Great food , authentic Tex -Mex. Give it a try 🌟
I've enjoyed this restaurant for over 10 years now. Their food has always been consistently fresh and tasty. Recommend.
Delicious food, family feel. Will come every time we come back to Austin!!!
Bistek Ranchera... if you were ever privileged to have a grandma that would make you breakfast bc that's just what GRANDMAS do/did when I was growing up. Then order this plate close your eyes and take a bite.... It will take you back to the days back when... just like Grandma Benita O. Trevino used to cook at 6210 Vera Lane... missing you G-ma
Love it here! Amazing breakfast.. first time here in Austin. So this lil place is definitely on the list to revisit!!
Best breakfast tacos and homemade tortillas! Saved us in on 7:30 am flight South Terminal flight and we needed to find food before.
This place was awesome, our first time here we got breakfast tacos, let me tell y’all they did not disappoint! The chicharron were spicy and so soft! This will be our go to spot for tacos! Top it if with a Mexican soda it definitely hit the spot!
This is my go to breakfast place. Very reasonably priced. Breakfast tacos come out packed 100% full and the service is always outstanding. Mom and pops kinda feel which is always nice. Highly recommend!
This place is AMAZING. After living out of state for more than 10 years, I was afraid I'd never eat another perfect plate of Mexican food like I remembered from my childhood. I moved back 3 days ago and have again begun my search for that feel-good, cheesy, not greasy comfort food and WOW does this place deliver. Dad had tacos, mom and I shared a Piggy Plate (taco, gordita, enchilada, rice, and beans) and every single thing was fantastic. Even the chips were the best we've had, and both green salsa options were delicious. Best part is that it's just a few minutes from the airport, so we'll be back for sure whenever someone comes to visit us!
Love this place! I came by and ordered 45 tacos for a work crew and they didn't even blink an eye - they got them ready for me super fast in the middle of lunch rush, and were so nice. The aguas frescas are really good too :)
Awsome breakfast tacos and beans for sure. Nice employees. Checked on me asking if all good. Great salsas. Spicy but not too spicy. First visit for me and I will be back. Very clean inside too!! Don’t drive by thinking it’s not good.
The food here is always amazing and it’s family-run with a really comfortable atmosphere. My family and I have been coming here for years and we will continue to do so for as long as we can!
Best kept secret!!! The food is absolutely amazing! Very friendly family business.
This place is a hidden gem. It's always packed during the morning weekday hours. Call ahead if you can. Everything on the menu is tasty! It's a family run restaurant so you will get to know everyone. A true hole in the wall kind of place.
This place smells so good inside. The cashier was super friendly and provided exceptional customer service to everyone who entered while we were waiting for our order. I love that this place is open early enough for pre-flight breakfast. We ordered breakfast tacos to go (I got huevos y papas c/nopales, while my wife got fideo y frijoles.) I opened my wife’s taco by accident, but I saw enough to know that whenever I’m feeling under-the-weather, I want fideo from Taqueria Morelos. We both got salsa verde. Wife didn’t end up needing hers, but it had the perfect level of spice. Anyway, my taco c/huevos y papas y nopales was so, so good. Just, wow. We will be back to try more menu items.
They have THE BEST chips and salsa! Everything they make is delicious. I really love their lemonade and aguas frescas. The bisteak ranchero is great, so are their gorditas. You won't be disappointed at this restaurant. Whatever you choose, it will be delicious! We visit this place at least once a week.
I loved it here. I always look for good spicy Mexican salsas and this is the perfect place for that. My chilaquiles were tasty and spicy! My chicharrones were also super delicious. We will definitely be going back!
Delicious taco-dive. Friendly staff and the best prices. I only wish they would bring the ice tea back! Also makes me wonder if they repaired the aesthetic if it would taste as good?
I have been in Austin since 1998 and have never had good authentic food like this. My first time coming to this place but definitely not my last. Food was awesome. I inhaled my food it was so good.
