Small pizzeria with a humble atmosphere and a small menu
Best Pizza and Chicken Rolls in Astoria
Very old school, with a very classic New York slice. Friendly, cash only.

One my favorite pizza place in Astoria
Love, love this pizzeria!!! And the customer service is EXCELLENT!! 👏👏
Love her Pizza🍕, everytime we are in that Area we must stop and get a slice or order a pie for the family. The best, highly recommend Samarias to everyone👍
Love the pizza here!!!
Have been coming here for years. Hands down the best pizza in ny.
My go to everyday Pizza Store. Old style slice and a cold drink place. Good food. Thank You
Best Crunchy Base pizza in whole NYC. Very Hardworking lady and dedicated to serve Humanity.!
Love the homemade style pizza and sauce. Just like Astoria the old fashioned places still around.
Best pizza in Astoria. Possibly in queens altogether. Cheap, quick, consistent and old school.
One of the very few pizza shops left in Astoria with great tasting pizza and lower prices than all of these new shops popping up.
Pizza has been delicious for over 40 years!!
Awesome neighborhood pizza joint, solid slices and the people working there are great.
THE BEST PIZZA IN THE ENTIRE ASTORIA ESTABLISH IN THE 21 PLAZA SHOP FOR MORE THAN 40YEARS I RECOMMEND 100%👍👍👏👏
Best slice in Astoria, we will definitely be back next visit.
Always great NY style pizza.
Has been around for as long i can remember and always great pizza
samaria pizza has been and still is the best pizza in astoria queens..
Saw this place on a YouTube video on cheap eats in Astoria and had to check it out. Was in love on the first bite. I love the crisp crunchy crust. That’s my favorite style of pizza . My son had one slice and was begging for another . Glad I made the trip for this one.
Best meatball parm hero in the neighborhood! I tried it for the first time yesterday and was surprised how good it was. The bread wasn’t too dense, soft inside, crispy outside, meatballs and sauce were flavorful and you can’t beat the price. 😃
the best pizza in NYC! the crust is always done perfectly. I hate when a slice cant withstand the hold test and is soggy and messy. I can say I've never had one slice of Samaria that way. The quality is incredible i've been going here since I was a kid in High school so I know it's always good and not just sometimes. The sauce is perfection and the proportion of sauce and cheese to bread is always spot on. The staff is always so nice and you can always order for parties and it's such a hit!! Such a reliable place when you need a good pie or slice. I am born and raised in astoria and this place has been there since the 70s and us NYers know pizza and this is it. This is NYC pizza at its finest.
One of the best slices of pizza I've had in Astoria and maybe even top 10 slices I've had in NYC, period. Definitely the best slice in this part of Astoria, hands down. Nice family-owned, low-key pizzaria. Must try! 🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻
I give 5 stars for the Spanish guy making the pizza , he was welcoming and friendly, but the lady cashier wasn't that welcoming. Slices were bigger than other pizza places . Perfect pizza great taste . I highly recommend this place, I just stop by to eat , because I was waiting for my niece to come out of school.
Amazing pizza! My family has been eating here for years and it’s consistently good. We always order from my grandmothers house and they know us very well, lol. 10/10!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Absolutely 💯 best pizza in nyc
Best pizza if they ever want to sale the place I would buy it in a heart beat
My vote for the BEST PIZZA SLICE IN NYC...I have been going the this gem of a pizza shop for over 20 years!! Both the owner and employees of this pizzeria are such great people... amazing pizza and an absolute joy to visit. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Excellent New York pizza IN ASTORIA!!!!!
Great pizza. Limited menu.
Best pizza ever.. perfect tomato sauce and crust and size
Very preferable dough texture and source. We usually order a whole pie with half pepperoni and half mushroom, my whole family enjoy Samaria’s pizza!
Family owned Pizza Store in Astoria. Has been in this location for many years. Very friendly, fast service. Best tasting pizza and Hero place. Made to order. My frist choice when orering Pizza.
Samaria is the best. Her slices do not flop when u hold it up. Perfect amount of crisp on the bottom without it tasting burnt
seems ok i tred their mushrooms slice was good
Been coming here since I could chew. Even after we moved, any time we visit Astoria? Its a must we stop at Samaria. You’re not getting any better tasting pizza anywhere else, or a bigger portion size than the slices they give. Prices are still extremely affordable, pizza is always, always delicious, pepperoni rolls a big hit, its the best. Family owned, and listen, it does get overwhelming, they been through a lot as a family and as a business but the passion and grit is there and its so admirable, adds to the experience and the taste, truly. Maria (Zambia I think her real name) is a community person and shes kind and hard working. One of the very few only wo(man) manning the oven, she deserves grace and kindness. And special shout out to her right hand man, Primo!!! He has been with her foreverr!!!Equally as admirable for all his hard work and dedication to delivering and making such delicious pizza! DELICIOUS! 🍕🍕🍕
Shoutout to Cheap Eats on YouTube for the recommendation. High-quality pizza here. Soft on the top, crunchy on the bottom. Definitely my new go-to spot when I’m in the area. Cash only.
