We came for our anniversary before a show and had a wonderful experience. Mona was very attentive and had great suggestions for what to order. Must order Short Rib Massaman Curry and crispy pork belly!

Reallyyy good food. The calamari is to die for. Nice ambiance, glad to celebrate my birthday here courtesy to my bestie. Amazing staff, especially Mona. Definitely be coming back!!

The atmosphere is so warm and inviting; our server May was very attentive and super sweet. Great for a date or just to catch up with friends. The Flunk Flink drink and bruiseberry mojito were very yummy - just the right amount of sweetness. Kimchi Fries were bomb - the sauce was evenly distributed and the fries were crispy. The crab fried rice was really balanced, there were more noodles than meat in the Pho Bo with Short Rib but the broth was nice and rice. The Crispy banana (?) was also SO good - again, great flavors and it wasn’t too overpowering. 10/10

Ordered takeout and I got the classic pho and the spare ribs, both exceeded my already high expectations based off the great reviews. The spare ribs were one of my favorite appetizers I’ve had at any Vietnamese spot. These are a must try.

Staff were so friendly and always checking up on customers ⭐️ Their pho was so gooood and thankfully I asked if they still have their mango sticky rice which they do! It might not be in their dessert menu as they said it is a seasonal dessert but be sure to ask! I was lucky enough to catch it this early :> pretty presentation and tasty food! Will be back!

Excellent experience, service was outstanding; attentive and friendly. Food was delicious, the short rib appetizer was delicious. Entrees were equally delicious amd the dessert took the cake! Will definitely return and highly recommend!

Food was excellent. Service was great. Pho Bo was great on a chilly day. Spare rib w/ tamarind sauce appetizer was fabulous...that sauce is a star. Summer roll was tasty too.

Very delicious food, still dreaming about that vegan pho we ordered 2 bowls of Vegan Pho plus the mushroom tacos! Everything was full of flavor and absolutely delicious. I am a regular guest at Obao and love the food! I particularly like the pad see ew, pad thai, short rib massaman, and basil fried rice. But, what makes this place so special is the amazing service the staff always extends. Special shout out to Nina (the very friendly and accommodating hostess), Ken (amazing and attentive server) and especially Nate (who served me tonight). I was genuinely so impressed by Nate’s friendliness, kindness, professionalism, attentiveness and attention to detail. Best server! Thank you to all of you. I highly recommend either location.

We visited this place yesterday, and the food was really good. I think it would be even better if the portions were a bit larger. The restaurant has a fancy interior design, but it was a little dark, so we had to look carefully when reading the menu. Our server, Nate, was patient and very friendly. A reservation is recommended ,when we went in the evening, it was quite crowded, and we had to wait about 15 minutes for a table.

Great service from Emily, even better food. The dumplings were a 10/10. I tried the Beef basil fried rice as well and it was top 5 best I’ve had in the city. Will definitely be back! Lunch special was a great bargain. Mine was a little more because I had a few drinks but great place, great atmosphere.

Obao is clean and serves really delicious food! We ordered soup, eggplant, spring rolls, and beef noodles — everything was amazing. I also tried the Obao Sunray cocktail with vodka and Malibu, which was fantastic, although the celery stick garnish wasn’t very fresh. Our main dishes took quite a while to arrive, and we actually received the appetizer after the main course (probably just a mix-up), but the staff corrected it quickly after I reminded the waiter. The atmosphere was a bit noisy but still pleasant overall. The place isn’t fancy, but prices are very affordable, and it’s a great spot to enjoy flavorful Vietnamese cuisine. Definitely worth a visit!

Good food and atmosphere! Our server, Nate, was excellent and made our meal so enjoyable! Would recommend the pork chops and the short rib massaman. Yummy Thai tea (mine was without dairy). A lovely meal in the city!

short rib massaman curry was super sweet?? one of the worse massamans i’ve had in the city, and i usually get a massaman at every thai place i go to. truffle fries were the best thing we got on the menu. papaya salad was fine calamari was decent rib appetizer was fine flunk flink drink was actually pretty good!! basil fried rice was decent the service was pretty slow and the waiter tried to push a lot of dishes on us that were just the most expensive things on the menu. she said to order the short rib massaman and the whole lobster pad thai which were basically the most expensive things in entrees, and i personally thought the massaman ($38) was so much worse than the basil fried rice ($20) one person in our group ordered a green tea that took longer than 2 rounds of drinks to come and we had to follow up on it a few times.

I came here for dinner. They have a pretty good sized space for nyc and the prices are good as well. There's a bar as soon as you enter and stairs to go upstairs to more seating. Theres about 15 tables so definitely make reservations I didn't really thjnk they were so different and outstanding compared to other viet restaurants but they offer good prices and service and are probably the best in the area. The jeeb dumplings were my favorite dish here.
