My boyfriend’s parents got him a gift card to here for his birthday so we went to check it out! The service is 11/10, everyone working here was so welcoming and nice! they brought out a free dessert for his birthday (the brown butter cake with cinnamon gelato) and it was definitely the highlight of the night. My boyfriend loved the bolognese, i was only meh on the redfish ravioli. they tasted more like fishy peirogis and weren’t exactly my taste, but that might have been on me for picking the wrong dish. Absolutely loved the sourdough focaccia with ricotta and the burrata (not pictured) with crispy eggplant. we had an amazing night and definitely plan on returning!!
We ate here for my son’s 17th birthday and we were really satisfied with everything! In particular the flavor of the food was amazing!! With every bite I discovered a new flavor ! I can tell it a farm to table food! The presentation of the food really pretty too! It was a really great experience with the family !! Oh!! And the chocolate amazing too! thank you guys so much!
I loved this place. Intero did an amazing job scoring points in all aspects of dining. Food was top notch, the service was great and the ambiance was perfect for a date night with my wife whose birthday we were celebrating. We were lucky enough to go on a day where they had the menu for Austin restaurant week. So we both opted to have the 4 course meal. For the first course we chose the Sourdough Focaccia and Grilled Yukon Potatoes. The Focaccia along with the ricotta was so delicious and flavorful. The bread was super soft and almost melted in your mouth. I loved the potatoes as well but the Focaccia really stole the show. For the second course, we tried the Summer Melon Salad and the Roasted Beets salad, and both the salads were great. Summer Melon was a little sweet but also nutty which complimented the sweet flavor. For the third course, we tried the Bucatini and the Risotto. Bucatini was so good, it was very creamy and had a hint of spice. Risotto's texture was very different from what usually we have had but we loved the flavor and found it very delicious too. For the final course, we tried the Brown Butter Cake and the Strawberry Sorbet. I was a bit disappointed with the sorbet as it was not as flavorful and tasted a bit bland. Brown Butter Cake on the other hand was delicious. In conclusion, I loved almost everything this place had to offer and will be planning a return trip again.
We love Intero! This is usually our go-to celebration dessert place. We go somewhere and end up here for drinks and dessert. They have Amari flights that our friends love and the chocolates are so beautiful and of course full of flavor. We've never been disappointed. The atmosphere is elegant and yet friendly and cozy at the same time. Our friends just love it too. This time, however, our budget meant picking up some of their amazing and stunning chocolates for a lower key home celebration. Sadly our car died in their parking lot while we came to pick them up. We had to bring the chocolates back in to keep them cool. They were so kind! A bit later while awaiting a tow truck, one of the waiters came out and handed us something delectable to munch on and some iced tea to cool us down. It was some kind of yeast bread but unlike anything I've ever experienced. It came with a ricotta spread. It was freakin' amazing. A friend who came to help said "I could have lived without knowing about that." It was so delicious. We've always been delighted with Intero as a venue for our best celebrations but now we're grateful for their pure kindness. We wish Intero a very long run in Austin. Photos are from past visits-- elegant chocolates.
t's our first time here and we chose a perfect place to celebrate our anniversary! The food was excellent, the ambiance is very homey but the one who made our night was Harry! His service was phenomenal and very educational about the menu. My husband had a lot of questions and having a hard time choosing what he will eat (everything sounds delicious!) but Harry guide him through it and didn't make us feel we were in a rush. We were working in a food industry and we would say his service is 10/10! Other than that, from the host and other employees - they are also welcoming and made us special by simply greeting us.
This experience was far more than expected. We had a group of 7 and after conversing with Harry, I opted for a family style serving and I let the restaurant choose the menu. I gathered the dietary information they needed, so they could serve appropriate dishes. It was the best choice I made. During and after the dinner we could not stop talking about the experience. By doing it this way we all were able to try so many more dishes and ones we might not have thought to order. We also discussed the amazing service and attention to detail. This will be a dinner our group will never forget. Thank you to all the staff for a night we won't forget. We felt we meant a lot to you.
Every single thing we had here was amazing! Wish we had yall back home in LA. Highly recommend the duck breast risotto, pork rage gnocchi, cabbage, and brown butter cake
Intero is on of the best restaurants I’ve tried so far in Austin!! My friends and I went here to celebrate a birthday. They had a cute little birthday sign at the table for us when we arrived. Our server James was very attentive and had great recommendations. For drinks we ordered mojitos and avenues of time and for food we ordered potato fingerlings, focaccia, pizza, gnocchi, bucatini, and mafaldine. Every single dish was AMAZING and drinks were tasty!! I’m so pleased with the experience, food, and service! Well done intero and thank you to the amazing staff that made us feel welcomed!
Intero is amazing! The food is absolutely delicious, and everything is so well-balanced. My favorites are the Sourdough Focaccia with House Made Ricotta, which is so fluffy and rich, and the Brown Butter Cake with Cinnamon Gelato, which is just the perfect mix of warm, buttery, and sweet. The vibe is cozy, and the service is great. Definitely a place I’d keep coming back to!
Intero is not just any other farm-to-table spot; They truly have a passion for the quality and selection of their food and source it sustainably. Everything we had felt catered to us from what we said we liked to our server, and the presentation and flavors of every dish blew us away. I highly recommend the burrata, it was one of my favorite dishes I’ve had. They truly care about the customer experience and this shows in every element. Their staff is passionate, the ambiance is charming and romantic, and the food is remarkable. This is a wonderful spot for a special evening or just to have an unforgettable food experience. Ps, you must end the evening with one of their house made chocolates….
