Our go to place for margaritas. Waiters are very friendly and always make sure you are pleased with your food and drinks. Love the atmosphere. Food is great. Would highly recommend.
Best salad and chips. Great family and friends dinning. Tradition Mexican cuisine is on point have been coming here for years and will continue bring my guest. Just get hungry posting this review!!!
Went to myriad is with the family. What a good time the portions were large. And so were the plates, they came out hot and fast.We really love the chips in salsa.Personally, the salsa was too spicy for me, but my children loved it.Thumbs up to marietta's.Also, they had a dwayne, the rock cutout in the front, and I took a picture with it score!
Loved the ambiance of the restaurant in the adorable waterfall out front. The food was amazing as well. I ended up getting a taco and enchilada plate and a bloody Mary! The food and drinks do not disappoint. If you live in the Bonita area this is a great lunch, brunch, and dinner spot.
The first time I had Murrieta's was at a party so I wanted to come in person. At the party, I had an amazing ceviche. Taco Salad "Tostada" is my go-to dish at all Mexican Restaurants, since it is easy to benchmark against itself in future visits. This time it was good but a bit watery probably from the lettuce. The guacamole is still the best along with the bowl! The staff is great and friendly. The music selection was good and it was very clean. I will be coming back again.
I am breaking up with Murrieta's. The prices and quality of food are not aligned. In fact, I can eat at an upscale restaurant for similar prices. The chips, salsa, and drinks are the best in town. But the food quality has declined. I used to love the pollo Sonora but this is no longer on the menu, therefore, I must 💔 up. Bummer.
Enjoyed the food and time with family. Enchiladas de la crema and Carne asada burritos. Also liked the salsa and spiced carrots. A go-to place for us when visiting Bonita! 7/11/2024 - Another great family lunch at Murrieta's. Atmosphere, food, service all made for a fun time! Really enjoyed the pickled carrots and peppers, and especially the green salsa.
We ate here for the first time. And this place was great! We ordered the comal which is carne asada, chicken and shrimp on a bed of grilled onions on a hot sizzling cast iron skillet with half an avocado on top with pico, delicious. We also got the queso fundido (ps we ordered the queso well done) which has so much flavor! My wife ordered the large margarita... Be warned large should be labeled MEGA, definitely not for one person size of like 3 margaritas in one. Overall great place nice solo guitar singer and friendly service!
I love this place. My significant other had introduced this place & I sure glad he did. The chicken mole is best! The service is great & FAST!!!! I also love the environment & decor. ***Update*** 11-26-18 I have been craving the mole here for over a month. I finally came by & as soon as I walked in with my family & I'm greeted & got seated. The waiter was amazing! My son had a blast talking to him about the salsa being too hot for him, so the waiter brought him a kid friendly mild salsa. Which was very kind of him & I appreciated it a lot. My son being a picky eater actually liked the salsa! Everything was delicious 👏 It was so good we didn't take any left over food home ... our tummies were full of all that great food. I hope everyone enjoys themselves here because it is worth it!!
Love the environment and employee service! I think they may need more staff and maybe add two baskets of chips, not one! Seating is fast but parking is limited! I felt that the food was not incredibly special need more to impress me other than the usual Mexican dish! But staff is friendly and caring! Love the authentic environment!
This place has great margaritas and food. They do have loud clientele that frequent the place they show up and are obnoxious, drunk and loud. The restaurant should let them know to keep the noise to conversation level not club or back yard party level.
This place has some great food. They welcome you with some chips and salsas. We ordered the enchiladas suizas and the burrito with a chile relleno combo, and everything was delicious. We also got the giant $30 mango margarita to share, and it was huge. My husband and I just barely managed to finish it. Their menu is huge they even have stuff for your one family member who refuses to eat anything but burger or wings, which they have. The service was friendly and welcoming, which added to the experience. The only downside is that some areas of the restaurant feel a bit run down. The booth seats cracks look dirty, and the edges between the tables and walls could use some cleaning. It’s a really popular spot on weekends, and this was our second time visiting. I would recommend coming during the winter, though, because the mosquitoes are a problem in the summer. Overall, worth visiting for the food and drinks!
