I’ve been to The Greyhound a good few times over the years - upstairs, downstairs, out on the decking in the sunshine - with parents, in-laws and friends. Every single visit has been exceptional - the team genuinely deserves a Michelin star. The food is consistently incredible - inventive, seasonal and full of personality. The wine list clearly written by someone who knows their stuff and there’s always someone on hand who can make spot-on recommendations. I’ve tried both the tasting menu with matched wines and the à la carte, and I honestly can’t fault a single dish or pairing. It’s a gem of a restaurant, and an easy trip from London with the quick train from Marylebone. If you haven’t been yet, go - it’s a fantastic spot that never disappoints.

Wow! We came here last night for my birthday celebrations. The staff are incredible. We were greeted by Paris who was friendly and welcoming. We were seated upstairs which was lovely, our servers were Alzira, who is so smiley and really fun, Zuzanna who is informative, has great sense of humour and kept the champagne coming! Lauren who is an absolute bundle of joy, she is passionate and her energy is amazing, and last but not least Margriet what a lovely lady, very informative and genuinely seemed interested in talking to us. Now to the food! We both had the tasting menus, I had the vegetarian and my husband had the normal one! We both came out very happy and full! The truffle was incredible, the pastry on the mushroom tart was so good. My husband loved the crab Everything was so tasty and well thought and put together. So well done to all the chefs in the kitchen who we did get to meet. We will definitely be back. This is the nicesmeal smd service we've had for a like time.

Gorgeous food tonight for a Birthday Dinner. All of the courses were stunningly cooked and the service was delightful as ever. Highly recommend the Greyhound for a delicious meal in a great setting.

Great restaurant experience with amazing food. I've now been 3 times and will certainly go back again. Had the tasting menu on the last visit and every dish was exceptional. Rohit, the head waiter is a great host and the whole team really know how to look after their guests. Very accomodating as some of members of our party wanted to make some changes to the tasting menu.

We had heard through the grapevine that The Greyhound was one of those restaurant to watch out for that could be on the cards to gain its Michelin stars and we were not disappointed. The tasting menu was treat after treat full of incredible food quality that drove elegance throughout each dish. There was something warm hearted about how each dish was served that fine dining tasting menus don’t always offer. More than that the front of house led by Andrew and his incredible waiters were beyond my expectations, no rush out of the door environment, enjoying working in such an iconic 17th century building and each dish presented and taken away with true hospitality and genuine love for the food and fed a culture it’s leadership leads by. We finished our night with a little treat to take home for breakfast treat - making the experience go beyond one evening! Thank you so much for making our celebration feel extra special!

We went to the Greyhound for my Wife's Birthday and booked online. Firstly, the welcome and attention to detail was probably the best I've experienced at any restaurant. We were greeted at the door, by our names, they wished my wife happy Birthday, and our table, which was of a great size in a great location, had a Birthday card signed by 18 people! Along with this, were personalised engraved napkin holders. A lovely touch! We went for the tasting menu which was 6 Courses with an optional additional course for a supplement which we shared. There was also several other complimentary courses that came with it. In total I think we had 11! The service was impeccable. Friendly, quick, attentive. Couldn't have done any better. The food was also great, which included dishes we wouldn't have normally ordered, but were all of a very high standard. I would highly recommend this place, especially if its a special occasion.

We had a lovely meal at The Greyhound, which was the Taster Menu, with wine. The service was excellent - Lauren is incredibly knowledgable. Our waitress (lovely Portuguese lady) had not been working there for long, but was very professional and friendly. The food is amazing - excellent quality and beautifully presented. Thoroughly recommend.

It was our first time at The Greyhound. We went there for a special occasion; our first anniversary. Everything was perfect; the food, service and ambience. We were sitting outside and kept receiving very pleasant surprises. As professional gardeners, we were delighted to hear that the establishment practices food-to-fork, growing vegetables in raised beds and using the produce to accompany various dishes. We enjoyed their little touches, including an anniversary card signed by all the team, and the little cupcake which accompanied our dessert and coffees. An extra thank you to our waitress Lauren who went the extra mile by giving us a tour of the establishment, and whose service was impeccable. We will definitely revisit. We are intrigued to try the upstairs area.

