Awesome night had by all...being on the water in the summer is a must if you live on long island and this place has that covered!! Besides a great water front location, the food was great too..i had a couple of glasses of rose wine which was a great brand !! I also had a perfect ahi tuna, my husband had the bacon cheeseburger..the fries were awesome!! And the bavarian pretzel for appwtizer was yummy!! And to top it all off there was a great band playing "running loose" which set the perfect mood, kids and adults were dancing and singing along!! Definitely a must go!!!
I love eating at the beach. Call it dine in but we were on the deck toward the beach. Band was playing Sunday afternoon . Good Pub food. Good drinks. Delightful.
Great afternoon with old friends. The service and view were amazing!! Several oysters on the half shell. The conch fritters were spicy delicious. I got the ahi tuna burger grilled to perfection!!
This place is spectacular. I was looking for a casual waterfront restaurant for my birthday, stumbled across Bayside, and decided to give it a try. The food was 10x better than I had anticipated and very reasonably priced. We ordered the oysters, conch fritters, BBQ bacon scallops, bass, fish & chips, and the soft shell crab BLT. Despite the cafe appearance, the plastic plates, cups & service-ware, the food was 4 star restaurant quality. A+ spot for great casual food, with a fantastic view and live music.
Always loved the atmosphere of Bayside Clam! The best margaritas! Had dinner there tonight and was pleasantly surprised that the food has made a marked improvement. I had the fish tacos. The portion was plenty! They were delicious! The raw bar was great as well. It has definitely been upgraded! Can't wait to go back!
Great food, service and outdoor seating area! And live music!
Came here for quick lunch for my friends bday, food was really good and fresh. The server was attentive and very nice, she made me and my friend feel welcome. That is not always the case in certain neighborhoods on Long Island and I come from a family that has generations here. Would come back here again definitely!
We were out with some friends having dinner nice little restaurant down by the bay. Ambiance is beautiful! There really is alot to choose from on the menu.prices are reasonable portions descent.we were four people we had two drinks each what I thought was going to ruin a good night turned out great.two of the ladies ordered white claw seltzer with a shot of vodka.the second drink must have forgot the shot of vodka, because we added the vodka to the white claw made it a bit pricey for a drink at $14.00. However when we realized the drink didn't taste like the first one at the bar we informed the waitress who inturn brought the manger Anthony was the owners name he was very helpful very eager to make things right.Anthony tossed what was left of the two white claw drinks replaced them to us himself, and the men didn't have any issues with their drinks and Anthony asked them what their choice of drink was as he wanted to get them a drink to make us happy!! I was so impressed with the way Anthony handled the situation I felt the need to explain my review. Make a long story short lovely place with very casual dress food is excellent prices are reasonable friendly staff and Anthony an owner who truly cares about his restaurant and wants his patrons to have a lovely experience while dining at his restaurant.its nice to see that people take pride . I really think you should give this a try you'll love looking at the water beautiful!! All the food was delicious the buffalo calamari was very good however it was very hot. Tuna was very very fresh. I definitely think it's worth a try won't disappoint and say hi to Anthony a local business owner who truly cares that YOU!! Enjoy your dining experience!!
Excellent atmosphere! Oysters and Lobster Salad Rolls were on point. Curly Fries were a nice treat. Good drink selection. Beautiful view. Would definitely recommend.
Good food, good drinks and friendly service. You can’t beat the views either!
We were camping across the inlet at Heckscher State Park and looking for a waterside restaurant for dinner. What an awesome choice to come here! Live music, friendly staff and delicious food! Oh, and a nice view of the marina and the bay. 👍
My friend's band played last night, and we had dinner , and drinks. The dinner was amazing!! I had the seared tuna with wasabi potatoes. Cooked perfectly!! The waitress was excellent. She was on top of things. We enjoyed this place alot!
Great food, drinks menu and service. The location and view is spectacular and relaxing. Live music by solo guitarist Tom Maxwell was awesome and made lunch today lots of fun for everybody. Only recommendation I'd make is the menu could be a bit longer.
Went down to Bayside for Margarita Madness. Great views, little windy so we sat in tent. Great music from 2 young men. Margaritas were awesome, great place to sit and relax and catch up with friends.
Food was good, and for the atmosphere, pretty well priced. We enjoyed our meal and the people were nice.
