Opinions de Samaria Pizza Broadway
Been coming here since I could chew. Even after we moved, any time we visit Astoria? Its a must we stop at Samaria. You’re not getting any better tasting pizza anywhere else, or a bigger portion size than the slices they give. Prices are still extremely affordable, pizza is always, always delicious, pepperoni rolls a big hit, its the best. Family owned, and listen, it does get overwhelming, they been through a lot as a family and as a business but the passion and grit is there and its so admirable, adds to the experience and the taste, truly. Maria (Zambia I think her real name) is a community person and shes kind and hard working. One of the very few only wo(man) manning the oven, she deserves grace and kindness. And special shout out to her right hand man, Primo!!! He has been with her foreverr!!!Equally as admirable for all his hard work and dedication to delivering and making such delicious pizza! DELICIOUS! 🍕🍕🍕
Shoutout to Cheap Eats on YouTube for the recommendation. High-quality pizza here. Soft on the top, crunchy on the bottom. Definitely my new go-to spot when I’m in the area. Cash only.
Really kind staff (man) behind the counter, just wow. The slices are generous, pretty good, with a crispy crust. Not the best slice I've ever had in my life, but we've come back several times bc it's so convenient.
Mother & Son run the best pizza joint in Astoria, possibly all of Queens. Pizza taste and quality has been consistent since day 1 which is next to impossible considering how many pizza makers go through the life of a pizza shop. The crust, the slightly spicy sauce and the cheese all come together always and deliver with a kick to your mouth...
So nice, very affordable! We ordered a four-topping pizza and it was freshly made. Would come back again.
Best pizza in the area for a decent price, plus they have an original Mrs Pac-Man machine that takes quarters

The kindest people and fresh, hot, flavorful pizza plus heros, sides and specials that all just hit the spot. Always love stopping by this family-owned favorite when I’m in Astoria. A must stop for legit, local New York pizza!
I’ve been coming to this mom and pop pizzeria for over 20 years. It’s a staple in the area. It’s actually the mother and son who take care of it. There’s also a gentleman who has been with them for as long as I could remember. For a long time I was scared of the lady behind the counter. Then I spoke to her one day and realized how sweet she really is. She opened this location with her husband in the 1970s I believe, he has unfortunately passed away since but I am grateful that she kept the business going. I enjoy going there with my children because I hope that one day they, too, will remember the memories at this pizzeria. As a teen I used to enjoy the pac-man arcade machine there. The pizza is delish and there’s a very calm energy in the atmosphere. I would highly recommend this pizzeria. Make sure to have cash on hand. I believe it’s about $3/slice and $20/pie but remember, anything can change at any time.
Pizza is good sometimes with mushrooms pretty much thats all I get here these days I used to get their chicken sandwiches and or calzones which aren't the same any longer they used to display their calzones and such
Goood service thin crust pizza - love the plain slice slightly sweet. Price is very reasonable for the size
Delicious , fresh pizza and calzone and size of slice is big , recommended!
I’ve been coming to this pizza spot since I was a kid and we still come here decades later . It feels like home away from home with familiar faces. They treat you like family. The pizza still taste the same unlike other spots in the area that have altered their recipe. Each slice has the right amount of sauce, cheese and crust to make it just perfect. My family and friends grab a slice or two or even a pie once maybe twice a week. Thank you for having such yummy pizza
Samaria Pizza reminds me of pizza I had growing up in East Harlem. We lived in a predominantly Sicilian neighborhood and when I visited for the first time it felt like a blast from the past. The owner is such a lovely lady who greets you by calling you "friend" and is so sweet. The entire vibe in there is relaxing and inviting. Best mushroom pizza I've tasted in decades. They also have many other delicious items on their menu. Best place for the entire family. I recommend this spot.
I stumbled upon these after being in the area for years. I really wish it didn’t take me this long. I was served up my slices by the owner’s Son who told me when the Samaria’s first opened. It’s great to see a place stay in business for over 4 decades. The slices cost a little more than the ones on my block, but this is definitely a great example of you get what you pay for. Not only are they much bigger, but also really tasty. Next time I’m close by im definitely dropping in for more pizza and maybe a Meatball Sub.
This pizza spot has been here for a very long time and it’s no surprise why. The pizza is delicious. Good dough and lots of cheese. The woman who answers the phone is extremely friendly and so is the delivery guy. Prices are very fair and delivery time is reasonable. If they’re very busy, which happens often, especially on a Friday, they will give you a heads up on the phone prior to you ordering. Even on the busy days the food comes reasonably quick. Always hot and fresh with the same great taste.
I can’t believe I’m late to reviewing this place. Astoria staple in my opinion. Definition of modest mom & pop shop. A nice crispy slice. Great cheese/sauce ratio. It’ll run u $3 but it’s worth it.
One of the BEST pizzas in NYC! HIDDEN GEM! Undeniably the most underrated pizzeria in New York. This pizza has a distinct flavor that is unmatched. The setting is an homage to traditional classic New York pizzerias. I love this place. For the price, flavor, and atmosphere you can’t go wrong!
Born and raised here, moved away to Midwest. In town for a quick visit, stopped in for a slice.... Best I've had in 20 years. The real deal. I had wondered sometimes if I was misremembering how much better pizza is here. I was not. Heaven on a paper plate for 3 bucks.

Best meatball parm hero in the neighborhood! I tried it for the first time yesterday and was surprised how good it was. The bread wasn’t too dense, soft inside, crispy outside, meatballs and sauce were flavorful and you can’t beat the price. 😃

Saw this place on a YouTube video on cheap eats in Astoria and had to check it out. Was in love on the first bite. I love the crisp crunchy crust. That’s my favorite style of pizza . My son had one slice and was begging for another . Glad I made the trip for this one.

Old skool pizza joint owned by a lovely family. Would I say it’s the best tasting pizza? It’s close. The sauce is sweet but not too much but the crust and dough is perfect for me. It could use more sauce though! It’s not a heavy, fall-apart-gooey pizza like some other shops so don’t come here expecting that. Cash only in person but can order via grubhub/seamless as well.

I would love to give them 5 stars. However, it lacks cheese and sauce. The crust is good.
I have no idea how this conveyor belt cafeteria pizza survives in NYC. Flip it over and you can see the grill marks. Bland bland bland - dominant flavor is cracked pepper. No joke worst garlic knots I’ve ever had. Sad little bread balls that have to be seen to be believed. They look more like dumplings than knots. On the bottom of the foil they were wrapped in was about a tablespoon of oil with garlic. The garlic had that classic pre minced out of a jar look/taste.