My husband and I went to the Greyhound for our anniversary meal and it was simply exceptional! This place deserves a Michelin star. We did the tasting menu which was absolutely delicious, so well presented and had extras of bread, amuse bouche in between and well worth it. We didn’t do the wine pairing but order a couple of glasses to match a couple of courses. The service here deserves a special mention. We had Rohit serving us and wow the attention to detail, the kind warm manner and attentiveness makes you feel truly special. When my husband spilt something on his shirt a few seconds later the waitress appeared with a wipe to clean his clothes. As a special touch we got given an anniversary card signed by all the staff and a little anniversary cake at the end which we took home. Overall a very special and excellent meal!

Had 3 course lunch and it was amazing. Nice touch with amuse bouche. The warm bread is lovely. Service is spot on. Would recommend 👌 Meals look small but once you have been through 3 courses and the snacks provided. It adds up nicely.

Wow, I was not expecting this level of culinary and service excellence when I was invited to lunch here. There is a reason this venue has the highest star rating I've seen. This is not a place to go just because you are hungry but every mouthful will be packed with flavour and finesse. Heading back there tomorrow with the wife, she wants to experience it herself. The wife loved it, we're fans! Hay smoked butter, yum. We visited again for a relatives birthday recently and everyone was exceedingly impressed. It's always such a pleasant adventure! 🙂 We love it here. We have never felt so welcome and comfortable. Dan and Margriet have a special talent for delivering so many unparalleled sensory experiences. Celery sorbet, who would have thought?!

I've eaten at many top restaurants and this place is right up there. Waiter was friendly and explained every dish with confidence. Meeting the owner Margriet and having a quick chat at the end was great. My wife said it was the best dessert she's ever had. For me, every dish was of a high standard. Compliments to the Chef and his team. This establishment is definitely going places.

We had the most beautiful lunch here in the outdoor marquee following our wedding. The staff were incredibly attentive and the food was absolutely outstanding. I cannot thank the staff enough for their professionalism and kindness. There were lots of additional courses added in which was such a lovely touch. We will definitely be going back here for our anniversary!

A beautiful cosy spot in lovely Beaconsfield, we were taken here on our anniversary by our lovely aunt who lives local. I’m a huge fan of fine dining and this place was wonderful! What a lovely dinner, the dishes were exquisite and the pace was perfect to really enjoy your time and experience with all the food and flavours! We did the tasting menu for the 4 of us - it was amazing! Every dish could not be faulted, it was hard to pick a favourite, although the lamb will hold a special place in my heart as I do enjoy a good piece of lamb, and the lovely soup dish!! The staff are so friendly, we were given a small tour of the lovely place after - stunning dining area upstairs perfect to hire out! The outdoor seating area is also fantastic! The owner also kept checking in on us which was just so nice and welcoming :) fantastic place - highly recommend! Thank you all for making our anniversary special, thank you Dan, Marquit, Luca, Emma, Tom, Don, James, Otte, Isabelle, Lauren and Hannah. Sorry if I missed anyone or spelt any names wrong!!