Sitting on the water just a short bikeride from home having the PERFECT burger and a PERFECT G&T. Owners on hand both friendly and professional to all guests, creating an environment of sheer culinary joy and glorious summer atmosphere. No big deal for a seaside restaurant but somehow just.... PERFECT.
Checked this place out recently on a Thursday night (decided to avoid the weekend crowds which was a good choice). Waited only 15 minutes for a table and while we waited, enjoyed the view of the marina. The waitresses were all running around and working hard to make sure everyone was served, as the place was fairly busy. The drinks and food were delicious! It was so nice to have a place with a view of the water where both my husband (a meat/seafood eater) and I (not) could enjoy a meal. He is a tough critic and gave he lobster roll a rave review. I’m very excited to go back again!
I'm thrilled to give Bayside Clam Bar and Grille a five-star review! From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the inviting atmosphere and friendly staff. The waterfront view added an extra touch of charm to the dining experience. The menu is a seafood lover's dream, with a wide variety of fresh catches and delectable options. For the main course, I opted for the lobster roll, and it exceeded all expectations. The succulent lobster meat was generously portioned and nestled in a perfectly toasted roll. The service was impeccable, with the servers being attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. The overall dining experience was delightful, and I can't wait to return to Bayside Clam Bar and Grille for another memorable meal by the waterfront. If you're in Islip, NY, this restaurant is a must-visit for exceptional seafood and a wonderful dining ambiance.
What a great spot. Nice staff, good service & food! Great atmosphere 👌 cool breeze off the water!
Great food. Stays busy so if large group get there early as wait is over an hour was well worth the wait
What an amazing place! Stopped in last night, just to check it out and had the absolute best time. EVERYTHING was extremely fresh, the service was 5 star, and every single person in there was friendly. We ended up having dinner and hanging out and had so much fun. We absolutely can’t wait to go back. Highly, highly recommend. Family friendly too. Love this place!
Excellent location and atmosphere. Food was great and it is on the higher end of the price scale. I had the Scallops Dinner with the Jambalaya Bites appetizer and both were wonderful. They also have some local craft beers on tap. Even if it is outside my per diem, I will be back to try more items on the menu. Highly recommend.
Went for dinner and drinks this evening. Drinks were strong and appealing. Dinner was fabulous. I am on a strict diet because I have diverticulitis and must be careful with what I eat. I had the lobster special and it was spectacular. I will be back. Staff was kind and attentive. Music an added treat. Had a relaxing evening after a hard working day.
I visited this place for the first time mid-day on a Friday accompanied by my wife and my 11 year old son and I have to tell you the service was excellent, the manager is very friendly, The waitresses were prompt and really nice, the food is tasty and delicious, The drinks are good but personally I'm not a big fan of plastic cup and cutlery, the view from the deck and grass area are magnificent. I definitely recommend this place and will be visiting again.
I went to this restaurant with a friend spur of the moment a Sunday afternoon the food was amazing the atmosphere was incredible and the service was top-notch I definitely hope to be going back there again
This is a legit WYKYK type place. Now I know. Good food, excellent people and an absolutely amazing location. Wild deer, beautiful seagrass and a spectacular view of the bay. Sit outside, take a deep breath of sweet bay air…and enjoy the mini-vacation.
This island continues to amaze me. You would never know this place was down this little street. Located at the marina again unseen from any major road. People fishing for and catching snapper off the docks. I found it on yelp and marked it as a place to try. Well, I just tried it. Holy sh#t. It's off season so there working with a limited menu. I got the pinapple teriyaki tuna. Cooked perfectly. Comes with crispy spinach, I spoke to the chef, it's just deep fried after being steamed but it gives it a salty, sea weedy taste that compliments the tuna perfectly. Then throw in the wasaby mashed potatoes and the dish is off the hook, excuse the pun. Lots of specials during the season that I missed this year. Won't make the same mistake next year. There season ends labor day but they stay open untill November with this limited menu. Still plenty to choose from.
GREAT place for bands! Super good atmosphere (right on the water) great variety of food, prices very reasonable.
