This spot is awesome! We celebrated a birthday there last Saturday and everything was perfect. The food was great and the service was spot on. Marissa our host was so professional and made sure our party was a success. I highly recommend renting this spot for your next party. A big thank you to Vick the owner for everything!
This place is great. The food came out fast and everything was delicious. We didn’t have to wait with two families and 4 little kids. Staff were all friendly and service was excellent. It’s near a firehouse so lots of Fire Fighters were eating breakfast there so you know the food has to be good!!
Stopped in with three friends after the Saturday farmers market for lunch and a chat. It was a great experience all around! The only minor frustration was the lack of a bike rack, especially since the diner is right off a bike lane and near the market, which draws lots of cyclists. Would love to see one added! The staff were super friendly and our food came out quickly. I got the Hamburger Salad. It was an excellent portion, tasted great, and definitely a bang for your buck. I’d suggest tossing the salad in the dressing beforehand instead of serving the dressing in a to go container. It’s hard to mix in the bowl because it’s packed (in a good way!). Also, would be helpful to list what dressings are available. I ended up choosing ranch and it was great. Reilly got the Mediterranean Salad and loved it. Hannah had the club sandwich, which was so filling her boyfriend had to help her finish it. She especially loved the fries. We all had an Ardent IPA, and while the server had to check the tap list a couple times, they were super accommodating. A printed beer list might be a nice addition. Overall, 5 out of 5. It’s a great value and it’s great food. Also great service. I’ll definitely be back!
Oysters, even out of season, were excellent. The waiter was very attentive and polite. I was amazed how he kept everything in his head to place my sister friend and my orders. We asked so many questions . He relaide our orders exactly as we asked.
The food is delicious. This is a breakfast/lunch restaurant. It closes at 3 p.m.
Probably the best burger anywhere in Richmond. This place serves a 1/2 pound steak burger cooked to perfection with a generous side of crispy, fresh cut shoe string fries. The onion rings are also excellent. I've also had the Reuben and the Club, both were very good. I would have given the food 5 stars but someone at our table ordered a side of mixed vegetables and they were straight out of a can. Given the trouble that they go through to make most everything else fresh it was very disappointing to see that sad side of mixed vegetables come to the table but I guess it could have been her fault for ordering such a thing at a place known for fantastic burgers.
Our brunch was tasty! Breakfast burrito for hubby and Greek Benedict with grits for me. I will say the hollandaise was too salty but the poached eggs were perfect! We would love to go back!
My family and I were in town for an event, we didn't want the iHOP that was walking distance from the hotel, so we googled top rated breakfast and this resturant populated. It was SO GOOD!!! I hate that I didn't take photos of our food. The pancakes were 10/10! Egg scrambler 10/10! Yogurt parfait 10/10! Bacon 8/10 (it was very crispy and pretty thin, but delicious)!
***PLACE CLOSES AT 3PM EVERY DAY - STOPS SERVING BREAKFAST AT 11AM.*** DESPITE ALL ONLINE REVIEWS, BREAKFAST STOPS AT 11AM. THE RESTATURANT SHUTS DOWN AT 3PM EVERYDAY.**** very important info there. google searches and no reviews in google or yelp or their website mention this. breakfast stops at 11am. restaurant closes at 3pm. in fact, all online info says they stop breakfast at 3pm and are open until 11pm. these are incorrect. went in at about 1:30pm on a weekday. went their specifically for breakfust/brunch. after the initial disappointment in the online research i just did, i quickly got over that. It has a dozen booths, a bar with stools, and an covered heated/cooled outside patio! everyone there was awesome, very welcoming. has old richmond photos on the wall too. kids had the kids grilled cheese, and chicken tenders. they looked good. the fries are all shoe-string style. I had the bbq chicken panini with shoe-string fries. it was awesome! the burgers looked great too. The signature house drinks are really good, with real fruit and not super expensive. i think their most expensive was $8..which for a house drink is cheap. I had something with blueberrys and rum and punch with vodka and strawberrys. I will definingly be back for breakfast, or lunch!
