If you have never visited the Whole in the Wall in Binghamton, NY, you are missing a very rare jem. Eliot Fiks is the best chef. Make a reservation. You won't be disappointed.

A favorite location for delicious health food. Service is always awesome even when they have a full house. The service was friendly and sociable. The bill was appropriate for the quality. They have a lot of great reviews for a reason.

As a Binghamton alum, I miss the down to earth and delicious foods served at Whole in the Wall. I recently went back to visit and Whole in the Wall was my first stop. Similar to the experience of "shopping while hungry" I was excited to get some frozen and packaged foods to take back, I ended up spending TONS of money, and told myself later that I was a nostalgic fool for doing so. Oh was I so wrong! Last week I had the worst cold, and couldn't cook. Looking in my freezer, I dug out the wonderful soups I brought in my Whole in the Wall frenzy. YES! Fresh, homemade, delicious, just what I needed. Will certainly be ordering delivery across state lines soon!

Super adorable place — with a lot of vegetarian and vegan options. The vegan chili is to die for! And many of their wraps and platters are vegan friendly and very, very tasty. They have to go case full of pestos and other dips - many of which are also vegan! Kind wait staff. Cute art on the from local artists. And a piano set up in the middle of one wall — upon which a talented young girl bravely played several christmas songs during my last visit. (your experience may vary 😜). Very welcoming and home-y place.

There aren't many places in Binghamton that cater to vegans or zero wasters. This place is so cute, the food is all so good, the staff is all incredibly kind and considerate, and you won't feel like you're asking to much if you want to know stuff that would be ridiculous in most restaurants (do you use chicken stock in your soups... Does your coleslaw come in a plastic cup...) After my meal they took my reusable container and filled it up with some vegan chili to go and I couldn't have been happier.

D
Doug Osgood

Their menu contains a good selection of high quality organic/health meals, entrées and desserts. There are also many vegetarian/vegan options. The pesto they sell is very very good. They have a wide selection of these pestos available for purchase, I believe they may also be purchased in variety packs. They also have live music from time to time.

Variety of food here that satisfies anyone and everyone. Homemade. From vegan to carnivore. You can eat here without cheating on your diet or sacrificing flavor. Quaint atmosphere. The kind of place you would expect to find in Cape May or The Villiage. A wonderful surprise in upstate NY.

The staff is super friendly! The food is delicious, especially the mushroom soup. Plenty of vegetarian options. Wasn't my first time and definitely won't be my last!

Great place to enjoy a true farm-to-table experience upstate. Highly recommend their lasagna and mushroom soup. It makes for a convenient stop on the drive from Western NY to NYC/New Jersey.

Been going here since before I can remember, which is over 30 years. Elliott has maintained a high standard of quality. Things may seem a little slow, but the time is spent ensuring you get the best meal you can.

Fantastic service, by far my favorite waitress locally (her name was Kristina). Food was pretty good, desert was a little rough though the service made it 5 stars regardless. Maybe stick to just the main?

This restaurant is a hidden gem. The food is incredible and it feels like home when you’re dining there. Be sure to grab some of their pesto to go as well. You will not be disappointed!

Eliot and Adriana serve up delicious fresh cooked gourmet by reservation only Friday and Saturday nights. It’s a down home, boho vibe. The wall attests to multiple famous patrons of the past. We felt taken care of in a very personal way. Eliot was even willing to accommodate my multiple COVID induced food allergies. Really a treasure on Binghamton’s south side.

Really cute place with friendly staff. They make a mean quiche, honestly one of the best I've ever eaten. Highly encourage their pesto too. All their food is made from local ingredients which is really nice. Only open a few days a week but if you have availability it's worth every minute.

K

Don't expect to walk in because Eliot is server and chef, but if you're patient he will make it work. He makes everything from scratch and it's healthy and delicious.

Last I visited Whole in the Wall a quaint vegan experience in the Southside neighborhood of Binghamton. I had a great time! with wondeful savory food in a rustic simple atmosphere. There was music that day, and the staff was polite. All dishes are homemade and each jas it's own unique flavor. I highly recommend trying them out for wholesome delight meals. I believe they offer takeout and delivery via doordash.