Really cool spot on the water with live bands, cornhole etc. Great place to hang out and bring the family and friends. Service is good I just gave 4 stars because you may have to be patient waiting a bit but like I said you’re entertained during the wait atleast
Last night we went to a wonderful restaurant/Bar and music on the shore of south Sayville. The band played 70/80 music with two great singers. All was performed at the crowded outside open air Bar. There were about 200/250 people all eating and drinking while a great band played all night long! Dancing on the lawn and even pets are allowed... what a great place to enjoy with family and friends! They even have games for children to play at as their parent danced the night away.
Love the food!! Thai chili cauliflower was amazing and conch fritters were delicious! My husband loved the jambalaya.
Set way out On the South shore in Islip is this wonderful little clam bar. It's bigger than I expected Well on the outside. And it's all outside I mean all of it There's only a few seats inside but boy it's quaint in there as well. It's super quaint outside. It's the place to go I would say if you want to sit outside and enjoy the atmosphere of the South shore the breezes the marina in front of it the deer that are on the outside and the outskirts that's sort of greet you because people feed them. Which they shouldn't but you know hey whatever who might of judge Which eyewitnessed someone stopping to feed them. And I was wondering when I rode up on my motorcycle.. why are they just two feet away from me and looking at me? Oh someone must have feed them is what I was thinking immediately. Yeah I'm lo and behold I'm right.. Anyway let's get back to the review So I walk in and it's busy so I just go to the bar and the hostess is wonderful and I can order from the bar so I just want a iced tea and clams on a half shell It's so busy the bartender doesn't really notice me until 3 other people walk up and order before me but I'm tucked in the corner. I'm okay with it because I'm observing This is a review right. She's really engaging even though it's so busy she asks every person what their name is like she's meeting you for the first time which she is. They say hi I'm Joe she says hi I'm Tracy after she asked what's your name is. It's just a really nice personal thing even amongst the busyness Then the next people come up she does the same thing Then she comes over to me finally and says oh my goodness I didn't see you there That's okay I'm just kind of chilling over here in the corner. I'm Tracy Hi I'm Paul Hi Paul.. Just nice I order my clams in there taking quite a bit of time considering they're on they have shell but it's busy you know there's a band outside actually the one I came to see The clams are a bonus. She apologizes for the wait. And says good things come to those who wait. Well I couldn't agree more Tracy We briefly interact and I say hey I'm just here really to see the band Cool I'm the one who books them well good because they're great.. It's '80s '90s l i r - d r e 92.7. from back in the day New Wave. Kind of cool I'm there just for that. So I get my clams to go outside and it's just so beautiful. The band is playing the sun is setting and the view from there is spectacular. Beyond highly recommended to come here. Especially if there's a band playing. They have all these Adirondack chairs that are set up right in front of the stage that or just for you to sit in You don't need to be seated just go. I order my clams and got close to them but decide to stay a little further back. Just to take it all in People show up in the left side of the parking lot with chairs and just like set them out to listen to the bands. Totally awesome didn't even know this existed. So grateful to find it Sunset with spectacular I will 100% be back again Hidden little gem Oh PS Observation of the They hustle they are hustling hustling hustling they are moving moving. I mean sitting at the bar gave me time to watch the hustle and there's a revolving door for the kitchen and nothing didn't even sit still for a second. I was in the industry when I was younger and this is a hustling crew I'll tell you they just did not stop moving communicating etc. If your food is not coming out on time it's just because it's busy.
A Great little local spot. Its a great place for a quick bite or even drinks on the dock. We love coming here. They usually have live music and the food is usually pretty good. Its our go to spot to enjoy a meal while watching the sunset.
When you think of summer in Long Island, this is an ideal location. Water view. Seafood. And of course cold drinks. A little off the beaten path but definitely a great location to go to. Outdoor seating with live music playing. A great restaurant to go to and hang out for a couple of hours. I've been there a few times and each time I've tried something new. There hasn't been a meal there that I wouldn't reorder it again. I recommend the buffalo calamari.
Friendly is the one word that describes this place. You feel welcomed and that's not always the case these days, not here though, the staff goes out of its way to see you are being taking care of. This is a casual local place specializing in seafood and the menus give you many options. I just wish there were more non-fried choices. Still though the relaxed atmosphere, closeness to water, live bands, and most of all Friendly staff will keep bringing us back for sure! Check out the clams on the half shell, fried calamari, and Hawaiian Scallops (coconut crusted) entree, all excellent! And so much more to try...Oh the Blue Point blueberry beer was very refreshing, as is their own "Bayside" draft too!
