Visiting the city from NC for our daughter’s 16th birthday - made reservations at the recommendation of an NYC native friend. So glad we did! Arrived early after seeing Hadestown and they sat us early. Warm greeting from the hostess also from NC! Attentive service and care by Liza including bday candle in the dessert and making sure we had time and didn’t have to rush off to a show. Food was delicious- had the scallop special and French onion soup them duck confit. Dessert was chocolate lava cake and profiteroles and coffee. Delightful experience and special memory for us both. Will recommend to anyone visiting the city!
Really enjoyed our Saturday brunch here. Ask for Henry, I’ve worked in the hospitality industry for over 20, request him, period. For was good, we had the bottomless, the staff is A+ here. Fun inviting atmosphere. Perfect for a date, family friend gatherings.
This is our second time visiting this wonderful restaurants and it was definitely not a one hit wonder. The food is consistently delicious. The service is absolutely outstanding. This evening Sara took care of us for my birthday dinner and it was nothing short of spectacular. I devoured the oysters, burger, and crème brûlée for dessert. My mother enjoyed the escargot and steak frites. We share a bottle of Chablis and had the most wonderful night. Thank you for an amazing birthday dinner, Sara! I appreciate you!
Sunday brunch @ French brasserie! A nice welcome by Emma with a smile. We were seated promptly on a nice table. Packed house full of energy and great ambiance. Croque Madame, avocado toast, shakshuka eggs, strawberry rhubarb tart & chocolate mousse - to die for- and make it happen- friendly service by Luna and Daniel, made our luncheon a so pleasant one! Kudos to Chef Xavier for his concoctions and a net work of smooth team play with smiles floating all around. Manager Prince touched our table ample times to check if we were enjoying. Calls for professionalism. Ty alllll! 🫡🙏❣️😋😋 Will definetely be back!
Whenever I travel to NYC, I look forward to enjoying a meal at Marseille! This time was no exception. The hostess was gracious and welcoming, Carlos, our waiter was superb! Checking in regularly but sensitive the need for uninterrupted conversation. The food was scrumptious and the atmosphere sublime. My hearty congratulations for the entire Marseille team!
Walking into this gem near the theater district evokes the feeling of entering a classic Paris bistro. Just as charming, but even better than Paris when it comes to food quality and service. At the door, we were greeted warmly by the maitre d' with a friendly "Happy Anniversary." The feeling of being welcome was enhanced by an anniversary greeting card that was waiting for us on the table, as we were greeted by our incredibly helpful waiter, Johnny. Looking for a light lunch, I was delighted to find a lump crab salad on the menu. The fresh shaved fennel and asparagus slices was perfectly infused with the wonderful flavor of crabmeat, and enhanced further by tomatoes, chives, and a perfect topping of fresh grapefruit. My wife's warm goat cheese was paired with roasted beets and a great honey-sweet relish. I was fascinated by the perfection of the breaded and fried goat cheese that stands out from anything I've ever seen at other establishments. She loved the beautifully presented profiterole dessert, and I enjoyed sipping a perfectly drawn espresso, topped by a nice crema. If you're in the area, stop by for a warm greeting and a wonderful French gastronomic treat. You won't regret it, and if you're lucky you'll get to meet Johnny.
We love this restaurant! We (and the tourists) have coming here for years. While the tourists come here to dine before a Broadway show, my partner and I come here because this is the best French restaurant in the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood. The servers over the years have been lovely and today we had Carlos - he was very warm and attentive as well as consistent with his service while we dined. We took our time and we were not rushed so we appreciated how polite Carlisle was. The atmosphere is as close as you can get to a Parisian restaurant - it’s such a good vibe and the food is delicious. They’re also pretty flexible with food adjustments (depending on what it is of course - I always add an extra egg to my bowl). Can’t wait to be back!
