Lived up to and exceeded expectations! Great staff, amazing food, lovely atmosphere and the sauna / hot tub to finish really was the cherry on the cake! Thank you for a wonderful experience.

What a welcoming, cosy, romantic, soul warming and indulgent place to stay. The teams hospitality, efficiency, service, accommodation, oldy worldy ambient setting, alongside the food and drinks, was absolutely beyond the meaning of excellence. A superb business which evidently thrives from all of the above offerings, and their eco driven ethos of supporting organic, homegrown and locally sourced products and ingredients, in efforts of sustainability, for the greater good, being close to our hearts. Made a 100% welcomed blessing and enjoyable, memorable experience for us both, for sure! Well done to The Riverside 💚

A rare gem where every aspect of our stay exceeded our expectations. The service is first class, little things like remembering on the second day that I liked brown sauce with my fry up and noticing that the heavy winds were blowing something into the security light outside where we were sleeping and sorting it out. No asking, just done before I’d had need to raise it. All the staff were friendly and never more than a moment away. The food is that brilliant balance of high-end dining and concepts but with simple, high quality ingredients that are locally sourced. Delicious, varied, and well priced. Excellent Negroni, to rival the best I’ve tried. Top fried breakfast, truly, go just for that. I like a black coffee and theirs was first class. They take a breakfast time and order the night before so they have capacity to cook it freshly in the morning. It’s January so the river was roaring away with the window ajar in a cozy, impeccably clean suite. The bed was turned down every day, the bathroom refreshed. A high pressure and hot shower. I won’t hesitate to stay here again.

Fabulous little country pub. Beautiful old building, lovely staff, great food and a nice atmosphere. Lots of parking and wheelchair accessible.

I cannot recommend staying and dining at The Riverside enough. Incredible food; attentive, generous service and staff; gorgeous rooms, and topped off with being located in a stunning area.

We had our wedding here in January. It's really hard to say just how impressed we were with absolutely everything. The service is amazing and a big shout out here to the manager George who couldn't do enough to make our day special despite the Riverside not being a wedding venue. The food is absolutely delicious. Even down to the homemade fudge and conserves served at breckfast. All of our guests said everything they ate was amazing. The rooms are also lovely too. We couldn't have found a better place to celebrate our marriage. We will definitely be visiting again regularly in the future. Thanks all at The Riverside at Aymestrey

Alison and Carl Carl and I wanted a couple of quiet days away after our wedding the previous week, after a long walk before checking in we were not disappointed, from the exceptional food and service to our garden room complete with hot tub, I used the retreat services which were fantastic followed by a picnic which I would also highly recommend. Everything was very professional customer service, rooms and the food was Michelin standard / exceptional.

I right this sitting in the welcome cabin at the outdoor wellness area. Stayed then evening and had the taster course for food. Service, location all totally on point we will be back, I’ve enjoyed it that much we are staying for Sunday lunch which is full but George said he will get us in. Fantastic a real gem

George and Andy behind the scenes are incredible. Their passion for perfection shines through, sustainable/ homemade preserves/ black pudding/ homemade sweetmeets ❤️❤️❤️ Our Christmas dinner was unsurpassable ! Pheasant was delicious ! Turkey was succulent/ beef excellent! Desserts excellent!!!

We have eaten at most the renowned eateries in the area and are certain that our meal was as good as any. The staff were pleasant and welcoming. The food without exception was excellent including cured trout and lamb terrine as starters along with one of the best (and bluest!) beef sandwiches we have eaten and a delightful pork dish with an intriguing use of mooli. A splendid cheeseboard with local cheeses from the Monkland dairy finished this highly memorable meal.

The Riverside is a real gem. The food and service are outstanding and the location next to the river is a delight. It offers the ideal centre for exploring the various walks in the surrounding countryside, or simply a night or two's pampered relaxation.

Great location , fantastic service credit to the staff. 14 of us had a selection of food last Thursday and all really enjoyed each course the turkey was just perfect amazing roast potatoes , the comments on the duck and Bass were equally as good And OMG bread&butter put to die for . please sir can I have some more

George and the other staff were super kind and helpful. The food is the best roast we've ever had!! Absolutely delicious and we were all stuffed. Thankyou!

Absolutely fabulous country Riverside Inn set in a perfect location allowing you to immediately relax and indulge in the fabulous hospitality offered by the professional team. The menu is wonderfully creative and presented to a high standard. We stayed over and were extremely happy with the whole experience. We would highly recommend and look forward to returning soon to enjoy the Christmas festivities in style.

From the beginning to the end we had the most amazing time, all the food is unbelievable, the service was outstanding and rooms are quirky, clean and very comfortable, we would definitely recommend!! Thank you, you made our friends 60th very special!

This was our third stay at the Riverside Inn and it will not be our last. We can not fault any of our stays - from the wonderful garden room, the excellent service and fantastic food. Everything on the menu is grown at the inn or locally sourced which is a brilliant ethos to have. Thank you to George, Andy and all the team for making us feel so welcome.

