What a find!!! I've stayed at this hotel a few times and never tried the restaurant. OMG! Food is delicious! Awesome drinks! Service amazing! Indoor, outdoor, bar. There was a wedding reception here it looked so nice!
My wife and I had great breakfast at the Nottingham restaurant. Her eggs Florentine and my French toast combo were tasty. Plenty of coffee refills and attention from the friendly host and the server. Highly recommend!
First time visiting. Went on a Thursday afternoon at 330pm. My kiddo was craving cheeseburger so we opted for this restaurant. The fact that they had hot cocoa on the menu when we went, she was ecstatic 🤩! The cheeseburger was from the big menu & when it came out, she said it was delicious! Out hostess was super friendly and helpful. She helped me pick out a local beer and topped the rim with salt and tajin. The customer service was absolutely top notch for me & I rarely say that. I will definitely return.
Super cool place to check out for breakfast. It’s crazy not a lot of people come here when the other places have insane waiting times! This place is quiet, prices are great, staff is wonderful, fast service, and great food. What’s up with people??? Of course I’m coming back here the next time I’m in Big Bear 🐻 ✨🐻✨
Compared to Santana Mavericks earlier today for lunch, this place was a completely positive 180. Luz our temp hostess saw us right when we walked in and were led to our seats outside within 20 seconds. Immediately took our drink orders, returned within 3 minutes and took our appetizer orders. Soup came out in less than 10 minutes and very hot. Puff pastry on the French onion soup was excellent, as well as the soup itself. My date got the chicken tortilla soup, not my thing, but she loved it. Both soups were a very decent sized portion as well. Weren't too hungry after that. She ordered the Buffalo wings which come dry with Buffalo and ranch sauce separate on the side. Some may complain about this, but this means they are crispy every single bite you take. I had the pulled pork sandwich. Sauce was a little lighter red which concerned me, but the taste did not. The fries I received with the were thin and honestly had a nice crisp on the outside to them but still chewy on the inside with a light coating of salt and pepper. Took less than 20 minutes to receive every single but of our meal. No lapses in service and waters stayed filled. LUZ our waitress was absolutely on point. Beyond excellent service and super courteous which is not a common thing whatsoever. Definitely will return here one day and recommend whoever may be reading this small narrative... To do so as well. To whatever responsible manager is reading this, give Luz a raise.
Interesting old mountain lodge style decoration. We booked our table weeks ago, but disappointingly, they seated us at the bar areas because the group who had our table didn’t finish their meal and leave on time. So, the service and the seating area were of bar style. The bartender did her best to attend to us. But it’s just nice as nice as proper dining area. Food some good some bad. My son lived the turkey special from the Thanksgiving menu. My salmon with balsamic rice was OK. Large portions here.
Solid place for lunch. The California Sandwich, with turkey on a croissant was delicious. Great balance of bread to meat. The red pepper bisque was brilliant. A splendid bite with flavors that really went well together. The patty melt was great! I added bacon and avocado. And the onion rings were all perfectly crispy. The place was a bit slow, as was the service. The bartender was also a delight. I want to go back for their breakfast offerings... otherwise this would be a one-and-done as nothing stood out to really bring me back.
The drinks were great and the service was good, but the food was just okay. The flat bread pizza was good, but it definitely could have used some sauce. My husband's steak was at least 20 % grizzle. The Jasmine rice was a cylindrical blob of mush with a drizzle of balsamic on top. We saw others getting burgers and they looked great. I would like to go back and try breakfast. It could have been an off night. The staff is courteous and helpful and we didn't have to wait long for service. The ambiance was great. They have indoor and outdoor seating and an area at the bar for dining. It has a rustic and antique decor. I am interested in staying at the lodge on our next visit. Overall it was a nice experience.
My family and I came here because we continuously passed by, and it was always busy. Especially with the advertisement of best burgers in town. Well, I had the Notti burger. The patty was overcooked to my liking. It wasn't cooked medium rare. I did put ketchup and mustard to juice it up. The onion was sitting more to one side. It looked like it was cut and just placed on the edge, and the same was the avocado sitting in the center six slices. The applewood smoked bacon and cheddar cheese was good. We also ordered the bacon & bleu burger. The bleu cheese crumbles were nice and chunky and have excellent flavors. The burger was not cooked to be a medium rare, so it was dry, which was very disappointing because we like a juicy burger. My daughter's mostaccioli marinara was good and very cheesy. I'm really surprised at how big the portion is (it does not come with a side because of how big it is). If you do order a side, make sure you eat some, too. We did order a side of broccoli, and it was delicious. It was very buttery to our liking. Service: There's two people who stand out. Our server, Charli, was amazing and very fun. She kept a smile whenever she came to our table. She is a reason we would be back. While we were waiting, we noticed two little games at the front by the hostess stand. We didn't have cash on hand and asked the bartender if they did cash back. Before we could finish asking, she chimed in without even turning around over her shoulder in the snarkiest, rudest way. "We can't give cash back." You can run my card for a beer and tip, but you can't give cash. You can be rude to me, but to be rude and crush my daughter's hopes as she stands in front of you. Atmosphere: We loved the feel and ambiance of the restaurant part of it. The inside signage was great to look at, and I felt very comfortable. It gave the old, homely feel, it felt very woodsy and welcoming. The patio looked great, and it says pet friendly online, which is great. Overall: I give 3 stars because the server, Charli, was great. She had a great attitude and was very friendly towards my daughter. She had a great sense of humor. She also, as a side note, is very creative in her drawing.
