Great beer in a relaxed atmosphere. Just what a business man needs after a good day of work! I would recommend coming here and checking it out. The exemption beer is top notch, yet I went with the blonde tonight!
Simple, good food, great beer all at good prices. UPDATE: Back again for a burger and flight with a table of eight with three kids. Shout out to Brice who had fun with the kids and did an outstanding job! Well worth the 45 minute drive. Once again a great experience .
Melony was a great server. Food was great, but mac and cheese could have used a bit of salt. Otherwise good was spot on. Carryout beer special 3 4packs at 20% off left us able to get one for each of us, which was excellent.
Bartender was amazing food was more amazing! Drinks were perfect seriously not a bad thing to say!!!
My wife and I took a friend out here for some dinner and drinks. This place did not disappoint! The beer is always good and the food is fantastic as well. I got the nachos and grilled cheese while my wife got the pretzel with beer cheese and BBQ sandwich. The pretzel was huge and the nachos were delicious. While my grilled cheese was good, my wife's BBQ sandwich was phenomenal with the deduction-infused sauce. We will definitely be back!
If I lived in Bargersville I’d be drinking here all the time. We’ve long been fans of their beer and this was a great experience. Staff is extremely friendly and all over our dog. Will definitely come here again.
Since 2013 Taxman has been the GOAT. The brewery is gorgeous m, the staff is always attentive and so friendly, the food is killer, and the beer is EPIC. They’ve really nailed their niche and mastered the Belgian Ales. You can never go wrong with their flagships (Gold Standard in particular). Their food is absolutely amazing. Plenty of space, plenty of TVs to watch the games of the day, is and will always be the GOAT of the entire Southside.
Great experience all the way around. I’m here on business and saw the already great reviews and the service here just backed it up. The food, beer, and appetizers were delicious! The staff was very friendly and welcoming but not overbearing at all.
We love eating at Taxman. The craft beer is so good and they have different flavors all the time. The food is also really good. Sadie did such a good job for us as our server tonight. We come to Taxman often and we will definitely be back!
I have to sat for being a Brewery, I actually like the food better than the beer. The Mushroom & Swiss Burger (seen in post) is possibly the best M&S burger to ever touch my tastebuds. Look at the loaded Fungi on that thing. Absolutely a party in my mouth. The Brisket sandwhich was enjoyed as was the Mac and cheese. Not pictured is the Pretzel served w beer cheese and mustard which was so good we ordered a 2nd double... get the double you won't be upset. Can't stress enough how the burgers are a must try... easily in my top 10 favorites. Very possibly my favorite in Indiana. Beer... well as you can tell I've had a few. The beer is fine but all of their stuff has a similar finish. Like it all started as the same beer and then got tweaked a bit. It fine but as a beer guy I like a little more difference in flavor profile. Food is great, beer is fine.
Bryce was an amazing Water waiter! This was our first visit and he took the time to explain specials, beer options, a little history and recommended a phenomenal dessert! Excellent spot! A+! We will definitely return!
Stopped in for dinner at the Taxman on a Monday evening. The service was great and took us straight to our table in their outdoor area. Shortly after we were seated a storm moved in and the staff was wonderful at letting us move inside and grab a seat wherever one was available. We decided to sit at the bar and had the pleasure of having both the bartender and our original waitress keep tabs on us. We started with drinks and the Fried Green Tomatoes with whipped cheddar cream cheese and cajun remoulade. I highly recommend the tomatoes. They were large, the breading was wonderful and the cheese was great. The wife and I decided to share the Bargersville Smash and the Peach & Burrata salad. The burger was as good as expected and would recommend. I enjoyed the salad, but my wife did not. The salad uses basil as its base and it is not for everyone. I enjoyed the flavor of the basil and fresh mint with the peaches and would recommend it for a nice "summer" salad. This is our second time visiting and will defiantly not be our last. Check them out in the big town of Bargersville!