L
Lori Metzger

We stumbled across this place while on vacation this summer. The food was delicious! We even bought some of their pesto products to take home with us. We were also entertained by some other patrons who took turns playing the restaurant's piano! Highly recommended if you're traveling through Binghamton. .

I've been eating at Whole in the Wall for 40 years. The quality of the meals prepared there as well as the creative use of foods and spices make Whole in the Wall deliciously unique. I'll see you soon!

The one place that can satisfy everyone, carnivore, gluten free, vegan, vegetarian... No matter they have superb dishes to suit every taste. My brother and I got the mushroom soup, garlic ball, Mideast platter, chichen and enchilada. All excellent. I understand that not ordering the mushroom soup is considered a crime in some quarters...

A
Alex Brown

Great place to eat, delicious food and friendly staff. The menu has a wide variety of options to accommodate vegan, dairy and gluten free diets. Just ask for Elliot the cook and he will be more than happy to talk about his upbringing and the story behind the restaurant and the food. Strongly recommend this place for anyone in the area.

Incredibly delicious food. Highly recommend it. Maybe 50% bigger portion would be a welcome change but otherwise definitely a place that’s worth visiting.

I absolutely adore Whole in the Wall! Eliot, the owner, is a culinary expert and am so happy I'm able to live close enough to try his newest creations and lasting favorites! I had the Gumbo the last time I visited and it was one of the top Gumbos I've ever had -- and that's saying something since I lived in Baton Rouge, Louisiana (an hour from New Orleans) for 6 years, where I had Gumbo at least once a week when I lived there! So thanks Eliot for allowing me to truly enjoy something I miss a lot! One last thing I want to say is that if you ever go to Whole in the Wall when they have Pierogi Lasagna on special-- get it! It's my favorite dish there but only available a couple times a year! Can't wait for when they have it again!! In all, Whole in the Wall is a hidden gem and they are a great dining experience that anyone who lives in or visits the Binghamton needs to visit!! 😁😁😁😁😁

I was driving across the country and looking for something healthy and delicious when passing through Binghamton. I couldn't believe how lucky I was to find this restaurant! I was treated so well and made to feel so welcome in this charming Whole in the Wall. I could not have asked for a fresher meal, more attentive service or a more tasty/ delicious lunch. What a find! I felt transported in time, back to when people really cared about the quality of the food they serve.

I live out of the area now, but when I get back in town, one of my favorite spots to visit is the Whole in the Wall! I used to come regularly 20 years ago before I moved and the food is just as good now as back then. First, it is an experience. Just two owners running the show, so expect to relax and enjoy your meal and company. Or come by yourself with a book! I always bookend my meal with the Garlic Ball and the Raspberry Brownie. I order the Garlic Ball almost before sitting down! It is pure butter and garlic bliss. Then I like the cheesy chicken bake (which I recommended to my friend) or one of seafood dishes. Sorry, we devoured the food before taking pics, but got the sidewalk view when leaving. I love the food and the atmosphere and always leave calmer and happier than when I arrived.

I had the Chicken Stir Fry and my girlfriend had the famous Enchilada. Everything was so flavorful and most importantly, fresh! The wait for the food wasn’t as long as I expected; however, you can tell that the chef/owner puts a lot of care and effort into each meal! We came here wanting to take a break from all the restaurants in downtown Binghamton and it is by far, one of the best restaurants in the area! It has a cozy vibe as well that felt very homey and welcoming. I cannot get over the food though! Everything just tasted so delicious and fresh! And the owner and his wife were so kind. If you’re ever in Binghamton, this is definitely a place to stop and eat!

Whole in the Wall is a fantastic, cozy, delicious little spot in Binghamton on the South Side, 42 years of farm to table & great service!!! Atmosphere is adorable and homey. Elliot is amazing and has been there the entire time, there is so much history here and the menu is outstanding. Elliot took the time to speak to us and get to know us. Showed us the restaurant scrapbook of memories, which is located near the front counter! GET THE GARLIC BALL! The menu even says it’s “insanely good” and it most certainly is. I recommend each person who wants one getting their own… it’s that good. Mushroom soup was great! Many meatless options. Their pesto has won awards, buy some to take home, you won’t regret it. Whole in the Wall is an Upstate NY gem!

