This was mine and my husband's first time here and everything was great. The atmosphere was very calming and enjoyable. The staff was very sweet and prompt with our menus. I ordered the one egg over easy with pancake. The egg was cooked to perfection and the pancake was big that it took up the whole plate. It was cooked just right and it wasn't to thick, but yet it wasn't thin either. It was very light, airy, and fluffy just the way I like my pancakes. The price was just right for someone on a budget. This is definitely a place that I highly recommend and we will be coming back again.
Place came highly recommended, quite, great coffee, breakfast was amazing. Highly recommend from breakfast in Waco
Service were excellent. Coffee served hot. WHEAT PANCAKE IS A MUST TO TRY. LOVE IT. eggs cooked to perfection and flavourful. Great for breakfast and brunch.
Best breakfast place I've eaten at in a long time. My breakfast burrito was cooked to perfection and presented well. My wife's egg was cooked to perfection along with one huge pancake that was cooked nice and fluffy and done all the way!!! The service was amazing and I loved the atmosphere!!!
First time here and had a great experience! Got the gluten free pancakes and they were great. Bobby's Ranchero was spot on. And they had a really nice hot tea selection for me 😊. They really need to warn first timers about how huge the pancakes are 🤣. Yes, we had to get a to-go box 😁. Thank you!
The downtown Waco location is amazing! The food was top tier or as my husband said "chefs kiss 🤌". Fabulous food, vibe & price! Definitely recommend!!
The best gluten free pancakes IMHO are from Cafe Cappuccino in Waco, Texas. I really wish every other restaurant used the same batter. You'd never know that they were gluten free. To me, they are perfect!!
Our family loves Cafe Cappuccino. The food is always delicious and the prices are super reasonable. The service is outstanding. My oldest has severe food allergies. This is the only place other than our own house and her Nonna’s house where she can eat pancakes safely. She is allergic to tree nuts and peanuts. They do have tree nuts in their kitchen but their chef is the best. They keep them separate. He cleans down the whole grill and makes sure it is safe for her. He even let me check the packaging on the batter to make sure it wasn’t in a facility with nuts. And the servers never sigh or look irritated when I tell them about her allergies and to make sure to let the kitchen know. They are always super nice and accommodating about it. That is not the usual experience at other restaurants. We have also gone several times with large groups of kids and they still are super sweet. I can’t recommend this place enough. It is our go-to place when we are downtown. If you haven’t tried it go because not only is the food delicious the people are fantastic. 💕 🥞 ☕️
Wow. What a hidden gem Cafe Cappuccino is. Everyone is so helpful, food is top notch, and coffee just keeps flowing. We travel the world and when you find a place that feels so welcoming and homely it just the perfect start to the day. Keep up the great work team cappuccino. Special thanks to Stephanie.
Atmosphere: Looking at it from the outside is way different than being inside the establishment. From the outside it blended within the surrounding buildings, but once I entered the restaurant it had a great ambiance, especially with the greenery wall great for photo ops. The lights were nice and ample seating in the front of the building, with more towards the back of the building. There was a lot of natural light and was able to see the farmers market as I had breakfast. Service: Service was great as soon as we entered the restaurant and was almost seated immediately. Our waitress was able to answer all of our questions and was even able to offer recommendations. Quality: I had the Mexican Scramble with a pancake. Before I get to the great part of the meal, the Mexican Scramble had so much flavor and was a decent amount for what was paid for. The sign wasn't lying when it said Pancake Heaven... I got a buttermilk pancake and it was delicious. The right amount of fluffiness and still had the ability to absorb the syrup that was provided. Definitely a top spot for eating purely pancakes. Fili's Fave: No surprise here...the pancakes are where it's at and definitely going to broaden my horizon with the various types of pancakes they offer. Now if I could only obtain some of the merch that the employees were using
I was hoping for the sort of coffee shop where I could sit for a few hours with a laptop and some coffee, but no. This is more cafe and they have a full breakfast menu. On this Sunday morning, the place was crowded and there was a queue so I did the right thing and didn't dawdle after my meal. A lovely ham and cheese omelet was prepared for me. It took about 20 minutes which seems appropriate considering how busy they were. During that time, my coffee was refilled twice and then another cup later. The omelet was a nice sized portion and the marble rye toast was delicious. Definitely a good meal and maybe I'll return when it's not quite so busy.
Cool spot for breakfast. Great service and superior selection’s backed by great food. Must visit if in Waco. Important to call ahead as wait can be long. My only disappointment is the espresso. My doppio just didn’t pack the punch I expected. Americano had three shots and seemed mediocre as well. You come for the food not the coffee I guess
We have visited both sites and have dined in at 100 N. 6th St. and ordered takeout from the location at 1101, Richland. Both times, the personnel provided excellent service. The prices of the food are fairly affordable. Everything we ordered was flavorful and well-proportioned. Priced very reasonable and food comes out quickly. I will be back and I highly recommend you try it out.