Amazing experience! Imogene was our server and she killed it. The rigatoni rabbit dish was our favorite but we were licking every plate clean.
This was such a wonderful place for dinner. The atmosphere is very romantic and cozy. Would be a perfect date spot. Food was delicious and the staff were so welcoming and kind. Brown butter dessert is a MUST try. Edited: Came back on 10/30 with my boyfriend who also loves Intero and I want to double down on my review and say how much I love this restaurant.
Recently went to Intero and literally loved every dish we tried!! We ordered the focaccia bread, burrata and shishito peppers to start. All 3 were amazing! The peppers definitely had a kick to them. Followed by the redfish ravioli and finally the brown butter cake for dessert. The ravioli was super flavorful and brown butter cake was the perfect way to finish off the meal. The toasted marshmallow puffs were a nice touch on the side of the cake. Everything was well portioned besides the bread. But we just asked for more and the waitress happily brought us as much bread as we wanted with no added charge. The waitress seemed a bit odd and out of it, but our reservation was late so maybe she was just tired. Overall 10/10
Oh my goodness! We celebrated my birthday here and it was perfection. The service was outstanding, the food was delicious, and the vibe was dim, relaxed, and romantic. For someone who doesn’t eat a lot of fine dining Italian food, the menu was a little hard to know what was what. Between google and our waitress being really knowledgeable of the menu, we were able to all order something we enjoyed! The desserts were were impeccable, coming from a pastry chef myself. We will definitely be back to try the wood fired pizzas!
I came here for my birthday and Intero did the most to make it special. Not only was there a little placard, they even added a candle to my dessert which was so unexpected. Not only was the service phenomenal, but the food was some of the best I’ve had. The risotto with duck was out of this world. The sourdough focaccia was perfection. Everything we had was absolutely amazing and I would come back one million times.
We really enjoyed our dinner at Intero. The sourdough focaccia was so light and tasty, especially with the ricotta and honey. The highlight for me was the ricotta gnocchi. So flavorful but also so light at the same time. The brown butter cake with cinnamon ice cream was the perfect ending. Will definitely be back!
Awesome spot for a date night or friend gathering! The whipped ricotta and bread were to die for. The ricotta was like a creamy butter on the perfect bread. The bread was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and it paired well with it a nice glass of red wine. The pasta and pizza were light and airy and had great flavor. The service was on point. I loved the quaint atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back!
I had an amazing dining experience at Intero last night. Although we didn’t have a reservation, we were able to sit at the bar, and the bartender was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, which made the experience even better. We started with the focaccia bread, which was fresh and delicious. The highlight of the meal was the fresh pasta with bolognese sauce and the hot honey ham pizza—both were outstanding. But the true star of the night was dessert: the brown butter cake. It was so good, I wish I could eat it again for the first time! The atmosphere was cozy and intimate, perfect for a relaxing evening. I’ll definitely be back!
Everything was incredible! We got the sourdough focaccia, ricotta gnocchi, ravioli, and brown butter cake with cinnamon gelato, plus we took home some chocolates. The truffle flavors are delicious and we loved the vanilla chocolate bark! Also very reasonably priced compared to similar restaurants in Austin.
We came here on a Sunday night and got to enjoy our dinner on the patio. We don’t eat meat and we go light on dairy and our waitress was kind enough to mark up a menu to help us visualize what we could and couldn’t get. We got the focaccia with ricotta cheese. The bread was perfectly toasted and the honey on the ricotta paired really well with the cheese. We also got the charred cabbage to start. I was thoroughly impressed by the cabbage. The charring added a lot of flavour and the sauce the cabbage was in was full of flavour. For our main, the chef was able to make us a vegan pasta. It was by far my favourite dish. It was green forward but in a fresh way. The pasta was cooked perfectly. We ended with two truffles and the cake. I love that they have a chef who specializes in desserts. I would choose this place over other Italian spots because they obviously care about where they get their food from. There’s a list of farms they work with on the back of the menu. All of their staff is listed on the menus as well. You can tell how much pride they have in the food and the ambience. I highly recommend!
I'm still thinking about this place omgggg 🤤 We made reservations for our anniversary. The staff was on top of our reservation and gave us a courtesy call. The drinks were nice , but the food was absolutely phenomenal! They recently added a slow roasted pork and omg so delicious. Their sourdough focaccia bread paired harmoniously we with their whipped ricotta and wild-flowered honey. UGHHH best Italian place in Austin!
Had the best date night here. The food, atmosphere, and service were all wonderful. Shout out to Sam for all of the excellent customer service with both our seating and chocolate information. Highly recommend as a sexy/moody date night without all the fancy frill
Scratch pasta (even gluten free available!), wood fired pizzas and a chocolatear owner. Eating here was a truly wonderful experience. You can get dressed up or keep it casual. The food was outstanding, and you may need to order 2 entrees just because they're so good and you'll want to try more, but the portions were perfect. Appetizers were great and a rotating truffle menu for dessert was scrumptious. Will definitely revisit for the next birthday.