Whole in the Wall is still the healthiest, most unique, relaxed fantastic restaurant in Binghamton, still, after all these years. Don’t sleep on the frozen soups, they are delicious and meals by themselves. April 2025

The best part of this restaurant for me was how outstanding the service is. You can tell that the chef has a true passion for everything that he cooks. Me and my financé went there for a night out and ordered a brownie dessert and he came out and told us how to eat it for the best flavor pallet that could be brought out of the dish. 10/10 would recommend going here if given the opportunity.

A
Allison Kramer

Literally amazing the enchiladas are to die for. The falafel was so good! The owners are so nice! It’s not fast food, so if you’re looking to be in and out take it under advisement! That by all means does not mean it’s slow it’s just not Applebees fast! The couple who run it are the only employees which makes their little restaurant full of love and super cozy! Their food makes up for speed, it’s all made from scratch of whole good quality ingredients and it shows!

My wife and I had business in town, and two of our three kids plus a fiancé had business in Ithaca. I suggested we meet at Whole in the Wall for dinner, it had been years. Everything about the experience was amazing. The food was artfully prepared fresh from incredibly fresh ingredients. The service was spectacular, and the vibe was the same as it was back when the place opened! My wife and I travel quite a bit, and we always seek out the finest local restaurants we can find. I am not being hyperbolic when I say that Eliot is an artist in the kitchen. His skills as a chef are on par with those chefs in some of the finest places in some of the finest food cities in the world (think Paris, NOLA, etc.). If you are visiting Binghamton, or if you live close enough to drive there, make reservation, show up hungry, and order off the menu what speaks to you.

My sister and I ate here last week while visiting the area, FINALLY, after graduating from Binghamton in 1995. We had always heard about this restaurant and seen the ads in Pipe Dream as students, a.k.a. the days when we had no wheels and the usual fare for us was Denny's. What a treasure this place is! The mushroom soup, to die for! I got the Whole Enchilada, and thoroughly enjoyed it, the chipotle sauce is wonderful. My sister got the mezze platter and loved it - I stole a felafel off of her plate! We both cleaned our plates. The portions are well sized - not huge but not small, just the right size to let you fit in an appetizer/soup, and dessert. Now let me talk about the dessert. We had seen on Facebook a few hours prior that Eliot had baked up an apple pie. So that's what we asked for! It was fabulous. Whole wheat crunchy crust, some oats and cinnamon mixed in with the crumble-type topping over thinly sliced apples... each bite melted in your mouth. We tried to persuade Eliot to reveal his recipe when we got to speak with him and his lovely wife later, to no avail. This restaurant is the kind of gem you find, and then it becomes the goal to visit, each time you visit the area. We were so happy to learn they have a mail order business, because I brought some mushroom soup home for my husband, and now he is climbing the walls wanting more. Also bought a container of Eliot's famous basil pesto, and just had some last night, such flavorful basil with garlic and pine nuts. Highly recommend this restaurant. While waiting for your food, you are welcomed to flip through an album they have put together, detailing the genesis and evolution of the restaurant through the years. Very unique and interesting.

Eliot is authentic, honest, and an amazing chef. My group had some folks with vegan/gf restrictions, and some who preferred meat over veggies. We all left very satisfied, and we're just sad we hadn't found Whole in the Wall earlier! We will definitely be returning to enjoy the cozy atmosphere and homemade dishes, and to support such a wonderful local establishment. They also offer homemade pestos, marinara sauces, and soups available in-store and online. We didn't get a chance to try these, but bought a few pestos to try at home later. It's important to note that they will take slightly longer to bring you your food than you might be used to. This is 100% a positive thing! They make all of the food fresh after you order it, and they pride themselves on the use of farm-to-table ingredients. Both of those facts are very noticeable in the quality of their dishes.