One of the best roast chicken dinners I've ever had. Fabulous! Locally sourced too. Every item was delicious. Breakfast was wonderful too with home made baked beans! The jams were home made too. We had a lovely stay. Staff friendly and ensured we had a thoroughly good stay. Definitely coming back!

Absolutely fantastic food! A wonderful culinary surprise. We thought the food would be good and after a 4 hour walk with our two dogs we had good appetites and we left very sated. I was a bit apprehensive about eating snails but oh my! they were covered in the most delicious delicate batter with a dip on the side..yum! My beef fillet and cheek dish was so tender it was divine. Wish we lived nearer and took photos. It's a must:)

We stayed one night with friends travelling with a dog . Attention to detail fantastic (doggie bowl and towel ) Food Amazon , rooms really nice with comfortable beds and exemplary service from the team. Would highly recommend a visit

Visited The Riverside for an anniversary lunch with my wife, our 1 year old daughter and our dog. So happy we chose this place not knowing much about the local area. We were made to feel incredibly welcome and at home throughout our visit. Right from the start a staff member came out to help point out where we could park, and this level of service and warmth continued throughout including a little additional touch for our anniversary. The pub itself felt warm and cosy (we sat in the bar area where dogs are welcome) with a mixture of comfortable seating areas and dining table and a log burner on the go. The food is excellent. Some might say it’s on the on the ‘pricier’ side but I felt it was good value for the quality which is what I really care about. Makes amazing use of local produce - especially Herefordshire beef! Accompanied by a great drinks menu including Herefordshire sparkling wine and local cask ales. Would absolutely make a trip to come back and recommend it to any family or friends visiting the area.

We love the Riverside and have been eating there for many years now, and have had several special occasions there too. The chef is brilliant, and it wouldn't be the same without George! I have only given the location 4 stars because it can sometimes be a bit tricky parking

Stayed here for two nights while on business in the area, and cannot fault anything! From the staff on arrival, excellent room, great food, especially the breakfast, everything was faultless. Great to see available EV chargers in the car park too. Thank you to everyone, I'll definitely be returning when in the area again!

Very comfortable room with everything one would need. Including some superb flapjack! We had breakfast and dinner here. Quite a wide choice for breakfast with some excellent sourdough. The dinner menu was shorter but that meant they could ensure that each item was superb. The service we had was excellent. The only slight mote was that the drinks were a little expensive but, on the other hand, the food was well priced for the quality we received.

We ate in the restaurant/bar. The food was very good. Would have preferred a table in the restaurant rather than adjacent to the bar. It was our first visit so didn't realise there were other seating areas - we would have asked for a different table. Parking was a bit tight.

Booked as a surprise for my birthday, it was a delight from start to finish. A warm welcome and excellent food, drink, packed lunches and recommended walking routes added up to a 5 star stay. Nothing was too much trouble, and we'd both like to thank the whole team for a wonderful experience. Hope to see you again!

We had dinner here and it was AMAZING. We were just visiting the area and stopped by.... what a little gem. Service was friendly and professional. They catered to my gluten free vegetarian needs too... thank you so much for a lovely meal

Popped in for lunch on Saturday without booking and we were made very welcome, with tea and fudge by the fire. My lunch (a vegan stew) was delicious, hearty and full of flavour. My partner had roast cauliflower which he said had loads of interesting flavours and was really thoughtfully prepared. I think we were served by George, who was very friendly and helpful, whilst also giving us space for ourselves. It's a lovely old building, in a great location by the river. Would happily go back.

The most outstanding sharing platter I have ever tasted, above & beyond service and amazing wild escape hot tub/sauna. Genuine efforts in sustainability too.

Lovly place to stay. Staff were very accommodating, if you sit out by the river you can watch the bats at night flying under and around the bridge. Have already recommended and will definitely be my go to if I visit the area again.

Went for lunch. Excellent food a reasonable price. It's a very old building by a small river. It's very unusual in many ways. Excellent service. Limited parking.

We booked here for a Sunday lunch. The service was so friendly and exactly the right pace. The food was tasty, offering a lot of different flavours to a typical roast. Great wine list.

Oh dear, not sure what’s happened there today but a guy with his phone loudly sounding off loudly every minute and taking calls on speaker phone ruined it for us and staff said nothing. Had to move table but still doing his best to disturb everything. Left as fast as possible and wasted £120. Deal with it guys!!!

Booked a table for a special Birthday - got there early and table was booked for 7:15pm - told to wait for the table that was free and empty and made to sit in a waiting area - by 7:50pm no sign of any food - decided to leave as the service was not great - will not be going back there again - this was a Tuesday night so Christ help if you go at the weekend - Parking is awful - big pot holes in the parking area and risk of damage to cars the way people park. For the prices they charge they should at least sort the pot holes and parking as older people could injure themselves walking to the venue.
