Great margaritas at La Holly! The truck in the back also churns out some pretty good tacos, chips, and queso.
First time experience ordering a mocktail vs a cocktail this afternoon. The place makes excellent non alcoholic options 👌🏼👌🏼
Great spot to grab either a cold beer on tap or a strong cocktail. Had the old fashion with makers. Highly recommended.
Very cool spot on the East Side. The drinks are always made well and the space is very charming and hip. The outdoor space is great as well when the weather is nice. Highly recommend.
Went on Cinco de Mayo with work friends. Excellent service, great drinks and the tacos from the food truck were pretty good. Young crowds.
The best cocktail I’ve had this year. The staff is awesome and the bartenders are super talented. I can’t wait for my next drink.
Alright.... so, first thing first... ask for The 'Mamcita Caliente'. Amazing drink invented by the bartenders. Warm, spicy, cinnamon, and mezcal. OMG... IT IS THE GREATEST. outside of this fact the bar is super small, but perfect for conversation. The taco truck outside is awesome. The staff is great. This is an amazing stop on any tour of 6th street and the entertainment and brewery district.
A cocktail bar specializing in mezcal. Their cocktails are delicious and not overly expensive (roughly $10/cocktail). Good trucks on site provide good wars like Taco Flats.
Amazing cocktails and cute backyard. Also tacos from taco flats truck are ones of the best tacos I’ve had in Austin so far. Seriously. Will come back every night
La Holly is a gem in Austin. The drinks are delicious and the bartenders are super cool. The Taco Flats food truck is also the best of all the locations.
The bartenders here are the best in town. Community feel is a great bonus too. Frozen drinks are top notch, highly recommend Oaxacan wipeout.
First mezcal cocktail I've ever had, but it was very good. Bartender was friendly, helpful, patient, and seemed to really know his stuff. Strongly recommended.
Chill atmosphere. Bartenders are friendly and attentive. Extensive selection of tequila and mezcal. Highly recommend their Frozen La Sancha!
The taco truck in back was definitely the star of the show. Seafood tacos worth the time and extra wait. Outdoor seating area nice for large groups.
The Oaxacan wipeout is a must even more non mezcal drinkers. My spouse who normally doesn’t like mezcal consistently get this drink
Mariko was awesome she made me the best drink! The environment is very chill and they have a yard in case you bring your dog. Big plus there is a truck on the back.
Don’t usually have cocktails but place is a must when indulging in tequila and mezcal. Great balance of sweet, sour, and spice in all drinks
The best crafted mezcal drinks I've had, the La Sancha really was above and beyond what I expected from a frozen margarita. It works very well with the chili rim. Mezcal old fashioned also was great.
Got it right at last call, bartender was friendly and served us stat. Nothing too fancy here except for the impressive tequila selection! Restrooms were in good condition, for a bar. ~$8 for a drink
Has great outdoor patio, and a food truck that you can order online.Drinks were wonderful
Great bar find. Love that it was not crowded , but still a happening place to be. Drinks were great snd the tacos were yum!! Definitely gonna hit this place up again.
Cute outdoor space with string lights, nice picnic tables, and great staff. The food truck is BOMB get there beef quesadilla! I promise you won't regret it.
Great cocktails & service! ( Loved the Oaxacan Wipeout! ) Nice patio, good atmosphere.
Laid back outdoor space with great spicy margs and social distancing capabilities. Staff was wonderful as was the food truck with its seemingly bottomless queso.
Easily my favorite bar in Austin to have a chat and get great mezcal.
One of my favorite bars in Austin. Has a really great mezcal drink selection. A great bar for an afternoon or evening drink as most of the seating is outdoors and it gets very warm during the day time.
Excellent coctail/drink spot. Lots of outdoor seating. Dog friendly. Nice staff. We ordered the Mezcalita margs - incredibly tasty with a spicy/smokey salt on the rim. We ate tacos from the food truck too and they were really good! The chips were seasoned wonderfully and the salsas tasted home made.