Whole in the Wall is the definition of cozy, welcoming dining in Binghamton. The warm atmosphere pairs perfectly with their fresh, homemade food. The Mediterranean platter was vibrant and flavorful crisp falafel, creamy hummus, smoky baba ghanoush, and refreshing tzatziki with fresh veggies. The scallops were beautifully seared and served with tender mushrooms in a rich, buttery sauce. Even the fried broccoli were light and crispy, and the mushroom soup was creamy and comforting. The garlic roll? Warm, buttery, and unforgettable. Whether you’re craving something hearty or something fresh, Whole in the Wall delivers delicious, feel-good food every time. A true local gem. 🌟

I'm a long time southside resident, never eat at chain restaurants, but also never tried The Whole In The Wall Restaurant. Man have we been missing out. Eliot put a FB post out and I read it on Fri morning, we picked the spot for dinner and it didnt disappoint! I had the special enchilada, the taste matched the presentation! All the flavors blended perfectly. My wife had the scallops and she thoroughly enjoyed them as well! We also did cups of the mushroom soup, top 1 or 2 in the area for sure! Eliot also made a point to come out and introduce himself, discuss some of the ingredients and crawl under the table to fix the wobble. There is nothing this guy cant do! We didn't walk out of there stuffed like some other dinners, but rather perfectly full! I'll take quality over quantity every day! Stop in and show them some love!

This is the cutest place ever. After we ate, one of the chefs asked how we liked it, and then he told us we were sitting next to where his grandmother’s bowl was hanging that she brought back from Vienna in the 1940’s. He was so kind and the food was SO amazing. Everything is a 1000000/10.

We ordered four containers of pesto (spinach, red pepper, sun dried tomato and basil), the baba Ghanouj platter from the catering menu, steamed vegetables with both tofu and tempeh, and a chicken pocket. I had told the owner that we were ordering for Shabbat and he called me back later asking me if we wanted him to defrost the pestos as they come frozen which was so considerate of him! He also gave us a free loaf of bread to celebrate with, it was very beautiful. The food was delicious- the pesto had real pine nuts which was such a delight. The baba ghanouj was simply delightful everything was perfect! Everyone had their own favorite pesto. Whole in a Wall went above and beyond to make our night fantastic! If you want to support kind people, a fantastic local business with great ethics and values (IE stone soup), and get some DELICIOUS food while you’re at it, definitely go to Whole in a Wall! You won’t be disappointed. Such a wonderful part of the Binghamton community.

Just went there a couple nights with my son and we loved the food and atmosphere. Quiet chill relaxing place. Great homemade food by the legend himself - Eliot Fiks. He’s been a cooking force for 42 years with farm to table fresh food approach. My favorite meals are pesto pasta, the pita pocket sandwiches, mushroom soup, shrimp scampi and love love the babaganoush appetizer. My first time there was on opening night 1980 and 42 years later Eliot still rocks. Definitely always ahead of his times. Make reservations or call to get a table for a tasty meal on a Friday or Saturday. Support local for a tasty homemade meal.

This place is a gem!!! The food is made with a lot of care and the flavors were delicious. The hummus was extremely fresh, the falafel was not overly breaded and had fantastic flavor. The chicken fingers were crunchy and perfectly tender inside. The steamed vegetables with chicken and tofu were also flavored perfectly and had a nice sauce accompanying it. The service was terrific. You can tell they put a lot of pride into the food they make! Will definitely be returning. It’s just a few steps from a EV fast charger and definitely worth the stop!!!

Yup, we knew the originators before the place opened, and have been coming here since say one. Food is still excellent, the Creamy Mushroom soup is a must-have. Atmosphere and service is very relaxed and family-friendly. I could go on, but come find out for yourself. Good stuff!

An unusual little restaurant where the food is just the beginning of the attraction. A wonderful ambiance and lots of interesting history on the walls. Portion sizes are adequate but less large than at many other places don’t hesitate to err on the side of a few sides. Finally don’t expect the chef to share his secrets! You only get to enjoy them on your plate.

Everything was so yummy and the vibes in there were so great. Afterwards the owner mentioned that we were sitting next to his grandmothers bowl from Vienna and we had already read the note above it. Amazing service and food 10/10 recommend.