We had a wonderful experience thanks to the exceptional service from Melanie, who was both professional and diligent throughout our visit. A special mention also to Caesar, who kindly helped us take photos to capture our anniversary — such a thoughtful touch that truly made the evening memorable. The front-of-house welcome was equally lovely, and we were given a beautiful seat to celebrate our 8-year wedding anniversary, which made the occasion feel extra special. We felt very lucky to be looked after by such outstanding staff, and the food was equally impressive. The steak was cooked to perfection, and the duck was absolutely exquisite. We hope to visit again soon.
Had a great experience here celebrating my cousin’s birthday! The food was delicious and the experience was made special by our server, Melanie. She was so thoughtful and funny. We appreciated her food and drink recommendations (I’m still dreaming of the Branzino and cheesecake). We also made our 7:30pm broadway show thanks to the thoughtfulness of Melanie and the staff. Thank you Melanie!
Melanie was our server. She was excellent. She asked if we had show tickets (which we did) and had our food out quickly and hot. Very nice experience. Worth 6 stars. Highly recommend.
I have frequented this restaurant a number of times and it does not disappoint!!! Just had dinner there last night -Feb 10th. Partook in the wonderful offering from the restaurant week menu and it was spectacular! Lovely greens, the amazing and generous portion of Coq Au Vin - just delectable and the sauce - wow! And the scrumptious profiteroles for a sweet ending! The dry martini & Chardonnay were both perfect and generous. The evening was made even more special for my bestie’s bday with special bday card & candle and Reagan (the hostess) offered us a wonderful, cozy corner table. Reagan was just delightful in her attention and care, she came over later to our table and checked in and chatted with us, she is just delightful! Till the next time! 🥂
Excellent pre-theater dinner at Marseille. Quenelle actually stopped our conversation when it arrived at the table. The aroma was divine. Pork shank with apricot and couscous was tasty, tender, perfect on a cold evening. Service was gracious and attentive but not intrusive. Thanks and kudos to manager Prince and server Selma. Well done.
This place is an absolute gem and one I return to again and again-and for very good reason. The French roasted chicken is nothing short of perfection: beautifully golden, impossibly juicy, deeply flavorful, and clearly made with care and confidence. It's the kind of dish that makes you pause after the first bite and think, this is why I love food. Truly to die for. exceptional service every single person on staff , water wine and checking in - benchmark! Everyone is kind and smiling ready to accommodate. I will always return - salads, grilled octopus - nothing will disappoint! Thank you Carlos & everyone on staff - your warmth and kind service - is authentic and exceptional ↓
We had such a lovely time here on our first visit. The atmosphere was warm and very pleasant, and our service was absolutely wonderful. We came to celebrate two birthdays and were treated with the best hospitality from start to finish. The food was delicious — the scallops (the special of the night) were perfectly cooked, the salmon was flavorful, and the short ribs were tender. We ended with the apple tart, which was also excellent: not too sweet, with a buttery crust. We will definitely be coming back again!
The place was a tad noisy, but with the theater crowd, this could be expected. The food was divine. A wonderful liver pate and escargot started the meal. For entrees we had a braised pork knuckle and moules. Jose was attentive , but not intrusive. We will be dining here again.
We thoroughly were impressed with our whole experience at Marseille. The service (Julia!) was perfect—attentive, knowledgeable, pleasant, efficient—just great! The food was equally impressive. Onion soup, mushroom Ravioli, risotto, branzino, tuna tartare, truffles—delicious and very well prepared and served. Thank you for a totally gratifying birthday dinner.
Great spot for a full celebration or a light lunch. Service was great. Menu is very good and varied. Food was superb. Vegetarian choices available. Great stop before or after the theater and reasonable parking right around the corner.
We are from Marseille, and dining at Marseille in NYC was truly amazing. The food was incredible, authentic, flavorful, and beautifully done. Even with a large group, we were seated right away, which made the experience even better. Our server, Johnny M, was INCREDIBLE, so attentive, welcoming, and went above and beyond by taking photos of all of us. The service and atmosphere made us feel right at home. I recommend this restaurant to everyone, French or not. An absolute must!
