We celebrated our anniversary dinner here and the food was just fabulous, the service was great, the ambiance was very nice. This restaurant is the perfect choice for special occasions. Parking was also validated. I've posted pics of the food that wet ordered.
Delightful experience, our waiter, a Riaz was hilarious and incredibly charming. We had this whole debacle and how to pronounce, "Thyme."I ordered the Thyme Warp, which was this delicious drink with St. Germaine, fresh thyme, lemon, and Bombay Gin. A customer tried correcting him on the pronunciation and we bonded over customer service and silly interactions we get throughout the day. Riaz who was excellent, observant and witty, gave great suggestions, gave a heads up on the open face sandwich (the best, most tender steak on this drenched toast with fresh juicy tomatoes and Bleu cheese). The steak sandwich came with onion rings and fries. One of the drinks we ordered was the Pearl Cosmo with Effen Vodka, sparkling wine and rosemary syrup, really delicious, bold in flavors, but the after taste was my favorite part. They only had kushi oysters, but that wasn't any problem. They're some of my favorite anyways. The mignonette to accompany them was absolutely fantastic. I want to come back when they have the other oysters available. Our first dish though with the steaming hot polenta cake with the mushroom medley and truffle oil was superb. I would definitely come here again. I heard their Happy Hour is on fleek.
Pearl Signature Sable fish is the best! It's so delicious. Over all service is great and enjoyed my dinner there.
Fresh seafood and good service. I know that the price is high but it's a seafood restaurant and they are fresh. Also you have no need to crack them yourself. They came cracked and ready to eat. I think it's worth the price.
Great ambiance. Very classy. The seafood is delicious as well. The restaurant can be hard to find, it's across the street from the cheesecake factory and next to the hotel.
The happy hour really is that good. HUGE $1 oysters, good drinks and other small plates. A great place for a work outing or a date.
The crab king legs with butter was the best I've had in Washington
Excellent food. Great for date nights.
Lunch prices much better than dinner , I would say a real deal, service is slow so relax, you will have time for 2 drink's.
The broiled oysters were by far the best seafood I've ever experienced!
Great food and service! Staff is very knowledgeable and their suggestions are great.
Big group dinner with small menu, everything was very good!
Overall a great place to dine. Food is reasonably priced, and definitely well worth it. This is one of the rare place that can actually cooking their steaks properly. Kudos to the chef. Our server Ashley was respectful and patient. If you are looking for good food great service and an overall great experience then this is the place to go to.
Really great seafood. Excellent, attentive service! Loved our starters and our meals. Calamari and scallops were cooked to perfection. The chowder wasn't very thick if that's your thing, but only point of note I have rather than a complaint (preference issue).
Went here on Wednesday for our company Xmas party. Huge table, 18 of us, was expecting lots of delays and mistakes for a large party like that. I was completely wrong, service was amazing, prompt, and friendly. Food was outstanding! Everyplate was cleaned, i had the butternut squash risotto, i died, so good! Everyone said it was the best company Christmas Party to date, we will be back next year!
Late night happy hour was fantastic! Two of us shared 5 small plates. The cocktails were superb. Our server Ashley was nice and friendly. We even met a seahawk! Made for memorable anniversary outing.
We stopped by here on Sunday and I was pleasantly surprised. We had half a dozen oysters, calamari, and the king crab legs, and steamed clams. The oysters were fresh, calamari was crispy, and the king crab legs were buttery. I washed it down with a nice glass of Sauvignon Blanc from happy hour. Service was great and prompt and the atmosphere was open.
The atmosphere has always been welcoming yet intimate. I've only been here twice and the food was delicious each time. I had the pan roasted chicken and substituted the fries for risotto... soooo good!
Awesome spot for seafood dishes. The servers are attentive and entertaining. The manager is a character and you can tell he cares about quality customer service. The oysters are a solid pick!👌
I very much enjoyed the marinated Sablefish entree; the fish was very buttery, slightly meaty, and the sauce was surprisingly spicy and flavorful in the best way. I also thought they had an excellent selection of different Oyster varieties.
