Brooklyn Kolache is great! The kolaches are really good (sweet cheese and lemon curd are my favorites) and the coffee is fantastic. The people who work here are always super friendly, too. The backyard is wonderful in nice weather.
The food and coffee are delicious! Always fresh! I wouldn’t go anywhere else for a snack or a place to just hang out, the vibe is very friendly and warm! I great neighborhood staple that makes you feel welcome.
"I’ve bean thinking about these kolaches all day. This spot has the perfect trifecta: great service, a comfortable atmosphere, and a variety of kolaches that’ll make you want to order one of everything. The blueberry is definitely the 'berry' best. If you love good coffee and even better vibes, you need to be here. I’m already planning my next visit!"
This place is magical. The baristas always make me feel so at home, the coffee is seriously one of the best in nyc, and oh my god those Kolaches are absolutely delicious.
One of my most favorite neighborhood spots they make amazing lattes, staff has the highest of vibes and most delish treats. Love this place!
The manager is the coolest. Always good vibes. The sausage cheddar jalapeno kolache with hot sauce and spicy brown mustard is one of the best bakes good in Brooklyn.
Love this place. Great service and kolaches! My only feedback is that the kolaches used to be cheesy and I’m not sure if they changed something or I just keep getting bad ones but I miss the way the cheese would be present in the jalapeño sausage and cheese kolaches. Now it seems the cheese is baked into the bread or not added at all. I want to see the cheese in there please and thank you!
i’m a regular here and love this coffee shop!! staff is so friendly and goes above and beyond to take care of everyone. friendly, down to earth, and such a great vibe all around. beautiful outdoor patio. highly highly recommend. this is a go-to!!!
Brooklyn Kolache manages to delight locals and tourists alike. Their stuff is always fresh and the service is always friendly. It's a neighborhood staple! Long may they reign!
This is place where I first try kolaches and they have so many great options. Highly recommend sausage and cheese flavor if you love savory food and blueberry cheese flavor if you have sweet tooth. The coffee here are great too. The space in the back is perfect for whoever what’s to work outside of their place.
I've been wanting to check out Brooklyn Kolache for a long time. As a longtime pocket food fan, Kolaches are a must. The staff was helpful and friendly. The server said that the owner is from Austin, so these could be considered Texas style Kolaches (as indicated by the Texan city referenced fillings). The dough is chewy and delicious, and the fillings are flavorful and delightfully spicy where appropriate. Will definitely order again.
A coworker said I should go here. I got the old man experience which a went to a boutique Czech/Slovak pastry place across from a vegan restaurant down the street from a cereal restaurant (8-bit 🙄) in an area that, when I was a strapping yet too pale 22 year old living on Myrtle Ave in 1991 I wouldn't have gone through this neighborhood in the middle of the day without a great deal of trepidation. Anythehoo my friend was right, this place is great. I got two savory (pimento cheese and spinach and feta) and the mighty Ant got two sweet (cherry and pecan -- the counter staff were split on which was was better so we got both). Outdtanding, both Kolach and staff. FANTASTIC time in the bathroom
This place is great! The Texas style kolache is super flavorful & has a great texture. The King Cake Roll is sweet, soft, and overall one of my favorite treats. The brown sugar ube latte is amazing! This is definitely worth the trip. My only complaint is the pricing. $6-$7 dollars for a 12 ounce latte is pretty high.
As a native Texan, these kolaches are authentic perfection! It literally doesn’t matter what you get every single one is delicious. The coffee is amazing, the servers are always SO nice, and the garden is a delight. I’ve spent plenty of days here with my laptop working and the people that use the space to work are polite. There are plenty of outlets, too. This is a perfect local café!
Authentic Texas-style kolaches! Both the sweet and savory flavors are so good! The pimento cheese is delicious! And definitely try the lemon curd and seasonal flavors like strawberry rhubarb! They have good coffee and a very friendly staff too. Can’t wait to go back to try other flavors.
