Had a great time here for a birthday gathering. Good atmosphere and even better crepes. We went with the savory options and they didn’t disappoint. Lasagna, the cowboy and the carbonara were all great options. The champion soup was unbelievable! Will definitely be back to try more and for more champion soup!
Oh My Goodness! After having stopped at the extremely disappointing and extremely rude bakery next door, this was a stop of convenience. I'm so glad we did! Ordered the Mousse Chocolat and be still my heart! Delicious! I wish I had thought to capture a photo before we dug in! Service was quick, and friendly! We would definitely recommend.
Too delicious! I ordered the BBQ crepe and it has a very rich flavor! The tres leches one was also delicious. The place is lovely inside, it has a very relaxing vibe.
Been here a few times, and the curry lamb crepe is my favorite. They have some amazing dessert crepes too. They are very large and filling - Very worth the money. Higly recommend, especially if you are starving after a local hike!
I had a wonderful 50th birthday celebration here with my girlfriends making taking. WOW the crepes were delicious. And Paula our server made everything perfect! Thank you!!
We stumbled on this spot by accident, and it was fire. Our first plates? Straight-up delicious. I’m pretty sure I could’ve crushed more than three! The vibe’s on point too..super chill atmosphere, nice people running the joint! Perfect spot to kick it with the right crew, eat, and just vibe. You can hang inside or out, both solid.
What an amazing place. The food was delicious, staff just awesome and the Holiday decor really put us in the spirit. And I can’t forget to mention the food presentation!!
Great ambience and service and an amazing selection of crepes. I got the mousse au chocolat crepe and it was incredible and my friend got the cowboy and was a big fan. Highly recommend!
The food is superb, very nice melding of flavors and visuals. The decor is quaint, very cool and quite comfortable. The outdoor patio has a nice looking fountain in the middle of the courtyard type setting. Just a lovely experience! Our server was excellent.
Really great atmosphere, super cute for date night. Food was good, drinks were delicious and service was great. Highly recommended.
A wonderful experience for Valentines. Food was really good too. Very nice service too. Will be back.
1st time visiting with my fiancée. Live jazz band on Saturdays. Crepes were excellent!, bottle chocolate and tiramisu!! Highly recommend
Huge menu, great service and wonderful music. I walked in to Summertime, which was one of my mom's favorite songs.
I wanted to try something different, and Les Crepes did not disappoint. I ordered the Burger Crepe, and my wife had the Cabanara! The portions are large, so make sure your hungry. The fries were great, but there was a lot of seasoning, and I would ask for the sauce on the side for Burger Crepe. I highly recommend this restaurant.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely phenomenal! From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel so welcome from the warm smiles, friendly conversation, and service that went above and beyond. You can tell they truly care about their guests. The food? Out of this world. Every crêpe was perfectly cooked, beautifully presented, and packed with fresh, flavorful ingredients. Whether you go sweet or savory, you’re in for a treat. It’s rare to find a place where both the customer service and the food are 10/10, but Les Crêpes nails it. Carytown is lucky to have them, we’ll definitely be back! Katherine helped us celebrate a really special day and was incredibly attentive to our needs!
Delicious crepe! We ordered the salmon, hamburger, and strawberry+banana+Nutella. All of them are delicious, but next time I’d probably skip the savory crepes and try more sweet crepes. Steak salad is good, but not amazing. The restaurant ambience is cozy, and the staff are friendly.
everything I have here is always so good. The creme brulee crepe was insanely good though!!
We visit Carytown, we eat at Les Crepes. The crepes are ALWAYS top notch. Service this trip was a little slower, but the waiter was kind- it was not very busy. I wanted a crepe that was savory with a little sweet. The Cocorico did not disappoint. My husband had the Lamb Curry which was incredibly flavorful. Maybe one day I will try a sweet crepe. :)
Absolutely wonderful! The crepes were THE best I’ve ever had in the US (obviously Paris has the best) the servers were wonderful, and the restaurant was beautiful. I can’t say enough good things about this place.
This place has the best coffee! The dulce de leche crepe is sooo good and yummy. Also there are having live music on Saturdays which is great. We really enjoy going there.
Tasty food and good service but could have been better. We waited a while for service when the inside was practically empty. I really enjoyed the dessert crepes. Update: after coming back on another day I changed my review to 5 stars because the service was prompt and excellent. Food was exceptionally good - had the carbonara and chocolate mousse crepes.
