Showed up on a beautiful spring day to have some tacos. Was greeted right away by a wonderful hostess and asked to sit at the bar with a friend. The server (never asked for his name), was very friendly along with the rest of the staff. The tacos from Left to Right in the picture were Fish Taco, Shrimp Taco and Buffalo Chicken Taco. All 3 were extremely filling. The prices are reasonable. Now on to the margaritas. The house margaritas knocks it out of the park. Very dangerous on an empty stomach 😂 The berry margarita was a surprising change and had a great depth of flavor. I was even willing to try the Rum Punch but remembered I didn't walk there so I had to postpone it to my next visit. It is a family friendly establishment as I did see families with toddlers. As you look around the room, you see everyone satisfied with their choices. Nothing but smiles. Highly recommended.

Because tacos are pretty much my favorite food of all time, I’ve been dying to try Swell Taco in Babylon for as long it’s been open. I finally got the opportunity on Friday 3/23/18 and it was well worth the wait! In fact, I’m mad at myself for not getting to this place sooner!! I went with a group of about 12 guys from work and although they had to break our group into 3 separate tables, we were just happy to be seated as soon as we walked in and not have to wait for a table because we had less than an hour to get back to work. We told our waitress we were in a rush and she took good care of us. She put our order in right away and dropped our checks right after our meals came out so that we could just leave as soon as we were finished eating. The chips and salsa verde that they put on the table was a great snack to nosh on while we waited for our tacos. The chips came out fresh and warm and the salsa verde was very flavorful. I could tell that they were both made fresh in house that day. For my tacos, I ordered one of each: a pork carnitas taco, a ground beef taco and a fish taco. The pork carnitas was filled with shredded pork, more of that excellent salsa verde, cheddar and pickled red onions, which I love on tacos. This was my favorite taco out of the three. The ground beef taco was the closest to a traditional taco and was loaded with seasoned ground beef, lettuce, cheddar and pico de gallo. I love regular ground beef tacos and this one was one of the best I’ve had. The fish taco was the one I was most excited to try. I used to make killer fish tacos at a clam bar that I used to work at in Sayville and I’ve been searching for fish tacos that can compare to the ones I used to pump out. I have to say, the chef at Swell Taco might’ve possibly taken his inspiration for this fish taco from my fish taco because it was as close as I’ve ever tasted it. The mahi mahi was fresh and delicious and the chipotle mayo on top of the lettuce, cheddar and salsa brought gave it a creamy spicy bite. Not better than mine, but definitely pretty close. I now know that I made a mistake by waiting so long to try out Swell Taco. I won’t make that mistake again. I’ll be back before you know it!

Very loud place. The wait for a table was long even though we reserved on line for 5 people. It was a friday night and it was busy. The food was very tasty, I find that the taco did not have enough in them. I also got the Big papa burrito which has potato and steak, it wasn't a big burrito and it didn't have enough filling but It was tasty. This place is more of a young crowd kinda place. Would I go back, hmm maybe.

Very cool spot in Babylon Village to hang out and get quick Mexican style food and good drinks. The Buffalo chicken eggrolls were delicious I got the Buffalo soldier burrito, it was pretty good. When you’re there you could look around the place and everybody is drinking the berry margarita. along with the other popular drinks are the pineapple margarita, the jalapeño margarita and the mango margarita. we also had some tacos which were good. Overall I would recommend coming here to have a few drinks and check out the atmosphere of the restaurant. Everybody loves the island vibe. Keep in mind this place is small and it gets extremely busy. On a Friday or Saturday night to well over an hour. Don’t let that stop you though, I would still certainly recommend checking out swell taco!

Low prices. Quality food. Great place to sit and chill great choices Of American Mexican cuisine. Started off with a jalapeño margarita. Super fresh tasting. The jalapeño was green and ripe and spicy! Be careful! Lol. The chips that come out on the table are good. But the tomatillo green sauce that comes out with is is the best thing here! Yummmm Addicting sauce. Seriously. Forgot to take photos of the food because o was so hungry. Anyway I ordered 3 crunch and munch tacos. They come with ground beef in them. And the beef is not greasy. Basically a hard taco with a layer of retried beans. And put a soft taco inside. Also ordered a carne asada steak. Which was very good. They should make the chips Mexican colored. And maybe incorporate some horseradish into dishes. Come here grab a beer and a taco. Great value

I have being going to Swell Taco for a few years now and have never been disappointed with the food. Always fresh, taste great and great quality. However on a recent visit I had a very disappointing experience. Not sure when this started but now they let dogs into the facility. I understand that it was in the front on the porch area but that is still enclosed and the doors leading out there were wide open as well. At one point I looked down at my food and it was covered in dog hair, my drink had dog hair floating in it and my sweatshirt was covered. Don’t get me wrong, I love dogs but not in a food establishment that’s closed in. What if someone was allergic to dogs? Something was mentioned to a staff member and she did apologize but then she shrugged her shoulders and walked away. Very sad to say goodbye to swell taco.

Menu price showed $12.99, but my pickup order came out to $19+ for just one burrito. I paid, but felt caught off guard. Prices should be clearly explained before the order is finalized.

I had to wait 10 minutes for my food and when I got home my appetizer for my family the nachos all were soggy because I had to wait for so long for somebody to help me. Everybody was really rude telling me OK somebody will be right with you nobody was right with me. They took their sweet time. The person in front of me told me he was waiting 10 minutes already prior to when I got there Also, very skimpy on the nachos just cause it’s takeout. Doesn’t mean that nachos should be less loaded. Thought that was Really cheap of your restaurant.

Good food plagued by terrible wait times. I shouldn’t have to wait 40 minutes for a table on a Monday night. I am never able to dine here. You guys need to expand and get more tables. There’s barely any to begin with.

The food here is great no complaints there. However the the bathroom set up is seriously disappointing espically for a family friendly restaurant. When you walk to the bathroom you enter through a shared doorway that leads to both men and women’s the problem is men’s room is completely visible when the door opens and closes. It’s feels incredibly awkward and uncomfortable especially when you’re walking by with kids. As a parent I don’t want to walk my child past that. It’s not a matter of preference it’s a basic issue of privacy and comfort that should be taken more seriously in a public restaurant. Again the food is great and I would love to continue coming here but I really hope management takes this feedback seriously. A better bathroom setup would make a huge difference and show customer that their comfort and experience truly matters

The food at best was mediocre. The atmosphere was nice, no complaints there. The real issue we had was when the waiter asked if we wanted sourcream for our quesadilla and we said ok, there was a $2.50 charge. We asked for some more salsa to dip our tequitos since the Chipotle ranch wasn't very good and behold an additional $3.50 charge for that. They also charge a credit card fee. I would absolutely never go back, my experience was less than "Swell" to say the least.
