Crustacean Beverly Hills offers an elegant dining experience with a stunning ambiance, including a fish channel. An's Famous Garlic Noodles and the tuna cigars are highly praised. Some find it overpriced and the food quality inconsistent, especially compared to traditional Vietnamese cuisine.

I celebrated my birthday at crustacean Beverly Hills on February 20th, and to say the service was “outstanding” would be an understatement. Besides the beautiful decor in our private dining room, the service was the most talked about thing of the evening. Selvin and his crew are unmatched. The food was delicious. The drinks were flowing. We were in the Santa Monica private dining room and it was worth every penny. Thank you all for making my day special!!
Crustacean never disappoints, and our recent visit was a testament to its enduring excellence. Celebrating my girlfriend’s birthday with their Power Lunch was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we walked in, the warm welcome from the receptionist set the tone for a fantastic meal. We were seated at a corner table with a lovely street view, adding to the overall ambiance. Our waiter, Sean, was exceptional—knowledgeable, friendly, and full of great recommendations. His enthusiasm for the menu was evident, and his suggestions were spot-on. We started with the Ube cocktail with Kalamansi, which sparked a fun conversation with Sean about Filipino cuisine and a local Filipino restaurant he recommended owned by a former co-worker at Crustacean. A fellow Filipino success story that was heart warming: A special touch was Sean offering us a taste of the iconic noodles, even though it wasn’t part of our pre-fix menu. The appetizers were delightful: my girlfriend enjoyed the Philly cheesecake ravioli, while I opted for the upgraded yellowtail sashimi. For the main courses, she had the scallops ravioli, and I enjoyed the white fish on a bed of rice with silver noodles. Each dish was meticulously prepared and incredibly flavorful. Dessert was a highlight; we were surprised with all four kinds, each adorned with a candle for the birthday celebration. They were all delicious, capping off the meal perfectly. The ambiance at Crustacean remains as iconic as ever, with its beautiful modern Asian decor enhancing the dining experience. The impeccable service and fantastic food make it a top choice for special occasions. Parking is convenient with initial two hours free across the street, making the visit stress-free. Having dined at Crustacean for decades, it’s reassuring to see it maintain its high standards and continue to impress. It’s a place that keeps us coming back, eager for the next memorable experience.
I had a great experience at Crustacean Restaurant Beverly Hills, CA - Brunch, Lunch & Fine Dining. The restaurant's ambiance is very nice and clean. The food was tasty and the presentation was also attractive. The staff was polite and helpful. You can try this place to enjoy food in a good atmosphere in Beverly Hills.
We heard Crustacean Beverly Hills would be closing next year and one of our closest friends suggested we dine there before the close or change locations. We dined here towards the end of 2025. They have a $49 pre-fixe lunch menu available from Wed-Sat but it doesn’t include the dishes they’re famous for from their Secret Kitchen (i.e. An’s Famous Garlic Roasted Dungeness Crab, An’s Famous Garlic Noodles w/ whole Roasted Maine Lobster, and their An’s Famous Garlic Fried Rice). We ordered the above lunch entrees plus their wild mushroom wonton appetizer; and finished our lunch sharing these desserts: Signature Table Side Ice Cream and Warm Beignets. Our server was attentive but not overly present, nice, helpful, and hospitable. The dining room still had Christmas holiday decorations up, and their see through floor to the swimming Koi fish underneath never gets too old. We also found many of the other staff warm and friendly from the host & hostess, table busers, etc. We heard the restaurant’s lease is good through June ‘26 so there is a chance we can return and maybe dine here for dinner (we live in San Diego). I would be remiss if I failed to mention their magician they have going from table to table doing simple to highly complex magic card tricks as well as other feats which I’ll let you witness for yourself if you dine here on a Saturday. While Crustacean’s food & service was amazing, if I’m honest, the table magic I witnessed would place my Yelp/Google rating at SIX stars!
Here’s a NED-style review for Crustacean Restaurant – Beverly Hills: --- ✅ What Works Well - Stunning, elegant ambiance with a luxurious indoor koi stream and sleek decor. - Famed for its An’s Garlic Noodles and Roasted Crab—signature dishes that live up to the hype. - Creative Vietnamese-French fusion menu with premium ingredients. - Excellent service—professional, knowledgeable, and attentive. - Great for upscale brunch, lunch meetings, or romantic dinners. --- 👎 What to Watch Out For - Very pricey; expect fine-dining level costs. - Limited vegan/vegetarian options. - Popular spot—reservations highly recommended. - Some dishes may lean more toward presentation than bold flavor. --- 🎯 Verdict Crustacean is a Beverly Hills staple for a reason. It blends glamor, unique Asian fusion flavors, and top-tier service into a memorable dining experience—especially for special occasions. Rating: 4.4 / 5 --- Need a brunch recommendation or a lighter dish pick from their menu?
