Came through at the last minute for a party of 19 during lunch rush. Our server (Nehemias) was top notch! They got our table ready in less than 10 minutes. All food was correct. Chips and drinks stayed full. Great job!
Fantastic food here! Reminds me of Guadalajara back in its heyday. Good service, if a bit hurried--which is understandable given how popular the place is. The food is savory and full of flavor, the salsa is chock full of cilantro, onions, and seasonings and has a good kick--it's not watered down like so many other restaurants. And they serve the chips with a complementary bean dip that is addictive. A great relatively new restaurant. I'd go here instead of La Cantina any day, and I'll bring my family along next time.
I ordered take out. The food was ready upon my arrival. My order was correct and the food was hot. My previous dine in experiences were all good. Good service & good food. I recommend you give it a try.
Lunch with a friend, we had a wonderful time at El Viejo Tony.
Fast service first time in a draft beers bartender an nice
My husband & I decided to eat here before our movie, as we hadn't tried them before. Amya was our sweet hostess. The service was excellent! All the wait staff smiled, refilled our salsa without being asked, and our waiter, Isaias, checked on us often. Max (one of the managers) came by to check on us and interact. He has a fun, playful personality we enjoyed. Antonio (another manager) was up front as we were leaving and talked a long time with my husband about things in Mexico. The food was good. We especially enjoyed the black bean dip before our meal. They also serve red & green salsa too. If they'll just start offering sour cream sauce for my chicken enchiladas we will be the best of friends! We liked the light atmosphere and comfortable booths with their high backs (nice for privacy). I recommend you come see and taste for yourself!
GREAT place to eat!!! Food was excellent and service was exceptional!!! The margaritas were very good!!! The guacamole was made fresh at our table! It was some of the best I’ve ever had!!! I like that they have a lunch menu and happy hour 7 days a week! Most only have these on week days not weekends! Will definitely be back and recommend it!!!’
Visited on May 25, 2024 and the food was very good and hot. Nothing was over spiced. Everything was seasoned just right. Had plenty to eat and even brought some home.
My family and I were there a few weeks ago and everything was absolutely amazing! The food was delicious, service was prompt and friendly, atmosphere was welcoming and inviting! We will definitely be back!
Our Waiter was Very Fast and Courteous. Knew the Daily Specials! Had our food out quickly. We didn't have to wait long for a to go container or the check! Very Impressive young man!
We have been there several times since they opened in Beaumont at different times of day from lunch to late night. Every visit we receive the best service & delicious food. Their salsa is the best around! Love the place!
Wonderful food the waitress was helpful curtious.
The food, service & atmosphere are all amazing! Lots to choose from. The refried black beans & salsa that are served with your chips are both SO GOOD!
Large portions, Excellent Service, Large Parties or Single seating available!
Good food! I always love the lupita special but I dont think that I have ever been disappointed with what I have ordered
Great food, attentive staff, fantastic margaritas.
Everything is so expensive. This place included. But I can't base it off that considering you can't go anywhere without spending at least 15 bucks a person. That being said, put the prices aside and you have good food with good drinks. The servers are almost always nice and ready to greet you. The drinks are good. There are lots to choose from, and the prices go from basic to high but no different from any other place selling mixed drinks. The food is always good. I haven't gotten anything I don't like, and the atmosphere is fun and colorful. My kids like it, I like it. We've been a few times. I'll pick this place over the other choices in bmt when we want some texmex.
Came in from out of town and decided to try this restaurant, let me tell you, the service, atmosphere and food was delicious. I ordered the dragon fruit margarita, and it was delicious. I highly recommend giving this place a try for anyone visiting Beaumont.