Hands down the BEST chips and Salsa. Out jobsite is across the street. Regretfully they are temporarily closed due to a vehicle accident that affected the building. I will be so happy when they re-open.
Limited seating, but definitely worth the wait. Mom and pop feel, homemade dishes. Great service, prompt and courteous.
A hidden gem for breakfast tacos and authentic Mexican flavors If you’re craving some real-deal Mexican food, Taqueria Morelos is the place to be. Their breakfast tacos are everything you want and more—whether you’re a fan of classic bacon and egg or you’re into something heartier like chorizo or carne guisada, they’ve got you covered. And yes, you can get them all day long! The flavors are spot on, and the salsas give the perfect kick without overpowering the dish. I love that it’s low-key—nothing fancy, just good food that’ll fill you up and keep you coming back for more.
Tried this place just today (9/24) for the first time. I had two appointments at the VA with some time between them. I saw this place on Google Maps, and liked what I read, so we gave it a try. I'll have the same situation again on Thursday, so you can bet your botas I will be there again. It's located just past Metropolis and the VA. I had the Enchiladas Verdes with rice and beans. The enchiladas were the best I ever had, and I've had a lot of 'em in my 76 years. The tortillas looked and tasted like they were just made. The chicken was chunky, plentiful, and very flavorful. There was ample white cheese covering them. And the green (tomatillo) sauce was delicious and very spicy. The refried beans were a few cuts above the standard, and the rice was fluffy, moist and tasty. The whole plate seemed like it was right out of Mamacita's cocina. And it was reasonably priced. The chips were above average, and the red sauce was very watery, but absolutely delicious. As to the atmosphere, it was perfect, just the way a Mexican Restaurant should look; small, very, VERY casual, with no pretenses. And the staff was very friendly. Now I will be torn between trying something different, and going with a sure winner. Glad the VA is my main health care provider as I plan to come back often.
Went there last Saturday 4/15 and it was very busy. We knew the place had to be good. First time there. Servers Valeria and Luna were on fire! They were taking orders left and right, serving, taking payments etc. They were super busy but never did they seem upset or exhausted. They were so kind and helpful and not just with us with every customer. It was impressive, it is a very small place but that didn't matter the food was delicious. Home made for sure! I would definitely go back if I am going down to Austin.
Incredibly delicious & entirely authentic! The staff were all super kind & the place was packed with local patrons. This is my new favorite spot for breakfast, after my friend told me that they have been consistently amazing as long as he can remember...
I just ate here for the first time. Having grown up in south Texas, it can be hard to find good Mexican food in an environment that reminds me of home. Not only was the food absolutely incredible and fresh (literally everything was still steaming hot) but the gentleman who I assume is the owner was very kind and approachable. I will be back again and again. I had the huevos rancheros plate with sausage snd I can’t wait to try more items. Thank you guys for being open so early and providing such a delicious meal, I am impressed and thankful.
Food was delicious. Had the Morelos plate. The ranchera sauce was flavorful and spicy. Recommend this plate. Will come to eat here wherever I visit from San Antonio.
Really good food. The parking lot is a little small, but that's expected as the building itself is small. It has a nice family feel to it, and every employee there was really friendly. On top of that my food came out quickly even though they were packed. As far as the food goes, it was excellent! If you want some good Mexican food and you're around the Met Center, I recommend this!
The chips are the best ever! They Come to the table hot crispy and with a touch of oil. Avocado salad was really fresh. Their hot sauce has great flavor, but not so Supper hot that you can’t taste youBbb
Firstly, the servers were all so sweet and nice. For any English speakers, you should know they all speak English as well,I also noticed they called some locals by their first names which says a lot. I had some of the best juevo rancheros I've had in a while. I wish I had found this place earlier in my trip so that I could have eaten more of their plates. Everything is cooked so fresh and the bacon was on point. The BEANS and Salsa 🤤 if you're ever in the area check this place out 🙌
Love that place is managed by very sweet and kind people. God bless them and prosper their little restaurant. Please don't let the looks of the building fool you is a very small place but people that work there have a Big heart♡ And food it's sooooo delicious!!!!