As a Vietnamese guest, I was genuinely impressed by this restaurant’s ability to elevate our traditional street food into a refined, fine dining experience. Each dish was thoughtfully reimagined without losing the bold, authentic flavors I grew up with, especially the spring rolls, which were fresh, flavorful, and artfully presented. The ambiance was just as memorable, elegant and serene, with koi fish swimming beneath the glass floor under the tables, adding a unique touch. The special cocktail our waiter recommended was also outstanding — beautifully balanced and a perfect complement to the meal. 💯 masterpiece, ty Chef
I came here for the first time with my mother, and we had the best time ever. She was in town visiting for Mother’s Day, and I took her to Mother’s Day brunch here. Everything from the decor to the service to the food presentation and the taste was amazing. Even the bathrooms were awesome and super pretty. I couldn’t stop taking pictures with the full body mirror. Everything we tasted it was delicious. some things we ordered were very simple, but it packed a punch and it was well worth the money. my new favorite cocktail is a lychee martini because of them. And the DJ and the music was perfect for the day. We saw a few celebrities and the rest of the clientele were very nice and sweet. It was an overall wonderful experience and I look forward to coming back more often for brunch. we took a lot of photos and will cherish that day forever. My mother truly felt special and I’ve never seen that look on her face before until I took her there. thank you for that memory. As a girly girl, I loved coming to this pretty woman-owned place where they pay attention to detail like me :) there were even fish swimming in the floor, which was a wonderful touch!
Little C at Crustacean is a fantastic pop-up specializing in Vietnamese street food. The food was incredibly fresh and flavorful. We were a party of 3, and all raved about our dishes. Together, we ordered the “Banh Hoi” Tiger Prawns, Chicken “Cha Gio” and Pho. I had the Chicken Pho while my dining partners had the Filet Mignon “Pho Xao Lan.” All agreed it was among the best pho we’ve had. The service was great, and the atmosphere for Little C was fun. I will absolutely be back to try Crustacean. I hope they bring back Little C more often.
Do you wanna see a fish channel under your feet? So fun to walk on the glass, and see the fishes under swimming here, and there in a sort of serious restaurant. It felt like a dream eating here although I had heard a lot before eventually came here. High-end service, good table manners, vivid natural vibe I mean the fish, and all the good reputation. A definitely iconic restaurant in BVH.
Came in without a reservation for a late lunch on Father's Day and we were able to be seated within a few minutes. There was a limited menu for father's day labeled as brunch but it had a wide variety of items. The ube pancake was really good and the sticky ribs were delicious as were the pastrami egg rolls. Pot stickers and noodles were good as well. I'd go back to try their more traditional menu items. The service was excellent and very attractive.
Crustacean Beverly Hills is a dining experience that never disappoints! From the moment you step in, you’re greeted by an elegant and inviting atmosphere that sets the tone for a fantastic meal. The menu offers a stellar selection of dishes, and the An’s Famous Garlic Noodles are an absolute must-try. Every dish is prepared with care and precision, delivering fresh, vibrant flavors that keep you coming back for more. The seafood is always top-notch, and the warm, inviting service makes the meal even more enjoyable. The attention to detail from both the kitchen and the staff is evident, making each visit a memorable one. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just indulging in a great meal, Crustacean continues to exceed expectations. I can’t recommend it enough!
Went to Crustacean in Beverly Hills for lunch to celebrate a birthday, and it nailed it! Started off with the Yin and Yang martinis, which are a must - perfectly balanced and so refreshing. The tuna cigars were my favorite - absolutely incredible and a must-try. Then came the lobster and shrimp dumplings, out of this world with their flavor and perfection. And the crab with noodles? To die for. Plus, the service was fantastic. Can't recommend it enough!