We had a great time sitting outside, listening to live music, enjoying great food and drinks. I had the blackened mahi, which was delicious. It is laid back, with a great vibe and people dancing to the music, hanging out on the lawn. Great time was had by all! Check it out and have a blast!
Fantastic location. Beautiful views. Great service. Friendly staff. Live music on the weekends. We love coming here. I just wish that the food was a little better. Mediocre food keeps this place from becoming one of the top spots in the county. Acceptable should not be the standard and is not good enough. A-
Watch out for the bees. Very annoying!! But they’re close for the season anyway.
Delicious Lobster Roll! The order includes two sandwiches and amazing curly fries. Tasty sweet potato fries. Great view of the marina and excellent service.
Ate here with 3 friends. We all enjoyed our food choices-from tacos to seafood sandwiches. Service was great & friendly. Loved sitting outside near the bay enjoying a lovely summer afternoon. Reasonably priced.
The staff was friendly and attentive. Live music is always a plus for me. Great crowd of people when we were there.
I got the Tuscan chicken and it was amazing. Great ingredients and juicy tender chicken. The band was playing some great music and they sounded really good. The only thing that put me off about this place was the water. The cup looked a little brown after the ice melted. This might be one of those places that doesn't regularly clean their ice maker.
I took my dad here for lunch on Father’s Day. The atmosphere was very nice outdoors with the band. The drinks are pretty good. Could be a little stronger and the food is also very good. The only thing that I was disappointed in was the cod sandwich. I could have bought the cod from Costco myself and made the same sandwich. It’s not the real battered cod you get from Red Lobster.
I really love this spot. Along with amazing views and excellent margaritas, the oysters and clams are the freshest in town. Although it is a seasonal locale, you absolutely have to check it out. Live music, ice cold drinks and an amazing location will keep you coming back all summer long. Bring a date and they will definitely be impressed. Take it from me, if you haven't already tried it then you have to make it a must.
It was nice to be down by the water, but mother nature will have her way. It was quite blustery down there so half drunk beers in plastic cups could be deposited in your lap at any moment and our soft pretzel on the hook was actually blown off the hook. Just saying dining and drinking waterside can be an adventure, but one worth taking
Very nice outdoor to grab a bite & see live music, I wish the John Byrnes Band trio would play there… This is right up their alley
Really a nice venue with great service. The food & drinks were thoroughly fine. I think it would have been more enjoyable with better prices, but everything was significantly overpriced. Definitely a nice place to spend an afternoon or hang out when you get off a boat.
Come down to this establishment and have a good time. Many different bands play out by the water. So you can enjoy music from local musicians. It is a good burger restaurant that has a perfect location alongside a nice marina. Ample parking is available. On a nice afternoon/evening, come down, visit, and enjoy. 🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
My husband wanted me to give this place a 4.97 rating “because it’s awesome” :) We arrived just after 5.30pm on a Thursday afternoon — out-of-staters looking for a quiet meal by the water. Google Maps brought up this place and here we are! It was a tad noisy when we first walked inside the bar to announce our arrival (lol), so we chose to sit outside — we loved the tables and the view, though it was a tad chilly for the second day of summer, with grey clouds and a slight breeze. Sadly, there was no live music because of the weather — and you could tell from chatting with staff that they were frustrated by this. Service was quick and very friendly, and our food was served piping hot and very fresh! I was a tad nervous about reviews that mentioned a lack of proper silverware and plates, but we had both and it was great! My husband went for a burger (our server’s recommendation) and he said it was “awesome”. My veggie burger was officially the best burger I may have ever had! The onion rings were also incredibly fresh and super yum! Despite the lack of live music, we enjoyed the choice of music over the speakers and I can imagine this place is full of atmosphere during the warmer summer months. Extensive menu with lots to choose from — would definitely return!
It was the perfect weather for yummy food, frozen cocktails, live music on the water. Our server was helpful, sweet and swamped with customers. The food was good and not expensive. The cocktails could add quickly ($13-15). It's not fair to give them a poor rating for slow service because they were very busy. We had a great evening.
Great outdoor seating, great view of the bay. Service and food were ok, but you go for the setting more than the food. Live music when we were there. A little loud but then I'm just getting too old for that. Have a drink, sit back and enjoy!