One of my favorite taco and cocktail combination places in Austin. A great neighborhood bar environment with friendly staff. I get the same things every time here because I love them so much. Chips and guac or Queso (the amount of chips the give you is HUGE and perfect to split). For tacos, I get one taco because it’s so big: the Pirata. If you like steak tacos this is one of my favorite tacos in austin. For cocktails I get one of two drinks: a frozen hibiscus Margarita (top 3 favorite frozen drink in austin) or a mescal old fashion. Great place for just grabbing a drink with one person or hanging out with a group of up to 8 friends.
Best food truck tacos with the added bonus of a full bar! Not your gourmet, light flimsy taco. These are over stuffed with incredible tasting meat and ingredients. Great variety, including a delicious sweet potato taco. Prices are reasonable.
Good spot for mezcal cocktails. I generally don’t go for blended drinks but the blackberry one is worth trying. The interior has been remodeled very simply but it works to create a local but modern feel. Best spot to sit is out on the patio while pairing your drink with Dee Dee Thai food truck.
One of the few cocktail bars worth my money in Austin. They have something for everyone. Plus a huge outdoor space for that disgusting 100° spring, summer, and fall season.
We welcomed our friends and family to Austin, TX the night before our wedding by treating them to our favorite eats and drinks in town. Their comment says it best. “I’m confident these are the best tacos I’ve ever had” We knew folks would crave the Pirata and Gringa, but when we learned folks were also craving their El Hippie (veggie) option we confirmed what we knew all along which was we were sharing the best tacos in town with our loved ones. The staff at the La Holly was accommodating and the service was on point all night. The food is flavorful, freshly made and inspired by Mexican tradition and down-home cooking. That spicy frozen margarita dressed in your choice of chili or house made habanero salt is top notch and alone worth the visit!
Best east 6th street bar I've found yet. Fantastic cocktails in a very comfortable understated austin setting
One of my favorite repeat spots! This is a cute mezcal bar that has a majority patio space. If mezcal is not your party choice they do have other liquor. It’s partnered with taco flats food truck.
The place for a good tequila o mezcal cocktail. Very decent selection. Bartender knows about both destilados
My favorite mezcal drinks in Austin!
La Holly is quickly becoming my new favorite taco place in Austin. The cocktails are amazing, refreshing, and delicious, BUT dang they know how to make a mouthwatering taco. The Pirata, Birria, and mushroom Chori Queso are to die for, but my new fav is taking the El Hippie and adding brisket - WOW. Wash it down with some tasty mezcal in a neighborhood bar setting. Cheers! :)
Caleb and Paul were amazing! They made my first mezcal experience enjoyable. When my brother suggested this place, I was a bit hesitant. A smoky liquor? NO THANKS. BUT they helped me find not one, but several mezcal drinks I enjoyed. Thank you Paul and Caleb! You helped make our family happy again.
Tequila, Mezcal, & Sotol dominate the bar options at this lovely neighborhood haunt. I had one of two frozen house specialties -- the Jamaica Y Mezcal & it was delicious -- refreshing with a nice smokiness. Add Taco Flats tacos -- I had really good Carne Asda & Al Pastor on flour (and the tortillas were especially good) and both the good drink and good eats boxes are checked. Go!
Unique and tasty mezcal-based drinks. Bird is the word and their Paloma are both bright and refreshing. Patio out back is a good size given how small the bar itself is. They have tacos out of a food truck type setup so bringing in outside food is a no-go. Would definitely come back if in the mood for mezcal.
Holy moly - this place is a gem! Visited family in Austin from Atlanta and they took me to La Holly, where they frequent a lot. From the taco food truck they have, to the nice outdoor seating, the VIBES, and awesome bartenders…I HIGHLY recommend this spot to people visiting downtown Austin.
I've been here pre and during covid. Pre covid, their indoor bar is amazing and solid bartender. Came a few months into covid and it was only outdoor seating for food and drinks and open to babies and dogs which is a plus for me! By far THE best tacos in Texas. Super solid meat quantity ratio. The frozen margaritas were solid but so were their mezcal margaritas back in January. This is a MUST do spot when visiting Austin.
