What a view:) one of the best views of Boston downtown. Wine selection is amazing, with featuring different wine every month, and food was slightly different then usual Italian place, but very delicious:) great choices for different food desires;)
We had the most incredible experience at MIDA! The food was spectacular! Every bite was better than the next! The service was excellent and the atmosphere was incredible! We can’t wait to come back!
We had a great meal at MIDA! The staff were extremely attentive and the food was amazing. Eggplant parm was the best I’ve ever had. Gnocchi was soft and flavorful. The location is beautiful and the view of Boston can’t be beat.
Amazing harborside restaurant with incredible views and refreshing natural light. Reservations won’t be seated until the whole party arrives! You’ll wait at the bar which is chill, Eli was my bartender while I waited, friendly and fun guy. My server Josh was professional and attentive, good vibes. Their menu has a map of Italy with all the regions on it, cool to checkout where your food and wine originates from. Not a huge wine guy personally but the vibes here were too immaculate had to grab a glass just to soak it in. Got the paccheri bolognese, was soooo good. Literally the only thing I tried but I already only wanna keep getting this. Would recommend this spot for a date night, sunset, or relaxing evening.
MIDA in East Boston is truly one of my favorite dining spots. The views are absolutely stunning, offering a perfect backdrop for a memorable meal. The menu is thoughtfully curated with a variety of flavorful options, each dish crafted with care and creativity. The service is exceptional, with attentive staff that make you feel right at home. Whether you're a local or visiting, this location is definitely worth the trip—it stands out as a gem compared to others!
Best Tiramisu I’ve had , must try! Polenta was very good if you like Gorgonzola cheese, perfect bite. The shrimp pasta dish was surprisingly very tasty. No need to go in the NorthEnd, this was great service , not rushed at all, and you can enjoy and relax whilst eating your meal
Phenomenal Italian food, served by Abigail, super prompt, always refilling water, and helpful on selection. We did the Monday deal that was an excellent value (5 courses $80) and everything was superb. You could tell pasta was fresh made. The Arugula Pesto Burrata stole the show, and the risotto was the first one in a long time I thoroughly enjoyed!
MIDA is such a gem in Boston! 🍝 From the warm atmosphere to the incredible service, everything made the experience memorable. The pasta was fresh and full of flavor, the drinks were excellent, and every dish felt thoughtfully prepared. Perfect spot for a cozy dinner or a night out with friends, can’t wait to come back! ✨
Awesome dinner in a gorgeous space with an even better view. Everything we had was good but the cauliflower was kind of meh. The pork chop was phenomenal though! Great wine list too.
Everything was great. The pizza, eggplant parm, and tiramisu were the standouts. Of everything we had, I thought the bolognese was only okay. Great views too!
Everything was great, and the food was spectacular (rock shrimp pasta!), except for the front desk staff who were less than fully friendly. More information about parking on the website would also be helpful. But overall, because our server was great and the food super delicious, a 5-star dinner!
Had a great meal at Mida! The arancini were fantastic, and the meatballs were tasty, though a bit cold. Service was excellent, but the standout was the Bianca pizza—amazing! The Bolognese pasta was to die for. Definitely looking forward to returning!
Went here for a business dinner with my team members and one investor/ team member. This was my first time at Mida in the East Boston location. The vibe and atmosphere of this restaurant is rlly what sets it apart from the rest. The sail boats on the water, The North End/ Wharf across the water and the beautiful ambient lighting inside the restaurant reflecting on the tall glass windows panes. Perfect place to come and get some appetizers with a friend, a date or to conduct some business. For appetizers id recommend the Aranchini, a crispy rice fritter with tomato sauce at the bottom of the dish and cauliflower served with a sweet/ spicy orange sauce. Rlly good. Nice and light but fulfilling. For main entrée, eggplant parm is served just like a lasagna, which I love. Presentation was great. Was good, nothing spectacular. My team members weren’t crazy about their dishes either, they liked the appetizers better. I will say we were outside and it was a chilly summer night so our food got cool quick. Good, not great. Open to trying more things on their menu for sure. Server: Henry was a boss, made sure to take care of us and respect the fact that we also were also talking the majority of the time. Quick and rlly communicative. Love a waiter who can make it rlly easy and give options. Service was 10/10. Thanks Henry ☺️ Go here for the view, service and appetizers :)
We made a reservation in the evening and were seated immediately upon arrival. We ordered the Arancini and Glazed Duck Wings to start, followed by the Smoked Short Rib Lasagna and a Cheese Pizza. Everything was delicious and the service was excellent! Amazing views of the city. Highly recommend!!!