Went for lunch on a weekday and was pleasantly suprised with a great menu, fresh oysters, and good drinks....had this been my only visit, this would be a 5 star review. Came back a week later for dinner... This place struggled BAD with a busy dinner crowd on a weeknight. The oysters were obviously preshucked and stored...gross. Food was all around a D+ this time around, however the live music and atmosohere was good. 5 stars for lunch. 2 stars for dinner.
If Im going to pay top dollar, I expect service in kind. I placed an order for two of us and told the bartender we were sharing. She said "plates are on the table". No further explanation , and the abrupt way she said it I dared not to ask for elaboration. She then bought us our food with no utensils, napkins etc. I went again to the bar and told her there were none, she said "thier on the table i put them out this morning you need to look". I had to go back to the table and again back to her to indicate despite her assertion, there wer no napkins or utensils. Finally she bought them out. It was at that point, paying 20.00 for 4 baked clams and 20+ for 1 piece of Ahi Tuna that we decided we were not going to tip her. More so for the abrupt attitude then any other reason. The bill came to 57.00 I gave her 60 and just left. She followed me to the parking lot exclaiming I forgot my change. I turned around and said no thats yours. She then gave me the 3.00 change and said I needed it more than she did, so I agreed and took it. My friend and I have gone many times over the years, but as long as the older blonde bartender is employed we will never go back. Too many good Clam bars on LI to put up with some miserable bartender that hates her clientelle and the work she does. And quite honestly the food is mediocre at best.
Mid at best. Long wait for food. Food is good. Scenery and ambience justifies the mid experience for good money. Will go again
Always loved this place but if youre going to set up tables for 30 and chairs on the lawn, for the love of God send somebody out to clean up the mountains of goose crap. Trying to eat surrounded piles of this stuff at your feet, having a dozen little kids running around the grass playing in it, it's got to be some kind of bio hazard. Take 2 guys with proper scoopers to run around and clean up a 1/2 hour. Youre a 5 star place except for this.
Everything was great , the only thing was that the drink were watered-down and for me that's a nono, I wouldn't care much for it, but when you pay over $30 for drinks.. Next time Ill just order beer. Otherwise the place has a great vibe.
The view is nice since you are by the water. The food was not the best. We ordered apps. Cheese nachos were cold and quesadillas were cold. Drinks are expensive ranges from 8 to 15. Not worth it.
I love this location, love coming down here....BUT was soooo disappointed with the service!! From being seated to having someone come and take our order after we went looking for someone to help us was over 20 minutes....at least. Our waitress was terrible. Provided no utensils, napkins or straws for our drinks....we had to go to another table to get a box that was restocked with what we needed to eat! We ordered more drinks....they never came....we even had to go hunt for a pen to sign our credit card receipt! In the past, food was good. It was a mixed bag this time. Mussels were very little for the price. My shrimp tacos were on cheap tortilla which fell apart when you picked it up and maybe 2 small shrimp that was cut in small pieces........not worth the price for what you got! Burgers were good...but the buns need to be toasted.....they totally took away from the burger and ahi tuna...onion rings were yummy and our friend raved about the rueben I normally don't post like this, but I truly love this spot and want them to succeed. Customer service, (maybe more staff that is properly trained?)needs improvement and some tweeks with some of the food and this place will be a great place!
First time there, June 25. Went primarily to hear a band we have followed for several years...they rocked. My party went early for a bite of dinner earlier. As we were attempting to put our name on the waiting list for a table, the "hostess", and I use the term loosely, was in the process of acknowledging our presence and telling us of the wait time ( no issue for us) and then answered 2 phone calls in our faces before actually granting us the pleasure of her attention to put our name on the list. Rude. Had a drink at the bar while waiting...bartender was awesome. We were seated in good time. Food was very good, but barely warm. Chris our waiter was totally amazing. All in all, a mixed experience. Will we go back? Maybe...depends on the music. Based on customer service alone, there are so many venues that do it better. This was not awful, but OK.