I'll confess, this is our go-to place in Austin. We find ourselves there after a tough week or even special occasions. Bartenders are DELIGHTFUL, and who could ever get tired of watching random things be made before your eyes and pizzas flying in and out of the oven? Everything that comes out of the kitchen is ALWAYS interesting, thoughtful, and DIFFERENT. I'm always curious about what's changed on the menu, and I leave feeling inspired, recharged, and full (AND carring a bag of leftovers). The entire experience is relaxing, and the chef pust together such clever, fresh dishes. They take a great deal of care with every aspect of their business. I'd love to shake both the chef's hands and thank them for all of the lovely evenings they've provided to my hus and and me. Oh! Also, apparently, thr place is run by a husband and wife duo, making it even more special to me because I'm a total sap. Thanks, Intero. We adore you. Oh, and major shout out to the host. They are always a peach to us too!
Can’t recommend this place enough. The service is so friendly, professional and accommodating - they asked about dietary requirements straight away and easily accommodated all our needs. Our server offered me a vegan pasta which isn’t listed on the menu and was absolutely delicious. All their pasta is made fresh in house and is beautiful. The star of the show was the ravioli with smoked beef. It was incredibly well-balanced, with perfect flavour combinations and was perfectly cooked - a world class dish that’s one of the best we’ve eaten. They also mentioned they’re farm to table so we felt good about enjoying our meal too. They also make their own pastry and chocolate in house, so give you complimentary little chocolates with your bill. Will definitely be back!
I had such a wonderful experience at Intero! They are very vegan-friendly, and every vegan option I tried was absolutely amazing. It makes me so happy to feel included and not treated as an afterthought on the menu. The flavors were incredible, the atmosphere was lovely, and I left with a big smile. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a place that truly embraces all diners! 🌱✨
Where do I start with this place? It’s cozy and intimate, simple yet elegant. The dim lighting and candle light will make your date night or celebration feel even more special. We went for our 20th anniversary celebration and we were received with congratulations from the hostess to our waitress who by the way was AMAZING! Her name is Rachel and not to take anything from the rest but she is THE BEST! She was so nice, warm, attentive and friendly and she brought us a complimentary champagne toast as well as a 4 piece chocolate treat for dessert. Her description and recommendations for the food were spot on and really helpful. Being honest, this place was basically one of our last choices as we didn’t knew anything about it but we are so glad we went as it instantly became our favorite restaurant in Austin. It’s not cheap but this is the kind of place that you feel great paying whatever you have to pay because the value actually matches the price. If you have not eaten there yet go and if you have and you didn’t loved it for whatever reason please give it a second chance. Hope you enjoy it! P.S. the gnocchi and the risotto…to die for
Intero exceeded all expectations! Every dish we ordered was outstanding, and we nearly worked our way through the entire menu. The flavors, presentation, and attention to detail were exceptional. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an unforgettable dining experience, and I’ll definitely be returning soon!
Took my parents here for Christmas eve dinner, and it did not disappoint! Chelsea was our server and was amazing! The food was incredible, the courses were timed excellently, and the everything felt comfortable but elevated. I really enjoyed our experience and can't wait to go back!
Intero Restaurant in Austin is an exquisite culinary gem that effortlessly blends the rich flavors of Italy with the warmth and hospitality of Texas. As soon as you step inside, you are welcomed by an inviting ambiance, with rustic decor and a relaxed, yet sophisticated atmosphere. The dimly lit space adds a touch of intimacy, making it ideal for a romantic date night or an evening out with friends. The service at Intero is attentive and friendly, ensuring you feel like a valued guest throughout your visit. The waitstaff is knowledgeable about the menu, and the pacing of the courses is just right, allowing you to savor each dish without feeling rushed. While Intero is on the higher end in terms of pricing, the exceptional quality of the ingredients, the skillful execution of each dish, and the overall dining experience make it well worth the splurge. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or simply looking for an exceptional meal, Intero Restaurant in Austin is an absolute must-visit for food enthusiasts and anyone seeking an unforgettable gastronomic journey.
A delicious and memorable experience from start to finish. Local fare, beautifully prepared. The flavors and textures turned familiar foods into dishes that were delicious, new, and exciting. I wish I had room to keep trying more. Our server, Harry, was phenomenal. One of the best waiters we’ve ever had. His expertise of the menu details, eye for perfect wine suggestions, and enthusiasm for the restaurant really made this a gem of an experience. Will be back again every time in Austin. Thank you!
Great food and romantic ambiance. That said, the absolute highlight of our evening was our waitress, Brooklyn. She was nothing short of phenomenal. From her impeccable timing to her warm, professional energy, she elevated our entire dining experience. It is rare to encounter someone so attentive and genuinely dedicated to ensuring guests have a perfect experience. Brooklyn is a massive asset to the team, and her service alone is enough to keep us coming back!
Intero was a really great experience! The pizzas are full of flavor with a crispy crust, and the pasta was fantastic. I was blown away by the brown butter cake though. It's like a pecan pie/crumble with a scoop of cinnamon Gelato on top and toasted marshmallow dollups, and it was one of the best desserts I've ever had. If you like those flavors you gotta try it!
Impressed by the food, service, and overall ambience. Incredibly flavorful dishes, and the dessert is also not to be missed. I can’t have gluten and it was no problem for them to accommodate. The gluten free pasta was amazing. We enjoyed a couple of small plates, entrees (the bucatini was perfection) a mocktail, affogato and panna cotta.