Was very good. Food was great, service was friendly and organized. The views were fantastic. Would recommend wholeheartedly!
Tucked away at the end of the pier on Clippership Wharf, MIDA East Boston offers a serene dining experience with panoramic views of the downtown Boston skyline. On a quiet spring evening, we found ourselves at a table outside MIDA, tucked into the curve of Jeffries Point with the Boston skyline keeping watch. The air was still, the view was clean, and the hum of the city felt far away — a well-earned pause. Service started strong, the kind where water glasses stay full and questions get answered before you ask them. But once the plates hit and the food was gone, so was the urgency. It took a bit to flag someone down for a box and the check, but nothing unforgivable. The food, though — that’s why you go. A New Haven-style clam pie with a crust you could hear crack as you tore it apart. Clams, bacon, and peppers all dialed in, balanced without being precious. The short rib lasagna was rich, smoky, and unapologetic — the kind of plate that leans into winter even if the air says spring. And just when you think it’s too much, the mushroom pappardelle slides in like a soft-spoken friend — delicate, buttery, with garlic whispering in the background. Even the roasted carrots hit right. Roasted to the edge of caramelization, resting on a swipe of tangy sumac yogurt that should be jarred and sold by the pint. Portions? Exactly what they should be. Full, but not fighting-your-pants full. If you like your nights quiet and your food thoughtful, and if you’re into the slow-burn charm of East Boston’s waterfront — MIDA’s worth it.
I had dinner at Mida on a Thursday evening. We had reservations and they sat us about 10 minutes after our time. We sat outside and our server was amazing! The food was delicious and the view was beautiful. I ordered the gnocchi pasta and my boyfriend ordered the cheese pizza. The pizza came out first and then my pasta took about 45 minutes. (It was worth the wait) As someone who works in the industry, I’m super understanding when it comes to these things. Our server was super apologetic, even though it wasn’t her fault. They gave me another glass of wine, and two desserts on the house since we had to wait so long. It was so nice of her to do that for us and we will definitely be coming back if we are ever in the area. It’s such a good date night spot with lots of fun cocktails and food options. A must try in Boston!!
The food is absolutely amazing! Delicious! The quality of the ingredients and the attention to details Is on top! We had an amazing experience with great service, beautiful cocktail and it’s a beautiful environment (interior design on point). The music is not too loud either. It’s a 10/10. I recommend to locals and tourists!
Mida is a gourmet type of Italian restaurant that is excellent! The food is superb and the atmosphere is amazing. The bar is friendly and lively. It is all windows, on the Boston harbor with views of the skyline and the sunset… 10 out of 10.
This was an excellent place for a date and to celebrate some life goals! Really everything we had was incredible but I'd say one stand out was the paccheri bolognese. The crispyness of the broccoli just added such a fine touch. Amazing sauce. Eating a delicious dinner while overlooking the Boston skyline, doesn't get much better than that.
Located in East Boston this restaurant created a beautiful memory. The food was flavorful and served in satisfying proportions. There were picturesque views with a back drop of the city. There was a choice of indoor or outdoor seating. The prices were middle/standard dependent on what is being ordered. Parking was limited. I recommend reservations.
The view alone is worth a visit—but the food seals the deal. The cacio e pepe was creamy, peppery bliss, and the risotto hit every note. Service was warm but not overbearing, and the vibe was laid-back but still felt elevated. Great cocktails, great timing, and honestly, I left already planning my return.
Awesome Italian restaurant, everything was made fresh and the pizza was great. Great location in eastie, can't wait to go back to sit outside. I forgot to get a picture of the apps but we got arincini, bruschetta, and focaccia. All were delicious. They make you put in your apps and entrees at the same time so I felt rushed to make a decision. They had an extensive wine list and our friends gave a big approval to their espresso martinis.