Summer 2024: is this the year your menu is better and not an afterthought? The food has been mediocre for a long time, but your food and drink prices go up. Your bar prices are very high compared to many other places nearby in East Islip, Oakdale, and Bay Shore. And hire better bands! The ones you hire are generally awful. Maybe it’s just a seasonal money grab for the owners, but I’m willing to return this weekend. If it’s the same as it’s been, I will spend my money somewhere else
The food was ok, nothing special, a little pricey. No waitress service to speak of. You order at the window pay and they bring it to your table. I gave it 3 stars for atmosphere because it's on the beach, which could have just as well given 2. Unless you look up and find yourself their I see no reason to be at the place.
**** This review is from 2yrs ago. I transferred it from another account I am shutting down *********** I do have to say that the hostess Faith and our server Ava were phenomenal. Sweet and professional. We were seated and served very quickly. The atmosphere is great BUT the food sucked. My husband had the fish n chips which he said tasted like frozen fillets from the Gortons Fisherman. I had the linguini with red clamsauce. That consisted of lots of minced clams (probably from a can) and TWO little necks in the shell. It was served in a bamboo style disposable bowl. The inside of the bowl was peeling in long strips but they were still attached to the bowl and resembled linguini. If it wasn't attached I would have eaten it. I pointed it out to the busboy and he said wow and took it away. It tasted good BUT I woke up at 3am with a really bad stomach ache. It kept me up for an hour.. I then proceeded to spend the morning sitting on the toilet. It's 1pm and I'm still feeling crappy and cramping. My husband said he was in and out of the bathroom from 3 to 4. I'm scared to eat there again. He had 1 drink and I had 2 can beers and we had mozzarella sticks. It came to $96. I left Ava a $20 tip because she was great but for $116 we both got really sick. Not worth the price
Been here twice. First time I ordered a surf/turf burrito, it was very good. Second time ordered fried shrimp. The shrimp looked like what you would buy in a supermarket, definitely not fresh restaurant quality and were not cheap. The atmosphere on the water is nice. Gets very crowded on the weekends, experienced an hour wait for 2. Not sure I would return.
The food was, Meh!! The fish tacos were so so, there really wasn’t much flavor at all or any seasoning. Although the mango in it was tasty. The Reuben was mostly bread, the meat was overcooked, and the sweet potato fries were cold. I don’t normally leave negative reviews, but I rely on reviews to find good places to eat. We sat at a high top table and you have to order your food from the bar. The bartender was not friendly at all, quite impatient and a bit rude. This was our first and last time here. Enjoy.
Overpriced for what you get. Came at 7:15 pm on a Sunday night and I had to wait over 30 mins to sit down. The place was chill and it looked pretty nice but everything just took forever. When I sat down the server gave me the usual few mins then took my order but then here’s where things started to flip for this place big time. For starters, $48 for a lobster roll!? You have to be kidding me for a place like this, you’re not even in manhattan. Appetizer came out at a normal speed but calamari was a little rubbery. The dinner though took a VERY long time. I sat there for 45 mins waiting on a burger and a lobster roll, absolutely ridiculous when they were just cooling down on the busyness. I wouldn’t mind IF it was actually good but the burger was very unappetizing and the lobster roll was definitely not worth $48 or the wait. They did attempt at live music, and they are on the water so it is a nice atmosphere only problem there is it is very busy and can get a little loud. I did notice a bar while waiting so I don’t know how the drinks and stuff are but I will never come here for the food ever again, for the prices I paid here I could go a few miles east to a place called manninos and get a whole veal chop full course meal WITH dessert and drinks for only 30$ more then I spent in this place. What a shame.
Visited 5/22 with my husband and friends. Kate quickly took our entire order drinks, appetizer and entree. Drinks and appetizers came out quickly. We watched 5-6 parties come and go all while still waiting for our food. Waitress kept saying it was coming. After 45 minutes she said someone else took our meal. No manager ever checked on us. My husband finally went to the manager and she said they were backed up. She was rude and never attempted to make things right. They weren’t backed or the tables that arrived after us ate and left before we got our food. So much for patronizing our local business
What a terrible experience we had here. Not only are the drinks so overpriced but the service is horrible. No server ever came to us and then the owner made us feel had made us feel bad for bringing food off our boat yet the table next door had dominoes and taco bell. After we were finished the staff took all of our food and threw it inside of our bag. We addressed it with the owner and he denied it and did not care. He came out with 20 of his friends screaming homophobic names and threatening us. He does not know how to run a business. If a customer has an issue, why not just own up to it and apologize? Instead you let your friends threaten customers? The names that we were called by the owners “security” is actually sickening. So sad that this place is owned by such a terrible individual.
