An amazing collection of historical firefighting equipment from before the United States became an independent nation through the September 11, 2001 tragedy. Beautifully presented perfectly restored trucks and artifacts. An audio guide from a downloaded app adds to the enjoyment of specific trucks. Nice gift shop. And many helpful informative forner firefighters on hand to explain the museum's collection and answer questions. Well worth an hour of time.
What a wonderful museum! Their collection is huge, impressive, and impeccably maintained and organized. I could have spent a whole day in the hall of heroes. Very interesting place for people of all ages, since they have a couple of engines dedicated for kids (and adults) to climb on and play firefighter. Highly recommended!
A hidden gem! So many fire trucks on display (both old and new) as well as fire fighting apparatus from all over the world. Excellent memorial tributes on 9/11 and to the Granite Mountain Hotshots as well as many others. You can also listen to real time fire and EMS calls! Several rooms to discover so wear comfy walking shoes. There is also a gift shop and Restrooms. The men and women "on duty" at the Museum are unbelievably knowledgeable! Give yourself at least 90-minutes to discover everything. Highly recommend.
My wife and I have taken our son here twice; he is obsessed with firetrucks. There is a fantastic array of vehicles here, spanning the history of firefighting. The FDNY rescue truck from 9/11 is particularly moving. The vehicles are also displayed at ground level and can be appreciated from very close range. Lots to touch and explore for the kids as well, including a truck with active lights and a kitchen/bedroom setup demonstrating various fire hazards. There is a full-size fire control/dispatch center, and many other exhibits in addition to the vehicles. There are also displays of models, toys, and firefighting patches from around the world. Definitely enough content to make multiple visits worthwhile. The staff is always friendly and incredibly knowledgeable, it is clear that they are retired firefighters. At our last visit, my son received some stickers, an activity book, and even got to pick out a real fire department patch to take home. As expected, he is already asking to go back to the "firetruck museum". We recommend this museum to adults and families, there is definitely something for everyone.
Synopsis - an absolutely amazing treasure if you are in the area and well worth a few hours of your time to walk-through. The missus and I were vacationing in Arizona and looking for museums to visit. This museum popped up on our search and we were both extremely glad that we went to see it. The staff members were absolutely amazing and offered tours for those who are looking for a bit more constructive journey through an immense amount of history, content, and firefighting lore. You are able to peruse the museum at your own pace if you so choose to. There are endless avenues for you to go down, mediums of content to view, and history to soak up. No review can do it justice: you simply need to get over to the Hall of Fame and check it out yourself! 5 Flaming Stars out of 5!
I enjoyed my time exploring inside. You can tell the workers/volunteers (not sure who is who) are passionate about firefighting. For a casual customer it was neat seeing all the old restored fire trucks and learning about history. Entry tickets seemed appropriately priced for what you can see. Good place to bring young kids for sure.
The Hall of Flame is the gold standard for fire museums. It features amazingly restored apparatus and expertly curated history. The facility is massive; plan for at least 1-2 hours for a quick overview, but allow 3-4 hours to truly appreciate the depth of the collection. It is an amazing facility, chock-full of educational history and rare, one-of-a-kind items that pay homage to our brave firefighters. I highly recommend it and will definitely return.
I wasn't sure that I would enjoy the Hall of Flame museum. I knew I'd have a good time because I was with several friends. We got there and Bob, who works on various Fridays, took it upon himself, after we entered and looked around to take us on a personal tour. I think we got halfway through the first room of the multi-room tour, and realized that two and a half hours had past. Bob was extremely well-educated regarding the history of firefighting and he gave us a delightful tour. I bought an annual pass so that myself and group members can come back for more tour stories and interesting history from Bob on future Friday's when he is there. I'm sure the other volunteers and employees are also excellent tour guides. We were incredibly impressed with the history of firefighting and the fire engines/ machines. Bob and the other men there were very cordial and knowledgeable. I would very highly recommend this to anybody who wants a unique experience and a walk through the past!!
This museum was great for both me and my toddler. He loved the firetrucks, and I was very moved by the displays honoring the sacrifices that have been made by firefighters. They have a firetruck that kids can climb on, and there's a great kids play area learning all about fire safety. They have a truck that was there on 9/11, and also one from our Arizona Hot Shots. The staff were so friendly and sweet to my kid. Give this place some love, they're totally worth it.
We we're able to buy discounted tickets from Groupon and boy were they worth it, so much so that I highly recommend taking your children, family, or friends. The museum doesn't look that big, however when you start your tour and notice that you have been there two hours you will understand what I'm sharing. We never knew that the Hall of Flame Museum even existed, almost every large city in America 🇺🇸 has one. They all share things in common such as lay down your life for others, the many sacrifices made by the men/women are incredible. And this history has been preserved for us, please learn about how American's are a loving nation. ❤️
Absolutely wonderful place. Greeted and given an overview by a member of staff, then wandered the halls taking it all in. So much fascinating history, emotional stories, tributes to those who work in the service, and so many beautiful trucks. Even a kids play area! Spent a good hour wandering around taking everything in. Fantastic.
Family visit CFD in family was a very very nice museum firefighters are just about as brave as they come! We teared up at some exhibits from some of the stories and our own family being FF so it’s like whew! But with all staff being very informative & courteous it made us very happy to see the museum. Kids had so much fun in the kids area. They have a picnic table outside u can do lunch out there after. Perfect setup! Thank you all Current & Retired Firefighters!!!
We had a fantastic time at the Hall of Flame Fire Museum! 🚒🔥 The museum is filled with beautifully restored fire trucks, fascinating exhibits, and a great history of firefighting. The staff was friendly and welcoming, making the experience even better. My toddler especially enjoyed exploring and was excited to receive a book and a sticker, which was such a thoughtful touch! 📖✨ It’s a great place for families, history lovers, and anyone interested in firefighting. Highly recommend visiting! 😊👨🚒🚒
We had a good time at the museum. Great place for kids if they are interested in fire trucks. The displays are great visually and if you are interested in doing a little reading and paying attention you can learn a great deal about Fireman history. The staff is knowledgeable and I think we would have spent more than two hours there if we weren’t already tired from touring museums all day.
Worth every penny! What a wonderfully maintained, fun, incredibly informative Museum. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and super helpful with any questions. What an extensive collection of Fire Trucks! Very family friendly, and fun things throughout for children to do. My family had a great afternoon here!
We bought our tickets from Groupon right before entering and saved a lot. It's very impressive that they have such a large collection spanning such a long history and also from such diverse cultures and countries. There's a large area for kids with lots of interactive things and toys. There's also a real fire engine you can climb on with lights and also real firefighter uniforms you can try on; even adults can have fun too!