Such a chic, modern, inviting atmosphere.. the menu amazing choice and a mix of classic and a modern twist on Italian.. the staff are so friendly, efficient and professional.. good drinks selection.. the view on the water is great especially at night… I left full and satisfied. I will return.
I've loved my experiences at the South End and Newton locations of MIDA, so I was excited to visit this latest location. The interior, as well as the view of the waterfront are absolutely stunning, and there are tables outside for when the weather gets warmer. We made a reservation for 4 on a Sunday evening and the place was packed. There are tables for all sorts of group sizes, as well as seating at the bar. The service was quick and friendly. We split the North Shore Fritto Misto, Paccheri Bolognese, Clam Pie, and Sausage Pizza. This was a good amount of food for the four of us, and I even had trouble finishing my last slice of pizza. The prices are fair, and I was even surprised that we didn't pay more. Overall, MIDA has become one of my favorite local franchises, and I'll definitely be back to enjoy a great meal and (when the time comes) warm weather.
I took my wife here for our 10th anniversary This place has everything, The atmosphere, the view of the ocean, and the City of Boston in lights. The ambience inside is great you can also sit outside as well. The food was absolutely delicious! I would definitely eat there again and recommend anybody go there! Two things that really stood out for us, were the staff. Every single person that we met was so friendly so hospitable we were checked on constantly. And not in a bad way. You felt welcome like you knew everybody. And when we got our check we were so impressed at how reasonable the tab was! This place is a must try if you have Italian food and eating on the water and great friendly service!
I would give 4 1/2 Stars if Maps allowed it but it doesn't... The view over Boston Harbor in downtown is unbeatable especially at sunrise, though the restaurant isn't open then when the sun reflects in all the glass of the downtown buildings. However at sunset it is not infrequent to have an equally gorgeous view. Two of us had the Bay of Fundy salmon with the caramelized beans,, and it was DELICIOUS. The skin of the salmon was perfectly scaled and roasted just to light crisp, while the flesh was tender and juicy not dry. Our third person had the casarese which, although it did not indicate spice, arrived way too spicy; are waitress was extremely helpful as was one of her male colleagues, and they promptly brought a substitut dish without the spicy sauce. We had arrived without a reservation around 6:00 p.m. and had been told we'd have to wait 15 to 20 minutes and have to vacate our table by 7:45 for future reservations. Still the staff lettuce finish the replacement dish until 8:00 p.m. most gracefully. The young sommelier woman recommended us a couple of options of wine and the one that we chose turned out to be absolutely marvelous. I confess I don't go out to restaurants all that often, but the service at muddy was above exceptional, comparable to some of the best restaurants in Europe. Thank you very much to everyone 🙏👍🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Our server was the nice lady with the green hair. I unfortunately forget her name but she was the best! Great service, great food, great atmosphere. Went here for a first date and it was a great time. Highly recommend!
Incredible food and incredible views. Very hard to decide which was our least favorite dish we ordered for the night. We enjoyed everything we ordered. Highly recommend the tiramisu dessert and foccia side item. Wait staff was excellent as well. Will be coming back as much as we can
We had celebrated our engagement dinner here! The view was beautiful and the service was exceptional! We felt very special, the drinks were delicious, and the ambiance was wonderful.
Went here after getting proposed to on the pier, very nice restaurant, the food was amazing. The Host gave us a free desert for our celebration so kind of him. Wasn’t expensive for the quality of food and the atmosphere. Look forward to coming back again :)
This is my first time going to Mida and let me just start off by saying everything was absolutely AMAZING. The food was absolutely phenomenal. But the best part was our waitress, Annabelli, I believe that's how her name was, she was just the absolute best. Everything she recommended was AMAZING ! I would 100% go back and go to her. I have already referred my friends to go there.
I had an amazing time but the managers there where kind of mean, I think Carla was there or something like that.. well our server was amazing I forgot her name but she was super nice super pretty and very accommodating.. the food is pretty good and the drinks are good as well. I just think the management needs to be better in terms of how they deal with their costumers. Other than that I highly recommend this place.
