I have a love affair with this restaurant. It feels like you are at a resort on an island. You are surrounded by sand and beautiful plants. It has a warm and tropical vibe. The food is delicious and beautiful. Whether you are a meat lover, pescatarian or vegan, they have options for everyone. I love that about this place. The owner is extremely nice and cool. Francisco was our server and he was the sweetest. He was very professional and kind. He laid out the red carpet for us and made us feel famous. Their drinks are beyond good. With great cocktails & mocktail options. They serve cocktail drinks to go so we took a few home. I highly recommend this place. It’s one of my favorite restaurants and I am a forever customer.
Tu Madre in WeHo was such a vibe 🌮✨ we got the Strawberry Dream with vodka (obsessed), the birria nachos, KBBQ tacos, and the fried chicken taco — and honestly everything was so good. The flavors were bold and fun, and nothing felt basic. The drinks were definitely the standout though. The Strawberry Dream was sooo good — refreshing, pretty, and dangerous in the best way 🍓🍸 On top of that, the service was amazing. Super attentive and friendly, which just makes the whole experience better. The ambience and aesthetic are everythinggg — cute, vibey, perfect for a girls night or date night. Definitely a WeHo staple. Would go back for the drinks alone.
Stopped in for dinner. I started with their Horchata. It was creamy, cinnamon forward, and not watered down at all. Really good. For the appetizer, I had the Potato Tacos. Now these look more like fried burritos but delicious nonetheless. The shells come crispy and the filling is smooth and seasoned well. They top it with queso panela, salsa macha butter, and chives. Light but still flavorful. For the main, I went with the Carne Asada Bowl. The steak has that house marinated flavor and the bowl is layered with black beans, street corn relish, crispy onions, pico de gallo, queso fresco, avocado tomatillo salsa, and their citrus ponzu. Every bite had something going on and the textures worked together. Especially with some of their house salsas in there. The vibe is relaxed and the service was friendly throughout. Solid dinner spot in WeHo and worth a visit.
What a wonderful experience. Food is elevated and good price point. The service friendly and efficient. The location and patio is so relaxing, you forget the hustle and bustle a block away
I went here on Thursday afternoon with my girlfriend, and I have to say that I’m happy that we made the drive across town to try it out. Everything was really good. We ordered: KBBQ Braised Beef Street Taco, Chicken Al Pastor Street Taco, Brisket Street Taco, Carne Asada Taco, Pastrami Taco, Crispy Shrimp Taco, Crispy Fish Taco, Ahi Tuna Taco, Two Mango Chamoy Slushies, & a Vegan Spicy Jackfruit Carnitas Taco. Everything was so delicious. Our favorites were the pastrami taco(there’s a runny egg in it omg), the crispy shrimp taco (salty&sweet), the ahi tuna taco (which is more of a tostada), and the jackfruit carnitas. That jackfruit taco was surprisingly good. I’m certain that this is one of those places where you can order anything and it’ll be good. As an LA native, this might be the only place in LA where I’ll pay $8 for a taco and be completely fine with it lol. It was THAT good. They also have a happy hour from 3pm-6pm Monday through Friday that I must investigate further. They had a few drinks on there that looked good, but we only tried the Mango Chamoy Slushie this time. I highly, highly recommend. I’ll definitely be back to explore the menu more!
Fantastic neighborhood spot! Stopped in on a sunny Friday afternoon and the vibe was perfect. Great crowd, but the service was what really stood out—attentive and friendly. The food is incredibly flavorful. I highly recommend the KBBQ taco and the Chicken Banh Mi bowl. A great perk: they start you off with excellent house-made chips and salsa. Top-tier experience, and I’ll definitely be back
This is where I came with the girls, but if a date brought me here I’d be swept off my feet!!! Tu Madre feels like a vacation without ever leaving LA. Sand under your feet, big tropical plants swaying around you, and that effortless Mexican-resort energy that makes time slow down. The food is bold, beautiful, and meant to be shared. The cocktails flirt back. The vibe is carefree and sun-kissed—perfect for loud laughs with your girlfriends or an intimate night where you lean in a little closer. Shoutout to Francisco, our server—charming, helpful, and a total standout. And yes… we loved it so much we took canned margaritas home. Girls’ lunch approved. Date night fantasy unlocked. 💅🔥 #TuMadre #VacationVibes #GirlsLunchEnergy #DateNightGoals #WestHollywood
Tu Madre definitely has a vibe! It combines bold flavors, great music, and unforgettable vibes. The place is vibrant and has an amazing ambiance. They have an enormous terrace. The menu reimagines Mexican classics with inventive twists. Their menus are diverse. It offers a wide range of dishes that are not available at your neighborhood taqueria. Everything we ordered was fresh, tasty, and well-seasoned, and it's a distinctive take on the typical taco and burrito menu. They have a fantastic bar and a fantastic assortment of cocktails. With their unique ingredient combinations, each dish was incredibly tasty! The braised beef and potato taquitos are my favorite. It was very tasty and of excellent quality. Whether it's a date night, a birthday, a group celebration, or simply a reason to treat yourself, this venue sets the tone for a good time. I definitely recommend it.