Really kind staff (man) behind the counter, just wow. The slices are generous, pretty good, with a crispy crust. Not the best slice I've ever had in my life, but we've come back several times bc it's so convenient.
Mother & Son run the best pizza joint in Astoria, possibly all of Queens. Pizza taste and quality has been consistent since day 1 which is next to impossible considering how many pizza makers go through the life of a pizza shop. The crust, the slightly spicy sauce and the cheese all come together always and deliver with a kick to your mouth...
So nice, very affordable! We ordered a four-topping pizza and it was freshly made. Would come back again.
Best pizza in the area for a decent price, plus they have an original Mrs Pac-Man machine that takes quarters

The kindest people and fresh, hot, flavorful pizza plus heros, sides and specials that all just hit the spot. Always love stopping by this family-owned favorite when I’m in Astoria. A must stop for legit, local New York pizza!
I’ve been coming to this mom and pop pizzeria for over 20 years. It’s a staple in the area. It’s actually the mother and son who take care of it. There’s also a gentleman who has been with them for as long as I could remember. For a long time I was scared of the lady behind the counter. Then I spoke to her one day and realized how sweet she really is. She opened this location with her husband in the 1970s I believe, he has unfortunately passed away since but I am grateful that she kept the business going. I enjoy going there with my children because I hope that one day they, too, will remember the memories at this pizzeria. As a teen I used to enjoy the pac-man arcade machine there. The pizza is delish and there’s a very calm energy in the atmosphere. I would highly recommend this pizzeria. Make sure to have cash on hand. I believe it’s about $3/slice and $20/pie but remember, anything can change at any time.
Pizza is good sometimes with mushrooms pretty much thats all I get here these days I used to get their chicken sandwiches and or calzones which aren't the same any longer they used to display their calzones and such
Goood service thin crust pizza - love the plain slice slightly sweet. Price is very reasonable for the size
Delicious , fresh pizza and calzone and size of slice is big , recommended!
I’ve been coming to this pizza spot since I was a kid and we still come here decades later . It feels like home away from home with familiar faces. They treat you like family. The pizza still taste the same unlike other spots in the area that have altered their recipe. Each slice has the right amount of sauce, cheese and crust to make it just perfect. My family and friends grab a slice or two or even a pie once maybe twice a week. Thank you for having such yummy pizza
Samaria Pizza reminds me of pizza I had growing up in East Harlem. We lived in a predominantly Sicilian neighborhood and when I visited for the first time it felt like a blast from the past. The owner is such a lovely lady who greets you by calling you "friend" and is so sweet. The entire vibe in there is relaxing and inviting. Best mushroom pizza I've tasted in decades. They also have many other delicious items on their menu. Best place for the entire family. I recommend this spot.
I stumbled upon these after being in the area for years. I really wish it didn’t take me this long. I was served up my slices by the owner’s Son who told me when the Samaria’s first opened. It’s great to see a place stay in business for over 4 decades. The slices cost a little more than the ones on my block, but this is definitely a great example of you get what you pay for. Not only are they much bigger, but also really tasty. Next time I’m close by im definitely dropping in for more pizza and maybe a Meatball Sub.
This pizza spot has been here for a very long time and it’s no surprise why. The pizza is delicious. Good dough and lots of cheese. The woman who answers the phone is extremely friendly and so is the delivery guy. Prices are very fair and delivery time is reasonable. If they’re very busy, which happens often, especially on a Friday, they will give you a heads up on the phone prior to you ordering. Even on the busy days the food comes reasonably quick. Always hot and fresh with the same great taste.
I can’t believe I’m late to reviewing this place. Astoria staple in my opinion. Definition of modest mom & pop shop. A nice crispy slice. Great cheese/sauce ratio. It’ll run u $3 but it’s worth it.
One of the BEST pizzas in NYC! HIDDEN GEM! Undeniably the most underrated pizzeria in New York. This pizza has a distinct flavor that is unmatched. The setting is an homage to traditional classic New York pizzerias. I love this place. For the price, flavor, and atmosphere you can’t go wrong!