The food was great as always. This is the first time I tried the Beaumont location and I was very pleased with the food and the service
I recently had the pleasure of dining at El Viejo Tony BEAUMONT, and I must say, it was a delightful culinary experience. The restaurant boasts a cozy and inviting atmosphere, perfect for a relaxing meal. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the food. El Viejo Tony BEAUMONT excels in delivering outstanding dishes that tantalize the taste buds. From the first bite to the last, every dish was bursting with flavor and expertly prepared. The menu features a range of options, including traditional Mexican cuisine, with a modern twist. Whether you're a fan of sizzling fajitas, flavorful enchiladas, or mouthwatering tacos, you won't be disappointed. The quality of ingredients used in each dish was evident, and the attention to detail in presentation was impressive. The flavors were well-balanced, and the portion sizes were generous, ensuring a satisfying dining experience. In addition to the delectable food, the service at El Viejo Tony BEAUMONT was top-notch. The staff members were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. They were always ready to offer recommendations and ensure that every guest had a memorable dining experience. Overall, El Viejo Tony BEAUMONT is a must-visit restaurant for those seeking exceptional Mexican cuisine in a pleasant atmosphere. With its great food, attentive service, and inviting ambiance, it is a true gem that leaves a lasting impression. I highly recommend giving it a try, and I am already looking forward to my next visit.
I visited with family for lunch. Great food, the service was amazing, the restaurant atmosphere made you feel at home, and friendly staff constantly checked on us, there is plenty of parking, and the menu is reasonably priced. Go check them out if you're in town!
The food is amazing and the service is always great. We come here once every few weeks and have had nothing wrong ever. The place has a really nice vibe as well.
This is a great place to go and enjoy great food, good company, and great drinks. Highly recommend. One of my favorite spots in Beaumont.
As far as house margaritas go, El Viejo Tony has some of the best I've tried anywhere. The Chunky Avocado Salad was as good or better than any homemade guacamole I've had, and my bartender/server Breeanne was on top of her game. The atmosphere was pretty good but not quite as good as the El Viejo Tony in Derrider, LA. I would strongly recommend you give them a chance!
Service isn't is great along with the food. Only Mexican restaurant around that serves bean dip too and it's amazing.
Ya'll, I can't recommend this place enough. The food was prepared very well. The Margaritas were very good. The service was timely and professional and with a smile. My wife and I and our 5 children came out. There is not one complaint we can make. If your reading this review looking for a place to eat, look no further. Just come here.
I had a half on-the-rocks and half frozen top shelf margaritas and I just say, it was to die for! I could not stop drinking it! The boyfriend had a bloody Mary he said was awesome! We actually split the mixed fajita plate for 2 and it was excellent! We will definitely come back here!
Pretty good Tex Mex for SE Texas. We have always gotten really good service. We like the black beans & salsa & chip served free before our meal. I don't like black beans, but I like theirs. The Beef Tacos Mexicanos are delicious so are their cheese enchiladas. One son got the fajitas & the other got chicken quesadillas. We got both the yellow & white queso. They were pretty good. Sweet tea is sweet (as it should be) & the rice & beans aren't too shabby.
One of our favorite places to eat. Food and service are always exceptional!
We had a group that went last night & had a blast. The servers were awesome. We got there late & they didn't complain that we stayed a little past closing. We had some friends come in from California & that's where they wanted to go. So that's Where went & they didn't disappoint. Quesadillas were on point. Had some football on & had a great time.
Food was excellent and served very timely. Waiter was great but seemed like he had better things to do if I had a grip. 9 out of ten.
Absolutely the best Mexican food & Margaritas I have ever tasted! I highly recommend the steak and shrimp quesadilla with a side of "homemade guacamole" and their top shelf Margarita. Terrific staff! Can't wait to go there again.
First time at El Viejo Tony. Absolutely loved it. It wasn't super busy, the atmosphere was great, and the service was excellent. Food was delicious and portions were of good size. Definitely will be back
We had lunch today and it was amazing! From the attentiveness of the host to the excellent service of the server. Everyone was smiling and made you feel exceptionally comfortable. The food was fresh and delicious Everyone was truly satisfied. Thank you all it was Great 10 out of 10 I definitely recommend!!
Mayra is my favorite waitress here! She always brings little empty salsa cups for my kiddos I can put cheese dip in it for the kids. We never have an empty glass! She is very intuitive to our needs!
The white queso and warm salsa are delicious. I absolutely love the Fajitas here. The waiter was amazing. I highly recommend
1st time to eat with family if 4 adults. The food was exceptional. We all had different lunch specials and we were so happy with flavor of the food. Chips, salsa and black bean dip were so good. Food came out fast. The waitress was great. Very attentive. Will definitely be back. My new favorite mexican restaurant.
had an incredible experience, and Mayra made it even better! She was so attentive, noticing the moment my drink was empty and refilling it without me having to ask. The food was absolutely delicious, and I loved everything she recommended. Her suggestions were spot on! Truly a fantastic experience all around. Thank you all the way from Canada!