The food here is just absurdly good every single time. From the ever-changing wine list to the delicious pizzas & pastas, you simply can’t go wrong and don’t even get me started on the focaccia. The beautiful view & stellar service is just an added perk really. I highly recommend!
I was favorably impressed by this restaurant. The view is definitively what makes the difference, but also the staff is attentive. As for the food, an Italian restaurant in the US will never be comparable to those (of the same level/class) in Italy, but being in Boston I cannot complain.
This is the place you take family or friends when you want to impress. The views are expansive and make it one of the best spots to enjoy a great meal while taking in the Boston skyline. Everything we ordered was excellent, from the pizza and pasta to the desserts. Each dish was well prepared and satisfying. The service was efficient and friendly throughout the meal. The staff were knowledgeable and offered helpful recommendations that made the experience even better.
Leaving the restaurant had me feeling like a MIDA ‘nother reservation. I was lost in the sauce of my bolognese until my fabulous waiter (Name Connor too) saved me with the other exquisite recommendation he had. I felt like it was the supper with all the plates and drinks coming my way. Connor was so fond of the connection in name that he made sure we didn’t leave without ordering the tiramisu. He simply could not miss. Great time!
First grab drinks at the bar for a service was amazing. The hostess was pretty awful as she completely forgot to see us until I went back up to her, asking for an update. Our waitress was amazing. Food was amazing and wine was very good.
In a huge group for dinner. Outstanding service. Never waited for a drink or service. Food was solid but not extraordinary however it was a fixed group so it's hard to assess completely. The friendly staff and location with a view of the city are the strongest reason to go. Bar was spot on as well
We visited MIDA East Boston for their Mangia Monday, and the food really delivered. The cacio e pepe was rich and peppery without being too heavy, and the risotto was creamy and full of flavor. The salad was a refreshing and well-balanced starter. Sadly, we never received the bread, which we were looking forward to. The biggest drawback was the pacing—there were long gaps between dishes, water refills were slow, and we had to flag someone down just to order another round of cocktails. You could tell the staff was stretched thin, which made the experience feel a little disjointed at times. Still, the setting helps make up for it. The view of the harbor and planes taking off is absolutely worth a star on its own. Despite a few service snags, the food and atmosphere make MIDA a spot we’d return to—especially on a Monday.
Extremely nice location in east Boston. Parking is difficult but the view on the bay and Boston at the sunset and in the nite is amazing. The food is very well presented and fairly Italian. Both appetizers were great an delicious. The gnocchi cacio e pepe not so good. The flavor of the potate gnocchi was hidden by the tons of butter (there is butter in the cacio e pepe!!). Overall a good experience to try again.
Beautiful place with an incredible view especially at sunset. My main concern is that when the waiter came to our table to greet us he explained that he would take the entire tables complete order to ensure that the kitchen could keep everything on schedule. I am fine with that and completely understand. Tonight's experience didn't seem to work like that. They brought my meal to me without the other 3 meals for the rest of the group. It was between 10 and 15 minutes before the rest of the food made it to the table. I believe he could tell I was not happy with that but he did not apologize or say anything about it. Then after we finished our dinner he brought dessert menus to the table but only brought 3 and did not offer me a menu. Just my thoughts on our dining experience.
Enjoyed this place a lot. The views are stunning and the restaurant atmosphere is great. The food is fantastic, maplebrook burrata is a must try! The menu is quite concise and perfect. Everything was top notch!
