This Store is the best we ever ate at. We live over 39 miles from it. Anytime we in area we go there. We been coming to yours store for years. This lunch was kinda our Birthday tradition we try to do lunch as much as possible near both our Birthday. Mine the 12th wife's birthday 15th.

One of the better ran fast food restaurants in the DFW area. Consistently deliver quality food, quickly and accurately. My goto place when the family wants to enjoy some tasty fried fish! Only Captain D's left that still has clams on the menu.

2 minutes till close and we didn’t even know because we hate being those people. But she still took our order. Great food definitely recommend spicy fish.

I've been to the Richardson and West Monroe locations before and wasn't expecting to run into this one, so of course it was what lunch was gonna be! Went through the drive thru around 11:30 a.m. today, and I have to say the service was unexpected - just a really nice worker at the window with an actual soul! Not saying the other locations don't have good service. They just are there doing a job. I was greeted with an upbeat attitude at the window like they were genuinely passionate about their job and cared about customer service. Again, I wasn't expecting that at all, so here's my review! I ordered the butterfly shrimp, and as usual, it's the best shrimp, consistently cooked with other locations, and it is a great price!

We don't live near a Captain D's or any fish place that we enjoy so anytime we want fish and shrimp we make the 90 minute drive to Balch Springs. We enjoy the nice employees and the food is always fresh. My only complaint this trip was the fish batter was very gooey on the inside. Next time I'll ask for well cooked batter. The prices are still so reasonable so we both ate bigger platters. A well spent $20 for dinner.

This is the best fried fish and fries I've ever had at a fast food restaurant. Everything was cooked perfectly. The dining room was clean. A manager walked through, checking to make sure people's food was good. Before we left, another employee stopped by and bussed our table. Excellent!

I've always loved Captain D's but haven't had them I years cause there aren't many in Dallas. I was not a bit disappointed as always. There fish is always hot and fresh, hushpuppies are some of the best. Service was fairly fast and my food was delicious and my order was correct. The young lady working the drive thru was very friendly even when my toddler woke up wanting to add something to drink at the window.. Im not sure what type of fruit punch they have but it is DELICIOUS..Keep up the great work and I can't wait to visit again. Almost a year later Google asked me to update my review and they still get 5 stars.

Everything tasted fresh and delicious. The staff were all very nice. I love how they come around with iced tea to refill your cups. Also, the manager came around asking how everything is. The best experience! We highly recommend this location.

2nd time trying and great food. First time my daughter wasn't to much into the fish but this time we may have order just as it was made and she loved it with battered shrimp. Hushpuppies taste good. Recommend trying. Add the corn as replacement for fries and you won't regret.

Service was great and they even were bring food out to everyone instead of having to walk up there and take it back. Very helpful! The store was clean and the restroom was clean too. I always go through Drive Thru and order hushpuppies and sometimes funnel sticks. That's it. The workers are younger kids, same ones at times, very nice. They always have a smile which is good.

Workers are friendly and fast. Even at busy time, fast fresh food. Manager is a huge @$!#. We asked a question to the lady at the register, he almost cut our heads off answering over her. She apologized for him immediately and he didnt even notice so they must be used to doing it. If you can avoid the manager, come in and eat!

Because I don't eat their fish and chicken. It was good, I wish they had a vegetable platter, it would be nice to go more often. But I have to order everything separately and that cost too much to go too often. The staff was friendly and the revamped atmosphere is nice.

I could tell that it would have been good if it had been freshly cooked. I will give this place one more try. Update: I like the food here. I haven't had any issues since my first visit. It's a regular go to now.

Food is good. $-$$. Clean. Adequate parking except during peak hours. Easy on/off to freeway. Local and traveler stop. Restrooms. No senior discount. I no longer stop here. Their locked in to Pepsi drink products which I have never been able to drink due to the taste.

The team members were nice! The facility was clean. The catfish was really good. However, the broccoli had no flavor, no seasoning and just bland. The coleslaw was off. I had to spit it out because it was spoiled. It’s been a while since I’ve purchased food from Captain D’s. Got to the drive thru speaker, ordered a 5.99 2 fish and fries and the girl i guess named elyana, was so quick to ask if i wanted to add shrimp and i declined it and asked for another order of the 5.99 i was gonna order some more stuff like drinks but she was so quick and impatient to let us finish and then when we got to the window the nice gentleman with the dog tags around his neck in a green jacket was patient enough with us to fix our order cause the girl only put one of our items on the ticket

The food was hot and fresh, but I noticed something troubling. I was the only Black customer there, and while a Hispanic staff member brought orders to Hispanic customers, I had to get up and grab mine myself—even though I was seated and waiting like the others. That experience didn’t sit right with me, and I won’t be returning to that Captain D’s. I hope you’ll work on making sure all customers are treated equally. Do Better! SMH!