A birthday celebration for six “young” senior citizens brought siblings together from three different south central Indiana cities to TAXMAN BREWERY in Bargersville. Our birthday is a beer lover and enjoys good beer so of course Taxman was choice venue. First, the highlight of the entire evening was the amazing service we received from BRYCE. This young man is certainly an asset and great ambassador for the Taxman Brewery. His pride in the quality of food prepared and beer and cocktails created was evident in his explanations of the menu. Our party of six enjoyed flights of beer, cocktails and wine. All of us were very well pleased with the recommendations made by Bryce. For me, the Taxman special recipe of an Old Fashion called the Auditor was enjoyed as one of the best I’ve had. In fact, I had to have two. Although the sandwiches are all great, Bryce’s description of the salmon, sea bass and mussel entrees tempted all three to be ordered. The appetizer of beer cheese and pretzel was a hit. In fact the birthday boy claimed they were better than what he had had in Germany. Bryce, this group of rowdy seniors owe you a big thank you for making our celebration so very special. Taxman should certainly be proud of you. You’re the greatest!
This place is fantastic. They have a very large selection of unique craft beers to choose from. The food here is absolutely incredible. This was our first time to this establishment and we were extremely impressed. They make the best cheeseburger I have ever eaten in a restaurant. We will most certainly be coming back.
Our waiter Zach was the best! He was a great help with food selection and the new menu. Our food was great and the beer was amazing too! Atmosphere is always great too. Love this place.
First time here ( we've bought their beer from local grocery stores) and it did not disappoint. We split a flight and got pancakes with eggs & bacon. The pancakes are massive and very very fluffy! Our server was friendly and very helpful. We'll definitely be back! Can't wait to try the dinner menu!
It was a drive from where I was staying but well worth it. Excellent small town location, very nice patio and long L-shaped bar. very friendly and informative staff (Angie). Generous with the tasters and the brews were excellent. Food was delicious too, in have Garlic Mussels with Frites. Local patrons/regulars were friendly and fun. I will be back!
Great food and great service, plus a unique building and really nice atmosphere. The nachos were really good... the chips were fresh and the beer cheese and house made salsa were both tasty. The barbacoa mac & cheese was comforting and spicy. My wife loved the beer. I also commend them for having simple syrup available to sweeten the iced tea - what a nice touch!
Absolutely amazing place. Phenomenal food. The drink I got was really good aswell. I would suggest the BBQ pork sandwhich with the koleslaw. I personally don't like koleslaw but the addition to the sandwhich gave it just a subtle crunch and flavor enhancement. Really smart idea.
Stopped in for a quick libation on this sunny Saturday at our favorite neighborhood brewery. Served by our most favorite bartender, we enjoyed a nice barrel aged manhattan and conversation. We’re so lucky to have such an amazing place for our community.
We actually ordered food to go but it was delicious. I ordered the Crispy Salmon which came with sweet potatoes and spinach and it was divine. The fish was moist but crispy on the outside which is just how I like it. Everything was super flavorful and just the right portion. Definitely recommend.
I enjoyed a fabulous meal for my birthday at Taxman Bargersville tonight. The cocktails were wonderful (Italian Marg & The Auditor) and the steak-frites was worth every penny. I splurged on the filet & it was fantastic! We brought our three little boys as well & the kids’ meals were also delicious. So glad we live close to this amazing restaurant!
Great place in downtown Bargersville. The food is as a great as the beer selection. The atmosphere is not what you would expect from a brewery but it’s pretty cool. Plus they have a great outdoor area. If you are in this area, do yourself a favor and stop in. Good food, good brews, excellent staff.
An absolutely, fantastic venue for a meeting, dinner, camaraderie, and beer. Tried all the beer we could prior to end of meeting. Loved the Hop Collector, Deduction, Gold Standard, Triple Hopped Exemption, and Wit-Held. Great beers. Went home with a growler of Wit-Held and two (2) 12 oz. Snifters. Gotta stop to enjoy the atmosphere.