The atmosphere was great people were having a great time, good music and Chef Ramsey would have would have thrown everyone out of the kitchen. Food was horrible, crab cake had a funky taste and what they call risotto was a molded cup of rice. The beer is very warm.
Looking for a relaxing Friday after work dinner and drinks with great views and great service? Then turn the car around and keep going! This isn't the place. Located at the end of Bayview it looked promising . We got out of the car and it wasn't clear where the hostess area was. We found it and although about 30% of the tables that were crammed onto their property were visibly open, we were still told a 45 minute wait. The hostess said there were a lot of people ahead of us ( 6 parties) and she has to individually call each party and then seat them. She was stressed and not very hospitable.Ok we thought, we'll hang out and have a drink and wait. She pointed to an outdoor bar with one bartender who was taking her sweet time. I was informed by the other parties also waiting that I was in for a long wait.... We noticed an empty table and sat while we waited empty handed discussing what we wanted to do. The waitress who finally came over was sweet and apologized for the confusion. We were permitted to keep our seats. We ordered apps and drinks while we decided on our dinner. About 15 minutes of ordering apps we flagged down our server and ordered dinner. After about 30 mins my son noticed that no food was coming out of the kitchen. Then a tray or 2....then nothing....then repeat the process. It took about 45 minutes to get our apps. But then....we continued to wait another hour for dinner. I had to find our server who was mortified about the kitchen melting down. She told us the kitchen gets overwhelmed and it shuts down for 15 minutes and this cycle repeats itself through out the night.....I walked to the register to pay for the apps because I couldn't wait any longer. I was informed nastily by another older server "well ma'am, everyone here is also waiting an hour and a half" as though I was entitled. I told them I wanted to pay for my drinks and apps. I did so and after 1 hour and 50 minutes my dinner came out of the kitchen. The waitress said that was ours. I was done with everything and the bill was already paid. The older unfriendly waitress instructed the person with our dinner to "take it back in!" The only apology I received was from the college age waitress who was also upset. No one else cared. Never going back.
Really weren't any options for vegetarians or vegans. Of course, that's on us given the name of the place. But the real reason for the poor review was the service. Waitress was nice enough, but everything took forever, I maybe saw the waitress twice, and never got my drink refilled. Even if I ate seafood, I would never go back to this place based on the service alone.
Never again! We love outdoor seafood restaurants, we happened to be in East Islip and wanted some delicious lunch. Our sever was nice, and our drinks were good, but that was about it. We ordered the oysters to start.....that was a bad choice...they must have shucked them that morning( we had lunch around 2pm) they were dry and sticking to the shell with a yellowing border, requested the calamari instead....it was a bit bland. We ordered the lobster roll and the crab cake sandwich, needless to say we were a bit cautious of our food. The lobster roll is definitely not worth the $28.99 as it barely filled the croissant. The fries were soggy. Over all it surprises me that a seafood restaurant will not prepare everything to order. Will not go back, that was the worst $100 lunch we've ever had.
Terrible service, it took about 30 minutes just to get our apps, the waitress disappeared for our drink order and lunch order. When we finally got the apps, the raw oysters had so much sand in them the were inedible. We opted to cancel our lunch order since we were hearing some rumblings from other tables about how there order was not correct and it was taking over an hour to get their food. It's a shame, a place with so much potential and a great location is allowing these things to happen.
Don’t waste your time. I understand that seasonal establishments such as Bayside can have service hiccups due in part to young staff and getting huge rushes if the weather is nice, however this place sets a new standard for poor service. We waited 15 minutes to be seated while the “hostess” ignored us, presumably because it was the end of her shift and she could not be bothered with us. When we finally were seated, we sat for 15-20 minutes attempting to make eye contact with a server or someone. Completely ignored. At this time I made my way over to the new hostess on duty, who was a very polite, professional middle aged woman. Her and I were having a very civil conversation, I explained that we felt like our table was forgotten and she began to assure me that we would have a server shortly. Suddenly, the man who I guess was supposed to be our server was behind me and yelled into my ear that we had only been waiting for 4 minutes and that he would get to us when he could. First of all, I was shocked that a server would speak to a customer like that. Second of all, the guy is lucky he didn’t get his teeth knocked out approaching someone like that. We promptly left the eatablishment, they will never get our business, and I really don’t feel bad if it is a local business or not, I will trash Bayside to every person I meet. Your service sucks and the owner should be ashamed to employ morons like the idiot we dealt with on Saturday. Place could be great if it didn’t dreg the bottom of the sewers for its employees.