Local recommended this joint and totally nailed it. We came at a great time as it wasn’t too busy and we sat down almost immediately and were greeted by friendly staff who provided us hot coffee. We ordered the Cassies omelette and the Mexican mash, minus the sausage because my wife doesn’t eat meat. The waitress recommended a different choice, Bobby’s Rancheros, which she thought my wife might like better because it was similar but no meat. She wasn’t wrong. My wife loved it and could’ve eaten another one she said. The omelette was packed full of diced ham and fantastic. Last but not least were our two side breads included with our meals, the two enormous pancakes we received, one banana chocolate chip, and the other bacon, for a small upgrade fee from regular. The bacon pancake tasted as you might expect a bacon pancake to taste- terrific, and the banana chocolate chip pancake didn’t need any syrup it being so nice and sweet. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, their service prompt, and the restaurant clean and tidy. Located just a few blocks from Magnolia Farms, this is a great place to eat after, or before, you pick up your sweets from Magnolia.
We were in town visiting and went here for breakfast. The food was pretty good, but I ordered a mocha caramel latte and it was not good at all. It tasted like they had just poured milk in regular coffee. I didn't taste any mocha or caramel flavor at all.
Cafe Cappuccino – Pancake Heaven or Pancake Hype? Downtown Waco’s Cafe Cappuccino brands itself as “Pancake Heaven”—lit up in neon like a promise. But anytime you declare heavenly status in breakfast form, you better deliver. So… did they? Atmosphere & Setup Cozy, diner-esque with a touch of charm (including a random Eiffel Tower photo that keeps things interesting). The big catch? You’ve got to scan a QR code at the entrance to get on the waitlist. Not exactly warm and fuzzy, but it’s efficient—especially on weekends. Food Rundown • Breakfast Taco: Bacon, hash browns, cheese, and eggs folded inside a flour tortilla. A bit of shredded cheddar and a side of picante sauce—which, honestly, felt like a throwback. Not the worst, not the best—just unexpected. Would’ve preferred a fresh, in-house salsa to lift the flavor. • Sweet Potato Pancake: Huge. Like, one covers the whole plate huge. Texture was nice, edges had a crisp, and it was sweet without being overkill. Ate about half and called it a win. • Coffee: Solid. Hot. No complaints. And the best part? Tony, my server, offered me a to-go coffee without even being asked. That’s next-level. Service: The Real Highlight Let’s talk about Tony. Attentive, friendly, checked on me multiple times without hovering. He anticipated what I needed, and honestly, that elevated the whole experience. It’s rare to get that kind of thoughtful service these days—Tony’s the kind of person that makes you want to come back, even if the pancakes don’t knock you off your feet. Egg Surcharge? Yep. There’s a whole sign about it at the front. “Due to rising egg prices…” and so on. Honestly, I’d rather they just build it into the menu price and call it a day. Nobody wants to walk into a breakfast spot and be greeted by a cost breakdown memo. Final Take: 4 out of 5 stars. The food? Decent. The vibe? Chill. The service? Exceptional. Tony, if you’re reading this—you’re the MVP. And if you go, just know one pancake is plenty. They don’t mess around with portion sizes. ⸻ Want this adapted into a short review for Yelp/Google with a photo caption suggestion too?
Been here a few times, it’s one of the better breakfast places in Waco. We waited about about 5-10 minutes using the check in website to check in. Service was quick to get us drinks and take our food order. After we ordered it took a bit for our food to come out. Maybe 25-30 minutes. The music kept fluctuating in volume which was a bit distracting. Also someone was messing with the lights. The lights in the restaurant turned on and off a few times but no big deal. The food was mostly very great. Mexican mash is super flavorful. Everything was cooked really well except the biscuits and gravy was cold. One single egg on the side was charged 4.05 with surprising and a bit of a rip off since a lot of the items were just barely more than that for a larger amount of food. Other than the biscuits and gravy being cold, overcharged for a single egg, and the food taking a bit to come out it was great. We enjoyed it!
I’ve never had a bad experience at Cafe Cappuccino before, but unfortunately the to-go order I received on 9-25-2025 was disappointing. I ordered the berry and pecan crepes, but the crepe itself was undercooked. I would not recommend ordering crepes to go, though dining in has always been a good experience in the past.
Just TERRIBLE today. Over 45 minutes to get served. Supposed 3-egg omelet was TINY. Got spoiled butter with my pancake. Refills on coffee and water extremely slow to non existent. And over $20 with a 4% credit card fee for all of this. AVOID!
