Very simple, VERY GOOD. I was extremely pleased with the food and the service at Indian Village. They do have Vegan menu options and they are Great. My server was very attentive and nice. I had the Dal Tadka. Don't know what it means, but I know it tastes excellent. I ordered it with the highest level of spice. Had tears, sweat and snot running out. It was HOT, but very good. I highly recommend this place. I came, I ordered, I ate. Famous new words. This place is friggin great. The service is very good and very proficient. The atmosphere is totally Indian, which is excellent. I would love to experience the same foods in India. The food, well, suffice it to say, if you love food, you will love this. Today I had the Tofu Mixed Vegetables, Pulao Rice, and Garlic Naan. EXCELLENT!!!!! I highly re-reccomend Indian Village. I cannot say enough good things about the food here. I have not been disappointed in all the times I ate at Indian Village. Today I had the Garlic Naan, ALWAYS great, the Basmati Rice, and the Paneer Tikka Masala. Heaven!!!!!. I am stuffed and happy.

Stumbled upon Indian Village while traveling back to the Bay Area from Death Valley, and what a discovery it turned out to be! Fair warning though – this is a small family-run operation with very limited support, so patience is key here. Order everything at once and give them ample time for food prep, because rushing things won't help anyone, least of all you. Now, coming to what really matters – the food. The taste and quality is absolutely top-notch, and honestly, the pictures do all the talking. What impressed me most was that even the naans, rotis, and kulchas are freshly made to order, which is increasingly rare these days. But here's a pro tip that saved my meal – let them know your preferences upfront. I personally enjoy thin and crispy breads, so I made sure to tell them explicitly to keep the garlic naan and rotis absolutely thin and crispy, and they delivered exactly that. The next time I ordered, I forgot to mention it and got the standard version which was a bit thicker than I prefer. Small detail, but it makes all the difference when you know what you like! The people running the restaurant seem to be new to the hotel industry, me thinks. They don't quite understand the nuances of customer service or order turnaround time expectations, so you'll need to forgive them for that. I really had to pester them quite a bit to let me order what I wanted, which, let's be honest, is not how things should work in the hospitality business. But then again, for the delicious food they're cooking, I'd go back in a heartbeat, unless I find better options in the area. The kadhai paneer was nothing short of excellent – redolent of spices, it came loaded with nice soft chunks of paneer and perfectly tossed bell peppers and onions that still had a slight crunch to them. The balance of flavors was spot-on, making it easily the star of our meal. The chole, comparatively, were just okay. Not bad by any means, but didn't quite reach the heights of the kadhai paneer. But the real showstopper was the Amritsari kulcha – an absolute bomb of flavors! Topped generously with fennel seeds and sesame, it had that authentic Punjabi dhaba quality that transported me straight to the streets of Amritsar. Now, if you're not a fan of fennel or sesame, let them know beforehand, or you could do what I did – just brush it off with your fingers and enjoy the rest. Either way, that kulcha paired with the kadhai paneer was pure bliss. All in all, Indian Village delivers authentic, homestyle North Indian vegetarian food with genuine passion, even if the service needs a bit of polishing. The fact that everything is made fresh and they're willing to customize according to your preferences (if you insist enough!) makes it worth the slight inconvenience. Perfect pit-stop if you're traveling on I-5 and craving some serious desi comfort food!

Amazing food and lovely people! We tried chole bhature, tofu mix veg, lachha paratha, jeera rice, pulav, and veg biryani — everything tasted just like home. So flavorful and comforting. The staff is incredibly kind and down to earth. Hands down the best Indian food we’ve had in California so far!

I am a big review person so wherever I go I make sure I look at the review before going in to dine to any restaurant. Before going here I read through all the recent reviews and they were all veryy great and hence i had to try it out to see for myself. We went in for dinner and we order Malai kofta, garlic naan, tandoori momos, paneer butter masala. Like all other reviews I faced the same issue of them taking good time to prepare so BE PATIENT is all I can say because when the food comes, you can see it yourself why it takes time, they dont keep things ready from what I understood, they prepare everything after receiving the order so its all warm and fresh when they serve that is what we were looking for good indian fresh food. You could taste that authentic taste! Everything we ordered was really good and we were extremely happy!

Casual place for some great flavors! All vegetarian options with a solid selection of vegan dishes. Portions are on the smaller side but the flavors are big! Unique items not often found in other Indian restaurants.

We stopped here on our way to Vegas just as it was getting late, and the owner was kind enough to keep the restaurant open for us. The food was fantastic and had a wonderful homestyle feel—the rotis were especially amazing! As a dedicated non-vegetarian, I was blown away by how delicious the vegetarian dishes were. To top it off, we accidentally left our laptop bags behind, and the owner literally ran after us to return them. He saved us a huge trip back and showed such incredible honesty.

A Vegetarian friend of mine was in town, we decided to eat at Indian Village. Im not a vegetarian myself, I like a good steak. Anyways ,I was highly impressed with the Indian style food. The taste was to die for. And they treated us like we were the most important customers. Very kind, and helpful, I have a new love for Indian food. And look forward to eating there again. Service was awesome 👌.