I have loved the Whole in the Wall for 20 years. There is a special magic in the food that Elliot makes. The mushroom soup is like no other! The cheddar chicken broil just melts in your mouth! My husband loved the enchilada - savory and just spicy enough. Everything is made with love and you can tell!

We always seek out any opportunity to visit Whole in The Wall whenever we’re in the area. The approach of fresh and simple ingredients works well- the dishes are packed with flavor. We tried the lasagna, bluefish, enchilada and raspberry brownie—loved by all. The opposite of flashy food, solid, great-tasting food.

The quality and service here was incredible. I loved the atmosphere and the vegan options. I got the Mediterranean platter and it was hands down the best falafel I've ever had. My only critique would be the pricing on the menu did not match what I was charged. I know printing is expensive but I would definitely recommend they update their menus to reflect the pricing that they are charging. Regardless, I loved it and will back soon!

Five of us visited on Saturday 8/2/25 for their reopening. Reservations were recommended so we got one at 4:30. The special was vegetable lasagna. It was which was wonderful. I’m so glad I chose it. The other dishes were said to be equally pleasing. The service was perfect. Ethan has a real gem there. Welcome back!

The mushroom soup was fabulous. The fried tempeh and tofu were delicious with stir fried vegetables. My wife loved the falafel. A great lunch - highly recommended. We live near Rochester and ate there in the early 80’s. Hope to return soon.

This restaurant is fantastic! I love the rustic but homey atmosphere. The food gives you the best of both worlds: homemade + locally sourced and delicious. You can tell that the chef puts his heart into each meal. I highly recommend eating here for any meal of the day.

In town to visit my folks, who are die hard regulars. I had been a couple of times before for lunch, but this was my first dinner. What a treat! I could carry on about the charming setting that cannot be replicated or tell you how the 'four hands' are simply delightful humans... but the best thing I can do is tell you to go there and simply savor the menu. Anything on it will be better than that you have had elsewhere, but if you absolutely must have a recommendation, get the mushroom soup to start.... or see if there is a vat available to make a meal!

I really enjoy dining here at Whole in the Wall. The food is always freshly made, there are many vegetarian options, and most of all, it's delicious! The owners are incredibly kind and welcoming. This place is a treat to go to regularly.

The enchilada is the best with a little bit of spice and the peanut butter pie is so good for dessert, we even brought some home for later. Amazing staff too!

Very unique gem. Food and atmosphere were great. Will definitely go back again. PS- try the mushroom soup. You won’t regret it.

Everything was so yummy and the vibes in there were so great. Afterwards the owner mentioned that we were sitting next to his grandmothers bowl from Vienna and we had already read the note above it. Amazing service and food 10/10 recommend.

Good food, portion a little small, but tasted really good. Menu on website doesn’t match what they have in the restaurant. Sometimes local farms don’t have everything so they can’t get it. Service friendly and efficient.

Great options for vegan and vegetarian. The dining room is unique. The only downside is the hours. Mostly on weekends. But definitely would recommend if you're looking for healthier eating options.

Solid vegan/vegetarian food, but their menu could use more diversity. Their hummus is particulary of note. The interior is a little dingy; the staff is very accomodating.

Wasn't bad. Nice selection of vegetarian and vegan friendly food. Gluten free products upon request. Alittle pricey but worth every penny.

I really enjoyed my visit here. It's the type of little homey restaurant that I could picture being my daily haunt, if I loved in the area. Even so, it felt very welcoming. Everything that I ate was well prepared and delicious. The pricing was a bit on the high end, but they do provide farm-to- table ingredients. Gluten- free and vegan options were good. Be aware that the items listed for each dish are the only things served, so if you want veggies or a soup or salad, that will be separate. As a non vegan who ate there, I highly recommend the "chicken cheddar broil" and if you enjoy wine, the blackberry from Black Bear Wineries is absolutely wonderful.

Had a lovely evening and the food was very delicious. The chef, Elliot came out to chat with the table and very personable. There was a great selection of beers and wine and the dessert I had was so delicious, cheesecake.

We were happy to find this spot on our trip across I-86. We were craving some healthy food! It was easy to get to and super easy to get back on the expressway. Really nice staff and the food was very fresh and healthy. I enjoyed the falafel but the babaganoush was a bit loose for my taste. My husband really liked his salad. The vegetable selection was a bit limited (I was craving beets), but other than that the menu selection was pretty good.