Excellent, all around... Food was cooked perfectly and Lily was a super kind waitress who was really attentive. Will definitely return for more!
Great place to catch up with old CG friends! Hung with 4th generation CG kid Tom Deer!!! The Sunday train still rolls through town. Love Bargersville. It's changed a lot since I was a kid.
The beer is some of the best around. Two dozen beers on draft, and a little of everything. Should be able to find a beer to please any drinker. Menu has some interesting combinations and everything is fresh.
What an absolute HIDDEN GEM. My first time to Indiana and my buddy told me to meet him here, and it absolutely swept me off my feet. The service from Kada was Incredible. The food was outstanding. And the beer was nothing short of delicious. Wish this place was back home in Georgia!
Bargersville Burger and Fries was had by two of us, both were great. Brisket Melt was enjoyed by another. Golden Parachute was good.
Sunday brunch Dec 28, 2025, patient, helpful, knowledgeable server (L.C.), Deduction- Bloody Mary (sorry no photo taken) looked great with a strip of cooked bacon AND was great. Brisket Poutine (for dummies like me, poutine means: dish of french fries topped with cheese curds and gravy, no gravy no this one) as the main dish with 2 perfectly cooked eggs on top. Again looks and tast was right on! A little drive from Crawfordsville but I recommend and will return. Lots of drink options BTW
We love everything about this place. Our server was top notch! I wish I could remember his name! I'll include some photos of our delicious meals. See you again soon!
Food was awesome, service was fantastic and the atmosphere was great. Wasn't a big fan of spending 100 bucks for 3 people for a small brunch with only waters but I will be back.
We loved it here! I order my burgers with only cheese so it’s hard to find a burger with very much flavor but this one was great! The pretzel & beer cheese was awesome too! And our waitress was so nice!
Driving through town from northern Indiana. Tasty Turkey club panini. Housemade chips were amazing, even pickles were unique. Very thoughtful design of an older building. Check it out.
Pretty good overall - We enjoyed the visit. The side caesar salad for an add on price of $6 was a bit much but quality of the food was top notch and seemed chef prepared. That was surprising as most of the food here is bar food - but it's "high class" bar food. This is a good place and if you're nearby it's worth a stop, but not so much worth a long drive. I will recommend it- but it doesn't meet my criteria for my "hit list" of best stop recommendations.
When me and my family go we sit outside when it's warm and that makes the atmosphere so nice. Then the food is great I get the burgers most of the time and last time I tried this waffle icecream thing it was good if you are about to go to dinner here I would so much recommend it.
Had a great New Years Eve meal out with my wife. I had the special that was the Wagyu short ribs (aka Kobe beef short ribs). The were fantastic and I was able to cut then with a butter knife. The special also included mash potatoes and some perfectly prepared Brussels sprouts. You can't go wrong with any of the beers. My wife enjoyed the love conquers all and I had the build a beer. Fun atmosphere always great staff! Want to try the brunch next!
Great atmosphere. The rhubarb wine was delicious. The smashed burger was good, not great, but good. Would we come back, yes .
Fairly good food for lunch in the Midwest. I got the loaded fries which was fine. Went there again for dinner in December 2022. Got the Salmon. It was okay, but kind of small. Had to get some more fries.
Not bad, waitress forgot about us, but the food and beers were good. Burger was a tad dry, but flavored nicely. See the pictures!!
