Bay View Restaurant

Perfect choice for our anniversary dinner, special occasion, or just date night. Great service, food, and dining atmosphere with a nice view of the bay.

I had dinner with friends last week. We were warmly welcomed with fresh baked breads! Absolutely delicious! The appetizers were scrumptious, the entrees were cooked to perfection, and the deserts were over and above wonderful. The staff members were so helpful and knowledgeable. I plan to return very soon. That bread! Incredible!

Unbelievable food the fillet steak with crab was superb. Great assorted vegetables and mash potato was magic!! 100% recommended if you are a foodie

The food for the Kunde winemaker dinner was fabulous and very tasty. The service was excellent and the view was beautiful, I highly recommend trying this place for dinner while you are in the Bodega Bay area! They have a great wine selection as well as beer selection, I'm impressed by their bar offerings as well!

Great service and atmosphere, but I can't say much for portion size and the price. My family and I went here for dinner. The place was empty, except for two people. This is usually a bad sign, but I wanted to give the place a chance. Being a vegetarian, I ordered wild mushrooms cooked in wine sauce, over pasta and a salad. We got the salad in a massive bowl, but it looked like someone had hacked up a head of lettuce with big chunks with oil and balsamic vinegar. The salad was very bitter and the dressing was very sour, so it wasn't edible. Our server asked how was our food , and we simply said bad. Now the funny part was when they brought out the pasta. It came in this tiny, tiny TINY! waste of space of a bowl for $26 per dish!!! I looked up from my plate, like really? My mother ordered the same thing, and she just started laughing. It was so stupidly small that it was funny! My mom even looked around to see if we were being pranked! I know this restaurant was trying to be very European. Since I've been to Europe, so I know that they serve more food than that. Heck, I could get more out of a single pack of Top Ramen! Thank goodness for the bread and olives, or we would have starved! At least what little food we got for the entree tasted alright. So, in all, I don't recommended this place unless you eat before and after and have a big pocketbook!

Our anniversary, stated in my reservation, was never acknowledged. 2. Water glasses never refilled. 3. We had a simple question our server couldn't answer, but at least he went and got the answer. 4. Server never returned to our table after taking our order. (Food brought by busboy, but I know that helps food to be served hot.) 5. Looong waits between courses. Like, 15-30 minutes after finishing each course. 6. After 20 minute wait, server showed up to box our leftovers. Never asked about dessert. We had to ask him! He seemed inconvenienced to have to get us dessert menus. Coffee & dessert did arrive promptly. But... 7. 20 minutes later and no check. The hostess happened by our table so we asked her for our check. Check arrived, but... no one came for it. Finally, we took our boxed food and the check to the hostess, who not only didn't apologize, but continued her conversation with a cook (?) while she rung us up. Maybe because it was a Sunday... Oh-the food and view were excellent, but...

We then asked for some chicken tenders to go - which they brought out but did not give us any condiments for the chicken which was dry. I honestly would not rate this place and kinda feel I wasted money at the restaurant and the hotel there that we were staying at. I spent collectively $450 for the hotel and $150 for the restaurant which totals $600 and I do not feel it was worth it. I will say that the bartender at the restaurant made great drinks and was fun to talk about. I sat at the bar before my family joined me and he made a great espresso martini.

We were staying at the hotel and were going in to enjoy a nice dinner after a relaxing day. They were slightly full but the host was trying to get us a table and got us in. In walks one of the rudest managers I have seen at any establishment in years. First he openly chastisised the host in front of us making everyone uncomfortable. He barely even looked at the seating chart and said he could seat us you could "check back in 30 minutes" didn't take our name down and say you can wait at the bar... didn't even say sorry. Then he looked at us and told us there is a place across the street trying to brush us off. I asked him, "....so what we come I back in 30 minutes and maybe we get to eat no guarantees?" It was at this point he finally looked at his seating chart and he "might be able to write us in in an hour and a half." Honestly even if he had a table magically open up we would have left, he had a diner with 15 tables and was acting like he was managing a 5 star restaurant. To top it all off as we left being made feel like we were not even wanted there we hear him loudly yelling at the host again. I was in food service myself in college this is probably the worst boss anyone could imagine to work for. I feel sorry for his staff and will NEVER eat at this place.

Terrible Service. My uncle and I went to have dinner. The restaurant was approximately 30% full of guests. We had ordered drinks and we had to remind the waiter several times that we were still waiting for our drinks. The waiter had the nerve to blame the bartender the reason why our drinks were late stating that the bartender had been "very busy" when all the while we could see the bartender was not. After our drinks and hors d'oeuvre we waited for about 30 minutes for our salads. The waiter had forgotten what kind of salads we had ordered and he initially brought us the wrong entrees.

Theme of the night was "sorry" (we forgot you even though you are sitting in the middle of the restaurant), "sorry" (the food took over 45 minutes), "sorry" (the chicken was overcooked and dry, after being told that the chicken was delayed because it is not cooking/undercooked), "sorry" (the salad had onions and the menu wasn't clear that the salad was a mostly onion salad), "sorry" (took a half hour to get the check when we were one of two tables LEFT at the end of the night) I am "sorry" I set foot in this restaurant. For such high prices, to have such horrible table service and such poor responsiveness from the Matra d? skip....