One of my favorite happy hour spots on the Eastside. It's sophisticated, elegant and carries a terrific menu. For $5 handcrafted cocktails and plates at under $6, you'll be more than impressed. The restaurant also has $10 lunches that are super tasty. If you're visiting this place, they have free valet just across the way at the Westin.
Raudel was just awesome had a really great service and really awsome personality. Had great recommendations for the food. Was one of the best birthday meals I've had in a longtime. My wife found this place and we love it and we will be back!
This place has delicious seafood, great cocktails, and a decent beer selection. I like the modern, simple ambiance. Good prices for the location as well. Great happy hour menu! I no longer live in the Pacific NW, but used to send a bunch of my guests here--they have all been equally impressed and have only shared good experiences.
My colleague and I had a nice first experience at Pearl. We dined in the bar and the waitress was really friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. They were out of 3 different bubbles/wine we had picked on the menu, but we finally found something listed on the menu that they actually had inventory of. We ordered multiple items. The octopus was very over cooked, as well as the shrimp. The goat cheese was a little odd as it was rolled in herbs (not described that way on the menu) and there were a lot of stems. The bread was also very greasy. However, we did love the veggies. The broccolini, asparagus and salad were all home runs. Oyster sample was delicious as well. Sablefish was cooked perfectly with delicious crab dumplings. The sauce was a perfect accompaniment. Pearl is in downtown Bellevue so parking is limited to the near by garages, but the ambiance of the restaurant is nice and the service we received was 5 star. Overall, the food we ordered was hit or miss but I would go back and give some of the other items a try.
Upscale and very pricey, but decent food quality and good taste. We came with a large group and were seated in a dedicated room which was great. The appetizers were good for sharing. I did not like the truffle fries very much, as they were too thick for my taste. Their thinkness was mentioned on the menu though, so just a personal thing. The seafood as well as the steaks were very good and everyone got their food at the same time which shows the kitchen's professional and abilitiy to deal with a larger group. As Pearl is more on the pricy side (the scallop entree was around 40$), I am rating 4 stars for the overall experience.
Pearl has become one of five go to establishemnets in Bellevue. 4 .34576 out of 5.00000 stars. Beverages... they have a fine selection of signature cocktails and 2 dollars off during HH in the Bar. I'm typically a 'Gasping Gin Martini' Dude, but their Shiso Wild Drop is awesome; a tad sweet but easily down-able. Wine selection is in line with most high end resturants. Appetizers... THE Roasted Pork Belly is absolutely the quintessential small plate to get. It would Turn a Vegan into a full fledged Carnivore. I'm certain that that will insight the Vegans reading this to be appalled... well that just means there'll be more for me. Only negative is that the portion size seems to have shrunk by about 50%... Just say'n when we first started going and getting this amazing starter it was enough for two even four if you just wanted a taste. Now shared by two its 'Just a Taste'. Mains... The Pan-Roasted Free Range 1/2 Chicken is fabulous. The Chiopino is good but could be turned up a notch for or five in heating as in Spicy. The Scallops were cooked just right. Deserts... No comment on this, basically due mostly in part to I rarely partake in deserts and I prefer savory. Did I mention that Pear Resturant is also in welcoming and friendly Bellevue; you know the place that wants you to come visit and shop and eat and finds a way not to make parking abhorently difficult or expensive. Oh, did I mention that parking was free, 3hour validated valet parking. Maybe Seattle could learn something, D'Oh what am I thinking its impossible... then that's another story.
I like their happy hour. The happy hour for oysters are only till 6 pm on Mon - Fri but those are the best oysters I had in a long time.
Nice ambience and good service. The oysters were definitely a lot smaller than they appear... and be careful ordering because half the items were missing on busy Sat night
Lovely serene atmosphere. Delicious lunch entrees
Food is expensive... the size of entree is like appetizer...
good late night happy hour. otherwise this place is overpriced.
