't let us order a beer while we waited without ordering food, they had nothing on tap, and this Mexican restaurant does not provide the complimentary chips and salsa that pretty much every other Mexican restaurant does.
Menudo was okay, seemed a little old to taste and too much tripe \n\nEverything else was good and the service was excellent I do love this place next time I'll try the caldo
Visited this place as the reviews were decent. Ordered Enchiladas Rojas, asked the waitress if the enchiladas could be filled with queso fresco, waitress confirmed. Enchiladas were filled with melted Monterrey cheese, I told her it was incorrect she replied she couldn’t change it, otherwise she’d be charged for the plate. She only offered to bring the queso fresco. Plate wouldn’t be changed as per manager, manager never came out. Returned plate and had to pay for the meal. The rest of the food was plain. No salsa given with the chorizo plate. Menudo was not too bad. If you ordered an alcoholic drink, you had to eat first. We did try the bakery next door. Service was better, the sweet bread is noting to rant about.
An okay experience with nothing particular to highlight. Hostess was helpful to get us seated at a better location when the original table was located in what looked like a walkway between bar and other tables. Don’t think they have figured out the seating arrangement very well. Bar is immediately at the entrance, not a bad thing but looks out of place. Server was great, accommodating of all special requests but was also handling the bar so her attention was quite divided. Food was nothing great, definitely overpriced in every way. Not tasty. Chips and salsa were better tasting overall. Attached bakery is good feature but only 1 person was behind the bakery counter who taking someone’s order for a custom cake for good 10 mins and didn’t bother to acknowledge other people waiting in line. Nobody else came to help her out. Had to leave not knowing how much longer it will take. Parking is decently big. In a strip mall. May be a one time visit or not.
Food was wrong. Way over priced. A Chile Reno was brought wrong 3 times. \n\nThe poor quality and extreme high prices should, and probably will cause them to close eventually

Probably the worst fajitas I've ever eaten. The meat was gray & dry. Beans are actually not even edible. Sorry, this is just so gross.

Very disappointed in the food. Also no tacos! WHAT! Will NOT be coming back. Tortillas did not taste good either
Food was nasty no flavor menudo taste like water everything is very mediocre stay away all the waiter just stand around and talk
I use to go eat here all the time for breakfast. The other morning I didn’t feel like cooking & dined in for breakfast & the food was terrible my drink was to sweet that I told the waitress that I just wanted water & she still charged me for a drink. They use tortilla chips for the migas really made me put my thumbs down on this joint I will probably never go again really disappointed
Waitress was verbally complaining about customers as she walked by our table. Food was cold and overcooked. Been going here for 17 years never had worse service. I would have been better off cooking at home.
The service and atmosphere of this restaurant were pretty nominal but the food was both overpriced and low quality. Bottom of the bag chips. Beans of two different colors with chopped hot dogs and ground beef in overly oily broth - missing essential seasonings. Tacos that also seemed like leftovers made from a mix of different meats. Watered down salsa. Watery reheated chili relleno that was unacceptable. Flautas made with white corn tortillas. Management removed the chili relent entree from the bill, but the other two entrees plus drinks cost us nearly $50 for two people. Restaurant food should be better than poorly done home stuff.
Food had lot spice in it...and salt. Leaves an aftertaste. I got tortilla soup. Was not great. Not enough of the right sides that went in it. Cilantro would have been good. Did not care for the dark meat chicken shredded in it. Just wasnt the right amount of ingredients or seasonings in it. Comparing it to Baby's Aays who I think is the best. Chips didn't seem homemade with salsa too strong of chili seasoning in it. Guacamole was supposed to be a small side. But got a large serving that was expensive and also had that same strange strong seasoning in it. Nothing else in it but smashed avocado. Idk. Wasn't great at all. Got a refill of my tea half and half and it was straight unsweetened. They couldn't remember what I ordered. Service was good and they were very nice.
I use to really love this place but for some reason it's gone down hill. The food wasnt good. My mom & I came in for lunch & most of the stuff we wanted, they didn't have. I wanted a lemon & they ran out & that's fine but the water tasted bad. The queso tasted like krafts single cheese melted & my beef was under cooked. My mom complained that the food was really bland. Did we come in on a bad day? Didn't even go to the bakery, we just wanted to leave.