I am happy that they have a location here. Besides the bread, their drinks are amazing too. I personally recommend their savory options a lot. 🍫☕️🥛Mocha is a YES! Super creamy with their housemade chocolate sauce. Coffee tasted good too. Coconut kolache was a solid one.ight not be impressive but a classic one.
This is a nice little place. The food is very tasty. The savoury as well as the sweet pastries are delicious. The feta one was slightly dry though but apart from this, it's totally worth going if you are in the area. The drinks were slightly underwhelming. But I didn't try the signatures. They have lavender drinks everyone seems to get.
I’m on a mission to find a decent matcha in the neighborhood and Brooklyn Kolache was my first stop. Unfortunately, they let me down. The baristas are nice and the Ube latte is quite good. The kolaches are good in theory but rarely hold up in reality due to their lack of flavor and fluffiness once they’re warmed up. Back to the matcha! I commend their effort to make homemade pistachio syrup and macadamia milk. However, if you’re going to make a matcha latte, please make sure there’s a healthy amount of matcha in it. Ended up with a $7 lukewarm cup of milk with a slight hint of matcha.
From what I tried their Oat Milk Latte is consistently strong and perfect. I also like with their iced drinks, how they don’t fill half the cup with chunks of ice which a lot of places do these days. Matcha Macademia and Ube Latte were both good. Lemon Curd had a refreshing lemony flavor. The texture of the bread was dense though. Orange Roll was extremely dry and bready as it looks. It was stale and it didn’t even taste like orange. The breads are nothing to rave about, the service was fine. I would recommend going for their drinks.
I have been wanting to try this place for a while, but to be honest was not very impressed. I got the poppy seed and the pumpkin (seasonal) kolache and there was not much flavor of pumpkin, and it was very doughy. The poppy seed was better but nothing special. If I am every in the area again, I will try different flavors, hopefully it will be better. Service was amazing and staff was very friendly.
My friend and I are originally from houston and currently living in Brooklyn. So we were of course super excited to try Kolache Brooklyn for a taste of food that reminded us of home. And Given that it is Mardi Gras season we were also seeking out Kolache Brooklyn to try their King Cake bites that we saw on TikTok. Unfortunately we had such a terrible experience we will not ever be stepping foot back in the cafe again. I arrived around 11:45 and attempted to order the Chaider (Seasonal Apple Cider Chai drink) advertised on the menu along with the Mardi Gras bites - only to be told they were sold out of both items for the day. Which was not only completely ridiculous but outright frustrating. I tried to order the Houston Style kolache and they were ALSO out of them. I proceeded to order a regular Sausage, Cheese, & Jalapeño kolache + Hibiscus tea - which I can at least say was pretty good. When my friend arrived at 12:20 we decided we would go elsewhere for King Cake but still wanted to grab more food. But by the time she got in line they were all sold out of ALL the kolaches with meat. All that was left was the Vegetarian kolaches - which again, were decent - but it was more of a Danish than it was a traditional Kolache. It is completely asinine that a place known for their KOLACHES is sold out of KOLACHES by 12pm on a Saturday. On top of all that, the staff rude and took 10 min to give me my second order of the Spinach and Cheese Kolache because they forgot about it. 3/10 experience. And the 3 is generous because the food that I did get to try was decent. Never going back.
I'll be blunt, I don't like these kolaches. It's purely down to personal preference though and no fault of the shop. Obviously, many people like them. I grew up with Czech-American kolaches in southeast and central Texas and these are not them. The split smoked sausage melts too much fat into the dough on the sausage and sausage/cheese ones which makes them greasy. I prefer the 'little smoky' styled sausage that I grew up with, I think it makes a better kolache. The fruit ones are more tasty but they're overly large so the fruit/dough ratio is less than ideal. On the plus side, they're a good value for the price. They'll definitely fill you up. Service was kinda slow but was friendly enough.