Really enjoyed the cocktails here! Very creative and delish! The tacos from Taco Flats complemented the margs well! Cheers
Our favorite neighborhood bar, they truly are the best! From the drinks to the bartenders, we’ve become regulars here and love it. Get the La Sancha and a Oaxacan Wipeout!
I enjoyed their Mezcal drinks a lot! It’s a great spot to hang outside as the bar is fairly small. There is an excellent taco truck to order from, highly recommend these if you’re looking for your next taco stop in Austin- you won’t regret it.
Great drinks and a top notch food trailer plus a comfortable outdoor space. Also, their music selection was on point. Classic rock and FM gold all the way. We ordered five different tacos and they were all delicious. (Homemade flour tortillas!) Definitely coming back soon.
Beautiful spot in East Austin . They have a good choice of cocktails . We also enjoyed the tacos from the food truck
Walked in not knowing what to expect. Loved it! Great bartenders that know craft cocktails! Taco Flats is a great trailer there, definitely recommend.
This place is great! Twas a rainy day so we stayed inside but delicious cocktails. We had the Oaxaca wipeout and Spicy margaritas. I’m not a medical lover but the OW was so good! Great service too. We will return, esp for happy hour.
Great bartenders and the mescalitas were on point. I also enjoyed a nice craft beer on tap from Zilker and there was an awesome food truck out back in the patio area. Great atmosphere inside and out and service was good too.
At La Holly, it feels like the bar and taqueria are competing against each other to make their respective customer as happy as possible. The real winners are anyone that comes to visit, but I’d give the taqueria a slight advantage. With any taco, it always comes down to the base, the taco, and the fresh tortillas at La Holly make all the difference. My wife and I had the shrimp, brisket, carne asada, chori queso and fish al pastor tacos. My favorites were the carne asada (which had perfectly seasoned meat) and brisket (which had the best combinations of flavors and ingredients), but the shrimp and queso tacos were also excellent. While the fish al pastor taco was an interesting combination, it wasn’t as memorable as the other tacos. On the drinks side, the micheladas are extremely balanced with a perfect combination of salty, limey, tomatoe-y and spicy flavors. The Oaxacan wipeout and spicy frozen marg were also very tasty.
Our favorite local spot here in east Austin, great drinks and service. Cozy atmosphere with plenty of outdoor space for social distancing in the back patio. Great food back there too. Kyle was our bartender and he made our night
Visited Austin and stopped into La Holly while waiting for some food. Pretty unassuming bar, but they made some of the best cocktails I've ever had. Ended up coming back a few days after to sample some more drinks! Highly recommend and will definitely be back on my next trip!
A dedicated tequila + mezcal bar is such a treat (especially coming from North Carolina, where we have limited access to agave spirits for whatever reason); both cocktails were delicious. I really wanted to order something off the food menu, but was far too full - it all looked really good, though!
We had a really fun meet up here with a big group of friends. The bartender, Charles, sets the AC down low and let's the good times roll. The outside area is really well thought out and a nice place to hang out. We really enjoyed the spicy frozen margaritas and the friendly bartenders too! It was my first time having Taco Flats, and I’ve been in Austin for a very long time! I’ve been missing out! All the tacos we tried were the bomb.com. Can’t wait to go back to this laid-back, out of the way Eastside hangout.
Phenomenal local spot in east Austin that offers the most incredible cocktail options. Their tequila list is mind blowing and the bar tenders make a strong and tasty margarita. You will not be disappointed with the options!
Oh my GOD. Favorite drink I've had in Austin, maybe ever? The frozen la sancha is just sublime. The mezcal isn't overpowering and the flavors are just so wonderful together. Lovely vibe too on the back patio. I wish I lived in Austin so I could come here every week and try all the other drinks. GO HERE!!!!

a fantastic bar in East Austin! Alex, the bartender, was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful with choosing drinks based on the type of drink(s) you like. the despertar and la lechuza were our favorites but we also loved the golden elixir and maurudo were fantastic options!
Love this little bar. Feels like a piece of Oaxaca in Austin. PS-best hot toddy in town during the cold season!