The Greyhound in Beaconsfield is a triumph. An establishment that defines the very finest of fine dining while remaining warm, assured, and deeply memorable. From the moment you step inside, it’s clear that this is no ordinary restaurant. Set within a magnificently restored property, The Greyhound balances historic character with contemporary elegance, creating a setting that feels both timeless and impeccably considered. Every room speaks to care, restraint, and an instinctive understanding of atmosphere. The menu is wonderfully thought through: precise without being pretentious, imaginative without losing sight of comfort and pleasure. Each dish feels purposeful, crafted with confidence and clarity, and presented with an understated finesse that lets the ingredients shine. This is cooking that respects its roots while quietly pushing boundaries whilst remaining refined, generous, and deeply satisfying. Our experience was elevated even further by the exceptional service we received from Paris, who looked after us throughout the meal. She struck a perfect balance between promptness and knowledge, attentive without ever being intrusive, and always ready with thoughtful insight. A special thank you as well for the perfectly prepared coffees, which were a fitting and faultless conclusion to the meal. What truly sets The Greyhound apart is the extraordinary dedication behind it. The hard work Daniel and Margriet have poured into every single detail is unmistakable. From the flow of the dining experience to the smallest touches that guests may not consciously notice, their commitment to excellence is felt throughout. Nothing is accidental; everything exists to ensure the very best experience for those fortunate enough to dine here. The Greyhound is more than a restaurant, it is a destination. A place where craft, hospitality, and vision come together seamlessly, leaving guests not only impressed, but genuinely grateful to have experienced something so thoughtfully and beautifully done.

We visited for our anniversary lunch and had the tasting menu. The food was a delight. The staff were attentive without being excessive. A lovely atmosphere. Acoustics were good with gentle background music that didn't interfere with conversation. We will definitely be going back.

Such a warm welcome to a refined gastro pub. The food was exceptional. Dishes were we well balanced and perfectly crafted. Stand out dishes were the crab and the venison. The complimentary extras were the stars of the show, that brioche was just delicious and the coconut palate cleanser was just a hint of my memories of summer. Thank you to all the staff for making my birthday so special. Xxx

We enjoyed a lovely anniversary meal yesterday and I can’t fault one bit of the experience we had. We were greeted with such warmth and shown to our table which had a lovely anniversary card which was signed from all the staff there. It was such a wonderful touch and really appreciated. The food was absolutely amazing and everything was so tasty and a culinary experience. We were given alot of special treats in between meals also which was a total surprise and can't thank you all enough. We weren't drinking (trying to be good) but they had such an array of wines which we will definitely try when we come back. We did have a few non alcohol cocktails which were very nice and tasted like we were drinking ;) Food is all reasonably priced and we felt satisfied with the portion sizes and definitely felt full up after. Would highly recommend the Jacobs Ladder which was so mouthwatering delicious. After our meal, our lovely waitress gave us a tour of the building and showed us all the wines and the kitchen and outside. It was such a wonderful dining experience and one of the best we've been too. Nothing was too much for them and the staff is such a credit to them. I'm looking forward to coming back and also letting all our friends and family know of this wonderful establishment.

Excellent tasting menu, beetroot dish and souffle were incredible, worth the drive out from town to visit. Friendly well trained staff, relaxed atmosphere, we weren't hustled from the table and were told to take our time, relax and enjoy. The only thing I'd hope had changed by our next visit (we'll surely come back, I just don't think that there's a better restaurant in the area west of London other than Raymond Blancs), is the odd choice of plastic plants and flowers, I know that gen z are fine with them but I think they're a bit of a mis-step

We had such a wonderful experience here. The staff were incredibly friendly and really knowledgeable about the products and menu, which made the whole meal feel even more special. The food was exceptional, with lots of thoughtful little additions throughout the meal that made it feel like a real treat. The rabbit was beautifully tender and full of flavour, and the seafood raviolo was to die for. To top it all off, at the end of the meal we were given a tour of the property, including the kitchen, which was such a lovely touch and a really great way to spend our day. Highly recommend!

We visited to celebrate my husband’s birthday and had a truly faultless experience. Thoughtful touches, including a birthday card on arrival and a small box of biscuits as we left, made us feel genuinely special. The food was stunning — beautifully presented and delicious — and the service was friendly, helpful and perfectly paced. An unforgettable experience and a restaurant surely destined for a Michelin star.