It had been nearly 15 years since I’ve last come here. Things started off a little rocky in the beginning. But the service got better eventually. St a place like this, service should ALWAYS be top tier, especially when we come in spending a 1k for 4 people …..anyway, THE FOOD IS OUT OF THIS WORLD. And they make a KILLER “Smokey” Old fashioned, the right way.
good location of the restaurant. the interior is not beautiful, plastic flowers make your restaurant look cheap and your prices are like in the most expensive restaurant. the snacks were ordinary tasty. the noodles which are considered exclusive were also ordinary. we liked the eggplant and the crab was also tasty. but the price is very expensive. the volume was also normal we were cleaned quickly everything was clean but the waiter forgot to bring my cocktail. this is a good place but it is too expensive. The music above our table was playing very loudly. We asked to turn it down and were ignored.
My family, visiting Beverly Hills for the first time, sought an upscale and memorable brunch experience during a weekday. Making a reservation at this restaurant was a breeze, even during the busy lunch rush hour. The detail-oriented and brilliant five-star wait staff ensured our service was prompt, which we appreciated given the tight schedules of relatives working nearby. Several of us opted for the brunch specials, while I followed the host’s recommendation. The food was beautifully plated and met very high culinary standards, and I particularly enjoyed their coffee, a welcome treat before my 6-hour drive to the Bay Area. However, the brunch offerings didn't quite meet my expectations and seemed to pale in comparison to what I suspected might be available for lunch or dinner. Despite this, the beautiful atmosphere, friendly staff, and seamless service nearly made for a complete five-star experience. I’m quite sure I’d return to try their dinner menu—if I can manage to get a reservation!
We came for a birthday celebration. I hadn't been to this restaurant in years but the service was still impeccable and the food delicious. It's a typical Beverly Hills restaurant so don't expect a lot of food for your dollars. We were all still hungry after the 6 of us spent almost $900!! (Yes. $900!). But again, everything was great. Drinks are tasty and unique but not very strong. Vegan garlic noodles were delicious with the heart of palm crab cake and the beef. Don't know if I'll be going back any time soon unless someone is treating me though. The atmosphere is lovely especially with the open patio area.
Came here for dine LA and it was $45 for the lunch menu with an appetizer, an entree, and a dessert. Location is great…in beautiful Beverly Hills, plenty of parking lots around. I’ve to preface this review to say I’m going to be a tougher critic as an Asian who eats a LOT of Vietnamese food. Got the prawn app, comes with two little prawns and a dipping sauce. Not bad but not amazing. I go the brisket pho as the entree and it reminded me of the instant pho cups you can buy from 99 Ranch. Broth was average, brisket was average, and noodles had a few pieces of still chewy parts. Guess when I eat pho, I want the real deal #1 with everything dumped in my bowl. This was not it. Dessert was some type of fried pineapple with jasmine sorbet?? My date and I did not like this at all. Jasmine was so strong and the pineapple pieces needed to have that sweetness or caramelized form to make it delicious. We did enjoy our mocktails and service. Maybe their regular menu is better?!
As a Vietnamese person, I usually prioritize Vietnamese restaurants when I travel. That’s why I chose Chef An’s restaurant. But to be honest, I was a bit disappointed with the quality of the food. The location is excellent, right in the heart of Beverly Hills. The space is beautiful, romantic, and luxurious. I was impressed by the restaurant’s fish pond and the way it’s decorated with Vietnamese souvenirs. The staff are professional, friendly, and attentive. I understand this is a fusion-style restaurant inspired by some Vietnamese dishes. Therefore, if you’re looking for an authentic, traditional Vietnamese dining experience, you might want to skip this place. Come here with the mindset of a global citizen. The presentation of the dishes is unique and visually appealing. However, the flavors need more research and refinement. I ordered a lychee cocktail. It was a bit too sweet for my taste. It could use a hint of light, refreshing tartness from the lychee. At the moment, the coconut flavor seems to overpower the lychee. I ordered “Bánh khọt” as an appetizer. The crust lacked the signature crispy texture that it should have. My main course was crab noodles. This dish was quite salty for me. Both the crab and noodles were over-seasoned. I hope the chef can tone down the seasoning to better highlight the natural flavors of the ingredients. Note that you need to choose and order the noodles, protein, and vegetables separately from the menu. If not, you’ll end up with a simple Italian-style garlic noodle dish. The dessert, panna cotta, was decent. The prices are relatively expensive for the quality of the food.
