Shared an amazing farewell/retiree ceremony here and loved this place! The owner was friendly and knowledgeable, his staff was also amazing, our waitress was attentive to a T, she knew exactly when to show up and when to give us space to decide or just relax. The drinks and food I just can't say enough good things about the taste and presentation. Appreciated the owner for explaining some of their procedures and the waitress for the specials. Truly a wonderful experience, a must return.
My first visit to Fresco Grill was a wonderful dining experience from the moment we entered this distinctly Italian atmosphere we were greeted by Leone the owner from a town south of Rome, then Alex our server on his first night on the job was friendly and provided excellent service! The Rack of Lamb was outstanding 👏 served on a bed of mashed potatoes and grilled squashes and carrots, and a luscious tasting sauce with fresh sprigs in rosemary. The Linguine Cioppino with fresh mussels, shrimp, clams, fish was great and a generous portion. Dessert was a Special for the night, a type of Cheesecake I've never seen or tasted before, not too sweet, melted in your mouth, then Alex surprised us saying dessert was on the house, complimentary from the owner as first time customers. I highly recommend Fresco Grill located in a pretty little village of shops and restaurants in Bonsall just off Highway 76 & Mission Rd not far from Interstate 15.
OMG, one of the best places I ever eat at. I had my kids 6 and 8 years old, and even they chose not to be on their iPads and just have a wonderful meal. Kids had pizza. I had ahie Tuna salad. Thanks to the owner, his staff, and the chef Stas. Everyone was so nice. Thank you for a wonderful meal. We will be back soon.
Great atmosphere, I really enjoyed the scenery and lighting, great place to take someone out to, and have a nice Italian dinner. Gnocchi and Lasagna were both fantastic. Loved the Creme Brulee as well. Recommend it if you're looking for some good Italian food in the area.
Is a nice place . Food is great sometimes even you can meet the owner he's very humble and hands on when it needs to be . There bread is good and I love their wine selection is great
We arrived upon closing due to an error on yelp. Andrea was the sweetest individual and still allowed us to dine there as my friend had just moved to the area. Andrea provided great service and we even had dessert!
Very nice ambience, food is wonderful, nice wine bar. Only issue we found was it was a hot evening, very hot and humid, doors were wide open, I asked the host/owner Leoni if the air was on inside, he looked puzzled, he said yes, but it's nice to have fresh air (fresco) you'll feel it at your booth. Ok, we did, however what happens when it's hot, there's food.... flies!! Didn't help we were next to a window. My husband kept a menu so he could swat away the flies ALL evening. We never got a table visit from owner or I would've told him, he probably would've just moved us!

Despite having two groups of three, the server automatically added the tip to both bills. The owner was willing to reverse it and let us set our own tip, but be aware even if you have multiple small groups, having more than five people will cause them to add the tip in proactively.
What a great hidden gem of a resturant. We sat in the bar for happy hour. My husband had the carbonara, and it was one of the best we've ever had. The egg yolk melt over the pasta was perfection. I had the eggplant, also delicious. Met the owner after, to talk about hosting a holiday dinner there. He was kind and accomodating. Looking forward to going back.
We celebrated our company Christmas Party last night with 20 people. It was amazing! The restaurant was lovely and the staff were terrific. They were very accomidating with our needs for extra tables to hold gifts. I highly recomend the restaurant for group events.
Excellent food, service and atmosphere! Easily one of the best Italian restaurants I’ve been to. Well worth the trip to Bonsall.

I had one of the best lunch experiences at Fresco Grill! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The staff was attentive, the service was quick, and the food was absolutely top-tier — fresh, flavorful, and made with care. What really made my visit special was getting to meet the owner, who took time out of his day to check in with customers and make sure everyone felt at home. That personal touch made all the difference. You can tell this place is built on passion and pride. I highly recommend Fresco Grill to anyone looking for not just a great meal, but a memorable dining experience. I’ll definitely be back!
Cute Italian spot near Fallbrook. The service was good, vegetarian friendly and great drinks. Recommend the bruschetta, mozzarella caprese, fettuccine Alfredo, pollo parmigiana, linguine mare mosso

