One of the very best places in the area for Authentic Mexican food! Owner and staff always so nice, courteous and welcoming! Love that you can order a pitcher of Margaritas on the rocks or frozen. Also one of the few Tex-Mex spots that have meat filled tamales (choice of chicken / pork). Love that you can eat outside (limited seating) or inside covered and has huge fans in for warmer temps & heaters during colder temps). Stays busy but always accommodating and the bar is upstairs , overall one of the best spots to go.

I had an amazing meal at Mi Rancho Restaurant! Their frozen drinks are delightful, and we had the chance to try the chicken quesadilla and steak fajitas, which arrived sizzling hot and incredibly fresh. What's particularly charming is the manager, who always takes the time to greet our table and adds a touch of humor to enhance our experience. Abraham was our server, he was very attentive and fast. Their fresh homemade flour tortillas are the icing on the cake. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and great menu prices I highly recommend this place for a fantastic dining experience.

A group of 25 of us arrived for a special occasion yesterday afternoon and it was perfect. The manager, Jessica, made sure that we had everything we needed. Judy and her team took care of our party and made sure we had everything we needed. The appetizer platters were a great suggestion as there’s a little of everything and delicious. All of the entrees were presented well and everyone said their order was delicious. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for large groups as they can handle with ease. We will be back!

The chips are super thin/crispy/delicate. I love them and the salsa is suitably thin - if it were thick salsa it would break those delicate chips! Fish tacos are my favorite.

Probably the most chill place to eat in Silver Spring. Food is always great, the service friendly and the owners and managers are always looking out for ya. I usually sit in the big tented area and get my favorite grilled steak and shrimp fajitas and a chips with "melted cheese" with my wife and kids or without. Steak quesadillas had a good cheese pull, great amount of steak, the tortilla was crispy (I hate soggy quesadillas, and there was a fair amount of guac and jalapeños on the side. Waitress did not listen to what was asked and brought what she thought she heard. Otherwise, everything else was amazing. I'm thinking about going back as I leave this review. 10/31/23 Update: My new regular spot. I tried the chicken quesadilla & fried cheesecake. The Cadillac margaritas is nice too.

We spent few hours in our company party here. Everything was great. But the drinks were too sweet. We had Margaritas and Mojitos. It was sweat and didnt even taste any alchohol on it. Food was ok. Delicious chicken soft tacos! The tomatoes were fresh, plenty of sour cream and the soft taco shell was sooo good. Lots of outdoor seating and good amount of indoor seating. Clean and super friendly service. We did not order drinks but they have pitchers of frozen margaritas that looked good. Endless chips and salsa with meal. Will be back for more of those soft tacos! One of the best Mexican restaurants I’ve been to in DMV. Great customer service, amazing food and tasty drinks. There are options to sit outside or indoors in an airy space. Let them know if it’s a birthday. They do have special celebrations for birthday celebrants. Parking could be hard to find. There is however free parking (after 7pm) in a garage close by. It might be worth it to make a reservation prior on peak days.

Good times. Happy hour and tons of ourdoor dining during COVID-19. Great service, house lime margaritas and white sangrias. We ordered nachos with chicken and beef. The salsa which came with the chips at the beginning of the meal was a tad watery for our taste but everything else was delicious: enchiladas, talipia and flounder. Normally you encounter this type of LatinX hospitality and sultry Spanish dishes in LA but Mi Rancho is obviously leveling the playing field in the DMV area. A great venue for birthday parties and family gatherings.

Good food but could have better COVID precautions. We went here because we were told they had outdoor dining. They’re doing a good job of spacing the tables but the dining isn’t really outdoor dining. It’s more of an outdoor patio that they’ve enclosed with a large tent - you basically feel like you’re indoors. All windows or spaces where air could get in were closed by the tent covering. Even opening a couple of the tent flaps to get better airflow would help make the place safer. The staff was super friendly and nice and the food was excellent, and they do wear masks. But I would encourage them to get more airflow into the space in order to make it much safer during this huge COVID surge we’re having right now. Otherwise it’s a great place with good food and friendly staff. Had a combo platter below and loved it.

Went to Happy Hour with my friends and I truly enjoyed myself and the food. I ordered the nachos and flan for dessert. The nachos are very different from what you’d expect but they were still so yummy. There is an old fashioned tortilla maker in the front and it’s just fascinating to see the tortillas being pressed out. There is outdoor seating when the weather gets warm and the staff was great!