Hubby and I had dinner here. We were seated right away. No wait time! My server, Breeanne, was very polite. I was impressed that she took our order without writing it down and we received everything just as we had ordered it. My chunky avocado salad was prepared right at the table for me fresh, which was amazing and a pleasant surprise. It was like a party in my mouth! I will definitely be back. Thanks for the great service.
Great serving sizes been here twice and the food is great will definitely be back for more the micheladas here are AMAZING! The nachos were great we got that as an appetizer to share. They also bring chips and salsa with a bean dip to the table which is tasty. The serving sizes are very good I had the tacos a la mexicana last time I was here I believe thats what they are called they were really good I do wish the tortillas were handmade that would make them 10/10 amazing but that's alright.
Food was good enjoyed the house Rita's. Atmosphere nice wish we had known it was other menus waitress just gave us the lunch menu once finished eating we notice other guest had different menu's. Next time we visit we will know to ask. Overall it was nice
Our waitress was on point and very friendly but feel like the food was a little over priced for what you got. My cowboy burrito was mostly tortilla but the fajita chicken in it was good. But 10$ for a half order of cheese quesadilla seems a bit pricey.
Food is good. The staff has always been polite and friendly. The place is clean and kept up. The baby changing table in the Men's restroom is kind of unstable and needs fixing. Other than that place is great.
We love coming to El Vejoy! BUT yesterday when we came in, around two-ish. We saw the jumbo patron Rita’s were on special for 10.75! So we each got one and we were charged full price instead of the 10.75.. We had got our card back before we realized then our waitress never came back by for us to ask. Just a little frustrating, so be sure to check your receipt! Otherwise, amazing place!
Good food but better margaritas. Cool bartender.
Have enjoyed everything I’ve had here. The service from our waiter, Manual was excellent. He has waited on us two times & is just the right amount of attentive. My favorite thing is their Chicken Tortilla Soup. Fresh, healthy & delicious!
The people were very nice here and it is a nice restaurant no doubt. I just did not like my food and it could be just the plate I had. The presentation was great it just wasn’t all that in the taste. I hope to try again one day and make a different choice that may take away from this particular plate.
Everything we've had there has been delicious. All of our servers have all been very attentive. We were a little surprised how small the half oder of ground beef nachos was (see pic). My little one loves dipping chips in the bean dip that comes out with the salsa. We'll definitely be back again soon.
We like coming here for the chips and cheese for our Littles. The service was ok the two times we've been here - nothing spectacular. The atmosphere is cool, save the dia de los muertos type figures all year round. We will come here again.
Great food and budget friendly. Quick service every time.
The were lunch specials on Sunday, so the prices were good. The food was okay but the server not once asked us if we needed anything. He forgot our request twice.
Not busy at 7:30 pm, crispy taco order and side of beans and rice, all barely warm, 10 minutes to get it, tacos were very dry, waitress was great and price good.
Food was pretty good. Chicken tortilla soup was very good. Lots of chicken and veggies. Salsa was warm and a bit spicy for me, but that's just personal preference. Service was slow, so don't be in a hurry. It definitely had a "bar atmosphere". Loud music and loud TV's. Fun but a little loud for conversation.
Went for lunch. The bean dip was great. Tried the pollo diablo, the portion was very small, and the bacon had not been cooked through all the way. I ordered a burrito, but got 2 tacos instead? Nbd but the chicken tasted like it had been frozen and reheated. Wait staff was kind and friendly. Not a bad experience, but not a great one
Taco was soggy and inedible. Guac had zero flavor except lime. The cheese enchilada and bean dip was fabulous though.
Didn't enjoy this location. The salsa looked like gravy and didn't taste right. Our bacon shrimp wrap was tasted spoiled. Despite the food discount, it was our first and last visit.
First time at this place restaurant. my tilapia was dry and no taste. This place is for those the like tex-mex food were every plate have cheese. But if you like Mexican food go next door is a better restaurant.