Food is not your typical Italian food that you might see at an Italian restaurant. This restaurant uses locally sourced ingredients and prepared unique Italian dishes. The food is good overall, however I found it a little salty. The staff was great and the restaurant is beautifully decorated.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Very nice ambiance. Make reservations. Excellent farm to table menu with fresh and flavorful taste portfolios in every single dish. Loved the burrata with crispy eggplant and beets with feta. Mushroom pizza is insanely delicious. Good selection of Italian wines and cocktails. We will go back to try other dishes. I really wanted to try the brown butter cake, but was too full. Their chocolate truffles are also amazing.
TLDR: just go try it once you won’t regret it. First I have to praise the staff! From the host to the bar tenders everyone was so kind and accommodating! The dinning experience was refreshing and a true joy on its own. Now the food! The chef is cooking up some amazing and unique dishes performing some kind of witch craft that completely changed my perspective on how ingredients can taste. For example I passionately dislike goat cheese but, my two favorite dishes the melon salad and got cheese cake blew me away. If it’s in season you must try the melon salad, it’s a combination of fresh herbs and summer melons laid on top of a creamy whipped goat cheese had me licking the plate clean! We also had the wood fired mushroom that blew my socks off (might be the new pizza spot if they do take out). For the main course I had the mafaldine bolognese and my fiancé had the bucatini both were amazing. If I could only get one I recommend the bucatini, it’s creamy, cheesy sauce in combination with the charred corn was an addicting combination! Finally for dessert the highlight was the goat cheese cake. It crossed a few wires in my brain, I never knew how light, delicate, and delicious goat cheese could be. Highly recommend getting it! I can’t wait to go back!
We had the best meal at Intero celebrating our anniversary. FOOD: The Gnocchi was our FAVORITE. We loved everything about the burrata dish. I got the bucatini and I do not recommend it. They have so many other amazing dishes and this one was not worth it. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Our waitress Beth was the BEST. She explained everything so well, gave us great reccos, and was overall just so nice. She made our experience way better. Would definitely recommend!
An absolutely stunning meal from start to finish. The wait staff seated us at our reservation time, our waitress was kind and attentive and the meal was beautifully paced. The food - 10/10! Maybe I ordered perfectly or the chefs were on fire but everything was just right. Started with refreshing cocktails and focaccia with ricotta - a house favorite. This just set the tone for the night. Followed by delicious roasted oyster mushroom pizza, ricotta gnocchi, and rigatoni with rabbit. Easily in my top 5 meals of the year. Next time I’ll try to leave room for dessert because the chocolates looked beautiful. Tips - Check the parking map on the website before you go. There are more spots than it looks like
Great date night spot! All the food tasted so fresh, they take farm to table to another level! Every dish was beautifully crafted and the waiter told us they change the menu to fit what’s available from farms! I could taste the difference in quality of ingredients. Do not miss any of the produce heavy dishes, those were our favorite. Our waiter was so welcoming and knowledgeable. He provided fantastic service and informed us of dishes we would like. The interior was dark and was very romantic. I recommend getting their bread and any pasta dish!
One of my favorite spots in Austin—easily some of the best food I’ve had in the city. The staff is consistently incredible: warm, attentive, and genuinely hospitable. For the quality, the prices are surprisingly reasonable. The menu is always changing, which keeps things exciting, and you can really tell how much care goes into everything. They’re truly farm-to-table. They even have an in-house chocolatier, and the desserts are always outstanding. The duck and rabbit dishes are must-orders if they’re on the menu. The drinks and entrees are creative, unique, and thoughtfully executed—Intero never misses.
Intero is the PERFECT date night spot. I went with a friend, but the lighting, vibes, and mood is very enjoyable. Great for dates or hangouts. Everything is made from scratch in house, which is super impressive. All their menu items are unique and thoughtfully well crafted - Dish 1: Rabbit Rigatoni This pasta dish was amazing. Primary flavor is deep and smoky with the smoked rabbit. Rabbit is interesting and has a bit more of a bite than chicken. There's a hint of sweetness from the wine reduction and the horseradish cream really balances the dish by cutting through the richness. I LOVED the rigatoni itself as it was perfectly al dente. - Dish 2: Smoked Duck Confit Pizza The pizza is unique with lots of contrasting balancing flavors. The lime really shines, so the flavor is rich, salty, zesty, and a tad bit sweet from the green sauce on top. The duck adds a bit of smokiness. Again, the texture is amazing and I could really feel the in house quality. The pizza had a good chew, not floppy nor underbaked, the perfect slight crisp on the crust. The service here is great too! Our server gave us complimentary dessert which was super nice. The apple pie truffle and pumpkin chocolate bark were delicious.
This was my favorite restaurant during my visit to Austin, Texas. The sourdough focaccia with ricotta and honey has to be the best thing on the menu but I also enjoyed the timballo as an appetizer. We ordered the arrabbiata pizza, smoked rabbit rigatoni, mafaldine, slow roasted pork shoulder, and the grilled redfish. Everything tasted amazing and the service was great! They even accommodate for allergies and were able to customize some of the plates so that everyone could enjoy. Make sure to save room for dessert! The brown butter cake was a perfect finish to our dinner.
How have I NOT written a review yet?! Intero has become our cozy weighted blanket at the end of a long week. The staff is wonderful. Just great humans, and the food is definitely on par. They rotate their menu highlighting seasonal ingredients while creating thoughtful and creative dishes. There is a constant thread of cohesiveness while maintaining solid consistency. The cocktail menu is just as fun and refined. It’s probably safe to say Intero is our favorite restaurant in the city. I’d probably come weekly if there was a green salad option.
