We had such a great experience hosting our event at Commune! They paired us with an amazing local chef who came up with a delicious menu that totally fit our vibe + all the drinks at the bar were delicious and a huge hit with our guests. The space is beautiful and everyone was super helpful. They were even flexible enough to let us hang around after our event ended to continue socializing with guests. Highly recommend working with Vanessa and Dean for your next event :)
We hosted a very DIY wedding pizza party at Commune. Dean and Nessa are a dream to work with. So accommodating and helpful, welcoming and kind throughout the process which they made painless. They were so helpful the night of the event and Caroline the bartender was also so sweet and great at making everyone feel wonderful. Thank you so much!!!
Americano 4/5 Latte 5/5 Latte was sweet (w/o added sugar), creamy, and toasty! Would come back for thr latte. Americano is on the sour side, but no bad aftertaste.
V cute. Had a pastry and coffee on one occasion and some lovely wine and sake on another visit. Owner and his wife are super friendly and happy to chat with customers, and the space is cozy and beautifully decorated. Looking forward to checking out some of the pop-up events and enjoying the patio out back as it warms up!
Great wine selection and super friendly staff! They also have a nice selection of mocktails/unalcoholic drinks

We just wanted to say thank you for a magical party. It was so much fun and more than perfect. We cannot wait to throw our next party at Commune! Perhaps her first birthday! We thought you were super cool and were sad you wouldn't be at the party, but that was before we met Vanessa! With all due respect, she blows you (and basically everyone!) out of the water! Thank you so much again for such a lovely day. We appreciate it so very much and are deeply grateful for the memories created with loved ones.
My husband and I hosted our 40th birthday party at Commune recently, and we had the best time! Dean and Vanessa were wonderful in coordinating and planning the event with us. They took care of all our needs — food, drinks, private space and even allowed us to bring in our own DJ. Commune is quickly becoming a neighborhood institution. They also happen to serve the best coffee!
I was told this place was good by a local neighbor and indeed it was. I will come back for the weekend popup food and to try the wine bar. It was early so I had a matcha latte and a gluten free cookie, and both were top tier. The barista was very nice, answered my pastry questions and surprised me when she asked if I wanted my latte sweet or not since most just make it sweet by default. I don’t like it sweet, so it was perfect. I also met the owner who was very friendly and showed me around the space. The inside decor and vibe was stunning, it felt very cozy almost like a historic lounge in old San Juan. I will definitely be coming back, it could be a great date or lounge spot for sure.
I loved Commune! I came in the evening for the wine bar, and the entire staff is so kind and welcoming, and gave great recommendations of their natural wines. The decor, ambiance, and outdoor garden is excellent and perfect for conversation. I will definitely be back.
The coffee here is undeniably delicious, but what truly steals the spotlight is Alicia's sourdough bread. It's so remarkable that I almost hesitated to share this review, wanting to keep Clinton Hill's hidden gem under wraps. But I gotta say, it's hands down the best bread I've ever had.
We loved hosting our private event here! The space is beautiful and they have a fantastic wine selection. The booking process was smooth and the owners are very friendly. Would highly recommend!
We just hosted our (fairly large) baby shower at Commune this past weekend, and it was a truly positive experience. I’d wholeheartedly recommend Commune to anyone—from those looking for a relaxed evening with wine to those planning a beautiful gathering or celebration. The venue also hosts a range of thoughtful events centered around international food and music, which adds to its charm. Dean and Vanessa, the owners, were incredible to work with—gracious, patient, accommodating, and genuinely kind. We wrapped up the day feeling deeply grateful and so happy we chose to celebrate at Commune. We wouldn’t change a thing. Thank you, Commune!
Rented out the space to host a small gathering for friends and it was lovely. NY apartments can be so cramped - it was nice to host here and also not have to deal with the post-party cleanup. The Commune team was easy to connect with on details over email before the party and accommodating when it came to setting up at the start of our event. We opted to bring in our own birthday cake / snacks so can’t speak to the food; but the drink and wine list were great! And really love the aesthetic and vibes of the space. Would recommend!
Fantastic experience hosting at Commune! The team is so accommodating and generous with their time and support, making the logistical end of things feel easy and calm. A great atmosphere made an intimate vibe while the space nevertheless allowed for a big group. Can’t wait to do something theee again!
We recently hosted a baby shower at Commune in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn, and it was amazing! Dean and Vanessa were fantastic to work with—super helpful with everything from tables and chairs to ice, making sure everything went off without a hitch. Leading up to the event, they were great communicators, always making us feel like family. We had about 40 people, and everyone loved the space. The interior is gorgeous and the vibe is just perfect. The staff at Commune are incredible, and their wine selection added a great touch for the adults. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate such a special occasion. Huge thanks to Dean, Vanessa, and the whole Commune team for making our baby shower unforgettable. We can’t wait to host our next event here. Highly recommend!

This review is about sustainability! I was delighted to see that your café offers real, reusable mugs for customers who are staying to enjoy their drinks. I also love that you do not serve plastic bottled water, and offer composting infrastructure to those who want to participate! That said, I noticed a lot of customers staying to work or read seemingly did not know to ask for the reusable option. Perhaps there are ways you can build that into the ordering routine, to ask folks if they want to have their drink to stay? By 2050, there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish, so it means a lot to me to see and support businesses that offer circular options to their customers. Thank you for considering how to better promote the wonderful reusable options that you do have, either in person or on social media, or both! And thank you for the really delicious cappuccino the other day, I’ll certainly be back.

Been in the morning for a quick coffee and trying to get warm on a rainy November day. Forget about getting warm, all doors open through and through, I was simply freezing in there. Other than that, coffee is delish and pastries are pretty ok. It is very spacious inside but again, dead cold.

The scone was the hit at this quiet spot. The atmosphere was great for any day trip however the coffee which should be the star was not. There is no mixture of added to that base that will lift me up without a run to the toilet. 🤣 improvements are definately needed. Again, to be clear the baked items are a hit.

I’ve tried to give this place a shot at least 50 times to support the neighborhood, but each time has been disappointing. Do not come here on a week day for coffee unless you have at least an hour to wait. The service is nonexistent, and today I waited 15 minutes just for someone to arrive at the cart to make coffee. I can’t speak for their food, but the drip coffee at least has never once been smooth. I’m a very patient person but this has just been a laughable establishment for the past several years it’s been here
Commune Wellness is supposed to be about wellbeing and their services is just the opposite. When I first joined, I paid for the 21-day jumpstart series. Then they changed their platform, but I did not receive any money or advance notice. I subscribed to the 14-day trail was could not cancel the membership after two (2) days. I emailed and found myself in an email loop that just kept cycling. Take about avoidance performance. I immediately receive an email acknowledging my email and a not indicating that there is an email backlog. DO NOT SIGN UP OR TRUST the company.