We had a fabulous pre-theater dinner at Marseille. The service, atmosphere and food were fantastic. I highly recommend the risotto app and goat cheese salad. The salmon entree with lentils was cooked perfectly. Everyone loved their meals and sharing the delicious desserts. 5/5 The Best!
Hostess was very welcoming with nice smile welcoming us in! Seated right away at nice table tho all tables were nice. It was my birthday so they did an extra couple of touches with a nicely handwritten card and we got a desert for the table and they put a nice candle in it without anybody asking them too. Owner came over and said it’s a “great day to be a king!”As it was a mutual holiday. Everybody was very pleasant best steak, burger and frites I’ve ever had. Thank you so much, strongly recommend!
I have been visiting Marseille since it opened around 2001 as I live just around the corner. Last night, I returned to celebrate a friend‘s birthday, and I was reminded of Marseille’s overall fabulosity. Everything was just right… the food, the service, the beautiful ambience. And the price was right. A special shout out to Julia, our smiling and super attentive server, as well as Taher, who always is so welcoming.
Ryan was our server for brunch and he did such an amazing job at explaining everything and giving recommendations. I booked the reservation on a whim and was very glad to do so as it quickly became packed after opening at 11am. The food was amazing, atmosphere was great ! Marseille is a great place to catch up with friends or to just have a good brunch and dessert at.
While running errands near Hell’s Kitchen, my mom and I stopped into Marseille for an early lunch, and we couldn’t have had a better experience. Even though we arrived a bit before opening, the hostess Reagan kindly welcomed us in and got us settled with drinks while we waited. Henry prepared our cocktails, Louis brought bread and made us feel right at home, and our server Johnny was fantastic—knowledgeable, attentive, and spot-on with his recommendations. The entire team, including the manager Saeed, made us feel cared for from start to finish. The food was delicious, the ambiance lively, and the hospitality truly memorable. We’ll definitely be back!
We were planning to attend a Wednesday matinee and found ourselves with some extra time beforehand. After studying the menu, we slipped into Marseille for lunch. The food, music, and overall ambiance, made us feel like we were back in Paris. The difference, however, was that the staff was polite. Our server, Jose, was a particular gem. He was communicative, knowledgeable about both the food and wine menus. He was efficient, friendly and was just humorous enough to be charming without being intrusive. We started with oysters and A classic French Onion soup. My husband had the mussels and I had one of the most perfect dishes of Coq au Vin I've ever enjoyed. I could go on about what a delight afternoon we had at Marseille, but it'a best to experience this taste of Paris for yourself.
Sara was amazing! The restaurant was so busy and she treated us like we were her only Tahoe while she juggled everyone else. She was so sweet to us, all single gals on Valentine’s Day. Thank you Sara and Marseille! We will definitely be back soon! Fantastic food, service, and atmosphere.
I took my extended family here to celebrate and it was a great experience. The food really is top quality. The shrimp beinette were a standout. So light and airy. Tuna tartare was great. One of the best cheese cakes I've had. Great atmosphere - beautiful decor. Our waiters were excellent. I can remember Mel and there was one other woman who did a great job.
My family had Sara as our waitress, and might I say this was one of the best experiences I’ve had at a restaurant in a long time. We went for my 31st birthday. Not only were the oysters delicious but every piece of the meal from the appetizers to dessert were delicious. The drinks were quick and delicious. I will absolutely recommend this to all my friends and other family members. Sara was also extremely knowledgeable about different allergies and cared about us as her customers!
We came to celebrate our 8th wedding anniversary hoping for a lovely meal…the experience was above and beyond our expectations. Incredible food, lovely atmosphere, fantastic support staff and our waiter Ryan was simple outstanding - from suggestions to service to how personable he was. Just a perfect evening.
Absolutely loved my experience at Marseille! The service was top-notch—friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming from start to finish. As for the food? Phenomenal. Every bite was full of flavor and beautifully presented. You can tell they care about quality here. Whether you’re stopping by for a casual night out or a special occasion, Marseille delivers. Can’t wait to come back!