I haven’t been to Murrieta’s in about 32 years (they’ve been around a long time). My parents enjoy going, so we decided to join them this evening. Everything was delicious (see photos)… from the crispy chips and two different kinds of salsa, the marinated carrots, the margaritas (regular and tamarindo), all of our entrées, and even the churros (filled with vanilla). We sat on the patio and arrived at 4:00 PM, strategically before the dinner rush. We were offered heat lamps if needed. As we were leaving around 5:20ish, there was already a line of cars pulling into the driveway waiting for parking spots. The staff and specifically our server, Valeria, made this such a great dining experience for me and my family. Valeria was friendly, attentive, accommodating, and on top of everything. If only we could experience this type of customer service everywhere we dined. Thank you Valeria, we’ll be back! I took off one star for the temperature of our food. Valeria kindly reheated my mom’s albondigas and a couple of our other plates were room temperature. It still tasted good but would have been better if it was hot. Overall, I was highly impressed!
We just happened on this pace while in town. It was VERY busy, even though we were there at 5pm. However, we got a table right away. Servers were friendly and attentive. Our food arrived quickly. Quesadilla platter was perfect. Fajita salad was a bit oily and very salty. It’s a cool family vibe and flavors were good.
I found this place incredibly basic. I ordered the Chile Relleno and Enchilada combination plate and it was not very impressive. The Chile Relleno tasted just the same as any little Mexican food shop with a drive through - fast food style. The Enchilada sauce tasted straight out of a can (without enhancements). Overall, I felt I paid 6$ more for the quality of a drive through shop. For the aesthetic and pricing of this restaurant, I expected more. For someone who did not grow up eating authentic Mexican food, it's just fine. For someone who did grow up with the real thing, I wouldn't recommend.
Food was musk ok and they opened 30 minutes late. I wouldn't go back unless I were invited and it'd have to be a pretty special occasion. And if it were a good enough reason to go, it wouldnt be this place.
Messed up my order twice and wrote a huge 40%tip to my bill Im a pescaterian and they brought me beef. They say white meat, and bring me leg and thigh meat, like I don't know the difference. Went for my guys birthday and I let them know but 5hey never acknowledged that, but yet they acknowledged 2 other birthdays. But it's ok ,we won't be back because your food is nasty and you don't get orders right. You don't get to decide what food i eat
The restaurant is pretty. They have the old traditional Mexican look with the Adobe style and colorful decor. The restaurant can easily seat large parties and has a full bar. There is outside seating as well. The bar is nice, and they have beer on tap. The food was a little overpriced for what was given, I felt my guacamole was horribly small for its price. EL Toritos would do an entire table side fresh hand made option of guacamole 2x the size for the same price. I ordered a Stella beer, and I didn't receive a Stella, I don't know what they brought me. Possibly the coors light or modelo was tapped into the wrong handle..? We had a larger party, so the food took a little time, which was expected, but the servers kept up on the chips and salsa, which was awesome. Although they didn't pre-bus our table unless asked, so we had lots of plates hanging around clogging the table. I think what made me rank the service at 2 stars was all the food came out but 1 persons. And it took a very long time to come, most of us finished our meals before his tamales arrived. That can and will easily kill the vibe when everyone can not enjoy their food together. All and all it was ok.. could have easily raised the stars with a few adjustments.
The food and service were both pretty good. The chips were warm and the salsa was spicy which is always a bonus. Based on the flavor of the salsa, we expected our food to be spicier than it was, but it actually could have used a little more flavor. The serving size was smaller than expected, but that meant you could actually eat the meal without feeling sick after. The servers were prompt when we asked for things, but weren't around as often as we wanted them.
I was excited for a solid Mexican meal, as many said the is place was great, but unfortunately the food had no flavor whatsoever. Every dish tasted like it skipped every step involving seasoning, spice, or even basic salt. I order the El Comal, the steak, chicken, and shrimp were extremely bland which should be the easiest thing to get right Mexican food is usually bold, vibrant, and full of personality, but this felt like someone described Mexican food to a chef who had never tasted it before. I really wanted to enjoy it, but when the highlight of the meal was the grilled onions underneath the protein, something went wrong. I hope they improve the seasoning and overall flavor, because at the moment, there’s just nothing memorable about the food — except how forgettable it was. I’m guessing most of the reviews are by patrons that have never had authentic Mexican cuisine.