We love La Holly! We were bummed that they were closed on New Year’s Eve, even though their Google page said “open.” Hopefully they will update this in the future :’(

Nice ambiance & atmosphere. Drinks average $15, so a bit pricey. There’s a taco truck on-site to buy food (food is not sold at the bar).
Very good mezcal drinks. Cute bar. Good taco truck. But the patio had a funky smell to it.
Drinks were good, and the outside seating area was nice! I didn't try Taco Flats, but some people in my party did and they raved about the carnitas tacos.
Cute little place with an amazing menu! Can’t wait to go back and try other drinks. They also have a food truck in the back in case you are hungry. Loved it!
Drinks were really good, tacos are hit or miss depending on the taco, also pretty expensive tacos (6-7$ per), queso isn’t worth it wayyyyyyy too thick and congealed very quickly
A small, well tended bar with great drinks. Most of the seating is outside with the food truck that serves the food. The guacamole was incredible and should be on your list to try. The tacos were good but nothing exceptional. Definitely worth a try for its good drinks and outdoor area.
The owners renovated an old local dive bar and they did a nice job. The atmosphere is nice and welcoming and they have a taco truck and a Thai food truck on site, both of which are pretty good. They are trying to fit in with the hipster vibe with unique mixology/craft cocktails and I wish they would have a plain frozen margarita option in addition their specialty option. Their prices are a little higher than what they ought to be but that is to be expected in East Austin these days. The customer service was pretty slow the first few times we went, but they seem to have their stuff together a little more the last two times.
Great outdoor area when the weather isn't too Texas. The indoor bar has a few seats on rainy days. You can order tacos from Taco Flats online and they'll text you when it's ready. Pretty decent queso and chips. Even if mezcal isn't your thing try the frozen hibiscus drink and they also have some local beers. There isn't parking but street parking is free in the area.
Really rude, short, middle-aged guy bartending here. Treated me and my friend poorly for no apparent reason. But the place is neat and my drink was pretty good.
Great vibes! Typical Austin feel. Perfect place to catch up with friends or have a low key date night. Cocktails are pretty good. The interior is intimate while the back patio has picnic tables for socializing and larger groups to hang. I would come back as the bartenders were friendly.
Drinks were awesome. Service was great. Atmosphere is very relaxing. Wouldn’t recommend the tacos I had. I got the shrimp and the fish pastor, and the shrimp lacked big time in flavor and seasoning and the fish was as dry as sandpaper. My fiancé had the hippie and said it was decent. Would come back for cocktails.
Great bar in East Austin. Quaint and small but amazing vibes. The cocktails are fantastic. I personally recommend the El Diablo if you enjoy drinks that are a bit spicy. The bartenders are friendly and there is great ambience as well.
I really enjoyed my visit here. Ask for James - he was very kind and made great conversation. All of our drinks were really good, and the fresh made jalapeño margarita was legitimately spicy. Definitely lived up to its expectation. To order food, you use your phone by scanning a QR code on the menu and order separately from the bar. Your food comes out from the food trucker parked outside. The guacamole was very yummy, and fresh, as well as the chips. This place is very dog friendly. It is very cute, and quaint. It’s a really great happy hour spot to chill and listen to some great music while enjoying some fresh made drinks and snacks. They had a small, but really good beer selection. I felt very welcomed and comfortable here. The staff was really nice and kept the place clean. I will definitely be coming back here.
Very relaxed bar, with 10x more outdoor seating than indoor. Classically Austin outdoor seating and non pretentious, come as you are place. Box cars, they lights, fans, benches, steel mesh fences chest high, stand up or sit down seating, food truck… you know, Austin. Located at what is currently the END of east 6th (for today, tomorrow there will be another half mile worth). Parking is street parking only in the area. Though currently that’s not too bad. Staff was not friendly the night I came but meh, could have been a bad night for them. Drat beer is not even close to cold enough, skip it, go bottled.

Love the taco truck here! Drinks aren’t worth it for the price. Used to be better. Bartenders are also pretty rude. Hate the “union” tab thing they started too, though, so even though I love the tacos I might just go to a different nearby taco place.