Like a diner with great food options! Love the changes in decor- simple and modern. Got a blt with fries and my friend got a burger salad. Portions are HUGE! My bacon was nice and crispy, fresh lettuce and tomatoes and I could not stop eating the shoestring fries! Salad was huge with a perfectly cooked hand formed patty on top. Even had lime for our waters. The waiter was a really pleasant young man who took great care of us. Reasonable prices too. Def will return!
The breakfast was great! Fresh ingredients, we were seated right away and the service was great as well. Will go again.
We love brick house. Nice selection of food, never had anything bad here. Nice atmosphere, great staff, great location. I love the black and bleu burger! I just wish they were open for dinner!!!
Great breakfast. Had a combo with pancakes and eggs. SO had eggs Benedict, and it was delicious. Served hot-no time under a warming light. Well come again
The food I ordered was delicious, I had the croissant French toast and home fries. The biscuits were also phenomenal. The sausage gravy was nothing special but still very good.
Fried chicken skillet got the gravy on the side and chose pancakes over toast. I am not a breakfast person and really enjoyed this meal. Great service, friendly staff, clean environment and parking lot. No pictures of the meat lovers omelette he got because he ate it very quickly and got the choice to get rye bread which was a treat. I would recommend this spot right off the interstate as a great breakfast place and I can’t wait to return for a burger off the lunch menu. Call and check the times for breakfast versus lunch because it varies.
A sister restaurant to the one in Midlothian (and two other locations, I believe), but with a different menu. Great server ( a young transplant from Suffolk) and the sandwiches were massive and tasty. I had to take part of mine with me, lol. Currently serving breakfast and lunch only. Well worth a try.
This was our second time here, and this diner is an absolute gem. Everything tasted great, came out hot, and the portions were generous. Our server today (1/31/2026) was amazing and answered all of our questions with ease. Unfortunately, I don’t remember her name it may have been Melanie she had bright colored hair, so if you see her, you’ll know (I’ll definitely be requesting her section next time!). She was attentive without hovering and made us feel welcome from the moment we sat down.
We came here on a whim and it was good. Clean and simple menu. Food was hot and delicious. Chicken and waffles 10 out of 10.

Went here with my husband for breakfast this morning. Our waitress was amazing! The food was delicious. We will be back.
Exceptional lunch experience!! 😳 A little tricky to find, but well worth the effort! Great value 💲 and delicious food, lots of choices, all served up with a smile 😊! Both my wife and I asked for take-out boxes BEFORE we started eating!! The waitress said "order anything on the menu, you'll like it" and she was right. The salads 🥗 served to the couple next to us looked fabulous! 😋
I've never been disappointed with this restaurant. If you're looking for good food, good service and a good place to eat. This is what you are looking for.
Went here with some friends. Service was great, food was excellent. Their corned beef hash is top notch. I suggest adding onions and green peppers (the way my momma used to make). Their waffles and pancakes have a good batter. Eggs are cooked perfectly to order. I will definitely eat here again.

Chilly day so ordered hot tea. The server brought the box of tea bags for us to select. She also helped with sandwich recommendations when we asked. Food was delicious with large portions! Server was delightful, friendly and funny.
Great diner vibe for sure. Food was really good. I had a chicken fried steak with eggs in a scramble bowl. They nailed the over-easy eggs. Plenty of parking too, which can be hard to find in that area.
Great food at diner. Options for kids were nice and sizable portions at more than fair prices. The gyro nachos and Reubens were so good. House made chips are super thin, crunchy and well seasoned and liked the sweet potato fries. Would definitely come back!
This place was fantastic! We are brunch here, help was great friendly and attentive. Though small the Atmosphere was interesting, then we got the food. The food was second to none this day! They do food right. We were a party of 7 and everyone of us agreed our food was amazing. Eggs perfect, corned beef hash perfect, biscuits huge and perfect.