The menu has a good selection and I saw more than a few options that made me think I'd be revisiting. I couldn't have chosen better to start, the curried lamb crepes were amazing. The portions absolutely justified the price, and the flavor was perfect. Our server was courteous, timely, and very upbeat despite the rush of business.
Pretty damn good, and my expectations weren't high. Think I got the chicken crepe with lemongrass sauce, and it was really really good. Not heavy at all which I was happy about. Everyone who goes there should get the tiramisu crepe for dessert, even if it's shared for the table. Best thing ever.
Les Crepe is my 1 go to spot in Richmond when I’m there for work. I always order a sweet AND savory crepe because they’re that good. Service is decent. Never had any issues. It’s also never busy whenever I go on a weeknight between 5-7. I always make a reservation just in case. So far, I’ve had GFO Ham and Cheese, GFO French Crêpe, GFO Le Jardinier, GFO Cocorico, GFO Strawbella, and GFO Crème Brûlée, my favorite.
One always worries that going out to eat on a holiday will prove disastrous. Not this time! Les Crepes in Carytown was up to the challenge. They had a well-priced prix fixe meal for the holiday, soup or salad followed by an entree crepe and a dessert crepe for $30.! My husband had a chicken and mango creation while I chose the Seafood Crepe. Both were flavorful and not skimpy on the fillings. The dessert crepes we chose were the Tiramisu and Berry Crepes, both chock full of flavor and generous on the marscapone and berries inside. The only drawback to the entire meal was the French Onion Soup appetizer because it had very little cheese baked on top and only a small crouton inside. We think they were running out of it because the flavor was still good- we'll hope for better next time because we will definitely be back. Also, the patio seating was lovely and covid safe. On our most recent visit we tried the Lamb Curry Crepe and the Lobster and Crab Crepe followed by the Creme Brulee Crepe- all were excellent even though we were the last customers of the night!
A Quaint restaurant with outdoor seating that is among the best in Richmond. The staff is extremely friendly knowledgeable and courteous. Food was out in a reasonable amount of time and the beer was cold. You can see the menu to determine pricing but with six drinks and two entrees and one dessert I paid $112 with tip. The food and dessert was delicious I had the cowboy which is a steak entree.
My friend and I popped in for lunch as part of a girls weekend and were not disappointed! I got the French crepe without ham and it was delicious; friend had French toast and loved it. Will definitely come back here if I ever make it down to Richmond again!
Excellent food and great service. We went at a slower time and go to choose our own table. We changed tables twice due to various reasons and the waiter was kind and did not mind. We ordered the Cowboy crepe (savory) and the Farm Berries crepe (sweet). Both were as described and delicious! The steak in the Cowboy was cooked well and not tough at all! The Farm Berries was sweet from the berries but not overly sugary. We also got the mini chicken empanadas which were also tasty. Will definitely be going back to try more.
An incredible Richmond gem. This place has hands down the best crepes, and coffee you will ever have. The crepes are incredibly delicious and homemade. The chef is so friendly, nice and passionate. All of the sauces and combinations are so unique (all homemade!). I tried a medley of crepes and my oh my it was SO hard to decide which one was the best. I recommend the following: carbonara, vegetarian, curry, tiramisu, chocolate and tres leches. All delicious to eat for brunch, lunch or dinner. A Richmond MUST!
We had lobster and crab Crepe-I forgot to take a picture. And then finished dinner with this deliciousness! A Tiramusu Crepe. Service was great! It was fun to see all the prom dates!
This spot is located in what reminds me of an old historical government building with its stairs leading up to a covered porch adorned with columns. They offer both savory and sweet crepes. My focus was the sweet, which I found quite unique with their offerings. Some I found different was the Oreo, the Creme Brulee (which is what I ordered), Tres Leches, among many others. The presentation of the Creme Brulee was quite impressive. Not your typical crepe, as they actually roll it in a swirl, similar to a cinnamon roll. It was quite decadent to say the least. It was even complete with random crumbles of the caramelized sugar. Coffee offering is similar to those in a coffee shop or you can also order from their full bar. Bathroom: Clean: Yes Changing Table: Not in the bathroom I entered. Bonus features: Soap smelled nice Add'l Notes: There are two single use unisex stalls. The one I entered was narrow and no Changing Table.