Dropped in on a Monday after a show—Lovely interior design and vibe. It happened to be Restaurant Week in NYC; as such they were offering a 3 course prix fixe menu for $45. Massive bargain! I started with steak tartare; a generous quenelle of chopped steak, beautifully seasoned and served with sliced cornichons and watercress. Delicious. My main course was a whole roasted trout, with crispy skin and stuffed with spinach, mushrooms and herbs. My companion had the coq au vin; both were outstanding. Dessert was crème brûlée (my friend) and profiteroles (myself); like the rest of the meal, they were classic French dishes that were delicious. As far as service goes, I am a former fine dining server who worked in New York in the 80s, London in the 90s, and Beverly Hills in the 00s, I am pretty discerning when it comes to service; I live in Los Angeles now and I’ve been to many upscale restaurants there with appalling service—for example, putting dirty appetizer cutlery back on the table when clearing plates is the norm. Not here. Service was uniformly excellent, from our primary server (Andres, I think?) to the support staff. Attentive without being intrusive. I will absolutely be returning on my next trip whether it’s Restaurant Week or not.
My husband and I loved it here so much the first time that I brought my (adult) daughter back as a special treat. Our servers, Selma and Taher, provided perhaps the most exceptional service in NY. From helping me narrow the incredible menu down to one good choice to their unwavering attention to service and detail, this is a spot you don’t want to miss. Casual and classy is my favorite combination! Highly recommended for a taste of Paris in NYC.
Although we arrived 1/2 hour early for our reservation (for a bar table) the hostess was friendly and gracious and seated us immediately. Our waitstaffer, Henry, was fantastic. He was welcoming, funny and attentive without overdoing it. The food was delicious (spinach and goat cheese omelette, a shrimp benedict special, and vanilla crème brûlée along with a huge bowl of café au lait). Perfect. There's a reason this restaurant has been successful for so long. They put the customer experience at the center of things. We will definitely be back.
We had a wonderful lunch. Johnny M., our server, was cheery and personable. The atmosphere was what a French bistro should have. Best the best part was the food. We had the restaurant week special and enjoyed a delicious vegetable soup and a memorable salad. The entrees were just as good. We’ll be back.
One of the greatest French restaurants in NYC. I’ve been coming here for years! I couldn’t recommend this enough! Never a bad moment!!! Not to mention…THE BEST HAPPY HOUR DEAL DAILY ON FRESH OYSTERS!!! Selma has taken care of us over the years! So gracious and knowledgeable of the right courses and attention to details. Which I tend to appreciate! Do yourself a favor and enjoy this incredible restaurant!
Had an amazing second experience at Marseille. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and feels like dining in a Parisian brasserie. The food is excellent right from the start with an amazing fresh roll that arrives warm to the table and is served with butter and olive oil. The steak frites were amazing! Service is impeccable- shout out to my server Julia! She was friendly and welcoming and definitely enhanced an already terrific experience either way her amazing service. She also ensured that dinner would be paced in a fashion that I would make my 7:00 theater performance . Marseille is not to be missed- it does not disappoint. It has become a not to be missed for me for future New York travels!
We went and had the restaurant week menu. Over all a very good valued 3 course menu. The Coq au Vin was definitely the best part of the meal, very distinct flavors. The service was very good. Thank you Melanie for the great service! The outdoor experience was also very nice on a good day.
we had an amazing time stopping at marseille for brunch before a broadway show. the service was top notch and our waiter henry was so prompt. he was very nice and made our experience so much better! the decor is beautiful and the food was delicious. one of the best espresso martinis i’ve had! highly recommend coming here for brunch
Wonderful lunch. Sophie, our waitress, was excellent and so attentive. The restaurant had a great buzz—lively and fun—and the food was fantastic. Thank you for such a lovely time. We’ve been coming to this restaurant for many years. As locals, it’s one of our favorite places—whether we’re stopping in before the theatre or simply coming for a relaxed meal. It never disappoints.”