Fresco Grill in Bonsall is a convenient Italian spot right off the 76 on your way to Fallbrook, with reasonable prices and a really lovely server, Sandy. She checked in on us just the right amount, skillfully managed our large group, and even found thoughtful wine substitutions when our first choice was sold out, such a pro and genuinely friendly. As for the food, it was pretty average overall. Most of us got lukewarm pasta dishes, which was a bummer, though my son’s pizza came out piping hot (win!). My eggplant parmigiana was a bit chewy, so it felt like the recipes might need a little refresh. The place definitely has potential, and with a few tweaks, it could be a real local gem.
Confusing corner spot for reservation seating and more confusion with language barrier with waitress. Great atmosphere but excessive bill with wine and cannolis flowing to freely. Remember better times...
First time dining at Fresco. We had a reservation for two and were seated promptly after arrival. The waiter brought bread and olive oil/balsamic vinegar for dipping. The water had a very unusual taste and smell to it. I couldn’t drink it. We ordered the Brussels sprouts as an appetizer, the pollo portofino and the stuffed pork chop valdestana. The food was ok. The vegetables were a bit on the undercooked side, very crunchy. The chicken was bland and too salty in my opinion. The pork chops was the best out of the two dishes. Portions were good. We skipped dessert. Service was fast.

We’ve been going to this restaurant for more than 15 years and have really enjoyed the food and ambiance here in the past — it’s always been delicious and well prepared. That said, the prices are some of the highest around, and unfortunately the service from two of our latest visits (same server) left us feeling unwelcome. For a restaurant at this price point, the experience should match the quality of the food, but the service has not reflected that. We truly hope the owner considers investing in more thorough training for the staff, as it could make a big difference. After the latest experience we’ve decided we won’t be returning.

First of all, the ambiance is wonderful. Whether you’re inside or outside, the restaurant feels very welcoming and comfortable and fairly upscale. The people are also wonderful! Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Very welcoming and knowledgeable. The food tasted good and was served in a reasonable amount of time, but unfortunately resulted in an evening of nasty food poisoning for yours truly. Also is a fairly expensive place for the quality of the food served.
The food was underwhelming. For example the calamari was soggy and unrecognizable as calamari tasting more like an undercooked frozen fishstick. The service was very good, which was the only bright spot in our visit.
I have been frequenting here since before their renovations -- at least 8 years. The owner is kind and welcoming, the food has always been very good, I like their patio and new decor. However, my reason for a big drop in stars is a new practice they developed that I find horrible for customers - if you pay cash its one price they list, but if you pay with a credit card YOU get charged 3.5% for your entire meal and they give you a different price (it shows you both prices on your receipt - price if you pay with cash, price if you pay with credit card). In addition of course to the 15% - 20% tip expected. Since when is basic payment option that any restaurant or retail store has as a part of their basic business operating expense the customer burden? (And I was a CEO of many companies, I well understand business expenses that get built-in to overall operating cost). It doesn't feel great to have a $250 meal tab for a family or group of friends, and suddenly see an additional 3.5% tacked on for credit card charge if we wont pay cash (so... are we all just supposed to get up from the table and go find a bank ATM across the street to get cash out and come back?). I get if this was a small mom and pop ice cream shop on a $4 ice cream where it's easy to pay cash. But at what I consider a nicer restaurant where it's usually well in the $150 - $300+ range, it feels tacky and insulting. Even the waitress mentioned that customers didn't like it and it was interfering with her tip amounts, too. I highly suggest the owner reconsider this practice. It feels like he's trying to run an all cash business to scam on taxes, and pushing that on his customers.

I wish I could rate the food a zero star. I don't know what's going on in the kitchen but it is definitely not the same food as in the past. Such a disappointment. Especially for the price. Hopefully Leone can figure it out because we will never go there again. We could have spent that money on four meals and cooked it ourselves at home even better. Really disappointing.
My daughter-in-law ordered me spaghetti with marinara sauce to go. It was way overdone. It literally stuck all together. I'm sorry to say this was the worst spaghetti I've ever had in my life. I was given some chibatta bread to go with it that was hard as a rock & was nearly impossible to break with my hands. I guess that was dipping sauce and a little black cup. That was very nasty Tasting as well. My daughter-in-law also had spaghetti and she said the two orders of spaghetti and a glass of wine is $70. That is outrageously overpriced. Not sure how you got a 4.4 rating when a simple spaghetti is as nasty as yours.