Stopped in for LATE lunch. Ordered El Boracho lunch portion which was 2 beef burritos ( more the size of enchiladas) covered in white cheese with rice and beans. It was OK. Cheese was not overly thick, which, for me, was good. Beef was mildly seasoned. Overall the food was just plain. :/ Didn’t get pic of my meal. Happy hour House Margaritas were nice in size and presentation. Red salsa was served warm, alongside a black bean dip (just ok) but chips seemed stale. Forgot to add… there were no greens on my plate- no shredded lettuce, no chopped tomatoes, no pico de gallo. 😔
Heard great things, went to dinner on a Saturday evening around 7pm. Sat in less than 20mins Waiter was attentive and welcoming Had a complaint about the presidente margarita, very weak. Manager came and addressed. Tried it half and half (half frozen) so the ice wouldn't water it down. Still was quite weak. Tried the ribeye and shrimp, ordered it medium rare, it came out well done. Wife had the cheese/beef/chicken enchiladas. Food wasn't great. We didn't want to complain again. Service was good.and our food came out quick, it just wasn't very good. They were very busy and had several parties waiting outside. Always tip your waiter/waitress, not their fault the food didn't come out well. We'll try the one in Port Arthur sometime in the future.
Ordered the large nachos it was $14.99 and when it came out there were only ten chips around the border of the plate.. they said that’s how they make it. We had to pour our basket of chips onto the plate to have enough to eat on. My advice is not to be so stingy, it’s supposed to be ate not a decoration.
The food here is awful. My salsa was a giant clump of tomato. The chicken enchilada was just shredded chicken. No seasoning, no sauce, terrible. The queso had blue cheese in it. I loathe blue cheese. And who in the heck puts blue cheese in queso??? Tortilla soup was inedible. The rice was good. Won't go there again.
First time visit was on August 10, 2021. I ordered the fajitas and was very DISPLEASED!! They were very dry, bland and tough. No season whatsoever. My significant other ordered chicken breast with queso and she too said her meat tasted dry. To be completely honest I've had better food at Casa Ole and that says A LOT.
Verde enchiladas lack flavor, refried beans were watered down, bean soup wasn't good. Manager walked by table 3 times with empty dishes, There is a certain air about the place I didn't care for, not a welcoming atmosphere.
Update: Went again tonight and the staff are not friendly. Most are okay with the hostess being the only one that came across as snobby, but none were friendly. The fajitas tasted freezer burned. Food was meh to horrible and service was horrible. One of my enchiladas was hard and chewy. How long does an enchilada have to sit out before it becomes hard and chewy? The black bean dip was good. We used to love the salsa, but something was different about it. It didn't have that same pop it used to. Asked for spicy sauce, then asked the manager when he came by, then asked the server again before finally getting it near the end of our meal. Neither the server nor the manager were friendly. Even the water was bad, but my son said Beaumont water has been having issues lately so not holding that against the restaurant. Something to keep an eye on if it persists.
Not good. Fajita Chicken taco salad was horrible. A small amount of beans in the bottom of the shell. Shell was not crispy. Then a pound of lettuce. Two small slices of tomato. And the chicken was SUPER dry. Salsa was not tasty. No green sauce. A cup of cold beans. Chips tasted like they came from a grocery store. Staff was nice. Hard time getting some salt. Left and up from staff were busy talking amongst themselves to say goodbye. Don't go. Waste of money and you'll leave with a tummy ache
Literally the worst. I ordered supreme nachos for Waitr delivery and this is the queso they gave me.... They're so rude when I talk to them. We've been in person several times... their tortillas are like store bought mission yellow corn tortillas they’re not even real and have a nasty after taste. Just no... We could get way better cheaper food from the food truck. I literally got 2 tbs of queso for cheesy nachos. They don't care about quality food or customers. Never again.
We ordered fajitas and asked for 1 pieces of corn and 1 piece of flour as we don’t like to waste the three tortillas that come with the order. When we got the bill they charged us $1.50 for supposed extra tortillas. When we questioned it she did not budge or remove the charge. Very disappointed.