I ordered take out from this establishment last week. My first reaction was "What the heck is this?" when I opened it. I was looking for a burrito with rice. It was more an open faced burrito buried by salad, with rice on the side. After I got over the shock of the presentation, and soothed myself that I actually received what I ordered, and ate it, it was very good :) It was ready on time, and the counter staff was friendly.

Lovely lunch for 2: mushroom soup, Mediterranean platter, garlic ball, pesto pasta, raspberry brownie sundae. Everything tasted very good. Some things have changed presumably due to COVID: no more pesto dip & crackers, no free water, all food served on single use products, no menu of the day with the desserts listed. Nothing major, just different. Comments below about ‘creepy’ staff seem unreasonable. We’ve always appreciated friendly chat with wait staff, the owner, musicians - it’s part of why we’ve gone here in the past. It’s about being more than just strangers engaging in a food/money swap.

It was OK, the person taking my order was pretty and so was the other guy working. The food could be of better quality. I thought the restaurant was cute.

The vegetarian food was good but not very much provided considering the cost. The bread was charged additionally, which I thought a bit much. The reason for this review is to warn handicapped persons to beware; there is no way a wheelchair can get anywhere near the bathroom, which is tucked around a sharp turn corner!

The last time I was there, around May 10, 2019, I was a little disappointed in the food. For the price I expected larger portions and better quality. It was dinner. This might be a better lunch place.

Good food but very expensive for small portions. Great service. As nice as the idea of this restaurant serving healthy food is virtually everything had gluten and their meat options were highly lacking.

Average food, slightly higher prices, but you can tell you're getting quality ingredients. The mushroom soup was quite good, as is the pesto.

I finally had the pleasure of trying this place out last week. The food was great, I'm always a fan of restaurants who make vegan food taste outstanding. However, the reason I give this place 3 stars and not 5 is because of their service. This is the third time I've tried eating here, and the only time I have received food. The first two times we left due to how slow the service was. With only 10 customers, it took 7 minutes for the waiter to come with menus, another 10 to take a drink order, and after another 8 minutes no one came to take a food order (nor did our water ever arrive). My second experience was similar. I would like to believe I just had bad luck, seeing as my third time was swift and without issue. Still, for 5 stars I believe a restaurant has to be consistent with its service.

Made a reservation for 4 on a Saturday night at 6. Was glad to hear they could accommodate one extra guest last minute. Arrived to see we were the only table eating in (table of 2 was finishing up). While the owner gave our table a lot of attention, we were disappointed to find out that water was only served in bottles. The food was alright and we didn’t mind the wait for freshly cooked. Got the bill to find out $3 per water bottle made our tab a bit unreasonable.

I visited Whole In The Wall before Christmas with some co-workers. The food is good, I had the stir fry with chicken. They focus on healthy and gluten free dishes. The restaurant has a "hippie-esk" quality to it as others have mentioned. It almost feels like this place should be in Ithaca instead of Binghamton. The service was a bit slow, but we weren't in a hurry. Portions were decent sized and tasted "home-made". The desserts were tasty - I had a small one and was still very satisfied. It's an interesting place and worth a try, you may not find it to your liking, but it's something different than the same old burger or pizza joint for lunch.

Bought their basil pesto at wegmans and it was filled with woody stems from the basil plant. So much so I couldn’t even enjoy it and had to spit out my dinner and throw the rest out. I tried to salvage the container but it was literally all full of woody stems. At $7.50 for a small container this was so disappointing and upsetting! Whole in the Wall needs to do better quality control when making this product 😣

The food was good here, but my god is it expensive for the portions that you get. I don't think I'll be coming back, unless it's for their pesto... or if I have to find somewhere to take a GF/vegan friend. Parking was awful too, but that's not necessarily their fault.