This restaurant was beyond fabulous. We managed to get in with no reservation on Valentine’s Day thanks to Sam—the amazing host. He called us as soon as he got a cancellation and we were able to secure a spot at the bar. Daniel the bartender, was very friendly and had the perfect recommendations. We live in the neighborhood and this will now be our regular spot. The food was outstanding and exceeded our expectations and the service was Michelin level.
Intero in East Austin delivers thoughtful Italian dishes with local flair in a warm, stylish setting. The mafaldine bolognese was hearty and well-balanced, with ribbons of pasta layered under a generous heap of cheese and herbs. The ricotta gnocchi stood out- light, pillowy dumplings paired with sausage, pickled peppers, and fresh mint for a surprising, textured bite. We started with the house-made burrata, which came on toast with charred greens and pesto-simple, fresh, and well-executed. The beef carpaccio was delicate but flavorful, topped with blue cheese, fried garlic, and herbs that added just enough edge. Service was friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere felt relaxed but refined. Great spot for a casual night out that still feels like a treat.
This was a fantastic experience. We went here for our anniversary dinner, and we absolutely loved it. The entire staff was extremely friendly and kind, especially our server, Courtney. She was excellent! The food was delicious. We ordered six different items. From those, we highly recommend the Grilled Gulf RedFish, Roasted Duck Breast Risotto, Duck Confit Ricotta Gnocchi, and Brown Butter Cake dessert. We are so glad we chose this place to celebrate our special day, and we can’t wait to go back.
We chose to do our wedding rehearsal dinner at Intero and are SO glad we did! Our group was ~40 people and they put us in a mostly private room at the back of the restaurant. When booking, we were told our meal would be decided week of, which we were fine with as we've had many delicious meals at Intero. The whole team executed the meal perfectly from the welcome, to the food, to the service. A couple family members said it's the best meal they've ever had :)
Tasty food that is seasonal, change frequently. Everything tastes fresh and they have the most creative combos and well executed dishes. Recently tried the grilled crispt fish with kolhrabi and mushroom sauce, it was amazing. Foccacia is wonderful, I also love their tuna tartare. Get the brown butter cake for dessert. Service is good and reservations are not too hard to acquire!
The parking around is not the best, but im not taking that into consideration. First off, the service here is simply amazing. They were accommodating and they actually paid attention to reason for online reservation, other places simply don't care or don't read. The food options that you get here may seem a bit out of the ordinary, but I think that's what makes it great. You are not going to get the same old boring menu options here. The only negative thing I can say about the menu is that most of the dishes to me rely heavily on sauce combinations that may not work for a lot of folks, especially something like blue cheese on a popular food item like steak. Other than that, my pasta was rich, heavy, and delicious. It didn't come with protein, but that's OK, the sauce kinda made up for it. The steak was ok, it came well done and already cut for us, and they seemed to have not cut against the grain, so most of the pieces were chewy. The desert we got for my wife's Bday was on the house, and it was amazing, if I were to come back, it would be for the desert! Again, i would recommend this place because the dining experience is amazing, the food tastes fresh, and they have new ideas.
Went for the first time last weekend, and have nothing but amazing things to say! First and foremost the host Sam was so welcoming! It is so nice and refreshing to see his presence walking in. He is so personal and had a great pace walking us to our table. We had the pleasure of having the server Grace and bartender Mark the whole time. The attention to detail of our orders were phenomenal. Mark suggested an amazing wine for our dinner and had great conversations. Grace was on top of her game and never had us looking for her. We had the pleasure of meeting Jeremy who made sure we were taken care of and made us feel so welcome! After all my traveling, This place will forever be on my restaurants to go, I have yet to find something on the menu I don’t like.
Cozy casual little Italian spot. Definitely recommend getting a reservation, this place gets busy. Parking is tough. Ride share if you can! The staff were friendly. The food was super tasty. We got a nice bottle of wine with the server’s recommendation. The sourdough focaccia with the whipped ricotta was so tasty. We also got the bucatini dish which tasted like grown up mac n cheese. The Yukon potato and garlic pizza was CRAZY good. We were dipping the crust in the pasta sauce. The affogato might have been the best I’ve ever had. Bitter and sweet and salty and hot and cold and creamy. Such an experience. I really appreciated the reasonable pricing too! It wasn’t outrageous at all. I’d def come back here because I want to try more dishes!
From the minute you walk in you will notice attention to detail. From the lighting to the amazing wait staff to the meal it’s all very detail oriented. All the food is very flavorful and delicious. The sweet potato and grilled cabbage was our starters, which honestly may of been our two favorite dishes. The mains we did a pasta and pizza. The pizza was a tad underwhelming if you compared it to other places but the pasta was a real star of the show! But my god I wasn’t prepared for what came next, the brown butter cake and chocolate truffles + bark. This was an all time epic dessert. The cake dish was a 50 out of 10 in how perfect it was. The chocolate was so tasteful we walked away with some to go, they honestly could run their own chocolate business alone and it would be successful. We absolutely will be coming back and hopefully you can go and experience the detailed and thoughtful dinner here!
Total came out to 200 with tip four four entrees, 3 drinks and dessert! Incredible food, every dish was so well prepared, portioned, and crafted. We throughly enjoyed the experience of intero. Get an early evening reservation to use the FREE parking lot. Unheard of in Austin. We waited so long to try this place...
