Awesome food and fun, lively environment. The portions are pretty sizable and everything was mouthwateringly delicious! Gejang (raw crab) was flavorful and didn't have any off flavors. Rose tteopoki was creamy and yummy. Jokbal was solid. The spicy octopous with creamy rissoto was kind of like the rose tteopoki. Spicy flavors alternated with cream/dairy. The banana milk bingsoo also tasted just like banana milk which was fun

Every winter I waited for their special Yellowtail Platte, its very good deal with full plate of fresh cut yellowtail (which is absolutely delicious), side dishes, three different sources, salad and rice or porridge. The quality just amazing. Other dishes at this place also very good, potato chips, mala pork sliders, and the special Myung Jak fruit wine, we were happy with everything we ordered. Run and make the reservation now before the seasonal special dish gone.

The food here is excellent, every dish was flavorful and perfectly prepared. Nothing felt overly salty or heavy, just clean and authentic Korean flavors. Overall, a great experience and I would highly recommend it.

amongst my top favorite bars in nyc. The atmosphere of the bar seating is great, and the bori risotto + pine nut pasta are SO good. I also recommend the scallop rice and if you like tteokbokki, try theirs.

Seoul Salon, as described by them, is a Sool Jib inspired Korean restaurant with a modern take on Korean alcohol and Korean foods. The vibe itself was nice, dim but not too loud, even with the edm/club music playing. The tables can feel a bit cramped, but it wasn't overbearing and we could talk even with all the background noise. The food was phenomenal, well priced and well portioned for sharing. We got the octopus kimbap, soy scallop with gim rice, and the raw marinated crab noodles. The Banchan was a ramen snack with ketchup, a good palate cleanser and tasty. The octopus kimbap was good, we didn’t think it was outstanding but it did taste good. The octopus was a bit uneven in the dish though, as some of our pieces had no octopus while others had a lot. The raw marinated crabs were a highlight, with a large portion of noodles accompanying it. As per their instruction, we mixed the raw crab meat into the noodles, which elevated the already tasty crab and noodles to make a spicy yet delicious noodle dish. The spice was a little on the spicier side, but nothing too spicy. A highlight was the soy scallop with gim rice. It had a great taste to it, a great portion of scallop, and each part of the dish worked perfectly together. The price is also really good for all the food we got, probably one of the highest quality meals we've gotten at the price we paid.

My friends and I have needed a spot for girls night and scored a reservation for Seoul Salon. This place was absolutely packed for a Thursday night, so definitely grab a reservation before you go. We were seated in a smaller room allowing for a more intimate dining experience. We ordered their limited time yellowtail platter, grilled tteokgalbi, rose tteokbokki with gimmari, Seoul salon pasta, and jokbal platter. The yellowtail platter came with a seasonal porridge, cuttlefish, whelk salad, sauces, aged kimchi, and gim. While it's recommended for 2, it easily fed the three of us. Their rose tteokbokki was really flavorful but we enjoyed it even more after it had cooled down and the flavors seeped in more. Their seoul salon pasta was the perfect amount of umami and one of our favorite bites of the night! The jokbal platter was MASSIVE. It was cooked and seasoned to perfection. Needless to say, this is the place to go for good food and drinks with friends! We will be back! Check out my foodsta @chiuventure for a closer look and more details of my dining experience here as well as other establishments in NYC and around the world!