Bartender was super stuck up. It would be hard to walk in there if it was busy. They have an outdoor patio but it's too hot in the summer. No where to park. Street parking is rammed. I don't know how the food is. I think there is a food truck in the back, Mexican, of course because it's always Mexican. Too many other places to go.
You can only order from a scan QR code. It forced me to add a card to Google pay as my phone is an android. It kept my cc information and I had to login to remove it. The food is great but I will not eat here again because I hate adding my credit card to any program and having it SAVE it without an option. For a one off payment. No stars for payment.
I so badly want to absolutely love this neighborhood bar but after visiting a handful of times over the past year I haven’t been able to. To start with the positive; the drinks really are delicious. I love their frozen drink options and espresso martini. However, I’ve never felt welcomed by the bartenders. They always seem to be annoyed to take our orders, and answer questions in an exasperated manner the majority of the time. It’s disappointing since my experience with the staff at other bars in the neighborhood are so positive, it caught us by surprise how much they seemed to not want us there, even when the bar is pretty much empty. I’m sure I may find myself here again and I hope to have a more positive experience.

Horrible place!! No service, no respect. Would not recommend. Dirty place, saw cockroaches behind the bar. It is ridiculous. We regret spending over $300 in this bar.
The delay for the food truck is very long. I waited over 45 minutes for a couple of tacos. It wasn't even busy. Definitely don't come here in a hurry.
Bartender made us feel like we weren’t welcome and seemed upset to make drinks. Won’t come back since there’s plenty of places to get drinks in Austin with better vibes.

Meet Charles your bartender for the evening. He will mansplain and specifically define what a cocktail is and speak slowly to a woman as to make sure she understands the words coming out of his mouth. When asked if he can make a drink with Mezcal and Citrus of his choice his response is “I have no idea what you are asking me.” In the most condescending and demeaning tone. Not sure if Charles was having a bad day but treating women with nothing but the utmost disrespect is not something his Mother taught him. I for sure will never return to this place as it appears that respect and being human was the last thing on Charles’s priority list.
I put a one star because I have supported this business for awhile now. My gf and I just had went there grabbed two drinks and went togo sit outside. Mind thier are renovations going on. When you have a business the number one thing is Customer service and making sure the customer is comfortable and enjoys the time they spend at your establishment. We had to stand because Half the outside had no seating. My question to the owner right now... would you buy another drink if you are going to sit down and buy a drink to sip on and have a conversation? The answer is simple NO. You are loosing out on sales. Where someone would have spent money on 4 drinks is now spending money on two. I Suggests that you quickly invest in at least 20 of the cheapest plastic chairs to make the customer experience better and capture the $$ that you are now loosing due to the situation. This situation is temporary I understand but if you are a leader and care about your business you do the right thing. This makes me question the business. I hope that you guys can pivot and get it going.
Ordered delivery and requested an ingredient to not be on my taco and yet they still added it. Meaning they didn’t read the notes or don’t know how to read. Will not be ordering again since they can’t follow a simple direction. Edit: Well maybe train them to look over the order. Also it’s very important to go over the order and make sure you have made it correctly because of allergies or dislikes. I’m sure you would be disappointed when spending money and not getting anything correct. When it comes to food you should read notes.
Its a nice spot, cozy and good patio. But $18 drinks? Come on, why is everyone attempting to jump on the Austin growing bandwagon to overprice? Sorry, go to Mama Dearest next door. Thousand times better.
Absolutely revolting experience. The moment you walk in, you're hit with an unbearable stench that should have been the first warning sign. The staff is incredibly rude and dismissive, as if doing their job was a personal inconvenience. The entire atmosphere feels dirty and unwelcoming. Save your money.
I wouldn't feed this food to my dog. All the meat was leather-quality overdone, the guys running it were jerks to my friends for asking for salsa and napkins, all far too overpriced to accept as a donation let alone pay for. Definitely drink here, let this terrible taco truck go out of business as fast as possible.