Hands down, one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in Austin. The food is SO fresh and you can tell the ingredients are from local farms. The quality of the food is so high. We got the smoked duck pizza and the smoked rabbit rigatoni which were both amazing, and ended the meal with the brown butter cake with cinnamon gelato and a few chocolate truffles. Our waiter, Jeremy, was very patient, warm, and accommodating as he took time to answer any questions we had about the food and modify the dishes to fit someone in our group’s dietary restrictions. He even gave us a few extra chocolates on the house so we got to try all the flavors available that day. I will definitely be back!
We had a great time at Intero. The ambience was really nice - romantic and cozy. The service was excellent. The house made sourdough focaccia was outstanding especially with the ricotta. We had the bucatini with roasted kale and duck risotto and both were really good. The texture of the bucatini was perfect! They also made the chocolate truffles and bars. I had the candied orange and salted caramel chocolate truffles and loved them!
First time here. I can say with confidence, first impressions- outstanding! I work in luxury hospitality over two decades. Want to know the best way I gauge if a restaurant is worth it's weight? The staff!! Not based on engagement. Based on how passionate and proud they are to be there. I can say hand down. This place wins the passion, welcome, & pride award in Austin. Warm, friendly, informative, & efficient hospitality. Sat at the bar - Rachel is an absolute delight who sells this place with ease by her knowledgeable passion for the authenticity of the cuisine and approachable personality. Daniel is kind, knowledgeable, and attentively supportive. The food: Top tier. After covid, quality has gone down in most cities. I can say with confidence , it uphill for these guys. This place has stepped up to the plate, pun intended. You actually get what you pay for! Quality, fresh, local - Amazing Italian wine selection. Delicious charred cabbage, local beef carpaccio, and omg cheddar kale bucatini. So good. I humbly and highly recommend!
We came here to celebrate our anniversary dinner. The food and our service made it a memorable night We got started on wagyu carpaccio and sourdough bread with ricotta. The starters were amazing. The bread was warm, crispy and soft with a salty sweet ricotta. For entrees we got the bucatini and mushroom pizza. The pizza was delicious with meaty mushrooms and sweet caramlized onions. The pasta had the perfect texture and bite with a creamy smoky sauce. We wanted to try desserts but we were so stuffed, we didn't have place for anything else.
This restaurant easily made it onto our “would absolutely return” list. The food was incredible—fresh ingredients, clean flavors, and everything cooked perfectly. Our server Beth was amazing and made us feel genuinely welcomed and taken care of. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
This is by far one of my favourite restaurants in Austin. The concept is extremely simple: farm to table Italian and it really delivers on that. The menu rotates with the seasons and the chefs get very inventive with what's available (persimmon ragu? I mean wow!) I've brought my family and my partner here and every time all of us loved what we ordered. Also they're so accommodating! My partner is vegetarian and they happily marked up a menu with alternative options too
I went to Intero last week on a date night, and wow was ai blown away. From the second we walked in, we felt taken care of. We started out with the house made ricotta with the wildflower honey. The first bite felt like my taste buds were riding through these fluffy, creamy ricotta clouds. Just delicious! The second appetizer was the kampachi crudo. The fish just melted in your mouth, tasted very fresh, and I loved the fresh dill and sauce that was on it. Beth was our server, and the energy she brought was amazing. Maybe some of the best service I’ve had while dining in Austin. Shoutout to Beth!! We ordered two pasta dishes and were blown away by both of them. The gnocchi with the pork ragu was the perfect dish for a chilly night. I also really enjoyed the toasted sunflower seeds, they provided a great texture to the dish. The dish was cozy and inviting, and kinda made it feel like you were sitting next to a fireplace. I have heard so many great things about this place, and it lived up to the expectations! I can’t wait to come back and try some pizzas. Thanks for an amazing meal.
Great restaurant -I’ve never been to Italy, but I feel like this is as close as it gets in Austin. They have a nice outdoor space out front by the entrance. We went there on a Thursday night, and were able to get seats at the bar. The bar tenders there were so awesome. Needless to say the food did not disappoint. The fresh pasta was so tender. Honestly, this is the best gnocchi I’ve ever had. Each one was like hitting into a soft clue. My only regret is not haven’t gotten the pizza.
Intero is an easy 5 stars. Our waiter, Veyua, was one of the best we have had, genuinely lovely and attentive. I ordered the duck and found it too gamey for my palate, though the risotto was one of the best I have ever had. Without hesitation they offered to bring another entrée, even though it felt like the issue was on me. I tried the roasted pork and OMG, it was phenomenal, easily the best thing I have eaten in a while. Stellar service, thoughtful hospitality, and food that hits. I appreciate the entire team and will be back soon.
THIS WAS A 10/10 We got the bolognese pasta and the roasted potato and garlic pizza everything was super good the atmosphere was dark whenever we were there at around 9 but our waitress was amazing super friendly and after we ate we felt full but still super light. The pasta was cooked to perfection with the perfect amount of seasoning and chew, the pizza had almost a thin crust but a thick outer crust was very good. The only thing i would say is that if they ask you if you want your pizza to be brought out when it’s ready or whenever the pasta is ready I would ask for it to be brought out when it’s ready so it can be hot but overall amazing food.