Quite possibly the blandest Tex Mex I’ve had in my life. Ordered the enchilada plate with one of each (chicken, beef, cheese). I’m not sure how you get beef to taste this flavorless. Did they boil it? The chicken was the only thing that had a hint of seasoning. Even the gravy/ sauce on top was flavorless. Beans were runny and again…no flavor. Even some salt would be a welcome addition. The rice is typical Spanish rice that more than likely came packaged from Sysco. I have a hard time believing anything was actually cooked in this kitchen. If so, the chef should be ashamed. The only saving grace here is the waitstaff. Attentive and courteous.
Not impressed! Service definitely needs improvement. Took a while to get waited on. Others next to us, who came in after us, received their food before we ordered. Getting refills was next to impossible. Manager said he would get refills but we never saw him again. Food was just okay. Nothing special to make me want to come back. On a good note: The salsa is excellent.
My food was not hot. The service was terrible. When the waiter brought us the drinks, he did not bring the chips and salsa. We had to ask for them. My wife wanted extra salsa and she never received Ed it. The waiter seemed as though he was in a hurry. I was total dissatisfied with entire service and food. Will not be going there again.
I have been a big fan of this place for awhile now and love the food until today. I call to order a pint of Queso and a 1/2 Pint of Bean dip. When I got there the girl at the front was annoyed when I asked for sour cream ( I asked how much, didn't expect it for free) so I told her not to worry about it. Then when I got my order the queso and the Bean dip were the same size. Also, it didn't come with chips which I thought was odd. So when I got back to the office I decided to call the manager(Fernando) to see if I was overcharged for the Queso. Before I could even get to that he said "yeah, I know, you had the Queso and the bean dip. That is the pint, also, it doesn't come with chips so if that is what you were about to ask me it doesn't come with it" Very condescendingly. Customer service is lacking and I won't go back now. I will miss the food for sure but I'm not dealing with that again!
Ordered cheese enchiladas with verde sauce. Everything tasted the same. There was just no flavor in the ingredients. The chips were stale, the salsa needed some kick. I went because I saw great reviews and honestly thought I must’ve been in the wrong restaurant! No reason for me to go back.
We went in a little late but asked if it was ok to still eat. The manager said sure so I felt at ease. The waitress named Stephanie though kept rushing us and stood there as soon as she gave us the menu to order. It was very uncomfortable and she was not friendly at all. It was my first and last time to ever go. The food was terrible. Only good thing was the salsa.
The 1st time, the food was a little salty, but other than that, so today, I went back, I bought the full size nachos, tamale, & chalupa, omg, ABSOLUTE WORSE FOOD EVER! Do not waste your money, I spent $40. yesterday and another $33. today and that was pure trash. DO NOT DO IT!
Dry chicken, no flavor, cheese had been melted but was served barely warm. Very hard to eat. Corn tortillas were warmed in a microwave and not warmed all the way through. Just a tip Queso flameado is usually made with QUESO not shredded cheese. The service was amazing but the food lacked tremendously.
Watery queso the enchilada and tamales tasted like they just don’t seasoning on top. The queso was cold and watery. The salsa was warm and good chips were old and style. Definitely not a 4.3 more like a 2.2 do yourself a favor and go next-door to La Cantina. It’s over priced here
The restaurant looks nice, and the decorations are pretty. However, this is not a restaurant that my family will return to. The food is bland, and it is not worth the price. The server was nice, but he was in a rush for our drink order. Afterward, everything else was good.
If I could give negative stars I would. Absolutely the worst Mexican food ever!!! We are a Mexican food loving family. My kids wouldn't eat it, I had to spit out most of mine, and when asked how the food was, I said absolutely horrible. They didn't care. No manager to fix it and waitress seemed unphazed. Will never be back! Portions were small for the price. Salsa was weak in flavor and spice, watered down, and tasted like it was from a can...it was served hot in temperature. Gross!
We had a party of 6. Waiter skipped over someone's drink order... one person in our party ordered a burrito Guisado there was NO meat only beans, rice & a few potatoes... food honestly wasnt that good (taste wise) our waiter was not up to standards he would get drinks set them on a table and walk away to other tables then come back & gave our drinks.
When you get to this place and you like more spicy food make sure you bring yours or pay extra $2.50 per serve. This is a fake Mexican food. I do not recomend as real Mexican food. The owner is trying to make money on extra spicy salsa.