What a great spot for brunch! The decor is light and airy, the service is top notch and the food was exceptional. Our server Addyson was very attentive. The prices are very reasonable. Between the three of us we shared the bread basket, yum! Entrees were Croque Madame, Omelette Florentine and Eggs Benedict. We all ordered crème brûlée for dessert. I’ve never had a bowl of cafe au lait before but it was great too. I highly recommend brunch here.
We had lunch before going to the theatre (as we have for many years). I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. The moment we walk through the door, the hostess greets us into a welcoming atmosphere. The GM, Prince, is accessible and has been a familiar face for many years. Our server, Johnny is exceptional!! Everyone is great, but Johnny is exceptional. His hospitality, just right attentiveness and care to his tables is memorable. His knowledge of the menu is most helpful. He is an informed source for suggesting food or beverages (cocktail or non alcoholic choices) and he’s always spot on! The food at Marseille is consistently delicious. The cocktails are all refreshing. I could recommend anything on this menu, but my particular go to’s are thetrout, the Croque, madame, the crab salad and the apple tart! See ya at Marseilles!!
We came here on a whim and absolutely no regrets! The food here is terrific and the options are wonderful if you don’t want so much starch or not in the mood for meat. My partner got the beef rib pasta and omg -it was so tender. I’m going to have to figure out how they made it! I got the skate with the French lentils. Skate is a fish I rarely see on any menu so I had to try it. It was delicious and I liked the buttermilk? glace they used around the lentils and spinach. Everything was cooked to perfection and the staff, servers and host, Emma, were absolutely welcoming and accommodating. And everyone gets their own warm bread! Will definitely be returning.
We had the pleasure of being served by Johnny. Food tasted incredibly delicious, seasoning was so good. If you love oysters, the oysters are fresh and delicious here. The view from our seat was great, we got to people watch. We ordered a bottle of Chablis (favorite wine) everything was perfect and attention to detail was great. I saw how organized and clean the restaurant is. Great venue for a relax afternoon with friends and family.
We sat at the bar and our server, Jimmy, gave attention to every detail. They have $1.50 oysters in the afternoon which were fresh and briny, followed by tuna appetizer and mains were duck confit and a seafood pasta. All were excellent. Nice cozy vibe makes you feel like you’re in France. Looking forward to returning!
An amazing New Year’s Eve dinner! The holiday decorations and overall atmosphere were beautiful and made the night feel extra special. Every dish we tried was delicious, and the service was wonderful—friendly, attentive, and professional without feeling rushed. Highly recommend for a special occasion in NYC.
Shared a lovely lunch with my aunt at Marseille. This is our regular spot when she’s in town. Our waiter, Johnny M, introduced himself and Jose, who was in training with him. Johnny was a charming and attentive waiter. After our meal arrived, he even offered to take our photo for us, which I’m grateful for, because I would’ve forgotten to get one together. Lunch was simple, well-made and delicious. I got the avocado omelette with spinach and goat cheese. My aunt had the avocado toast, which also looked beautiful. There were several delicious-looking menu options, but somewhat limited for vegetarians. I’m not picky though, and we come to Marseille because of its atmosphere, convenient proximity to Port Authority, and the relaxed lunch-time atmosphere. The restaurant was quiet when we arrived, but started to fill up as we were leaving around 2pm. We enjoyed our time there and appreciated Johnny’s hospitality.
Carlos and Ryan provided excellent service. Steak was great big enough for sharing. Le "poulet roti" was a bit "earthy" Short ribs were really good. The "Pot de créme" should not be missed. Be aware that this is a "pre-function place. So, plan your times accordingly and , if needed, ensure a reservation.
Stopped by Marseille for my last dinner in NYC during a girls trip! The BFF and I were happy with the prix fixe menu. We came on a Sunday evening so it was quite packed but luckily we made a reservation online and didn't have to wait very long for a table to open up. The ambiance and interior very much reminds me of restaurants in France so the authentic environment is replicated fairly well. The food and dessert were delicious. Service was a little slow but ofc that's to be expected during dinner times.
