This bar is located on the top floor of the Marriott Bonvoy. It has great views and the atmosphere is very nice. They also have outdoor sittings, which you can reserve. I got fish tacos and chips with sauce. Both were really good. The fish chunks on the tacos were huge and well cooked. The chips come with 3 sauces (salsa, guac, and some cheese sauce), which was also really good.

Kitchen was closed, wanted to sit outside but manager said he couldnt light the heaters. Great music and vibe, though, DJ was outstanding. Amazing drinks, Angel took care of us and made us some of the best drinks we've had. Definitely will come back to the bar.

Came here for a cute date night on our anniversary, and Angel made it so welcoming! Greeted us with a smile at the door! And our server, Julia was the best! I was very needy and specific about my orders, and she understood and delivered with no issues! We happened to come on a Friday, when it was the busiest, and the live DJ that came on was a great surprise! Such good vibes! More laidback than your typical bar! and such good service! Thank you Angel and Julia, you guys were great! Definitely will be back! 10/10

I really like coming to Study Hall. Its a great place to show people visiting as well as people who are local, but have never been. There are basically no other bar/restaurants in Berkeley with elevated views like this place. It's definitely a vibe and I love that you can sit outdoors or indoors and inside they have multiple seating options. All the food I've tried has been good as well as the drinks. Its not the cheapest place, but you're paying for the ambience. They also have live bands that will play in the evenings. Service has always been good too. If you sit at the high tops, you'll need to order at the bar. Definitely a place you must check out for the views alone.

My first visit and we had THE BEST time with Isela's good care. Her service was the icing on the cake of this beautiful setting – she really made it a special night for our girls' outing. Can't wait to come back.

I really like coming to Study Hall. Its a great place to show people visiting as well as people who are local, but have never been. Really nice setup, 12th floor of the Residence Inn hotel. Indoor and outdoor space. Bar and Bites. Mixed drinks were tasty. Food was so-so. It wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t special or particularly great or memorable. They could definitely do more with the space. I could see it as a great event venue, glass panes outside and views of Berkeley. Has a mixed crowd of college students and ‘older’ folks.

Five star atmosphere. Great view at night 360 degrees around Berkeley from the 12th floor! Fire pits. Bar stool level tables. Loungers. Indoor and outdoor seating. Stylish lighting. Three stars for service. Friday night around 10pm and takes 20 minutes to get your drink after 10 minutes waiting to place the order. But super duper nice waitress though. I think it’s more that they’re understaffed; management issue. Cool list of drinks. And they’ll smoke ‘em with flavored smoke for a neat twist that I rarely see. Very fun place to hang out. Mood music playing but you can still hear yourselves talk.

I went at 4:30pm when they first opened. There was a lot of people there already. There was only 2 servers. Initially, service was slow. My guess was a large business party at the time. The cocktail I had was nice and the wine selection was good for their dinner offerings. Prices are reasonable. I imagine it's nice to be there when it is not so cold. They have only 1 fireplace outside and could really use some outdoor heaters for the winter months. 🥶 I will return when there are outdoor heaters or better weather.

Beautiful view of the city. Had the espresso martini, was a little disappointed in size. Foamy and didn't reach the top of glass. Maui Maui tacos were so delicious!

Started off a lil rocky with the restaurant giving away our table to a bigger party without telling us. Even though we had 8 people. But overall, great food, Great host. Yuki was amazing.

If you’re in the market for amazing 360 degree views of Berkeley and the East Bay then this is the place! Great atmosphere for sips and nibbles. Despite trying going many times, I’ve only tried a couple of appetizers and wouldn’t go for the food. I’m not a beer guy, but do enjoy a cocktail. The cocktails here are a solid rating of “good”. Not the best in the East Bay, but the views certainly make up for it.

The calamari was overcooked and my have had freezer burns which would affect its appearance and lack of moisture. It's nice to see ample portions when precious sample size food is so pervasive. I real want this venue to improve its food preparation even if the menu is simple. Nothing wrong with few and simple choices but what remains must be done well. With our stellar vistas, we need more elevated public venues in the bay area.

I have never had such a horrible experience. I wanted to take my girlfriend who is from out of town to a nice place so i had a reservation to be seated outside near the fire pit but when I arrived, the hostess treated us badly. First, she told us to be seated indoors but we asked to be outside and she made a big deal about it. As we were outside looking at the reserved areas, we saw an available fire pit and asked to be seated there. She then told us that it was only for reservations and we proceeded to tell her we indeed had a reservation for outside. She then made a face and said it’s only for larger groups. No more than five minutes later, they seated a couple who asked to sit there which was the same amount of people we had in our reservation. We asked if there were any other spots to sit at and were told only the small tables yet everyone after us, even walk ins, were given the reserved seatings. When we were at the bar, the bartender had a bad attitude and rolled his eyes. A bit later, we found an available fire pit seating but the manager came over to say “i was about to close this table but whatever” and sighed and shook his head dramatically and was grabbing the materials to close our table yet he went around everyone in the surrounding area and they were told to enjoy their time while we were being rushed to leave. The manager said that the table where we sat was already closed, but we saw others in the same area, at the tables. I felt discriminated against because everyone else received the complete opposite treatment. With our given backgrounds in the restaurant and customer service industry, we treated EVERY worker with the most respect and patience yet we were given different service than others. I am latino and my girlfriend is asian so it was surprising and heartbreaking to have other people of color discriminate against us. It was truly the worst service of all the rooftop bars I've visited in the Bay Area. Also, when we sat down, they didn't bring us forks and napkins until we asked for them and received it 15 minutes later. They had already served us food and everyone else who ordered food were given plates, napkins, utensils, right away as we were the only ones who had to ask for it. The only person who provided good service and gave respect was our server Mike. We told him about the incidents throughout the night and he then did everything he could to apologize for the behaviour and bad treatment from the other staff. Overall, i would NOT recommend this place.