The food was quite delicious.I was looking for somewhere to go because other options were full because of veterans day.I managed to enjoy some really good cinnamon swirl pancakes with home potatoes baked in apple juice. If you want something delicious, come here, plenty of space and seating
Ist time here. It was the kitchen 64 restaurant before. Now a great place to enjoy. The food was delicious, and the service was excellent. Give them a try. If the price suits you. You'll be back. Cheers, y'all Hat Ok, so I went back and ordered the Brickhouse sub sandwich. Well, let's just say the meat was soooo thin it reminded me of my father making me a sandwich back in the depression. Come on, guys, load it up! Of course, drinks and ambiance were superb. Gonna go again, try summin else. Salads are amazing. Hat
My adult son and I were looking for a cozy place with diner-type fare for a Saturday lunch when we stumbled across Brickhouse in our search. We were not disappointed. If you're hungry for a great sandwich, they've got you covered. Subs, burgers, open-faced, ciabatta dips, wraps, paninis, along with steak, seafood, pasta, chicken, and salads. The portions were quite generous. The club I ordered was fresh and flavorful, and the fries were piping hot, crispy-crunchy, and delicious. The staff was wonderful! From the friendly smile and hello when we walked in, to our cordial and efficient waitress, the whole diner had a warm, comfortable vibe. I'll definitely be a repeat customer!
Ordered children’s size pancakes, crispy bacon and one egg scrambled. Took a minute but the order came. Bacon crispy, egg scrambled six pancakes cold. I was very hungry so began eating the pancake. Called server and told him pancakes were cold. He asked what I wanted him to do since I was eating them. Asked me if I wanted him to reheat the pancakes. They were tough and barely warm. Told him he could bring me five since I had eaten one. Then told him to take the whole plate and bring me fresh pancakes. The pancakes were hot and fluffy as pancakes should be. I like this restaurant and will return. I find that they are inconsistent but when the food is good, it’s good.
Brick house has a pretty good breakfast selection, I personally like the combos, especially when you add the hash, MMM good. My friends usually get one of the breakfast skillets, french toast or an omelet. Service has usually been good, food has always been good. It has on occassion been rather loud inside with all the hard surfaces, but I think they are working on that. All in all a decent place for breakfast, we have yet to try it for lunch or dinner. Fair prices good food, parking is good as well.
Overall Experience, 4.5/5: It gives off a sightly modern diner vibe. Would definitely come back just for the food alone. Food/Drink, 4.5/5: We ordered the chicken and waffles, cinnamon swirl pancakes, and egg whites. The chicken and waffles were seasoned and cooked perfectly—the batter was flavorful, and the chicken stayed juicy. The pancakes were huge and tasted amazing, with just the right amount of sweetness. Even the egg whites were well-cooked, not runny or wet. Pricing, 4.6/5: Considering the portion sizes and taste, the price was pretty reasonable. We spent around $50 for the two of us including tip. Service, 4.7/5: He was quite attentive, though he initially got my coffee order wrong. However, he checked in on us multiple times, which was appreciated. Aesthetic/Atmosphere, 3.5/5: The atmosphere was laid-back, and it felt like a spot where locals would drop in. The space is divided into two sections: a bar area and a cozy brunch section.
The taste was great. It just was not hot enough for me. I came specifically for grits. They surprised me, they were good. I’m from the south and our grits are very creamy. The server got me hot water and we were popping like popcorn. Thank you for the experience. Please use heated plates or figure out a way to keep your food warmer longer.
Please help me write a review of brick house diner. We stopped by on a Saturday morning after early voting. I think the atmosphere was good. It had an authentic vibe for me and didn’t just feel like people doing diner cosplay. I got the loaded biscuits and gravy and added a side of potatoes. The biscuit wasn’t perfect but people can have off days. Service was pretty good. Coffee was good. I will come again.

Today was my first time trying them out. We got food to go but it came pretty quickly based on how busy they were inside. I got a croissant sandwich and waffle. The sandwich was extra well done and not great. We definitely should’ve checked before driving off. It would’ve been tasty had it not been overcooked and dried out. They cook the bacon in the egg, like an omelette; it would’ve been really good with a sauce too. The Belgium waffle was good. All and all, it was ok. I would go again but probably try something different. Prices were very decent too.