Best tacos I’ve had in the Austin area so far. It’s a house turned into a restaurant, very authentic, you could tell it was family owned. Chicharron tacos were the best. Extremely spicy but delicious nonetheless.
First time coming here from Houston and I really liked their barbacoa tacos. The young guy/server was very welcoming and friendly. Customer service is very important to me and this guy is doing a great job. 😉 Will definitely be back.
Quality of food is very high! Took a little while to get our food but I knew it was because it was being made to order. The only thing I thought could improve was the service. The waiters were polite but didn't really check on us while we waited for the food. Should be more attentive. Other than that highly recommended.
I love this place. I think I only had one bad experience which really was not a big issue. What I ordered was too salty but that didn't stop me from going back. The people are very friendly and kind.
Love this place, I've been eating here for a few years now. The food always taste great. The staff is so nice and friendly. I strongly recommend this place anytime. Personally I love their Al Pastor tacos.
Great place! Chorizo migas ftw! Friendly, family atmosphere not a very big place but worth a stop in if you're on that side of town
We came here right after a delayed flight. I was a bit reserved about the modest facade of the building with some random chickens wandering the parking strip. However, a nice employee got us a table and brought some chips that had come fresh from the frier that were amazing. Our food was equally good. Fresh lettuce, perfectly seasoned meats and beans. I ordered a tall Mexican Coke. Highly recommend!
1st time diner. Very impressed with the service and the food. Looking forward to my next visit.
Been coming here for almost a year now. All I’m gonna say is, I love the breakfast tacos from this place. Life hack: if you’re ever hungover, the bean and bacon tacos will save your life! They’re so damn good.
The breakfast tacos are so good here!
Best breakfast tacos in the area, friendly staff and priced right. Plan on eating there again while in town
Omg…it was so good! The chips and salsa 10/10. I couldn’t stop eating them. They were so fresh and perfect. Guacamole 10/10. Made fresh to order. None of that whipped thin guacamole. My taco and enchilada 10/10. Service was great and fast. But really I wanted to order some and fly home with the chips alone. I wanted to go before I left and it was closed on Sunday and I was sad. If I ever come back to Austin I’m going back!
Small restaurant but great service and the food came out quickly. I ordered a quesadilla and fresh cantaloupe water. Amazing! It's close to my job and I'll definitely be back
Everything is good here! We had breakfast. Authentic and excellent!
This took me back to Mexico! The portions are generous and traditional. I had breakfast birria and eggs with potatoes and tortillas and a huge Janice made in house. Priced right and busy. Parking in front can be tricky with traffic on McCall Rd.
We highly recommend this place , tacos, chilaquiles, gorditas everything was delicious, great costumer service! I can't wait to go back
Such good TACOS!!!!! I had 4 different tacos and I cant decide which was the best. My friends also fully enjoyed their tacos, except for the chicharrones, which was not enjoyed. Overall, this is a great taco stop, well worth the time to get here
This place was packed when I showed up for a Saturday lunch. Full parking lot. Almost entirely full of locals. Good sign. Also meant it was a little slow, but that's OK, given the crowd. Had my standard to start with a place. Chorizo and egg on flour and bacon and egg (plus potato) on flour. Cheap. About $3 per taco. Tortillas were great. Properly warmed up and crisped up a bit. Chorizo was good. Not too greasy. Bacon/potato was OK. Potato was a little dry, but still good. The green salsa is really spicey. Very good, but beware. Will come back and try more. Impressed.
Really good food and service! We had the carne guisada breakfast plate and the migas rancheros as well as the melon agua Fresca. Loved all of it!
Is literally my fav place when I'm hungry early 😂 and always gotta have my tacos and fav plate Huevos Rancheros the sauce is phenomenal!
A true mom-and-pop gem. The phone was constantly ringing for to-go orders, and for good reason; the food is excellent. Quick service, cozy atmosphere, and a steady stream of locals coming in and out. It feels like home. We had chilaquiles and the Morelos plate, both 10/10. Do yourself a favor and pay them a visit!