Drinks are very good. Service was poor though and a double G&T was $20+. What can you expect though, Bellevue pricing and all... Good meet up spot if you are bar hopping though.
Food & Drink we're very nice. We had a party of six, and the waitstaff did not match the food or prices. We asked for a non-domestic red wine and were told, "Of course, such as California?". Lots of instances like that. Food raised the dating though, very nice.
My husband and I had HH here. Great drinks, appetizers and the oysters were delicious! We've had ok to good service on previous visits but this time was the best of all. Taylor was our waitress but Hannah was super nice, quick and helpful.
Excellent happy hour. Good quality wines and small plates at $6. Service in bar has been good, but a bit variable in dining room. Food consistently good and interesting.
Food was great! The price is good comparing to other restaurants around the area. Unfortunately the last time my family and I were there, they served my daughter spoiled milk. I thought my daughter was joking around so i tasted myself. Yuck!! It took forever to get that spoiled milk taste out of my mouth. You would think after that they would comp my daughter's drink. For that Pearl only gets 4 star from me.
Went in for lunch. The server is really attentive and welcoming. We like the flavor of the food and the portion is just right for lunch. I wish the selection is a bit more as we always ordered the same thing.
Service was very slow from the beginning. We had reservation made, but still waited for 20 minutes to get our table ready and the whole restaurant only had one table at that time, I didn't really understand why! Appetizer was a long wait as well, oysters came first, since it was a cold dish, but we waited 40 minutes for our hot appetizers and that was after we complained about it. Overall, food tasted good, service was slow, but polit. Pretty pricey place, probably better to go during happy hour time that regular meal time.
We went here for a large pre-arranged group dinner last week. Honestly, I wasn't that impressed. My salmon was overcooked (or it sat under the lamp) that the sauce had dried up and the salmon along with it. Our waitstaff was pretty attentive though. The best thing we had was probably the dessert. I've been here a few times over the years. I think I prefer it for drinks over dinner.
Was looking forward to loving this place. Walking in the atmosphere was great! Was meeting people for business. It was a very quiet place for business. The food was very average considering that the cost was fairly high. FYI It also is in a difficult place to find. I walked over and around it twice. Had to get a map to actually find it. It's on the first floor and needs to be entered from the street.
Mercilessly mediocre. There are lots of reviews that said there were better options and I should have heeded their warning. The atmosphere was ok, as was the service. Not one thing was bad but taken together it felt lacking. We ordered scallops with polenta and the cioppino. We got 4 seared scallops and 4 clams. For what we paid it felt like a looser. We also got the mac and cheese with crab. That was a winner. Tasted of crab and comfort goody all over.
Crab chowder was good but not great. Salad was good but not great. They left the tails on the shrimp and then buried them in salad dressing to leave crunchy little surprises. Ambience is very nice.
The crab cakes were good, but the steak sandwich was laughable. It was a few chunks of awful tasting meat just thrown on top of a piece of toast with a tomato slice. I wouldn’t recommend coming here if you’re hungry. Server was also painfully slow to bring the check although the restaurant was fairly empty.
Great service, great atmosphere, but severely lacking in the taste bud department.. My wife and I didn't enjoy any of the dishes we tried. Simply put they were poorly made, and I've come to expect more from restaurants that charge this much. Bland crab cakes, roast duck with a sauce that just tasted like honey, roast pork that was over cooked and dry. I will not be returning or recommending.
There are two simple attributes to a good dining experience - good food and timely service. In our experience, the food was good to great, but the service was slow to the point of unpleasantness, i.e., it took 40 minutes to bring out an appetizer of a dozen oysters (how long can it take to shuck?), and another 30 minutes for the food to arrive. So our kids, who don't like oysters, waited 1 hour and 10 minutes for their meal. It isn't complicated to pay attention to your guests and to bring out complementary bread, fries, etc., for the kids if you're not able to serve in a reasonable time.