Had an amazing lunch experience! The food came out so quickly and was delicious. Jose was an amazing server & very hospitable. I will be returning soon! Try the potato taqueria thank me later
Loved the outdoor seating and ambience at this Weho location. As a al fresco dining fan, but also occasional chilly girly, I really appreciated the multiple outdoor heating lamps which made outdoor dining feasible. Bonus points for the Fornasetti wallpaper in the bathroom. On a Sunday night, I was able to score metered street parking right across from the restaurant. What we ordered for the table: 1. Because I've visited the other Tu Madre in SM as well as their sister restaurant Guac Daddy, I knew that their pollo al pastor would shine. And indeed, the pollo al pastor quesadilla wowed everybody at the table. Flavorful and accompanied by a variety of dipping sauces, the quesadilla also contained just the perfect amount of crispy cheese. 2. The carne asada is also another favorite. We got the carne asada burrito, which was generously portioned. 3. Fried avocado taco - I was admittedly a bit skeptical to try this at first, but it was delicious. Sweet and sour, crunchy and creamy. The combination of flavors and textures was delightful. 4. Squash flower quesadilla - I've ordered this before at the SM location, and it was equally as delicious in Weho. 5. Street corn - just a tad bland, in my opinion as a saucy girly, and could've used more mayonnaise, cheese, and seasoning. But not unpleasant. Would try a different side next time. Good thing chips and salsa are served for free! Quick and courteous service. Will be back when in the mood for a little upscale Mexican with vibey al fresco dining next time! Ig: @dawntc
I had a great time at Tu Madre! The food was fresh and full of flavor, and the ambiance had a fun, vibrant energy that really stood out. The staff who were there were super friendly and did their best to keep everything moving. It did look like they could’ve used a bit more help on the floor, but everyone working handled it really well and still made sure guests were taken care of. I’m Cisco from Ciscos Media and @ciscoscollection on Instagram — I review restaurants and lifestyle spots around LA, and this place is definitely one I’d come back to. Worth checking out if you’re in West Hollywood!
I stopped by Tu Madre in West Hollywood and was honestly impressed from the first bite. The Ahi Tuna Bowl ended up being my favorite — the tuna tasted really fresh and the mix of ponzu, crispy toppings, and turmeric rice made every bite super flavorful. I also tried a few of their street tacos, which are $3.50 each, and they were all delicious in their own way. The Chicken Al Pastor had a great marinade and a nice little kick, the KBBQ Braised Beef was tender with that sweet Korean BBQ flavor, and the Brisket taco was simple but packed with juicy brisket. I couldn’t resist trying the Chicken Banh Mi Burrito and it was such a fun twist crunchy, savory, a little tangy, and really well balanced. The guac and chips were the perfect starter, super fresh with crispy house-made chips. Overall, Tu Madre has creative flavors, great pricing, and a really fun menu. Definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area! 🌮
It’s Taco Tuesday in West Hollywood, so you know we had to pull up Tu Madre 🌮🔥✨ First things first — the boozy slushies are a whole vibe. The Sandia Lychee is icy, refreshing, and fruity without being too sweet, and the Mamma Paloma is perfectly tart and citrusy, made with their in-house liquor for that extra kick. Trust me, these slushies are dangerously easy to sip. For tacos, we went all in: 🌮 KBBQ Braised Beef Street Taco – tender, savory, and packed with flavor. 🌮 Sweet & Sour Chicken Taco – crispy chicken with that tangy-glazed finish. 🌮 KBBQ Taco – bold, saucy, and loaded with umami. 🌮 Crispy Shrimp Taco – crunchy, juicy shrimp with fresh toppings to balance it out. We also had their Potato Taquitos, which were golden, crunchy, and nostalgic in the best way — and the Mini Squash Blossom Quesadilla, melty and delicate with that rich floral flavor you only get from squash blossoms. If your Taco Tuesday needs an upgrade, this is the spot🌮💖🍹
We had the best time. Everyone loved their dishes, the KBBQ taco was the subject of conversation for another 2 hours after we left 🤣 All of the wait staff were UNREAL attentive, so patient with us (we took forever to figure out what to order), the food & cucumber caliente cocktail was 10/10 stars. Potato Taquitos as an appetizer is a non negotiable. Love it there so much & cannot wait to return!
Tu Madre West Hollywood is easily one of my new favorite taco spots in LA. We went hard and tried almost the whole menu; standouts were the Crispy Shrimp Taco (insane crunch + umami punch) and the Crispy Fish Taco (perfectly fried, flaky inside, gone in two bites). The Korean BBQ Beef and Grilled Chicken street tacos were great too, but the crispy ones are next-level. Don’t sleep on dessert; the Red Velvet Churros with cream cheese frosting dip are an absolute must. Warm, cinnamony, ridiculous in the best way. Outdoor patio is super chill, great music, heaters when it gets cool, and the vibe is just easy and fun. Service was fast and friendly even though we ordered a mountain of food. Already planning the next trip back!