If you’re brave enough to be the only Gringo in the building, then you’ll be rewarded with amazing Mexican food. The locals know that this place is The Place to go so lunch and dinner can get a little busy. If you’re near the airport and have 30extra minutes, you’ll be wise to spend them here.
There should be nothing but 5 stars for this place!!!! GREAT MENU! He told me to call next time so no wait! Been wanting to stop for months but my snooze clock addiction has prevented it. Never again!! The tacos were fat and delicious!!!! Call ahead of time... Especially if you're late... ... 12/16 Stopped in to try the lunch and I was not let down. The beef enchiladas were excellent and the chips were freshly made. A very affordable place with excellent friendly service.
I love the picadillo y papas and the carne guisada. Both with green salsa. Good service. Feel like this must be family owned. The same person who helped me at the counter 10 years ago is still there making the good stuff.
Delicious food. Great breakfast and lunch. The Carne guisada tacos are always always amazing. Double check your to-go orders before leaving. They have messed up orders a few times too many.
Small taqueria serving what seems like an under served area ,so they were pretty busy in the tiny cramped restaurant, I only had a barbacoa taco to go but it was very tasty and the breakfast plates everyone was having looked delicious and well prepared, looking forward to returning at some point and trying more!
Been away from Texas for 6 months and forgot just how terrific this joint is... tremendous service also. My breakfast was twenty bucks however but that's on me because I drank three glasses of lemonade
This place has some solid Mexican food, but you need to come for the chips. They cook them to order so they are always hot and fresh and mighty tasty especially with the salsa that comes with them.
Fast service. Very polite staff. The daily special, grilled pork chops, was great; the rice perfect and delicious, as were the beans. The chips were made on site and came out hot and crisp and oh so good. I will return.
Good homemade food. I've had the huevos rancheros and the cheese enchilada plate. I'm new to Austin, but the prices seemed a bit high. Other than that, it's a good spot to eat.
Normally no wait and pretty quick food.
Excellent Tacos, friendly staff! The prices seem a bit high considering the condition of the building and dining room. It looks very run down and it's hot inside but again, the food and staff are both great. Will be back!
The food was great. I had a taco and enchilada plate. Sounds simple but often the meat mix is bland....not here. It was tasty with perfect seasoning. Taco was crispy with a lovely amount of fresh and crispy lettuce and tomato. The chips were hot and crunchy. Salsa was tasty. I saw where someone said bathroom was dirty. When I was there it was sparkling clean. It did have an off putting smell but it was clean. The wait staff was lovely, very pleasant and kind. Came around multiple times always asking I needed anything and they were really busy. I can't wait to try some thing else. The chicken mole looked great!
Had the chilaquiles breakfast plate to-go, the food was delicious. The chilaquiles corn tortilla was on point, a little crispy but soft. And the salsa was pretty spicy, I liked it a lot! There was a long wait for the food.
Blue collar taqueria, opens early for breakfast. Generous portions of food, good vlalue.
Great food. Nice home style restaurant. I stop by on my way home from work to get breakfast taco's. Never a let down. Good serving sizes.
I got blood drawn, and was feeling woozy, and what better place to turn that around than a true, local, nearby hole-in-the-wall tex-mex cafe? The establishment is located between a service road, a local road connecting to a highway and a highway - so parking and locating it can be difficult. There is a drive-thru with no menu or speaker, so one would have to lean in and yell into the working kitchen. The ordering counter is immediately to one's right as they enter, and someone smiling and helpful assisted selecting my breakfast through the lightheadedness, and I sat in the back facing a painting the seventies would have rejected. Breakfast tacos and a barbacoa taco soon arrived...and they were pretty good. The bacon resembled more jerky than anything else, but the barbacoa was excellent. My three tacos cost me under $15, and I left pleased. I would definitely recommend if one is in the area - particularly if they recently had their blood drawn.
Got breakfast tacos. Tortillas tasted & looked store bought. Decent sized, salsa was good. Taste was decent also, I wasn't wowed.