So I decided to go back to this location the food was awful I don't know what's going on the fried green tomatoes wasn't a fried green tomato it was a regular tomato fried soggy the inside wasn't cooked as soon as we pick up the tomato the batter came off if you look at the picture it look like it's fried perfect but it wasn't good at all the fish had a strong fishy smell and it was not good my family and I threw our food in the trash the only thing that was good was the new tenders but was very small I was upset because I have been coming here since 2010 and it has changed a lot I miss the old crew date visited was on 06/29/2024.

I ordered 2 pieces of fish a la carte, separately, on purpose. I was buying one as a treat for my cats who just had surgery, so that one was ordered "classic." The other piece, for myself, was ordered "spicy." However, not only were the two separate orders together in one box, but both filets were SPICY. I tried to separate the white part from the spice to see if they'd eat it, but I guess they could still smell the pepper and literally wasted it. They were such good boys today and deserved this treat, so I feel sad I couldn't give them their reward. As this was not my first disappointment at this location - plus the fact that I don't like your tartar sauce (unlike LJS which I love) - I will not patronize the Elam Rd store again. Please pay better attention to the order details.

Everything was good until I bite into my fish. I am not sure what they are selling and calling it White fish but it looks and tastes like chicken. I had the batter fried and the Manager made me the. The fish was inedible. I took two bites & my tongue said nope. Just those two bites made me sick for 3 days. I couldn't keep anything down. The lady at the drive through was frustrated because she didn't know a lot of English & I wasn't able to understand her so I had to ask her to repeat herself twice. I ordered from the location at general in 30 at least twice a week at least I tried to order twice a week I was really trying to give them another chance tonight just did it all I got was three orders of nothing but Grease just grease I don't even understand how they can sell food like this and I asked was it fresh I went inside because the drive-thru line was so long but this is not fair I spent over $30 for something that's in I can't eat I tried to call them you can't get through on the phone it just goes to a generic voicemail I tried every number that's listed for all of the locations I don't know I'm going to post this on my podcast maybe we should get together and try to collectively file some complaints or something because something has to be done

I ordered my food from door dash and there was plastic in my loaded baked potatoes I have GI issues and to put plastic in the loaded potatoes. She yelled to the back to change my order for "to go", as if it were some inconvenience, but I don't see what difference it makes, since all the orders are served in the same styrofoam and cardboard containers, which you could see at the tables where other customers were seated. Angela was really rude the entire time talking to someone else over the intercom, and yawning with her mouth wide open while taking my order. They also did a terrible job of preparing my order, because I ordered the shrimp and crab fisherman basket, but they gave me crab and fried oysters. When they served my food, instead of handing it to me and saying "thanks" they just left it on the counter in front of my face as she was talking to someone else on the intercom. The staff are poorly trained to fulfill your orders, and even less so to attend the customers. They don't welcome your business, nor treat you like a valued customer, and they are not skilled at preparing unsophisticated, deep fried bar food. Unhelpful amateurs are lazy, giving customers an attitude, and this is what they call "working". Rude, unprofessional, the worst.

I've been eating here off and on for years food was horrible and a customer has been lost. All the food I left behind due too the hush puppies wasn't cooked the coleslaw was too watery the green beans was cold and had a sour taste when brought too the management attention I was told he couldn't do anything about refunding me but he said 1.13 was my refund for green beans and coleslaw only from management. I paid 10.00 for the meal and had to go elsewhere to eat again..money thrown away at Captain D's and the plastic ware was nowhere to be found because the waitress had all of them in her Apron everybody had too ask her for plastic ware Wow!!

NEVER order here. They make you wait 10+ minutes when there’s no line and will give you the SMALLEST pieces for $10+. What a shame, businesses make record profits, paying employees barely anything and treating their customers like trash. Do better captain D’s. This is a disgrace to the franchise!

Disgusting! The fish was still raw and cold! My mom was throwing up after taking one bite and noticed the uncooked pink fish! Usually it is white crispy breakable fish but this was bending and raw! Very disappointed horrible experience!

I used to love Captain D’s fish, but after my recent visit, I won’t be going back. The texture of the fish has completely changed, and it even has an odor now. At first, I thought I just got a bad batch — but come to find out, they actually changed their fish. The new fish has a weird, chicken-strip-like texture, and I did not like it at all. I’m honestly disappointed because Captain D’s used to be my favorite fast-food spot for fish. I can already tell a lot of people are going to stop buying it after tasting this new version. If they keep serving this low-quality fish, I wouldn’t be surprised if it hurts their business. The only things I could eat were the fries and hushpuppies — the fish was that bad. It’s spongy, has a funky smell, and just doesn’t taste right. I don’t know what they’re feeding us, but even my dog wouldn’t eat it — and he eats everything.