Hey fellow foodies! I've got some delightful scoop for you all! Last night, I paid a visit to "Les Crepes," and boy, was it a memorable experience! Let's talk about the wait staff first. They were on top of their game, folks! Super attentive and friendly, making us feel right at home. They even had some great recommendations for both sweet and savory crepes, making the decision-making process a breeze. Now, let's get to the main event - the crepes! Oh, my taste buds were singing with joy! The sweet crepes were heavenly, perfectly balanced with just the right amount of sweetness. Each bite was pure bliss! But here's the icing on the crepe cake - they host live jazz music on Saturday nights! Imagine indulging in those delectable crepes while grooving to some soulful tunes. I'm already planning to return one Saturday for a dose of jazz and, of course, more of those mouthwatering crepes. So, if you're up for a delightful gastronomic journey with attentive service, fresh and delicious crepes (sweet or savory), and a side of enchanting jazz music. Bon appétit, my fellow food enthusiasts!
One of the best spots in All of Glenn Allen-Richmond area. Right from the vibe of the place, the interiors, the setup to the fantastic food and exceptional service thanks to JOE. Joe is one of the best servers we have ever come across snd we would go back again and again for such service. Not to take away from the food, which is phenomenal. Each crepe is different from the other and each one is unique and yum. High quality ingredients our top picks Savoury 1) Lobster and crab crepe (the sauce is to die for) 2) Lasagna crepe (tastes better than traditional lasagna) Sweet 1) Tiramisu crepe (better than a great piece of tiramisu) 2) Cinnabana crepe - tastes exactly what it sounds like - yum Overall we’d give this place a 5 star in everything including pricing. We sat indoors but the outdoor area looks like a lot more fun with the upcoming weather. Pricing is also good not over the top like certain spots. We rank this as the best spot on carrytown snd one of the best spots in all of Richmond. Cheers ! Thank you Joe !
The crepes were very unique and well made. Kimmy provided excellent service and suggestions. The coffee and hot chocolate both complimented the crepes well. Fantastic crepe spot
I visited Les Crêpes today and absolutely loved it. I tried the seafood crepe and it was amazing, fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced with the soft crepe. Then I had the Dubai chocolate crepe, which was the perfect ending, rich, elegant, and not overly sweet. The atmosphere is cozy, the service is very friendly, and the presentation is beautiful. Definitely a place I’ll be coming back to. Highly recommended!
Every single thing we ordered from a cafe con leche to the champignon soup to the sweet and savory crepes was amazing. My kids love this place too. It has the cutest vibes and is hands down the best start to a day of shopping around carytown.
It was my first time there and it was for a birthday celebration. I liked the atmosphere. The service was good and so was the food. I enjoyed the smoke pepper fries and the chicken crepe. I will dine there again!
This is a really cute restaurant with interesting dishes that have wide variety of flavors. There are breakfast, savory, and sweet options. We tried the Chicken, Curried Lamb, and Dulce de Leche with Peach crepes. The curried chicken one was fantastic - so flavorful and exactly what I was hoping for. The chicken one had some interesting flavor and the Parmesan is a nice addition, but personally it was underwhelming to me. The dulce de leche with peach was very tasty and I appreciated how the peach contrasted with the creaminess. The staff was very friendly and it was nice that our waitress asked our dessert option while we were still eating because the crepes each take a long time to come out.
La Crepes is a delightful spot that truly lives up to its name! We enjoyed some of the best crepes we've ever had—each one was delicious and expertly made. The atmosphere is charming and inviting, making it a perfect place to relax and enjoy a meal. The servers were very polite and attentive, which added to our positive experience. However, we did notice that the service was a bit on the slow side. While this didn't detract from our overall enjoyment, it's something to be aware of if you're in a hurry. Overall, La Crepes is fantastic for anyone looking for delicious crepes in a lovely setting. We highly recommend it for a leisurely meal!
We had a large group, over 20 people the wait staff did a great job. I had the Les Crepes French Toast with 3 eggs scrambled and bacon. The eggs were good similar to a frittata. Onion and green pepper would have been a great addition. The French toast was dry a longer soak in beaten egg would have helped. The building is very open to the second floor amplifying every sound. Not a cozy atmosphere.
Food: 5/5 Service: 3/5 Overall good restaurant. Crepe selection and appetizers were great! Service was slow but the staff is very friendly. Recommendations: Lobster ravioli is the best item on the menu. Most savory and sweet crepes will be an excellent choice. Stay away from the curry crepe!