Good prices. Beef fajita had good flavor. Egg tortillas were ok. Not much flavor to salsa verde. Definitely authentic but we thought the flavor was average.
I might be biased coming from California, but this place was a let down as far as the food goes. Staff was friendly, but food was sub-par. Bathrooms we're about 20 degrees warmer than the dining area, which is likely due to a broken window or two in the hallway. Cleanliness of tables and floors was questionable, but dishes and silverware looked very clean. It was really close to the airport, so that was a plus, but sitting here now waiting for my flight, I wished I had waited.
Someone HIT and RAN me while I ordered tacos inside the restaurant! Their front outside camera does not work so be VERY vigilant because there are disgusting people who come to eat here that are willing to hit and run you without at least leaving a note!! The tacos were good but not worth the damage cost to my car!!
The food was good and the sun service was all right. It just wasn't clarified what was actually on the plates for the menus. So of course I had to stay there longer than the amount of time they told me initially they told me 10 minutes and it took 20 and then I had to wait again because they had to remake my food because I could have the avocado or the sour cream that was on the plate but it didn't specify that that was on the plate. I would have told them without it
My complaint is not based on the food. The food was good. It was based on the service. They forgot to ring in part of my order, the sever blamed it on the other guy after arguing that I told her 2 instead of 3 tacos then looking at the note she wrote and realized she was wrong and I said 3. She didn’t even apologize for the confusion, she even short changed me and just said have a good day. The food was good, I’m leaving hungry, but the experience was not the best. It wasn’t even busy. I forgot to mention she asked me what kind of salsa then forgot to bring it too. I want to come back and hope it’s better. I didn’t make any fuss about it, but I hope it can change.
Not only did I wait 20min for my order it was not what I expected. I ordered sausage, cheese and potato tacos and got what looked like a McDonalds sausage patty cut in half with unseasoned potatoes and no cheese. Gave them a 2 because my bean n cheese tacos were good at least and the place is reasonably priced.
Came to eat here with my family and there was so many flies The tacos were the smallest tacos ever with store bought Tortillas they xould have at least made up for the store bought Tortillas by filling the tacos. And also the menu had for drink tacos 4.50 a cup of lemonade that was filled to the top with ice! The food did taste good but it's nothing fancy it can be make at home
Horrible service. They get your order wrong if they get it at all. I’ve called in 2x then went to pick up my order and they didn’t even have it. Place is dirty. The food is greasy. You can do much better
Worst place ever I still call and I was realizing that my water with flavor was charged 7 dollars and I tell them and the person that answered decided to cus me out that really poor customer service
Order beef fajita torta with chips and queso and a Coke for $25.42. Torta bread was so hard and burnt I could have knocked someone out with it and the queso was so thick I couldn't eat it with chips because the chip would just break. Offered my dog the rest of my torta and my dog wouldnt even eat the food. Called my order in 15 mins before I got there and had to wait another 20 mins there before I got my food. Let's just say the only thing that was good was my coke. What a disappointment especially because I paid so much.
DO NOT EAT HERE!!! When you order a Barbacoa plate and they give you less Barbacoa than what you would get in a taco and charge $10. We complained, they argued that portion was correct and stated he would add more but it would be the last time. There will not be a second time. Carne guisada was tough. Overall food was flavorless , portions small and therefore over priced. and customer service skills are lacking .
Be aware, this place charges more than their advertised prices. Tried them twice, once on a large order of breakfast tacos for my crew, and once by myself. Both times I confirmed prices before ordering, and both times they changed the price at the cashier. Never again, and I would advise you not to.
Ordered the breakfast platter to go 15minutes ahead of time, still had to wait about another 8 minutes for my order to be ready after I arrived. On top of that I did not receive any butter or syrup for my pancakes. Thanks.
ordered breakfast tacos - paid close to $10. tortillas looked like they were store bought and warmed up on comal. decent size for the price pero definitely not worth for what they are. (most if not all tacos are 2.75 and up)