Born and raised here, moved away to Midwest. In town for a quick visit, stopped in for a slice.... Best I've had in 20 years. The real deal. I had wondered sometimes if I was misremembering how much better pizza is here. I was not. Heaven on a paper plate for 3 bucks.

Very Delicious pizza Staff is Very Friendly
Got a plain slice, $3. It was ok. I'd say a 6.5/10
Understated little pizza spot that does a great slice. Not too oily and good garlic knots also. Super reasonable on price also.
Their pizza's fine, but I never trust a pizzeria too cheap to have grated cheese 🙄
Great pizza. Nice thin crust. I love their eggplant parmigiana heroes also.
Gem of a little spot. Long history in the neighborhood. They only take cash, but there is an ATM. The 🍕 is some of the best in the neighborhood.
good pizza place the observes the old way of doing things. Slow and proper way of cooking things vs the fast food pizza style now a day.
Great NYC Pizza here. A lot better than many other options in the area.
Small little pizza shop that has excellent pizza! My Babe's favorite
This place has been here forever! It’s such a classic slice shop that has become harder and harder to find. The prices are low and they’re cash only so come prepared. You can order online for pickup if you forget cash but it’s definitely easier to bring cash. The chicken parm hero’s and chicken rolls should not be over looked. They are the best in the area hands down.
Cool pizza place, great service.
Also known as Samaria Pizza. It's just a narrow little storefront joint, but they've got an A in the window, and serve a really good slice of pie. The owner is behind the counter most of the time, and she's friendly & courteous.
Old skool pizza joint owned by a lovely family. Would I say it’s the best tasting pizza? It’s close. The sauce is sweet but not too much but the crust and dough is perfect for me. It could use more sauce though! It’s not a heavy, fall-apart-gooey pizza like some other shops so don’t come here expecting that. Cash only in person but can order via grubhub/seamless as well.

A slice of pizza is $3.00 that's to high.
Good pizza....have parking!!!!
If you like crispy pizza this is the spot
The pizza there is fast and affordable. However, the store is sometimes cramp and service can sometimes be slow.
pizza by the slice is great here 70s pizzeria the lady is real nice and amillio even though he doesnt understand most of anything you tell him he still knows how to make a decent pizza pie and he is the only cross dresser mexican ive ever met
Pizza isn't all that great. Can barely taste the sauce. Crust is extremely crunchy, which isn't for me but some people might prefer it that way
2020 August, would give another star but place needs TLC. Pizza is very good $3.00 a slice is good, No restroom, hang over for locals. August 2022 After 2 yrs later Price went up and quality went down. Hero, sandwiches is still not bad
Honestly probe pizza isn't that good it has a weird after taste but I liked the service so 2 stars
Pizza use to be good some time ago. Slice I gotten had no flavor in its sauce. Tastes like cardboard.
My wife just went there today to get each of us a slice, owner asked for smaller bill cause she was gonna give a 20 dollar bill.total came out to 6 dollars. The owner argued with her that she only gave 2 singles, then refused to give her change for her food.my wife has been a loyal customer to them for years and this is what she gets?.i am soooo upset
I would love to give them 5 stars. However, it lacks cheese and sauce. The crust is good.
Definitely not the best pizza in NYC. Skimpy on toppings, every slice seems to be thin crust and the topping are dried out too. Price point leaning to affordable flavor lacking!
It's fine. If you are there make sure to pay attention. Several times I have been waiting patiently for my order and walk up to the counter to check on it only to be told it's been ready for several minutes and "I called for you" or whatever. To top it off that comes with an attitude. It really is infuriating. You see me sitting there, my food is ready, why don't you get my attention instead of letting me sit there an extra five or ten minutes - in plain sight - and then give me an attitude when I check to see what's taking so long? I'm not deaf - this is the only place I've been to with this problem.
I would love to give them 5 stars. However, it lacks cheese and sauce. The crust is good.
This place is horrible! The cheese has no taste, it taste like glue. The sauce is unseasoned & plain.. like come on! Learn how to make pizza.. SMH
Ordered a mushroom slice ( they used can mushrooms) no flavor at all. Disappointed with the flavor as I was craving for a pizza for a long time... place doesn’t look clean. Go to subways better, their pizza has a better taste and is cleaner.
I have no idea how this conveyor belt cafeteria pizza survives in NYC. Flip it over and you can see the grill marks. Bland bland bland - dominant flavor is cracked pepper. No joke worst garlic knots I’ve ever had. Sad little bread balls that have to be seen to be believed. They look more like dumplings than knots. On the bottom of the foil they were wrapped in was about a tablespoon of oil with garlic. The garlic had that classic pre minced out of a jar look/taste.