I had a wonderful experience at Marseille. The steak was absolutely outstanding — perfectly cooked, incredibly flavorful, and easily one of the best I’ve had in the city. Every bite was memorable. My friend and I had such a great time together. The atmosphere was lively yet comfortable, making it easy to relax, talk, and truly enjoy the evening. The only small downside was that the table felt a bit too small, so we couldn’t order as many dishes as we would have liked. That said, it didn’t take away from the overall experience. I would definitely come back, especially for that steak!
We came here Saturday night. It was busy... really busy. But the staff is amazing! We've been seated immediately. They have very nice dining room with various sizes of tables and boots- very cute. The food was DELICIOUS! We ordered duck mouss pate and escargot- incredible! For the main course were mmuscleswith franch fries (just perfect) and hunger stake for my husband. Creme Brule was immaculate! Just the right amount of crunch and Strawberry on top- just the way I love it!!! Will be there again and again!! Also, I must mention great hard working staff - everything was done just perfect, every request was addressed immediately. We were served by Andres - THANK YOU - but other folks was working very hard as well. Great night! THANK YOU!
Kafil and Carlos were super attentive, got us in and out quickly as we had limited timing for a show. Strongly recommend reservations. We were delayed due to weather and they were very accommodating and had us seated as soon as possible considering. Food was on point, we ordered Lorraine Omelet and Croque Madame. Had Sauvignon Blanc and a perfect espresso Martini. One-stall women’s restroom, a family/accessible bathroom and a mens restroom.
We came in right before the lunch shift ended and still felt genuinely welcomed. The maître d’ (who is also the manager) was incredibly kind and accommodating, and the wait staff was just as sweet—attentive without hovering, and overall really pleasant to interact with. Food-wise, everything was excellent. We shared the short rib pasta and the Niçoise salad, and it was more than enough for two people. The Niçoise was a standout—especially because the tuna was nicely seared and they even gave a little extra, which was a thoughtful touch. Everything tasted fresh, well-prepared, and honestly just extremely delicious. The drinks were a real star of the meal. They made a lemon drop with gin and that drink was so well balanced and amazing. We just could not stop drinking it. We also had the $32 glass of champagne. One small thing worth mentioning (and it didn’t bother me): since we were there at the very end of the lunch shift and stayed a bit past the shift change, the staff gathered at a table and were cutting up/playing around a bit. Totally understandable given the timing, and it didn’t take away from our experience. Overall, great atmosphere, genuinely warm service, and food that’s absolutely worth coming back for. I’d definitely return.
What a great way to start the evening. Our server Carlos was very professional and attentive. Thank you. Appetizers were delicious. Grilled octopus and the pâté amazing. I ordered the roasted chicken and I wish I ordered something else. Nothing to rave about. My mom ordered the branzino and that was delicious. Overall a great experience.
Came on Valentine’s Day with my boyfriend, had to wait over half an hour for our table at 9pm even with a reservation. However food was delicious. There was a prix fixe menu and the salmon ordered medium rare was so delicious. Would definitely recommend. Even liked it more than my boyfriend’s steak. Red velvet cake was kinda dry. But so cute. Loved the heart straws and how every girl got a rose.
Two weeks ago I had lunch at Marseille and it was such a wonderful experience. The food was absolutely delicious, beautifully presented, and full of rich French flavors. The atmosphere felt lively yet elegant, the kind of place where you can truly relax and enjoy every bite. A perfect little escape to the South of France right in the heart of New York.
The food was great & the service was even better. I had the French Onion Soup, Streak Frites, & Chocolate lava cake. My husband had a chicken special & cheesecake. All of our dishes were incredible, & you can’t beat the price of the prix fixe dinner options, especially in the city. Our server was Henry. He ensured our glasses were never empty, provided excellent recommendations, & had impeccable energy. Marseille is definitely going to be our new pre-broadway show spot.