My friend and I came by for a recent weekend dinner. Our reservation was for 6pm, and when we got there the place was still pretty empty, but definitely filled up over the next hour or so. The decor and ambience, a bit of a futuristic/metallic take on a diner (?), was interesting, but I didn't quite get the relationship with the cuisine/food or the concept they were going for haha We ordered two dishes to share - the soy scallop over rice and the rose tteokbokki. Soy scallops over rice - the scallops were soo delicious. Every one of them had a wonderfully light and fresh flavour that paired really nicely with the mixed-in egg yolk and the rice cooked with (seaweed?). Rose tteokbokki - first impression was that the sauce smelled really yummy. Other than that, the tteokbokki and the fish cakes were good, but nothing too special. I did like the gimmari, which is like fried seaweed wrapped around glass noodles. I've never had this before, so it was a very pleasantly surprising experience to try this for the first time. For dessert we ordered their only option, which is the banana milk shaved ice. The bowl is deceptively large, and we were lowkey struggling to finish. The ice had a very nice flavour, but remember that it's banana milk (i.e. the sweeter, partially artificial taste lol) than actual bananas lol. There was also a bit of ice cream buried underneath, and between those two and the hazelnuts sprinkled on top, I was a fan of the variety in texture and flavour throughout. For $13 this was actually quite inexpensive, and I'd definitely order this again next time. Portion sizes for our main dishes were certainly not very big, but for the two of us this time, these two dishes were enough, since we weren't very hungry. But ordinarily, I'd expect 2 people to need to order 3 dishes to share. Price point was nonetheless quite reasonable, but perhaps the $$$ rating for it comes from ordering some of their drinks, too? Their cocktails did seem pretty good, and I'd love to try one next time also.

Had an amazing dinner! Staff is amazing. Some of the best service I had in town. Food was korean with a twist, at the top of korean food trends, and it serves. Tteokpokki's Rose sauce was way better than what I had in Seoul. 뉴욕 장소 추천 많이 해주셔서 감사합니다!! The staff also took into consideration our requests at booking time :)

Recommended by one of my friends had a light dinner before Lady Gaga down the road. Really delightful meal. Really enjoyed the beer/soju mixed drink, and most of the cocktails were good as well. I really have to say, no doubt best corn cheese I’ve ever had, and the Ttbokbokki was super interesting! kinda like an Italian take on it. They also really were able to get a fantastic texture on the chicken, I would have ordered two plates of it! It’s really a classy place to eat, and loved the weird “mirror” they have when you walk in! Not totally perfect but nothing bad enough to not have it be seriously recommended. The salad was just unimpressive, nobody was really a fan of it, overall just too plain and my friend got the upsell cocktail, the taste of gold? when you have a premium cocktail you really expect it to be absolutely perfect and if all the ones we tried it was my least favorite. I would return as I think they have a bar with a separate menu or so I’m told🤣 I’m not in New York so much there days! But if you’re in the mood for Korean with a twist seriously give this place a try

This spot is great to go with a group of friends! Their portions are large, so come hungry. Prices are extremely fair. Some must gets are the rose tteokbokki, marinated crab with cold noodles, and scallop rice! It gets a little messy to eat, so I suggest not wearing white. Overall, it was flavorful, but a little too greasy. With some dishes, I could see the oil separating from the sauces. Also, their drinks taste strong. I enjoyed their separated rooms, away from the main dining room, but it's a little too dark in a muddy way.

Seoul Salon has a modern twist on classic Korean dishes, infusing them with fresh culinary twists. The soy scallop with gim rice was fresh, light, and scallops were sweet and creamy in texture. The rose tteokbokki was very creamy and almost felt like a fusion between Italian flavors and Korean textures. The basil was herby, flavorful, and stracciatella cheese slightly acidic, creamy, and infused the dish with a lightness and break in richness of the rose sauce. The tteok texture was soft, but still al dente to create a great bite. Lastly the spicy octopus with risotto was another blend of Italian & Korean flair, introducing soft, creamy Arborio rice with the crunchy, spicy, and flavor-packed octopus. Seoul salon’s menu is unique and curated to be filled with robust flavor & great textures. My only callout is the space is narrow so it can be difficult to have a conversation as it feels like tables are cramped/on top of each other.

Went for the yellowtail special they they do during the winter time. The yellowtail was juicy, and they gave us a hefty portion. We also ordered the uni, which was surprisingly creamy and sweet. The drinks were also pretty decent! I would love to come back to try the other menu items. The only thing I will say is that the service was kind of slow.

Russian speaking. Authentic Korean menu. Some positions don't show actual spice level, so beware. Crab with noodles not worth it since you can't taste the crab at all. Anyway, a lot of Koreans eat here.

The scallop rice dish was probably the best dish here. They charge a $25 cake fee, so maybe don’t bring a birthday cake here unless you’re willing to pay the fee.