Fabulous five star dinner at The Greyhound. The restaurant sits in a 17th-century former coaching inn, full of charm and character. Wood beams, exposed brickwork and quirky touches, paired with rich decor, create a cosy yet elegant setting. The food was delicious. We chose the à la carte menu and every dish was beautifully presented and full of flavour. What truly sets The Greyhound apart is the people. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed like old friends. Service was thoughtful without ever feeling intrusive, with water glasses topped up and small details handled with care. Daniel, the owner, stopped by after our meal and his passion for both food and genuine hospitality was obvious. We left with full bellies and warm hearts, a night out we’ll remember. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a restaurant that combines artistry on the plate with real warmth of service.

Possibly the best dining experience I've had so far! Attended early June for my 30th birthday and to say the evening was perfect is an understatement. From the arrival, personally signed card by all staff members and birthday biscuits (amongst other extras) I couldn't have felt more special to have spent my evening at the Greyhound, a huge thank you to Al and all the other staff who made my partner and myself feel so welcomed, especially with a tour of the kitchen and grounds. (A small snapshot of food in pictures, not all courses)

An Unforgettable Dining Experience! My husband and I are avid foodies who have had the pleasure of dining at some incredible restaurants, but nothing comes close to the exceptional experience we had at The Greyhound. From the moment we walked through the door, the service was nothing short of outstanding. Every detail was thoughtfully considered, and as it was my birthday, we were welcomed with a handwritten birthday card from the staff—such a personal touch that made the evening even more special! The staff's attentiveness was truly remarkable. From the seamless flow of courses to ensuring our glasses were always topped up, every aspect of service was executed flawlessly. We were consistently amazed by the level of care and precision. The food itself was extraordinary. Each dish was a masterpiece, bursting with flavor and crafted to absolute perfection. We were also fortunate to be guided around by the owner, Daniel, whose passion for the restaurant was evident in every detail—from the sourcing of ingredients to the meticulous training of his staff. It’s clear that this restaurant is a labor of love! I can’t recommend The Greyhound enough. We’re lucky to be local to Beaconsfield, and we’ll certainly be back very soonb A huge thank you to the entire team for making my birthday celebration so memorable. Wishing you all a happy New Year!

You must come to the Greyhound! Magriet and Daniel are incredible and what they’ve done is truly special. Delicious flavours, fresh locally sourced produce from the nearby farms and area. They have cultivated a friendly, approachable and unstuffy atmosphere and their staff are clearly trained to a very high standard and love what the do. The lunch menu is such great value as well and there are lovely surprises with amuse bouches. A reservation is a must.

Absolutely amazing 🤩 They call it a pub but the food quality and presentation is fine dining level! The truffle is just incredible. The „butter“ is like nothing else you’ve ever tasted before! We will be coming back many times.

Travelled here from central London for Sunday lunch based on the good reviews on here and we weren’t disappointed; it was worth every mile of the journey! The service was absolutely impeccable; the staff were attentive and friendly to a level I’ve never experienced in any other restaurant (much less pub), without being contrived. The food was absolutely delicious and included an amuse bouche, palate cleanser after the main course and chocolates and pastilles after pudding. In addition to those, our starters, mains and puddings were all amazing. Also, the little touches like a small stool to put a handbag on didn’t go unnoticed and were so appreciated! Have already recommended to family and I’ll be back soon!

We had a lovely meal at The Greyhound on Friday. Food is high quality and each meal comes with all the extras you'd expect from a high end restaurant such as canapes, bread (amazing!), amouse bouche and pre dessert. All the dishes we tasted were well cooked. Even better than the food though was the service. We were the first table in and until the end of our meal we were looked after extremely well by everyone (including both owners who were interacting with tables throughout the evening). The food is fairly priced for this level of restaurant (which is clearly not cheap). They do have a really great value lunch menu if you don't want to splurge too much! We will definitely be revisiting and you should if you're in the area.