Good italienne restaurant. We tried some out of the ordinary dishes. (Regahtoni with rabbit and mushrooms, pizza with potato, grilled cabage with mastered) The tastes were very special but sometimes a bit over what we have expected. All and all, a very nice place. The regular pizza was superb! Bartender was super nice
Welcome to the east side Intero! A great little spot with an even greater happy hour menu ($2 off any drink and half price bar food) from 4:30-6:30. We have slowly gone through almost every item on the bar menu in two visits. The wine selection is really nice - they carry different varietals that pique your curiosity. The cocktail menu has it going on while the friendliness of your bartender is hit or miss. Our first visit we had a very engaging and informative bartender that made our first experience a great one. The second time our bartender only responded with “uh huhs” and didn’t seem too enthused to be there. Come on folks, that’s why people like sitting at the bar because we wanna engage! The food quality is high, the flavors are great even with items I tend not to like - in fact, my favorite dish thus far has been the roasted cauliflower! The white bean dip is another favorite. Their hand made pastas are good (the actual pasta could be better as sometimes they are over cooked), but the ingredients and sauces are superb. All in all, a good food experience. We are hoping our next trip doesn’t include the grouchy bartender.
My dinner at Intero was a good experience. Italian isn’t my personal favorite but Intero did a good job. The cabbage salad and focaccia was a great start. The cabbage salad was a good balance and loved the char on it. The focaccia was fine. I wish there was a bit more olive oil. A friend and I got two dishes to share. The Malfadine with bolognese was a classic. The meat sauce was flavorful and the pasta was well made. The ravioli with smoked red fish and lemon preserve was okay. There was way too much going on the dish. I wish there was some editing. It was kind of giving a lox sandwich. Dessert was a good time. The affogato was great they did a roasted white chocolate ice cream. The brown butter cake was good and balanced. The service was really good. Overall a solid experience.
Overall we really liked our visit. Atmosphere was cozy and classy but still laid back. Staff were all very friendly and our waitress was very attentive. The food was really fresh and we liked the adventurous approach, but some of the flavors we felt didn't mesh up quite right. The drinks were good, but pretty basic for the $$. The wagyu brisket in fried risotto appetizer was very heavy, and the puree and apples I think were supposed to balance it out, but felt disjointed and like 2 separate dishes. My quail and risotto was delicious, but I was expecting a whole or at least half a quail and only had the legs and wings which was almost nothing and was very small proportionally to the risotto. My wife's duck confit pasta was delicious, with spice and balanced flavors, but it tasted more like an Asian dumpling than Italian pasta to me. The brown butter cake with cinnamon Gelato was outstanding. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves and would recommend checking it out!
Intero was a nice intimate setting, great for date night. The staff were so welcoming and friendly. We ordered the buratta as our appetizer and I loved the fried eggplant that went along with. It was a big piece of burrata but just one small slice of eggplant, I feel they could have complimented the dish more. Then we got the oyster mushroom pizza and it was salt and sweet at the same time. I usually love mushroom pizza but this one I didn’t enjoy too much. The caramelized onions were over powering the pizza. Next the bolognase was good lots of flavour and the noodles were cooked perfectly. I ask the waiter what would be one of the recommended dishes and he said bucatini, so I ordered it and to be honest it was just an elevated Mac and cheese. The noodles were under al Dante, the kimchi made it salty and the age cheese just over powered the dish, and I’m usually a fan of aged cheddar. But right after dinner I wasn’t feeling so well, had abit of a tummy ache. Overall it’s a nice place to check out, personally I probably wouldn’t go back.
Dim lighting and light music gave an overall romantic vibe. We went for our first wedding anniversary and they gave us complimentary champagne which was so sweet and thoughtful. We tried the sourdough focaccia with Ricotta and the dip was so creamy with thyme and honey. We had arrabbiata pizza and bucatini with kale..pizza was great with crispy base and pasta was creamy. For dessert we tried brown butter cake with cinnamon gelato, brilliant presentation but a bit sweet for my liking. Highly recommended for special occassions! Our server Chandler (hope I got the name right) was really soft-spoken, accomodating and gave us enough time to choose our dishes. Overall great ambience, gourmet food and value of money place to try new flavours.
Great service great food…but what happened to just trying to make a top tier classic dish? The food was “good” but so complicated with all these fancy ingredients.. who cares?! honestly all I want is just a really good well done pasta dish. I don’t need all this fancy BS. I want to have the best Spaghetti bolegnese i have had In my entire life not some random dish that’s trying too hard to stand out. Sure give the people some interesting dishes but also give them the classics done to perfection! Thats just me…take it with a grain of salt.🤷♀️
Great service and good ambience, focaccia and the oyster mushroom pizza were great. Pork was well cooked and had lot of flavor.
Tried their vegetarian menu, their mafalde pasta was one of the best we’ve had. The burrata with fried eggplant was not bad, but also not excellent. The service can be significantly improved. The staff at the bar was super friendly and attentive, however the table staff wasn’t friendly at all. Felt like he was just checking boxes.
4.5/5 This is our second visit to Intero and they’ve been consistently wonderful. The service has always been kind and prompt. We ordered their charred cabbage, burrata, family style beef which was a briased beef culatello with creamed greens, and brown butter cake with cinnamon gelato. They all tasted great and portions were fair. When we were here last, their pasta dishes were also superb. Getting a reservation wasn’t difficult which, along with the overall dining experience, puts this place a notch above many of the other fancy places in town. Highly recommended!