Great food but terrible service. Sat at the bar and were the only 2 customers sitting. Had to ask for a menu 3 times as the bartender kept forgetting.Getting the second and third round of drinks was equally frustrating. He seemed more focused on chatting with servers and eating his own meal. Will never return with so many good options nearby.
To be completely honest I was really excited to try Pearl - came in for happy hour around 5pm, was well greeted at the door but that’s when the good service stopped. Tried to make eye contact with the one server and bartender on the floor for 20 minutes but got blatantly ignored each time until another server was on the floor. I get it if you’re busy but at least swing by and acknowledge us - you clearly only cared about the people you’ve already sat and we were so close to leaving until the second server came out. Didn’t order until about 5:30pm, the $1 oysters were mediocre and still pretty sandy and got one lemon for six oysters between two people and paid for a $18 dungeonous crab cake which was way too buttery and not even that savory and very whatever fries and a sad side of a corn (?) salad? But it gets worse - the beers on tap (we each got a mannys and a mac n jacks) were barely refrigerated, barely hoppy/carbonated tasted old like they’ve been sitting the keg for months, it was gross and not even worth their $6 happy hour price. For a snazzy place in Bellevue they can honestly do so much better.
Make sure to check your bill. We were given the wrong bill. It was a huge bill that had so much food on it and there was hardly anybody in there at the time so the bill was obviously fake. It was about $200 more than our original bill! We were about to carelessly put our card into the bill booklet and give it to them but I had a weird feeling so I checked it and sure enough... they almost got away with $200. I wonder how many people have not even glanced at their bill! Please do it!! I’d have a few things to say about the food but I’ll just leave it at that. Was not impressed.
I had high expectations for this restaurant but I will not be back nor will I recommend it to anyone. I always stay at the Bellevue Westin on shopping trips to Seattle. On this occasion it was my friend's birthday and we wanted to go for dinner at a nice restaurant. After some research and reading reviews we booked a reservation before our trip. Things went wrong the minute we walked in the door. The restaurant has segregated seating: the front part of the restaurant is where "the beautiful people" get seated. The front area was seated with lively with young locals and business smarts. If you are older or obviously a tourist you get whisked right to the back area even though there is room in the front. Don't be fooled by the photos of the cool interior, there is an area in the back for the not so glamorous who doesn't fit the image they try to portray on the website. My friend ordered crab cakes and I ordered the rack of lamb. The tarragon sauce on the crab cakes was plopped on excessively as though someone hit the bottom of the bottle a little too hard so it came flying across the plate. The lamb was a huge disappointment; while it was tender, it was completely flavourless. They must have run out of salt and pepper so also didn't bother with any spice, herb, or mint. The food was also lukewarm at best. It was unbearable and we were only too glad to have ordered one glass of wine instead of a bottle. Needless to say we left as quickly as possible to go somewhere else for more wine and dessert.
My husband and I came here on a date night and we're not impressed. We had reservations so we were sat promptly. It took our server a long time to notice us (which was fine because we were ok relaxing and hanging out). When she finally noticed us she greeted us with a tray full of drinks for another table so she quickly said hi and took our drink order and app order while she was on the run. My husband got a TERRIBLY made old fashioned (which we sent back for something else). Our appetizer was long gone before our server remembered to come back to take our order, to which she AGAIN had a full tray, of food this time, when she took our order. After our food came, it was gone before our server came back to check on us. It was just a bummer that we were an afterthought to her and she was always busy doing something else while taking care of us. I understand that service can be hit or miss So no one should judge a restaurant solely on their servers. We got the most incredible appetizer (truffled mushrooms!!), my husband got a steak that was good, I got the short rib that was just ok. I give Pearl a one star for this experience alone- I think I'd be willing to give it another shot in the future. -also, very minor but.. they should consider dimming their dining room lights more. It was so bright in there at 8pm, I felt like I was in a cafeteria!