I’m not sure about posting this review because it will no doubt make it even more difficult to book a table! This is no ordinary meal at a pub. This is an exceptional experience with exquisite food of the highest quality. From the divine flavours, beautiful crockery, and warm attentive service to the extra delightful touches, this extraordinary lunch will never be forgotten. Indeed this was not really lunch; this was theatre. We left feeling like we’d visited a friend’s home and been utterly spoiled.

On our previous visits including a tasting menu , sunday lunch and last year’s outside dining experience we’ve enjoyed fabulous food and service. But after our lunch yesterday I can honestly say that the bar has been raised to the next level. The service is still as good as it gets but the food under the inspiration of head chef James and pastry chef Chris was definitely the best we’ve had so far at the Greyhound. So now on to saturday which started with our hour long drive from east to west arriving in the delightful town of Beaconsfield. It is here that you will find the Greyhound. When we entered we received a fabulous greeting from Tom , Hannah and other members of the team before being escorted upstairs to our table. While catching up with Tom it was nice of them to treat us to a welcome back complimentary glass of sparkling wine which was followed by a delicious savoury choux bun. While looking at the menu it was nice of owners Daniel & Margriet to come over for a nice chat and tell us about their exciting plans for the future which had already started with a bit of refurbishment upstairs and downstairs. Now on to the menu where there’s a choice of a lunch menu , a la carte or our decision the tasting menu. With this we chose a fabulous light and fruity Bulgarian Pinot Noir that complimented a majority of the dishes nicely. We started with bread and butter which was followed by a beetroot and pink peppercorn amuse bouche. We now move on to the first course of Burrata di Bufala with a walnut pesto and broccoli that was absolutely delicious. This was followed by a favourite of mine Veal Sweetbreads with jerusalem artichokes and capers that didn’t disappoint in the slightest. Next to arrive was the amazing Orkney Scallop with caviar , pickled chilli and cucumber. Next on the list was the optional supplemented Perigold Truffle Gnocchi with chive and parmesan. As my wife enjoyed this I just couldn’t resist a dish on the a la carte menu. This was an Octopus Terrine with confit potato , red cabbage purée and lemon that was easily one of the best octopus dishes I’ve ever had. We now moved to the main course of the menu a heavenly Harewood Estate Venison Loin with a fantastic cottage pie , smoked cherries and trompettes. This led us to the cheese course and a delight it was to. A Wensleydale cheese with cranberry and thyme which was a nice change from the norm. Now it was time for dessert but not before enjoying a delicious Pineapple and Pink Peppercorn drink. This led us to the dessert itself and a fabulous creation from pastry chef Chris. This was a 46% Valrhona Bahibe Chocolate with malt , passionfruit and caramel that was definitely the best dessert we’d had at the Greyhound. We then received a nice surprise when head chef James came up for a chat. This was great as we could personally thank him for the amazing food which we told him was the best we’d had at the Greyhound. He was delighted to hear this but you could see that himself and the team were ready to push on to the next stage of their progression. We finished with coffee and petit fours to bring to an end a fabulous dining experience. The food here has definitely been raised to a higher standard so yes I would highly recommend a visit. You will also be given the very best service led by Daniel , Margriet , Andrius , Hannah and Tom. We certainly can’t wait to make a return visit again soon. Thank You Daniel , Margriet and all the team for a fantastic lunch and look forward to seeing you all again soon