Decent Tex-Mex food served. I really liked the michelada and the tortillas. My husband got the fajitas, it was tasty. I picked plato maria, I don't recommend. The enchiladas were dry and not very good. Same for the tamal. Same for the rice... Expect a swimming pool of cheese on the Chile relleno! It's a nice restaurant, very spacious. The waitress was polite and efficient too. I'd like to come back but definitely trying something else. Creo que cocinan la carne muy bien y quizas hacen las tortillas en casa pero no tienen buenas salsas 🥲.

Hidden gem and sports bar style Tex-Mex restaurant in the silver spring near Cameron Street public parking. One of the best Fajita place in the area. Surprisingly good grilled flounder, w. an extra jalapeño on the side(tender and young, not as spicy). We really enjoyed the Saturday lunch.

My girlfriend at the time and I shared an apartment across the street when they first opened in the early 1990’s. The food was great then and still is today. Whenever I’m in the Washington DC area and have a chance I stop by this spot for the good food and memories.

I’d really give this restaurant a 3.5/5. The Mexican food was fine, I ordered the carne asada plate and the steak was decently marinated. The plates came with refried beans, rice, guacamole, and pico de gallo. However the guacamole and pico was placed on the hot sizzling plate so it ended up cooking the guacamole. Chips and salsa were also decent. The service, our waitress, was attentive with bringing waters and filling our glasses up on a hot day! It wasn’t busy on a Saturday at 12:30-1 pm. There’s outdoor seating that’s covered under shade, there’s outdoor seating with no shade, and there’s indoor seating!

I've been here more times than I can count and it's always been good - mostly on weekdays. Apparently Sunday evenings are busy. We waited nearly 45 mins for someone to take our order and when the food came out, the nachos were soggy and unappealing. We did tell our server, who was clearly overwhelmed with tables, so we finished our meal (the rest was fine) and left. I think I'll stick to weekdays. One meh meal doesn't deter me.

So this was a mixed bag for me. My favorite places to explore and rate are Mexican restaurants. First, the positive: they nailed it 100% on service. 100%. Warm chips, salsa and water hit the table in under 30 seconds. The salsa is good, but very middle of the road. Probably best for mixed guests. A little sauza and pepper fixed that. Margaritas as watery. Not heavy on alcohol, not too sweet, not memorable. Good. But not a go-to. After one, my wife who loves margaritas, switched to a white wine. As for meals. Again a mixed bag. My wife ordered steak fajitas. I ordered a grilled chicken Santa Fe burrito. Her steak came out sizzling and was fantastic. Great flavor! And I.. got the wrong meal... Didn't realize until I dug into it. Instead I got the shredded chicken enchiladas. Which is probably what I should have ordered. They are are awesome. Best part is that they flame grill the entire entree at the end, including the rice. So the cheese and rice have a great crisp to them. I noted the error and they replaced this with my grilled chicken burrito. Eh, not great. I am 90% sure the ground chicken was store bought pre cooked chicken (I know, I've had it many times) just warmed up. It definitely was the exact same length and dimensions of store bought chicken. It was very wet and no grilled flavor or bark. Also, my wife's side of beans were definitely not of Mexican taste, I feel like I've had canned ones just like this before. So, staff is amazing, the house margaritas are fine but not a go-to, salsa is the same, and some of the food is REALLY GOOD, but it seems that it really depends on what you get. Steak and shredded chicken were a win.

It’s a place that’s mainly outside to the elements but all covered. The chips and salsa were good but I got the nachos and they weren’t anything special. It’s more of a place for the outdoor vibe.

After many years away, I decided to return to Mi Rancho for lunch. Unfortunately, my experience this time was disappointing. From the start, the server was rude. As a Latino, I have noticed in the past that some staff seem less welcoming to Latino customers, while catering more warmly to their Caucasian clientele. While this bias did not ruin my meal, it was disheartening to see it still present after so many years. Later, when I went to the restroom, another employee carelessly pushed the door open on me and acted as if nothing had happened. Again, I chose not to let this behavior affect my visit, but it added to the overall poor impression. Our table server eventually tried to make conversation, but by that point I had already decided it was best to ignore the lack of professionalism. At checkout, she seemed upset with the 15% tip we left, reacting with visible dissatisfaction and then walking away aggressively toward the front desk. I share this feedback not out of anger, but in the hope that management will provide better training on customer service and respect for all guests. Every customer should feel valued, regardless of background. Business is business, and respect is the foundation of long-term success. I remember when Mr. Juan, the owner, built this restaurant with pride and dedication. I’m sure he hopes his family and employees will continue that legacy with the same care he once showed. Unfortunately, my recent experience fell short of those standards.

Sadly, the quality of the food was not nearly as good as when we had last visited Mi Rancho a number of years ago. It was never fancy Mexican food, but it was good. On Saturday it was disappointing. Too much cheese on top of my cheese enchilada and the sauce was bland. My Cadillac margarita tasted like a plain margarita. I think we’ve had our last visit to this spot.