Checked out Crustacean for the first time specifically for Little C Pop-Up by Chef John. Chef John’s thoughtful creativity; use of fresh ingredients; and exquisite plating were on point. Our only minor complaint was the oiliness of Banh Xeo, which Chef John immediately addressed and even offered to remake them for us. My husband & I had a lovely chat with Chef John and we were thoroughly impressed by him. Looking fwd to stalking his culinary career and what he gets up to next. Unfortunately, our lunch dining experience and interactions with Crustacean staff, including Chef Helene An, were subpar. 2 different servers asked what we thought but were taken aback by our less-than-glowing response. When I mentioned that the dipping sauce for DIY Goi Cuon was too oily for our liking, he said “that’s the first time we’ve heard that feedback”. Chef Helene An approached our table but immediately talked over me saying “thank you for visiting our restaurant”, while bowing slightly and walking backwards away from our table. My husband & I were left feeling confused by the dichotomy: asking us for our dining experience versus not being open to hearing our honest feedback. Having lived in LA for over 2 decades and knowing how lucky Angelenos are with this City’s diverse cuisine options, I don’t feel the need to spend our money here at Crustacean. My husband & I are in agreement. We will wait for Chef John’s restaurant and enjoy his delicious creations then.
Fancy ambiance and location, and a good place to celebrate something, but be ready to pay up. We got some dim sum, the orange chicken, the garlic noodles and crab, as well as the tuna cigars. Everything was good, but not mind-blowing and you can definitely find as good for much cheaper. Drinks were fun and interesting. A lot of it was clearly for the show and social media Service was mostly on point, but we were sat down and promptly ignored for 15 minutes even though there weren't that many other parties
Unfortunately for such a highly known place, with a high price point, it fell short of our expectations. The service was really rocky at the beginning- it took then 40 minutes from when we sat down to come back and take our dinner order. When the food came out, compared to other fine dining restaurants, the food was *plopped* down all at once with no explanation. The portions were small, and the food rather flavorless. We felt like we were chasing down our waitress or anyone to check on us for drinks etc. with so many amazing options in LA, we won’t be returning
We are here from the 1990s, 2000s. The food is cooked by Miss Ans at the time. We are here today. The foods we order 6 items, especially the crap out of shell, the taste is like a regular chinese seafood restaurant, all the fry rice is so salty and oily. We are very disappointed it. The food is not cooked by her anymore. I don't recommend spending your $$$ here. You can try it and give me the truth comments afterward.
Outrageously priced for terrible food, sorry to say. This beautiful restaurant that has been in business for over two decades and has good reviews by some, it was a failure in my opinion. Loved the atmosphere (floor designed aquarium, beautiful color theme…). Tastefully designed setting, with great service. However that where the positive features end. The waiter was explaining various options on the menu, and one of them that caught our attention was, “multi generation secret recipe” part. Naturally, we decided to try this secret. The fried rice was bland devoid of any Asian spices, the noodles were lacking the flavor one would expect of any Asian dish. The fried eggplants were okay. The crab was definitely overrated. No soups on the menu (soup options are always good idea, especially when the weather is still cold). The vanilla ice cream was melting upon arrival and the coconut flavor was left out of the coconut ice cream. Not worth $750 for party of four.
My husband made the reservation well in advance and, as required for Valentine’s Day, we paid the deposit. We completely understand that deposits are standard for holiday bookings; however, we are still waiting for it to be processed or properly applied. Despite multiple phone calls and messages, we have yet to receive any response or acknowledgment. Given the amount we spent that evening, the food was deeply underwhelming. The dishes were dry, lacked flavor, and simply did not reflect the caliber this restaurant presents itself to be. At that price point, we expected a memorable dining experience — not a meal we could have easily surpassed at home. As a long-standing staple in the community, we were genuinely excited to return after nearly a decade. It’s incredibly disappointing that the experience left us feeling unheard and dissatisfied. Unfortunately, we will not be returning.
I am not happy with Crustaceans any longer. I dont know what happened but it is not the high-end restaurant it use to be. Me and my family went here for our anniversary and the service was mediocre, you are constantly bating flies over your food and the flies in the hall and in the bathroom is ridiculous! I know they are in the kitchen. They blamed it on being a simi-outdoor restaurant but Ive been to many outdoor restaurants and they did not have a gnat/fly infestation all over the restaurant! They give you a fan for your table but that don't stop the gnats! The food was dry and clearly not made fresh. Because a lot of the items are popular it seems they make a bunch and let it sit. The food is very high and they give you very little. I cant believe we paid almost 300 dollars for this. They gave us some Jasmine sorbet and it tasted like cough medicine. It was so disgusting. I wont be returning here again