Cute ambiance and environment for a quick date and very kind wait staff. Very walkable to the rest of Carytown which is perfect for a nice day but made for a chilly walk in February since parking is rather difficult to find. We got the Berries Farm crepe (pictured) and the Burger crepe, both of which were very good but lacking in that special and extra taste that would give the establishment 5 stars.
This is a great place for a brunch party the day after Christmas. Our group, seated in the bar room, ranged in age from 20-something to 80-something. We each started off with coffee or a coffee drink; mine was my favorite, a coffee amaretto latte. I ended up having two! We also each ordered something different, and plates were passed around the table for sharing. Everything looked and tasted scrumptious, as we had anticipated. I ordered and thoroughly enjoyed my old favorite, French toast with berries. Service was slow, but considering it was the day after a major holiday, perhaps this was to be expected. Since this was a social get-together for our group, no one was in a hurry to eat and get out. Les Crepes Carytown was a first for me, and I will definitely be back. The menu is comfy, like breakfast any time of day, but not stodgy. I am looking forward to a return, and trying different menu items. NB. I normally use handicap access, but I was having a good day. I was able to access via stairs off Cary St. without my cane or walker. I did inquire and found out there normally was an elevator, but it was out-of-service. There is also another set of stairs, but doubtful these are handicap accessible. Restrooms, which I did not use, appeared to be accessible.
Enjoyed a late lunch here; first time patrons. Extensive menu included savory and sweet crepes. My husband and I split a breakfast crepe, the curry lamb crepe, and the chocolate mousse crepe. Crepes were large, and we took home leftovers. Server was pleasant; could have been a bit more attentive as restaurant was not at all busy.
Current review Sept 2023. New ownership and nolonger French owned. New owners are Venezuelan. It certainly has a club feel. Crepes were OK. Overall I expected more, but will come back to give it another go. Latte was the highlight! Editing my review. One of the staff members told be the previous owners were French. On another note: my comments were about the quality of the food, not its taste. The lobster shrimp crepe was substandard for the price.
We sat on the patio which is quite lovely. The crapes range from the desert crêpes around 12 to the most expensive over 27. They are not the cheapest crapes but they are well-made and quite tasty. I had the French crêpe I personally thought it was a little bit too heavy I wish they had some lighter crepes. They are very dog friendly and even brought a bowl of water for my friend’s dog!
Cute place. We had reservations for two for 8:15 on a Saturday night. The lobster ravioli was quite good, unfortunately just warm, not hot like we like it. The sweet desserts were disappointing. The presentation was amazing, but they came unexpectedly cold. I’ve had crepes in many places and even when served with ice cream the inside and dough were warm. Lastly, the service was not very attentive. After being served, our waitress did not return until after we were finished. We will not be returning.
I didn't have a good experience here. It looks super nice and elegant. However the experience is definitely not. We were seated with ease and waters came out relatively quickly. The waiter did take our order rather quickly. However we had ordered additional drinks that took awhile to receive, like 20 minutes, well after the entrees came out for my wife and kids. However the dude helping the waiter placed their orders down and asked if we needed anything else, I replied my food, he said he would go check on it. When he came out it was evident that he forgot about my meal. He did apologize for the incident so that was nice. My meal came out really once most of my party had already finished. I took three bites in my food which was good by the way to uncover a hair on my plate under my food! I let them know and by this point was in no way in the mood to eat. The check came out relatively quickly after that, which they did take off my meal, however I walked away still hungry and kinda sad with the experience. Sad to say I will not be back.
Not impressed at all. Would not know how the food or drinks taste due to the fact that our server ignored my girlfriend and I for the 30 minutes we sat here waiting for our simple drink order. We never got waters. Never got asked what we would like to eat. The staff ignored us. It actually felt like a hate crime which is shocking for Richmond. On our way out we saw our server sitting on his phone. Will not be returning as we did not feel welcomed in the slightest.
We started off by not being allowed to keep our menu (so we could add on as we went) because “they don’t have enough menus”. Then we shared a seafood crepe. It was the soggiest crepe I have ever had. The sauce was delicious but all the seafood was chewy and overcooked. Then we ordered two sweet crepe plates. Only one came out and it was just plain bad. We didn’t it anything beyond one bite each.