I went to Mi Rancho today and I felt that I was overcharge for drinks. I was charged $244.00 dollars for double tequila shot and did feel a thing. I used to come here alot when I was younger but this will be my last time because I felt like I was scammed.

The manager there made my friends and I very uncomfortable. He made a racist comment towards one of my friends

My friend and I went to the Silver Spring location to grab some dinner. It was a Saturday so it was packed. We were seated right away, recieved chips MD salsa and had a very nice server. He took our drink orders, left to get our drinks, and then came back to get our dinner order very promptly. We received our drinks, talked, watched the game and then realized that we had been waiting 20 minutes for our food. Our server came over and said that our food would be out in a minute. TWENTY FIVE minutes later he said ours was next to come out. Ten minutes later ourbfood came out. The rice was COLD, not warm, but COLD. My enchiladas were luke warm. The beans were HOT which was all I ate of my dinner at the restaurant. I called the server over and explained the problem. He apologized and said "no problem". My friend's dinner was barely warm but he said he was hungry because he had not eaten all day so he ate his. He stated that his food was not seasoned as usual and was disappointed in his food. My next plate was brought and while the plate was warm, the rice was still cold and the enchiladas were still barely warm. I was frustrated and just asked for a box to take my food home. I went home and put my food in the microwave and heated it. I was not expecting to have to microwave and seasoned my own food that evening. I was expecting that to be done at the restaurant. I'm not sure what was going on in the kitchen on Saturday evening but nothing was seasoned well. There were a lot of large groups there so maybe the chefs were overwhelmed and didn't take the time to season as usual?? Was our server overwhelmed and forgot about our food allowing it to get cold?? I won't be going back on a Saturday night again. I was very disappointed with them. I am here often so to have been given the food I was given on Saturday was disheartening.

My sister ordered from this restaurant and they gave her someone’s left over. When we call and told them what happened they said they had to check security tapes to see if she was telling the truth. I’ve never heard of a restaurant checking security tapes to see if an order was or was not correct. They basically implied that were lying over a $20 To-go order. I would regularly go here and drop $80-$100. Very strange. I will not be back. Also their response to my sister’s review is very passive aggressive telling her to “enjoy her lunch”. Very mean spirited since she never received her purchased lunch.

When it comes to customer service this has to be one of the worst places I have encounter! I ordered a kids Veggie Quesadilla with rice and beans for my son, they made it completely wrong!!! When i calmly told them the order was wrong, they tried to make it seem as if if it was my fault! Called for a manager and he also tried to make it seem that it was my fault! When i asked for a refund, they refused! When i asked them to remake it, they told me that the kitchen was closed!! Even after the fact that I explained this meal was for my child!!! This place does not care about customer service at all!! BEWARE!!!!

Steak burrito. Totally strange. Has basically steak fajita on the inside (long strips) and melted CHEDDAR CHEESE on top. In all fairness I’m from California where we do burritos differently. Probably everyone likes what they are used to.

Beware, they automatically include an $18 “gratuity” in the bill, and they ask for additional tip on top of that. Asked the waiter about it and he was rude and insulting. The owner was the same Never coming back Owner: pay your people a fair wage instead of relying on customers to subsidize you Chicken was ok, seafood was good, beef was gristly

whoever they have in charge or replying to these reviews needs to be fired. my daughter ordered food for me last night to take for my lunch today. when I told her there was no burrito in the box this morning she called and asked for a refund. apparently they accused her of lying and told her they hoped she "enjoyed the lunch". I don't know who they have monitoring these or replying but it was highly unprofessional. Never in my life would I expect someone to "check the security tapes" for a refund, which I highly doubt they even did. the name on the receipt wasn't even her or my name! if they didn't want to give her a refund they could have done so in a more professional manner. I will never recommend this place and will actively tell people to avoid.

They are hiding my review. Ordered food from them last night to go. Was supposed to be lunch for my father today. This morning I discovered the burrito wasn't there. Called for a refund. They said they need pictures and to check a security tape. Posted a review telling people I think they gave me someone's left overs as the name on the receipt wasn't even mine and told people to check their food before leaving. They replied basically calling me a liar and hoped I "enjoyed my lunch". You can't see my original review because I guess they want to hide it. I have pics I'm going to try and post. Gonna hit up yelp too. These people are jerks. Wow. Never been called a liar over 20 bucks before. Edit: I see they have replied to this one. Much more professional and I do appreciate them taking charge and giving me a better reply than whatever knucklehead they let near their reviews before. In the future I hope they respond to their customers' complaints with professionalism such as this in future.