The food was pretty good. I love the mushroom soup, and the apple crumble pie was nice. The other items we got were fine. The portions are very small; I feel cheated that I paid 7 dollars for a "bowl" of soup and ended up with a tiny maybe 8 ounce cup, and the same was to be said for the sizes of the other food we got. I understand that organic, fresh made food is going to be pricier, but for me, it just isn't worth it for a spot that is going to give such small portions. The food was was not ready when they told us despite the restaurant being practically empty. No big deal, but not sure if I'll be back.

I gave it 2 stars for the customers that made me laugh and let me pet their dog. But over priced for sure. And we did kind of go on a night someone quit I think so service took a long hr. Needless to say, won't be going back.

Came here on a Saturday night. First choice was Red Lobster on the Vestal Parkway, wait time was 45 min, so we headed to Outback, also on the Vestal Parkway. At Outback it was an 1 hr wait, so someone with me suggested Whole in the Wall. I've never been there and I usually like to try new places. We go there, ordered the bread ball which was delicious then the cheese and crackers which was also tasty. After the initial apps everthing went down hill from there. I ordered a Yuengling Light. Was brought the correct item, beer bottle had a blue label. I ordered a 2nd Yuengling Light and was served a beer bottle that had a brown label (still the light). I tasted the beer and it tasted flat and just plain old. They served me an old beer! As Yuengling redesigned their "Light" bottle approx 2 years ago. It's the first redesign in 30 years, therefore I 100% knew this was old without even tasting it. I was correct. The meal which was pasta was first brought to us cold! We politely asked the server to warm it up. After waiting at least 25 minutes the pasta was finally brought to us. It took longer to warm the pasta up in the microwave than it did to cook it! Extremely long wait just to heat up in the microwave for 3 minutes. Once I was served the pasta once again, it was undercooked, bland and just awful. Our server did take off the entire amount of all the drinks we ordered as whole group due to the old beer- which was extremely nice. Overall: Come here for the appetizers. great bread ball and cheese and crackers, as for the meal....there's a reason why those chains (Red Lobster and Outback were packed with almost an hr wait) the food is good there and the cooks and staff know how to run a restaurant. Whole in the Wall has some issues. Too bad, as it's a great thing to support local but very dissapointed with this meal.

Stopped in the area for lunch while traveling. Decided to stop by whole in the wall for lunch and wished we hadn't $90.for basic lunch options for 2 adults, 2 kids. The Mexican platter lacked any flavor or meat... Not sure I could even call it Mexican inspired. Upcharge for gluten free with no visible accommodations made. Shrimp scampi was more mushroom than shrimp, which was overcooked. Luncheon pizza the size of a saucer dish and not worth the $13 price dish. Mushroom soup tasted like Cheetos. Would never stop here again.. we were the only customers and it took forever for our meals to be served . Unsure why reservations were required.... The place was empty. It made a lasting impression and not a good one.

Food was just not very good. Everything had an odd taste and almost all the food was left uneaten, expensive trip as well. This is coming from a vegetarian as well, the only nice part was the decor and restaurant feel.

Extremely disappointed. Pasta special—pasta was undercooked, cold, and dish was flavorless. My granddaughter ordered stir fried vegetables. On the menu this said it was cooked in light oil. Instead, she received vegetables cooked in a tamari ginger sauce. Since she can’t eat soy, she couldn’t eat this dish. Even though we brought this to the attention of the host, they did nothing to fix it and we were charged full price for a dish that was inedible and whose description on the menu was inaccurate. Our waitress seemed unconcerned about our issues with the meal. The pasta dishes came out and then we had to wait for other meals. The experience was so disappointing I would never go there again.

Visited this restaurant this evening and was greeted by Julie (this is the name she gave. Lady with locks). Julie directed me to the other side of the restaurant as I had take out. Once I entered, I was slighly pushed by a waitress (no apologies) and ignored. I walked over to the bar and asked the man if this is where I pick up. He rudely said give me a second. A second turned into 20 minutes. Two waiters and waitress passed me, never looked at me. I had someone call the restaurant. Twice the waitress hung up the phone. I watched. The third time the waitress answered and was told I was waiting. She turned to me and said we are busy. She asked the waiter to get my food, through the two cokes down. I told her I waited for 30 minutes and no one addressed me and the service was bad and at this her and the waiter cussed me out as I walked out of the store. This is for Toronto location