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing an exceptional Christmas lunch at The Greyhound Old Beaconsfield, and I couldn't be more impressed. From start to finish, the entire dining experience was nothing short of extraordinary. The front-of-house service was warm, welcoming, and professional, setting the stage for what turned out to be a memorable celebration. The ambiance of the restaurant added to the festive spirit, creating a perfect setting for our special occasion. Now, let's talk about the food—absolutely outstanding! Each course was a culinary masterpiece, surpassing any other dining experience in our local area. The flavours were exquisite, and the presentation was a true feast for the eyes. It's evident that the chefs at The Greyhound Old Beaconsfield take great pride in their craft, and it truly shows in every bite. The Greyhound Old Beaconsfield not only adds charm to our community but sets a standard of excellence that is truly commendable. We really enjoyed our meal here. It was a last minute decision, but we were totally blown away. The food was very ambitious, and often done well, but the staff to open to feedback when we felt there was room for improvement. We were looked after by the wonderful Natalie - we found out later that she has only been there for a few months, but her passion, knowledge and loyalty to the restaurant would have you thinking she'd been there for years. We were so well looked after and we loved the tour of the kitchen and the grounds. We will definitely be back to see how well the level of ambition had been maintained and hopefully also to be looked after by Natalie again. We can highly recommend a dinner here! We had the tasting menu and left feeling very full and very satisfied. The highlight was definitely the prune soufflé with Armagnac anglaise. Out of this world. Yum. Can't wait to come back!

This place is an absolute gem. The food and drinks are all delicious and fantastic, but more than that, the whole experience of just 'being there' is 5-star. The staff are brilliant, the owner makes a special effort to introduce himself and chat to diners, and all the little touches add up to a unique experience.

Great food, amazing service and a lovely atmosphere. I had an a la carte lunch, and am looking to go back for taste menu, even though the tasting menu just have all the a la carte entries and one choice of a main.

One of the easiest 5 stars I’ve ever given. I did the vegetarian tasting menu and loved it. I’m not even a vegetarian. Friendly staff, amazing food, recommend to all. Flavorful and great presentation as you can see. We didn’t do the wine pairing, just got a couple bottles.

We had an amazing experience here. It was my partners 40th birthday and he was made to feel very special. The staff were exceptional - nothing was a problem. I had the vegetarian tasting menu - sensational. My partner had the full tasting menu. Highly recommended! Well done to all the team!

Great food only surpassed by the excellent service. Cosy environment with spacious tables. The vegan options and the attention to detail on these options are better than a lot of the vegan tasting menus I have had before. Bravo👏.

Wow! This place is absolutely incredible! Gorgeous food, delicious wines, exemplary service - we couldn't fault a thing. The staff are so knowledgeable and every single team member smiled and said hello, which was delightful and rare to come across in most restaurants. The passion Dan and Marguerite have is clear to see and their attention to detail is next level. We can't wait to visit again!

It’s quite rare to see a place with 4.9 stars on Google, but in our view it should be 5.0 - absolutely fantastic evening, delicious food, and we’re also grateful to Paris for the very interesting tour - an amazing birthday treat! Big thanks to the whole team, and congratulations on the well-deserved success.

Absolutely first class. So many touches, bringing an exceptional experience and delicious. Its the second time we've been and it just gets better. Why this isn't a Michelin star is a mystery to me! Sat outside this time and although rainy evening it was cosy and comfortable. Can't wait to go back.

We visited this restaurant for the first time for our anniversary and chose the tasting menu with the non-alcoholic drinks pairing. We had such a lovely time, the food was exceptional and the staff were very attentive making the whole evening an absolute delight. We’ll definitely be visiting again.

Lovely service and atmosphere! Unfortunately I arrived 20 minutes before closing time at lunch and found the kitchen closed already, slightly odd. That said the manager was kind enough to offer nibbles that were very good. I'll have to come back for the full experience and hopefully the 5th star.

P

The food was exquisitely prepared and served. It was our second visit here. However, we were served bottled beer past it's best before date - but I didn't see this until we had finished drinking it. It tasted okay but it's not what I would expect from a high end restaurant. And I especially would not expect to pay full price for the drinks once the staff were made aware of the date issue. *I am aware that it was perfectly safe to drink. Disappointing customer service.

E
Experienced Reviewer

Visited on a busy evening and everything went well. The tasting menu was good and extra truffle course was lovely. Prices are high, maybe to be expected for this high end establishment. Portions are very small. One star lost for high price vs small portions. A further star lost for the service charge; let us decide on any tips! Also, for the high prices paid, this charge can be excessive (discretionary or not).