Right by the water this is a great place for dinner. We got dinner here with some friends. The place was not too busy and we were probably the last one there before closing. The service was great and fast. I got the roasted chicken which was pretty good and tasty. The flavor was good and the chicken was perfectly seasoned. We also got the paccheri bulognese which was equally good and tasty. It is hard to recommend one over the other but I feel inclined towards the chicken. We also got the cauliflower on the side which was pretty good. I ended with a tiramisu which was nice. Overall a great place with great service
We recently visited Mida to celebrate a birthday, and while the restaurant offers a beautiful environment, lovely views, and genuinely delicious food, friendly staffs to help set up our table with high chairs , our overall experience was affected by the service we received at our table. Unfortunately, the waitress assigned to us felt rushed and a bit dismissive. She came by repeatedly to clear items while we were still eating, which made us feel pressured and uncomfortable throughout the meal. For a special occasion, we had hoped for a little warmer touch. At most fine dining restaurants, it’s common to receive a small complimentary dessert or acknowledgment for a birthday, but there was no gesture here. Instead, we felt hurried to place our order and finish our plates. What made this more noticeable was that other staff members around us appeared relaxed, friendly, and engaging with their tables, which contrasted sharply with our experience and left us feeling somewhat unwelcome. While Mida has strong potential thanks to its atmosphere and cuisine, the service we received did not meet expectations—especially given the price point. For that reason, we wouldn’t choose to return, as there are other restaurants that offer a similar menu with far better hospitality.
This is a tricky review since it’s their first week. I’ll return and adjust the rating if things change. We had a 7:15 pm reservation and didn’t get seated until 8:00. Unacceptable. The food service was very slow. We got our appetizer at 8:45-8:50 and finally dinner at about 9:20 pm. Luckily, we live nearby and didn’t have after dinner plans. Never expected to eat 2 hours after my reservation time. The inside decor and view are gorgeous. This place will be a hot spot for sure, especially if they get their act together. The food was very good. But I was shocked they didn’t offer a bread basket or at least the choice to buy one. The hosts and wait staff were very friendly but really stressed out.
Been looking forward to trying this place for a long time. Boy did it disappoint. Awesome location with terrific views, nice outside patio, not sure if the 80 guests outside in a private party tonight would agree since it was and cold and rainy. We sat down and order glass of wine, a Diet Coke and bread. 30 minutes after two reminders we received the bread and red wine. We were told that the waiters were changed out causing the delay. After asking a third person for a Diet Coke, I received one after 40 minutes, and was told it would be removed from the bill. It was not. No biggie only $4, but still did they get it from the Coke Factory in Pennsylvania? Super limited menu. We ordered fried calamari, not bad fairly good. My friend ordered the Gnocchi, horrible. Beware don’t order them, they taste like nothing. I ordered the Paccheri Bolognese, which was very good. So one very good dish, one ok dish, one not good dish. Same batting average as most Red Sox players. Great spot to enjoy the view and have a drink. Fun atmosphere with a busy crowd. Just bring your patience.
We dined at MIDA on Monday evening with a 7:30 reservation. The food was excellent and truly the highlight of the night. Unfortunately, the service did not match the quality of the food. Our server was not very friendly, and the overall interaction felt awkward throughout the meal. For a restaurant of this caliber, his appearance also felt unprofessional—wearing a casual T-shirt and having messy hair—which stood out in a negative way. We were a party of six and added one additional guest. While we understand that last-minute changes can be inconvenient, we were seated very tightly in a booth despite noticing other tables that appeared to be available, which made the experience uncomfortable. Additionally, the server randomly asked whose birthday it was. When we asked if the restaurant does anything for birthdays, his response was a blunt “Noooooo,” which came across as rude and dismissive. The interaction felt unnecessary and slightly ignorant, and it left us feeling uncomfortable. Overall, the food was excellent, but the service and seating experience took away from what could have been a great evening.
The worst restaurant we ever been. Our 5th anniversary celebration was ruined and all night too. My husband and I got sick from homemade pasta. It was very spicy and no homemade taste at all. We tried to be polite and give a try of a different kind of italian homemade pasta but I wish we could tell the server that wasn’t good. The service was ok. So sad, is a nice restaurant with spectacular view of Boston. I will never return back. And recommend not to order homemade pasta.
Idk where to start, place is overall just not it in any way. Had reservation had to wait 15 minutes, you could tell the staff just had no clue what was going on. Food took 1.5 hours and came out cold even after the waiter said it would be “hot and delicious” furthest thing from that. Braised beef had a bottle of bbq slapped on it. Friends for short rib lasagna and was cold. Was there for 4 hours, which asinine. Server was nice which was the only perk. Everyone got sick later that night and the next day. Vibes were totally off. Don’t waste your time or money