My boyfriend booked a reservation after seeing a show at Lyric Theatre, both of our first times here and it will not be the last! Sara was absolutely amazing and the cherry on top to fantastic food and vibes. The food was so good we only managed to get a picture of our apps, enjoyed a drink at the bar while we waited for our table (we were very early) looking forward to coming back to the city especially for another dinner here!
Just came back from a lovely lunchtime meal with a girlfriend at this very classy restaurant after a recommendation from a friend. From start to finish the experience was outstanding, the first greeting from the lady at the door (sorry I didn't get her name) was outstanding. Had a main meal and a glass of wine as we caught up after not seeing eachother for a few months. The waiter was friendly, attentive and we never felt that we were being rushed even though we were there for a while. Service was speedy, the food delicious and there was attention to detail. A very enjoyable meal would definitely recommend

Jan 2 2025 Based on the menu and reviews, we chose Marseille for a pre-theater dinner. We didn't have a reservation but sat at the bar. We had first-rate service from Madeline -- close attention …
Love Marseille! Usually stop by for the “oyster Happy Hour” which is excellent value! Oysters and a bottle of Rose Cava is always a good idea! Have had other items also, and totally recommend for a…
We went to the Marseiile while staying in NYC for our anniversary and thoroughly enjoyed our time. The restaurant is romantic and we sat at one of two red bistro tables from Marseille,France which…
Service, ambiance and food were excellent. Conveniently located close to Broadway shows. Comfortable and welcoming. Crab salad very good.
Fabulous and fun brunch. We sat at the bar and had outstanding service from Amber. She was attentive, adorable and very knowledgeable about the menu and drinks. All in all, an excellent experience!
Despite it being New Years Eve and a lot of preparation going on around us, we had a superb lunch, with good wine. Only negative was the cheeseboard which is a bit sparse!!!
I just arrived in town and my host selected this restaurant to celebrate. Everything was satisfactory, but not extraordinary. The mushroom soup was excellent, and the French onion soup was very good. Our party had the salmon special, the steak frites, and short rib. The steak was cooked as ordered but not quite tender enough, the short rib was tender and flavorful, but the salmon was a minor disappointment to the person that ordered it due to the lentils it was paired with. We ordered an apple tart for dessert that was also very good. But, at this price point something should have been extraordinary. I will say that our primary server was very friendly and attentive, as were the supplemental servers. Our water stayed full without being requested and we were able to get people's attention without it seeming like it took any effort. The environment was comfortable and not too loud. All in all a perfectly pleasant experience, but not one that made us want to go back the next day.
We had dinner at this restaurant before heading to a Broadway show, and it turned out to be a lovely French dining experience. The food and drinks were quite good, but the service left something to be desired. Even though our server was very kind, our table wasn’t checked on for long stretches of time, which was a bit disappointing. Overall, it was a nice meal, but I wish the service had been more attentive to match the quality of the food.
Really nice dinner and time. Neighborhood semi-regular over years. Ate at the bar. Had the onion soup. Perfect on a winter night! (Although even a great onion soup is a bit pricy at $16). Had the late night steak au poivre—-excellent; a little too done for MR, but the sauce was excellent. The Manhattan was perfect and Danny is an excellent bartender. Always consistent and friendly and welcoming. I see him be this way with everyone and it creates a warm bar experience on a very cold winter night. Makes one want to return. A shout out to the man who delivers the food. So friendly. And a great smile. Really the entire staff seems engaging and in a good mood. Even with the very minor critiques, a great meal and a good time.
The food fell a little flat. Pity because I had high hopes. The foie gras was pretty good though. They did the medium rare on my steak pretty well but the crust was burnt. Hostess at the front was mean (and not like in a French way lol) but the rest of the staff was amazing. Good atmosphere.
You should definitely try the lamb — tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The salads are fresh and well balanced, and their hamburgers are surprisingly good. The place has a lovely French touch in both taste and presentation. Staff is friendly, attentive, and the overall service feels very professional. A great spot if you enjoy refined flavors with a hint of French cuisine.