We stopped at this restaurant in Bakersfield on our way to Death Valley, and honestly, the exterior and overall floor setup might seem a bit deceiving at first — but don’t let that fool you. The food is absolutely delicious! We ordered Malai Kofta, Sarson Da Saag, Paneer Butter Masala, along with Amritsari Kulcha with Chhole, Garlic Naan, Makke Di Roti, and Tandoor Roti — and everything was outstanding. The real standout was the Amritsari Kulcha with Chhole — just superb. Fresh, authentic, and packed with flavor. The breads were perfectly made — soft, flavorful, and served hot. The owner and staff are incredibly welcoming and kind. You can truly see the pride they take in their service and freshly made, authentic recipes. Everyone in our group, including the kids, loved the food. We will definitely be coming back again!

This was one of the best and authentic Punjabi food I had. The food was so flavorful and simply amazing. The food is homemade and the service takes a bit of time. The wait is worth it. You will be thrilled. Not all the items on the menu are available. They were also able to customize the order for my little one. You will not go wrong by picking this gem!

Hi all, This review is coming straight from the heart — hands down, some of the best food I’ve had recently! The freshness of the ingredients and the unique flavors were unforgettable. Highly recommended for true food lovers. If you appreciate great food, you must try this place — it’s easily the best in town. All stars to the chef! I even called to leave a tip after the meal and learned she is the owner. I will definitely be going back as often as I can. It’s Real Indian food

While driving from LA to SF around dinner time, we searched for a vegetarian place on Google and are so glad we stopped here. The food was absolutely soulful and delicious. We loved the dal fry and saag paneer, and the breads, especially the aloo paratha and roti were incredibly comforting, just like a home-cooked meal my mom would make. The place was clean, and the owner personally checked in with guests. A perfect stop for fresh, tasty vegetarian food on a long drive. Highly Recommended!

We stopped by this Indian vegetarian restaurant for lunch while driving back from Las Vegas to San Jose, and it was a great decision. The food quality truly stood out — everything was freshly made, served hot, and tasted excellent. You can tell a lot of care goes into the preparation and ingredients. This is not a traditional dine-in setup with waiters or table service, so don’t expect someone to seat you or take orders at the table. However, if you are focused on authentic, high-quality vegetarian food rather than formal service, this place delivers very well. Overall, we were very impressed with the food and would absolutely stop here again on our next drive. Highly recommended for anyone looking for good Indian vegetarian food on the road.

We were sceptical initially seeing such high rating, as most of the people had given good reviews. But this was the best decision to come here for lunch. This place is a family run business and the food and hospitality is reflective of that. Everything we ordered was awesome. My favourite was saag and makki di roti. Kids loved the chole and poori. Highly recommended.

If you’re looking for a fancy atmosphere or a quick grab and go meal, this isn’t the place. But if you want incredible vegetarian food that feels like a home cooked meal, Indian Village is a total hidden gem. It’s a "hole in the wall" joint run by a husband and wife team who clearly put a lot of heart into the cooking. We had the Butter Paneer Masala, Channa Masala, Tandoori Roti and Jeera Rice. Unlike a lot of Indian restaurants, the food wasn't greasy or heavy at all. It was just fresh and flavorful. The Tandoori Rotis were the highlight for me. They were so soft and reminded me exactly of the dhaba food back home. A couple of tips before you go: Be patient. Everything is made fresh, so the food doesn't come out instantly. It’s worth the wait. Beat the rush. If you’re on a tight schedule, try to get here early before the main crowd arrives. It’s worth every penny and more. Go for the food, you won't be disappointed!

We loved the authentic taste, made to order, so be patient or go with what they have ready and still won’t feel disappointed. They even customized and made one puri when I told my little one would only eat that. Very sweet and kind warm place where you will not just taste home but also feel home in a faraway land!

We intentionally take 99 so we can stop by this place whenever we visit our family in LA. The food tastes clean and wholesome and the one dish my partner loves is pretty much only served at this restaurant- not on the menu though... It's called, sarsok or sarson, a dish made from Indian mustard greens which is usually replaced by spinach at other restaurants. According to my partner, this authentic dish is a must during winter. This is not your typical "Indian restaurant" you find at most towns but more like a home cooked meal you'd find at that special Indian Aunti's house. I love that dishes are perfectly seasoned and perfectly salted. We usually find dishes too salty when we eat out.

Indian Village (Vegetarian Kitchen) serves really good food that truly feels like home-cooked meals. You can confidently order any main course from their menu—everything tastes great. However, they do not offer appetizers; only main courses are available. The main drawback is the service time—it takes around 30–40 minutes for food to be served. They also don’t seem to accept online or phone orders, so it’s best to visit and order in person. The restaurant appears to be understaffed, which may explain the delay. That said, apart from the wait time and limited staff, the food is absolutely finger-licking good and worth trying.

I ordered the Tofu Tikka Masala and it was delicious! The gobi Manchurian was really yummy as well! I also got an order of the garlic naan which was good too! It was empty when I went but it was pretty clean. The lady was friendly. If you go I believe their AC doesn't work it's kind of hot inside.

We had lunch at this place thinking it was a regular dine in restaurant. They didn't appear happy that we were there. Very brusk in our interactions. I believe they are designed to be take away only. We were given a paper plate and a plastic spoon. Twenty plus minutes later, we received the food we ordered. No napkins until we asked and some were dropped on our table. Our food was fine but they do not serve rice with the meal. We didn't know this and asked if rice was included because at every other Indian restaurant we've been served the meal with rice. Instead of telling us no it isn't, they brought out some rice to us halfway through our meal. When we got the bill we found out they charged us an additional $4 for the rice. First time we've ever encountered that in an Indian restaurant. With so many other places to eat, I'd suggest going somewhere else.