Really enjoyed the Korean scallop bibimbap 🥢 — super refreshing and the scallops were fresh and tender! The Korean beef patty gets ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 (3.5/5), and the tteokbokki ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4/5) — great flavor, not too heavy. The karaage chicken was just okay, about ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 (3.5/5). Overall, good value and tasty food 😋 Perfect spot for a chill hangout or a few drinks with friends 🍶 — just make sure to book ahead!

Seoul salon is a lovely modern Korean restaurant that stands out for its beautiful presentation. You can truly see the extra flair and thoughtfulness added to every dish, making the meal a visual treat. Food 4/5 Service 4.5/5 Ambiance 4.5/5 The Highlights: Scallops (4.25/5): This dish was great. The tender scallops worked really well with the seasoned rice, and the addition of the runny egg yolk tied everything together perfectly. Beef Tartare (4.25/5): Very refreshing and clean tasting. I especially enjoyed the subtle gochujang kick that gave it a nice layer of heat without being overpowering. Minor Misses: Clams (3.75/5): These were the largest, juiciest clams I've ever had, and they were cooked just right. However, I found them to be too fishy for my taste Rose Tteokbokki (3.75/5): While the flavor was good, it had a harder, chewier texture than expected. For texture preference, I still lean toward the softer chew but also not too soft I get at places like 'Dduk Dabang’

Their dishes were mostly spotless. Great flavor and portions. The only downside was the noise. It was BAD. Not enough spaces between tables imo. One loud party of 5-6 can ruin your whole dining experience, which is exactly what happened to us. I feel that staff has to intervene at some point when some parties go wild, making everyone else raise their eyebrows.

We had reservations and were seated right away. Downstairs is darker and more casual bar like feels and upstairs is more well lit and more restaurant like atmosphere which I liked. The scallop rice is a must. The texture of the seaweed rice and the scallops were a wonderful mix. The octopus and barley rice had a nice Smokey flavor the bite of the barley really worked well with the octopus. The clam soup was refreshing and perfect with soju and the spicy octopus. The only dish I was disappointed with was the jokbal because it was overcooked therefore leaving the meat way too soft and almost mushy at some point. We also tried the Hana soju which was okay but would not order again. I’ll stick with Jinro is back.

Another good restaurant under Hand Hospitality. Went for dinner for the first time and the food was very good. I liked most of the items we ordered. My first time trying raw marinated crabs and they were very tasty! Spices in the marinade were well balanced and the crab meat was fresh and creamy. The scallop rice was also very good. The rice cake dish was rich as expected so careful if you don’t like something heavy. I also enjoyed the spice squid because it came with cheesed barley rice. Only disappointment was the clam soup. The clams were huge but the meats were hard to eat. Overall good place to get Korean comfort food and friendly service, will come back.

Seoul Salon NYC is a charming spot with a unique vibe that leaves you feeling a bit intrigued. The food is solid, though not exactly fireworks for your taste buds. We started with the scallops over rice, which were fresh, but could have used a little more zing to really stand out. The cuttlefish was fresh as well, but it felt like it was missing a bit of seasoning to elevate it. The pork hoc was the highlight of the meal; flavorful and satisfying, though still not quite packing the punch I was hoping for. The restaurant has a nice ambiance, but there's a feeling that it could be a bit more original in its offerings. The pricing seems a little on the higher side for what you get, but it's definitely not a bad experience. My main suggestion would be for the service to be a bit warmer; it would really help make the meal feel more welcoming. Overall, Seoul Salon is a pleasant place to dine, though it leaves you hoping for a little more excitement on the plate and in the atmosphere.

The experience at a restaurant starts with the host, and if the host is stiff and unfriendly, the customer’s mood will be negative from the start. The host was pretty rude. However, our server was friendly. Overall, the food was okay, similar to other restaurants with HAND hospitality. The only issue was the raw crab, which wasn’t fresh and wasn’t tasty. I hesitated about whether to continue eating it or not. I hope I don’t get a stomachache tonight.” The plating (the vegetable and rice served with hamachi) was very careless, and the food was served in a messy way.