Came to Marseille for brunch before a broadway show and had a good experience! The staff were all very friendly and food came out quick. We got the avocado toast and eggs benedict. The avocado toast was delicious, eggs just runny enough and there was a generous amount of avocado. The potatoes and salad on the side were a miss though - potatoes were mushy and the salads dressing was not my thing. The eggs benedict was good, hollandaise sauce wasn’t the best but it was decent. The eggs were again poached perfectly. Canadian bacon was thin and crispy. Potatoes and salad on the side were a miss on this dish too. Overall, the main part of our dishes were good but the sides were not. I’d still consider this a nice brunch option near the theatre.
Great atmosphere capturing the French feeling. Although stating Biere Pression, they do not offer draft beer. However, there’s a good seletion of bottled/canned beers and wine by the glass. Additionally a large wine list. We had the pre fixed 3-course dinner, all cooked perfectally. Attentive service. Check the bill before paying, they added extra desserts on our but that got smootly sorted out before paying. Would come again.
I picked this restaurant because I had wanted to bring mom somewhere special for restaurant week and the menu selection just sounded so delicious and high class. I definitely knew that I would be needing to order escargots because when in a French restaurant ~ most definitely did not disappoint!!! Herbaceous and lemony and paired with the baguette. Say no more! The apps to entrée to dessert were dishes I normally wouldn’t make at home and the flavors were so intoxicating. Creamy , buttery, luscious, and for the desserts, not too sweet. But what was the sweetest and the cherry on top was our waitress, Sara ❤️ She was so attentive, sweet and made the whole dinner experience so comforting, comfortable and so relaxing. If you get the opportunity to have her as your waitress, consider yourself BLESSED! Come check out Marseille! The atmosphere is sophisticated, charming and so inviting. You have to come try their food! I will be back even if it’s not restaurant week!!
A very enjoyable meal. I had the bouillabaisse. My friend had the branzino. I couldn't resist also having onion soup, though I didn't really need to have ordered both. We spit the pot de creme for de…

Very nice Pre-Fix option, good food, drink on point, solid service, cozy atmosphere. I will definitely becoming back when in the area.
Had an amazing lunch with Rosie at Marseille. \n\nI had soup (onion) and salad, and garlicky spinach.
So we'd been trying to squeeze in a visit here for their Oyster happy hour the entire time of our stay. On our final day we finally made it, and it was somewhat a disappointment. While multiple oys…
french onion soup was delicious. Ambiance was great. I will definitely go back and highly recommend

Came here like a lot of folks for dinner before a Broadway show and had a great time. Definitely can recommend their prix fixe set as ordering just an app and an entree will already get you basically…
Great spot for a pre-show dinner! I docked a star because we were sat and then no one came to our table for about 15-20 minutes- they were going over the pre-service stuff, so I think that was why,…
Good, Solid French but nothing spectacular 3 For dinner to hang out and catch up. Seated promptly, not rushed with helpful and attentive service. Started off with the usual appetizers - Oysters …
The only disappointing dining experience on our visit to NYC. One of us ordered a ‘bouillibaisse’ which contained very chewy shrimp and pieces of fish. She left it. Another ordered a steak which se…
They offer oysters for $1.50 each during their happy hour (at the bar or table), they are the tasty blue point oysters from Connecticut. I had their skate as my main course, it comes with a butter sauce. It was good, but I have had much better skate elsewhere. On another visit there I had their Fava bean hummus, it was appealingly presented on the plate. I found that it had little flavor, therefore I was disappointed. Their sticky toffee pudding dessert (pictured below) is annually taken off the menu during the mild/hot weather months. It was as good as it gets anywhere. It came with a mild flavored vanilla bean ice cream.
Marseille is an interesting place. Sometimes it's a great experience and sometimes not. \nI think it's worth 3.5 stars actually. The créme Brûlée is fantastic. And at one seating ( I've been about te…

Went on Sunday, 4/6, around 5-ish, sat at the bar and ordered the shrimp beignets, the steak frite with fries, two Kronenbourgs. Shrimp was like tempura, coated and deep-fried with a tiny bit of so…