I have been there twice in the last month. The management team needs to train the staff better. Service is very slow. Last night had a burger and returned it twice. Product came out raw twice. They use plastic utensils and plastic cups. Great atmosphere but I will never go back. Two strikes and I won’t be going back.
Great atmosphere and nice staff but the food was horrendous. They gave 5 tasteless warm Shrimp, warm oysters that didn’t taste fresh. Then for dinner we got a burger and the fish sandwich. The burger looked like wet dog food that was defrosted in the microwave and put on a stale burger bun. The fish sandwich had no taste and the bun it was on was hard and stale. Will never eat here again. The only plus to this place is the live music.
Recently went and the bartender was extremely rude to my fiancé . My fiancé isn’t a drinker and so requested a virgin Shelly temple. Apparently it was the wildest request of the day and she made it VERY clear she was not happy about making the drink and caused a bit of a scene behind the bar to the other workers. If it was that big of deal she could have just said no and we could have just kept it pushing. And then on top of that she charged $11 for the drink. Had high expectations and was super excited for this place but the disgusting attitude towards such a simple request was beyond mind boggling.
Myself and 2 others went here for the 1st time a couple weeks ago . Our first impression was not good . Everyone of the wait staff looked miserable. The hostess stand is right in the middle of the door where the food was being served out and as we waited for our turn to be seen we were clashing with the servers . Then the hostess tells us 25min which took well over one hour and then we decide to leave because it was going to be even longer . Mind you there was plenty of empty tables there . We also overheard another couple complaining that they were sat 15 minutes and nobody came over for anything. This was our 1st and last time going here .
The waitress with green hair complete ignored my husband and I. Apparently, her waitressing skills are non existing. Management should seriously consider terminating her employment. Bad for business to ignore customers. So, we were going to leave (wished we had) The "bartender"?? came to take our order. Obviously they rushed our order. Horrible food no flavor, raw shrimp, partially cooked fries ( how on earth can you mess up fries) Nasty!! Live and learn we will never patronize this establishment again. Honestly, please don't waste your time or money here. So many other on the water establishment to dine at with great service and delicious food.
Unfortunately we had the worst experience last night. I want to start by saying my wife and I are laid back people. We are not the type of people that leave a poor review if the smallest thing goes wrong. We arrived last night at 6:15. We waited about 35 minutes to be seated as they were busy. The nice hostess apologized as she seated us regarding the wait. 10 minutes later the waitress came over for our drinks. I had just got 2 drinks when we were seated so we just ordered our food A soup An appetizer 2 Entrees. Our waitress never came by our table ONCE in 40 minutes. I had to go to the bar myself to get additional drinks. After 40 minutes WE had to look for her and asked her “ can you at least find out about the soup”. She replied “ let me see what’s going on” She went into the kitchen and came out a minute later. Did she come over to our table and tell us what the issue was? Nope. She just walked right past our table with no comment. We waited another 2 minutes figuring on the way back she might stop but no- she kept on walking. That was it. We left. Waited a total of 50 minutes and she came to our table ONE time and we still did not received a single item we ordered or check on us for drinks. Worst service we have ever experienced.
This place is…different. The fries were good. The waiter did not give us our card back, so we called to see if it was left there. Upon calling, we were told they were too busy to check and we could come see if the card was still there. Upon arrival, there were NOT that many people there and it was not busy. It would have been nice if they could have verified that the card was in fact there just so we didn’t have to cancel it. No apology was offered, the drinks were horrible and overall customer service was bad. The bartender joked that she had purchased bras and panties with my card. Not funny in today’s society and theft. Would not recommend.
Very disappointing and disgusting experience here. Way too overpriced. The menu online is not the same as in the restaurant. When speaking to the manager Tracy she was very disrespectful and rude. I would recommend not coming here and saving your money and time somewhere better! This place sucks and the food wasn't even good.