I visited Tu Madre with my daughter for her birthday lunch, and we had an amazing time. My mom came along as well, and all three of us were impressed from the moment we arrived. The atmosphere was beautiful, with music that added the perfect touch without being too loud. The food was outstanding — fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The drinks were incredible too. The margarita flight was our favorite and each one tasted amazing. We enjoyed every part of our visit. I highly recommend Tu Madre and will absolutely return. Great place, great food, and great vibes all around!
We loved Tu Madre. We had reservations, but we made them incorrectly for the Santa Monica location instead of West Hollywood. They were able to assist us and seated us without much delay. The manager also took care of the Santa Monica reservation so they wouldn't charge us a no-show fee. We ordered a quesadilla appetizer for 2 of the kids to share, and a potato taquito appetizer for another. The 4 potato taquitos were actually 2 halves of a baked potato rolled in a tortilla and fried until crispy. It came with a delicious mild-medium spicy sauce. We also ordered tortilla chips and guacamole and a bowl of street corn with butter and elote seasoning. The corn was sweet and out of this world! I had a cauliflower rajas burrito with poblanos, corn, onion, crispy cheese, salsa roja, turmeric brown rice, mozzarella cheese, poblano ranch slaw in a spinach tortilla. It's also available in a flour tortilla. The menu called it a "Veggie-centric satisfaction that brings the heat and the sweet". The cauliflower was perfectly al dente and not mushy. I loved it and highly recommend it. My wife had the vegan banh mi bowl, described as 36-hour marinated tofu, crispy kale, pickled carrot, avocado, crispy onion, house ponzu 'Vegan Vietnamese-fusion that brings the crunch". She loved it. I don't think you can go wrong with anything you order at Tu Madre. I highly recommend it.
Tu Madre in West Hollywood is a gem and one of those restaurants you cannot help but recommend to friends. The atmosphere is fun and welcoming, with a lively energy that makes it perfect for a night out with friends or even a casual date. The tacos here are what set the place apart. These are not ordinary tacos. They are specialty street tacos with bold and creative flavors. Some of the favorites include the crispy fried chicken tacos with a spicy agave glaze and poblano ranch slaw, ahi tuna tacos with citrus ponzu and sesame accents, Korean BBQ tacos layered with kimchi and Fresno chili heat, and the unforgettable pastrami taco topped with fried egg, chipotle aioli, and queso panela. Each taco feels like its own adventure and the quality of the ingredients shines through in every bite. The cocktail program is just as strong as the food. Mezcal and tequila take center stage, but the bar team gets playful with unexpected combinations. Drinks like the spicy mezcal ginger pineapple cocktail or a creative twist on the classic Paloma with sparkling rosé are balanced, refreshing, and a perfect match to the food. A big part of what makes the place so special is the team. Don is truly the host with the most, making everyone feel welcome the moment they arrive. And do not mistake the person running around helping with tables for a busboy. That is Chef Domingo, who cares so much about the restaurant that when he is not in the kitchen he is out making sure every guest is taken care of. Two Madre has the kind of food, service, and energy that makes it a standout in West Hollywood. Delicious tacos, excellent cocktails, and an atmosphere that never fails to deliver. Highly recommend.
Tu Madre’s happy hour is seriously one of the best deals around! $10 margaritas? Yes, please. The chips and salsa are super fresh, the potato taquitos are next level, and the street tacos are the perfect size—and at around $1.50 each, how can you not?! Everything is flavorful, satisfying, and such a steal. Great vibes, great food, and an unbeatable happy hour. Run, don’t walk!
Great aesthetics. Terrible service. At first, it wasn't too bad...we got seated right away, they brought us water, chips and salsa. But then we received the wrong order, got the wrong check, never got more water and had to flag down servers for everything. There was also an annoying and unnecessary influencer-type photo shoot happening (a couple just popping around to different seats to take pictures). To top off off the food was just okay and the guac was sadly bland 😭
I enjoyed my last experience here, which is why I decided to come back yesterday. Unfortunately, this visit was the complete opposite. We walked in around 6pm and waited about 15 minutes for a table, even though the restaurant only had three tables filled. The host was pleasant, but once she began serving, things quickly went downhill. I ordered the same items as last time, but the food was completely off—the flavor was nothing like before and honestly not good. To make matters worse, there were flies everywhere. My friend and I spent the whole meal swatting them away, which was both annoying and unsanitary. At this point, investing in citronella candles or something to keep bugs away would make a huge difference. Service was equally frustrating. Our food arrived, and halfway through eating I realized we still didn’t have our drinks. Other tables that were seated after us received theirs before we did. Once we were finished, I had to wait about 20 minutes just to get a to-go container and the check. Meanwhile, our dirty plates were never cleared, even though the restaurant wasn’t busy. The entire experience was horrific. We spent $96 and left angry and disappointed. I ended up giving the food to a homeless person so it wouldn’t go to waste. The manager did stop by to ask if everything was okay, but with so many staff standing around and other guests nearby, I didn’t feel comfortable explaining everything—I just wanted to leave. Honestly, this was such a waste of money and time. Messed-up food orders, delayed drinks, poor service, and flies all over the place—it was gross. I won’t be coming back.