Intero has the highest price to food quality menu of any restaurant I have eaten in. For example, the broccoli salad basically felt alive on the plate. This makes sense as they proudly share all of the farmers they do business with to get such high quality and fresh ingredients. We had a wagyu cut served family style, focaccia and cheese and the grapefruit sorbet. Every dish was amazing with complex but not competing flavors and freshness. All made in house! They are a scratch kitchen, which means that if you get there for a later reservation like we did, there may be an entree or two that is already sold out. We shed some small tears for the pork shoulder, but now we know that we just have to go back and take the time to get there before 8:30. My only bones to pick at all for Intero are the lack of a good non-alcoholic beer option and the atmosphere of the restaurant itself. Offering three Athletic Brewing options like Upside Dawn, Athletica & All Out would cover most beer tastes well. Sadly, the atmosphere does not match the quality of the food or the service the staff gives. A lot in there needs some love, the tables are pretty chipped up, it was pretty cold (tho it is December), and the art and or other ways of making it cozy inside are missing. I think working with someone who has a bit of design sense and this place could look great for not too much money. That being said, Intero is still going to be our go to restaurant for a treat night out as a couple or meeting up with friends for dinner.
My husband and I came here to celebrate a birthday, and overall we had a wonderful experience. The food was delicious and thoughtfully prepared, which really made the evening feel special. We ordered the grilled redfish and the risotto — the redfish stood out as the star of the meal, cooked perfectly and full of flavor, they used Thai basil in the sauce instead of regular basil, and the grilled fish had smoky flavor. The risotto was good, I loved the touch of hazelnut and peach, but not quite at the same level. We ordered each entree individually and the portion is big. If you came here before 9/14 they’re doing restaurant week special but I personally think the individual dishes worth the value more. As a sweet surprise, the staff brought out a birthday cake, which was a lovely touch. We also tried the truffle dessert (amazing truffle!) and panna cotta , both of which were excellent. The only downside was that, since we visited on a Sunday night, we felt a bit rushed once dessert arrived. Shortly after serving it, the staff let us know another party had checked in for our table, which made us feel like we needed to leave before we were ready. That said, the food and presentation were memorable, and I would recommend this restaurant for the food, the service is ok.
A beautiful restaurant in the heart of Austin! The food is absolutely delicious however, this place is not for the vegetarians. We ordered bottle of wine, around 4 starters and entree for each of us. I loved their Bucatini - very flavorful and every bite felt like heaven. The summer melon salad was good. Tue blistered shisitos was okaish. I was surprised that they had honey in the burrata plate and it couldn’t be separated - I was looking forward to ordering it but couldn’t since I am allergic to honey! We ordered all 4 desserts and as expected the brown butter cake with cinnamon ice cream turned out to be the best. Their house made chocolates were good too. Overall it was a good experience however, my suggestion to them would be to accommodate the dietary restrictions too so that you can cater to more customers if that’s what you are looking forward to from business expansion standpoint. I recommend advance reservations!
Went in on a Monday, for a date night after a ton of recommendations from friends. For a Monday night this place was busy! So I would definitely recommend making a reservation ahead of time, thankfully we did and were sat promptly. Ambiance was great, very warm & cozy. Lively but not too loud. Great wine list by the glass, so we ordered a glass of two funky reds that we both really enjoyed. We started with the Housemade Burrata and Wagyu Beef Carpaccio. Both were phenomenal - the burrata was perfection, well seasoned, and the carpaccio was packed with flavor and so tasty. We ate bites of both as one on the toasted fresh bread that came with the burrata, and it was the perfect pairing! Highly recommend! Then dinner went a little downhill unfortunately... it was about a 40-min wait from the time we finished our appetizers to when we received our pasta entrees. To make it even more annoying, our server didn't seem too phased and only offered to check to see what the delay was after about 30-min. For the mains, we ordered the Mafaldine with house bolognese sauce and the Tortelloni filled with duck confit. The mafaldine was good, except the sauce was cold, but you can tell if it had been served fresh, warm from the kitchen it would've been really good. The tortelloni though, we really wanted to like, but the flavor pairing just didn't work for us - not to mention, this dish was also cold. Such an unfortunate ending to what started as such a promising dinner.
Food was not hot and the flavors were kind of odd. I found it overrated especially based on other reviews I hoped to love it. The pizza was good the pasta was okay. Too dim I had to use my own flashlight to read the menu.
Out of all the incredible restaurants in Austin, this isn’t one I’d recommend spending your time on. There were gnats flying around my food and landing on both the table and me while I was eating, which immediately made the experience uncomfortable. On top of that, we went without water refills multiple times and had long stretches with empty drinks. It felt like service was inattentive throughout the meal. When I asked for extra sauce for my pasta, I was told they “only portion enough sauce for a certain number of dishes.” The food itself was decent, but nothing memorable enough to justify the lack of hospitality. In a city with so many standout dining options, this just isn’t one I’d go back to.
Eh its okay I had the fish ravioli and it tasted like deconstructed pizza. The shishitos were good but not enough for 3 people. The portions for "Sharing" are barely enough for 2 people let alone 3. The bread was good but again 4 slices for 3 people. The saving graces were the deserts, for me the winner was the peach panna cotta. The cake was cornbread like and a little dry but the cinnamon toast ice cream was overpowering but refreshing. Rosé they had tasted like dirt it was not good. The other wines were also very earthy. We got an espresso martini it comes with lavender, the espresso was burnt tasting and overwhelmed the other flavors.