Went two days in a row due to a soccer tourney and we love Taxman beer Overall, I would go back if I was in the area. It’s 45 min away from me and would not take a trip just to drink/eat there That being said, the overall experience for the two meals was good. I agree with another post that they need a real Mayo and not an aioli. My fries would have been sooo much better with real Mayo. The chicken sandwich was great both days...thick and juicy. Really wanted to try the nachos on Sunday but they switch to a split brunch menu and the normal appetizers get removed for the day :( Our waitress on Sunday was great. The bartender who took care of us Saturday was just okay. Didn’t great us for at least 10 min after sitting down and just wasn’t super personable. Atmosphere is wonderful and restaurant was clean. Many options of types of beers
We went to try the Devour INDY menu, after looking through our options and pricing, we decided to choose other options on the menu. Had some really great tasting Brussels sprouts. And a great server, that’s the good! The bad is we made a reservation for 530 and after checking in 5 min early we weren’t seated until 545 and there were plenty of seats and not really busy, later learned that we had to wait for them to find the devour Indy menus. The tenderloin sandwich was thick with no flavor at all. The waffle on our chicken and waffle was prepped way to thick and was so dry, really wanted to drink a glass of water to get it down. Even after getting extra syrup. The chicken strips were big and juicy.
We had mixed experiences here. The first couple times - in the evening - were great. Unfortunately since then we had bad experiences in the daytime with orders being wrong, getting overcharged and staff being unfriendly. Prices are a bit higher than other places, but the food is amazing! Side portions could be a bit bigger. Their beer selection is great too!
First time here. Beer flight was really good. Pretzel, beer cheese, and mustard were just okay. I hate deep-fried pretzels. Chicken wrap was okay. Breaded tenderloin was okay but overcooked, especially the bun. Served slice of tomato with the core in it. Fries are okay. I love the fact that we could bring our dog on the patio and that 95% of the food is homemade. Having a menu where everything is homemade is quite an accomplishment. There is a lot of room for improvement, especially how well things are prepared and cooked. The quality of ingredients is not a problem. For two people, our check was $74, including 22% tip.
The gold standard was good. The pulled pork sandwich had good flavor, but there was some sort of material in with the meat that was not meat and the bottom slice of bread was completely soaked through upon delivery to my table (you can see the grease on my hand after using the necessary napkin). I upgraded for the side of mac & cheese from the regular fries, it had decent flavor. However, the noodles were not cooked, so I’m not sure how good the experience is normally. The waitress told me that it’s not uncommon for the noodles not to be cooked all the way.
The food at Taxman Brewing Company was excellent, especially the Crispy Brussels sprouts – a must-try! My wife and I were the first to arrive before the Stevie Nicks concert. Our server, a red-haired female bartender, never introduced herself and seemed uninterested in being there. Her service was disappointing and somewhat brusque. I had to ask another server for a refill and remind her about my flight order, which she forgot about as she didn't return. Ultimately, I checked out with a different server.
The food was not the best. Soup was barely warm and the Syrup the use on the chicken and waffles was not good at all, and you can taste the grease on the chicken. I’m thinking they haven’t changed their oil. Presentation was nice. The beer was on point.
I have been here twice now and have been disappointed both times. I thought the first time was a one off time as they were busy so the service was slow and the food (steak and salmon) were both not cooked right. I didn’t want to write them off yet as I had heard good things so we went back. Their hosted was very stoic and seemed annoyed at us coming in. The place was not super busy but we waited over 10 minutes for our waitress to acknowledge us and bring us water and drinks. Next, it took us over 15 mins to get the chance to order our starters. I went to order my food all at one time and she just turned and walked away before I could order my main meal. After waiting for a long time our food came out. My pork chop was very rough to chew and the potatoes were disgusting. Green beans were bland. The chicken and waffles was bizarre. I am unsure if it was spinach or some other greenery on the waffle but it was just not good. The chicken was not cooked right and the waffle was soggy. We told the waitress we weren’t going to continue eating and we just wanted the bill to leave and she did not seem very upset or apologetic. She took $10 off the bill but that didn’t make up for any of the dissatisfaction and remaining hunger, will not ever return.
Food was cold and the Frisco burger the meat was burnt. The soup was cold. The server was no where to be found. After food was delivered no check for drinks refills. Would not recommend. Won't be back.
I ordered the French dip sandwich for take out and I can’t believe they served this. In the nicest way possible I recommend removing this from the menu completely. I usually don’t write bad reviews but I was extremely disappointed in the flavor and quality.