We stopped in for brunch, this was my first time here and I wouldn’t say it was bad but i have had better dining experiences, the food came out relatively fast , however the service was pretty slow, I ordered French toast and perhaps I should of picked something different . Ordered our breakfast and after our meal waited for over 20 minutes to cash out. I don’t think that’s acceptable. No recommendations , and a basic what do you want to drink….. first , what do you have ? I wanted to give them a better rating but in my honest opinion they have to step it up. Both ladies seemed bothered to be serving , I like to feel welcome when I go out to eat, I am not that picky nor did we send things back. Maybe one day I’ll try it again and give them an opportunity to correct it.
We went here for my birthday! Excellent food and received food fast . As well on the menu did not see any listing of drinks they have to offer . I suggest the menu writing being clear , bigger for those who vision is not the best . Only thing I would recommend is the servers to receive more customer service training . I am use to servers coming to ask me is everything alright or do I need a refill or anything else . Also , I had asked for cranberry juice and had to ask again cause forgot plus as well when I had first ordered asked for grits and did not receive my side of grits. I had the Fried Country Steak with Over medium eggs , pancakes , and potatoes with glass of water and cranberry juice .

Food was fine, but we had some really weird interactions with the server. She only addressed my boyfriend, placed all the food infront of him, only asked him if he needed anything and turned and walked away before I could ask for hot sauce or anything. My boyfriend ended up having to ask for things for me because the server literally would not look at me. It was really strange as it was my first time there, maybe she was just having an off day. Overall just an uncomfortable experience.
i haven't been to this restaurant so I came here for breakfast before my day started. The place is nice and roomie so there plenty of leg room. Sat down and order the meatlovers omelette with pancakes. Food arrived fast, good but not good. The omelette was flat? Didn't understand what is the difference between getting omelette from IHOP to this place? Must be the cook? Or cutting portions? Don't know but it was not good to see. Eat a portion of pancakes and it was not done. Very disappointed to start my breakfast. So it seems a good place to eat at, I won't be coming back.

Came with 30 min so asked if they would mind serving us. We would have happily gone elsewhere. They said they would seat us. We came in and the waitress was obviously annoyed to serve us and didn’t even greet us. I asked for a coffee. It came in a chipped and dirty cup. Mine had a hair on the lip of it. With that we decided that we were obviously not welcomed and paid for our drinks and left. Having worked in the restaurant industry I know that the expectation used to be to seat guests until the closing time and treat them well. I suppose that has changed.
If I could give service a zero I would. Ordered a pick up order and was told it’ll be ready in 10-15 mins. My order was placed at 10:37am. Left my house right away because it takes 12 minutes to get there. I arrived paid for my food at 10:51am got the food at 11:05am and then realized they forgot the side of grits. So I went back in and politely asked for the grits that came with the combo, then a lady with facial piercings told me that my order didn’t come with grits. I grabbed the menu and pointed to her that it did then she goes “okay which side do you want?” So I politely asked “which side of grits?” Then she looked at me like I was crazy even though we’ve said grits, but I just confirmed “the side of grits.” She got the grits and then as I was walking out she yelled “RUDE!” I’m wondering how am I in the wrong for asking for something I had paid for? I was never rude or impolite. I never said anything bad about them. I hate this place. Never going back and with my influence in Richmond I will tell everyone this place sucks. You make your paying customers feel like crap.
I wish I could rate the food instead I have to rate the terrible service (or lack there of) from the wait staff. First, the hostess did not greet us upon walking in. Even after speaking to her she ignored us. When we asked to sit at the bar she told us to sit and she’d be right over. After 10 mins neither she or any of the other 4 waitresses said anything to us. After walking by us MULTIPLE times we decided to leave. Even then no one spoke a word to us. To whoever reads this, the wait staff the worked the morning of 1/19/26 were not welcoming to your gusts.