There's a sign at the entrance, it says you should wait to be seated... we just didn't know how long haha nobody came to asign us a table despite the place was 1/3 full... we entered after a while looking for someone who can help us and this rude girl behind the bar told us to sit at any table 🤷♀️ After that all was good: our waitress was nice, the food was good (potato chips were the best part... they were supposedto be french fries, but no complaints here)... my pepsi tasted funny. The lunch menu is limited, but I guess is ok, we were too tired and hungry hahaha it seems to be more options that the breakfast.
Waited an hour for a warm, unseasoned, slightly sour prime rib. Though the waitresses attitude was nice, it took 30 minutes for waters. Wouldn't come again.
To start the water glass I got had a subtle lip stain from someone else drinking from it (first flag). Then my cappuccino arrived and thank goodness I was not alone because the person I was with noticed there was a lipstick stain on the mug (faced away from me so I didnt notice it). Then the food came out. Croissant was very dry. Steak was not flavorful and not cooked medium how I requested it to be. Eggs were fairly watery. We came because of the good rating so it's a bummer we left most of our food feeling grossed out by this place. This is just my experience but definitely would never imagine this place was over 4 star rating. Definitely more suitable for a 3 star, and thats being kind only because the waitress offered a free drink (which did not accept losing trust in their cleanliness)
Very disappointing! I ordered a pesto chicken breast sandwich fir $17. The chicken breast was only 1/4 inch thick! I honestly thought it was a mistake and was served a sliced deli sandwhich. To make matters worse, it was loaded with so many onions that I couldn't even taste pesto. (There were more onions than chicken!). After being served, we never saw the waitress again. I finally went to the bar to see if I could change my order for something else. I explained my dissatisfaction with the sandwhich. She stated, "I eat it 3x a week. It's My favorite!". I gave up and just ate the French fries. After the music ended and everyone was leaving we waited for a check, but no one came. I had to go back to the bar again to ask for a check. By then I was pretty unhappy and said I'd like the check for just our 2 drinks as the food was awful. Instead, 20 mins later, the manager came and said since I ate the fries and 3 bites of the sandwich that the " best they could do was 15% off" So, $14.50 for fries and 3 bites of an onion sandwich! She never offered an apology, rather told me how her chef said it was prepared correctly. She made it clear that it was far more important to defend their food then care about customers. There are so many other choices with great food and superior service in Big Bear. Do your stomach a favor and try somewhere else. The stars are only for the great music.
We've had a reservation for a week, the restaurant was empty except for one other table but the servers told us they could "fit us in". We placed our drink orders. I ordered a winter moscow mule, Brandon came back a few minutes later to reconfirm my order, yet still I was served the wrong drink. This was not the only incorrect order received. More than one of us had asked for no tomato on our orders but were given it anyway. I had also asked for pickles on my sandwich and ranch with my fries and had received neither. We had a group of six but because of allergies only five of us actually ordered anything; regardless they tried charging the 18% gratuity that they tack on for 6+ people. When they asked us if we were ready for the check, we said yes and asked if it could be split by everyone's orders to which our waiter (Brandon) responded that was not possible. He claimed there was no manager present. He also claimed he had asked us in the beginning if we were okay with being billed all together, though no one in the group recalls hearing him or answering his question. He also claimed it was impossible to take off the gratuity charge, though when we pressed him again he suddenly was able to remove it. My friends and I were excited to celebrate a birthday at this restaurant, but between the unimpressive food, disappointing service, and spotify ads; I can't say this is a place any of us will be revisiting or recommending.
Server Brandon was bad, he kept making jokes in the begging so we were ok kinda going with the flow, however we asked for separate check in the begging once we all order and we mention who's food was going to be on the first check he said ohh you wanted separate checks and said it's better if all food is in one check..so when we said yes separate..Brandon crumble the order he took throw it on the floor and said ok we are starting over.. He made a remarks to my daughter asking how old she was and when she ignored him he said she's mad huh.. At this time we should had left but it was my husband 50th birthday and were trying to have a good time and thought maybe we are just hungry and taking things overboard. We'll our food gets to our table 1 hour later and very small portion simi cold and water down drinks with alot of ice.. my pasta could not tell if it was a soup or pasta very bad taste so we were still positive and said live and learn lets just leave a review for the next family who wants to come here. Once we asked for the checks Brandon gave himself a 18%tip on every check.. mine was a tip of $32.80 wow.. I blow up.. I told him I wanted to talk to the manager and he brought me out the dishwasher who only spoke spanish. Don't go here.. we spent over $300 for horrible service and food..Will NOT come back to this place. NOTtinghams
Where should I start!? When we arrived there was a couple having there drinks and ordering. Other then that it was only us. Waitress took our order. She had a very positive and happy attitude. Once our meal arrived it was downhill from there. We order fried pickle and artichoke and spinash dip. Big chunks of artichoke and spinash no cheese at all. Very dry. It was HORRIBLE!!! My husband ordered the filet mignon RARE with a baked potato and Brussels sprouts. When she brought the order the steak was over cook and the bacon wrapped around it was raw!! The food was flavorless!! My Notti burger was dry and the bacon was old! Terrible food! Never again. I don't recommend this place at all! At the end my husband had to go find our waitress because we were forgotten. $98 down the drain! Just a terrible experience. The only thing nice was the weather. Father's day weekend it was almost empty should of seen the red flag or read the reviews!
