Beautiful brunch with great flavors and presentation. We ordered coffee and a lavender latte. For food, we had the Fromage, Oeuf & Bacon on the croissant and the Bénédictine with Black Forest ham. The Fromage, Oeuf & Bacon was rich and satisfying, with flaky pastry, melted cheese, and egg. The Bénédictine with the Black Forest ham, poached eggs done just right. The fresh salad on the side balanced the dish nicely.
Consistently excellent service and food. I can’t believe after so many goings, I haven’t written a review! The quiches are incredible, the fruit perfectly ripe and crisp, and their coffee selection is very thorough considering it is not all they do. Seats fill up quickly, so I do recommend going early or on a weekday.
Couleur Café in Brooklyn has become our absolute “go to” breakfast spot every time we’re in town. The entire menu is phenomenal — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. And the coffee… just wow! Having once owned a café in Portland, OR, I can say with confidence that their barista is truly gifted. He serves lattes in a small bowl with stunning latte art that elevates the whole experience. Each visit, the service has been nothing short of excellent. Even though we only come in every four to six months, they always recognize us and make us feel like regulars. The intimate atmosphere instantly transports us to a cozy neighborhood café in France, as though we’re sharing breakfast with locals near Prospect Park. If you’re looking for an outstanding breakfast or brunch experience in Brooklyn, Couleur Café is a must.
Owners are amazing people. Started coming here last fall and fell in love with the couleur sandwich, switched up my order a few months later, got the croque madame, single handedly the best breakfast I’ve ever been served. Cannot recommend this place more. Everything is great from ambiance to service and especially food quality.
I had their seasonal mango/peach/mint lemonade (with a couple of slices of lemon, strawberries and blueberries as well) - absolutely loved it! ❤ Also tried red lentil soup which was delicious and comforting. The place has a nice atmosphere and even a couple of tables outside (the street is quite loud though). Anyway, a lovely spot, I'm glad I discovered it.
First time visiting New York, wanted to try something fresh & new & stumbled across this quaint little cafè. I had a sandwich with homemade chips & that was delicious, hot & fresh. The ambiance is welcoming & the service top notch. You are greeted with smiles from you enter the door. You can opt to dine in or outside. The grapefruit mimosa was delicious, it was really refreshing. I would most definitely be back before my trip is over ☺️
Once in a while, I wish Google ratings went from 1 to 10, because I often give restaurants a 5 of 5 when the really should get a 9 of 10. I like to be generous when rating an establishment, so I round up. Couleur Cafe would get a 10 of 10. We came here for a late Saturday brunch with a party of 3. We had a Salad Nicoise, Kale and Butternut Squash Salad, Saumon Fume Croissant as our mains, plus Creme Brûlée, Mousse au Chocolat, three Cappuccinos and 3 Moroccan Mint teas. Every single one of those things were delightful, especially the Salmon Croissant and Salad Nicoise. The small room is cheerful and the staff is friendly and attentive.
I recently had brunch at Couleur cafe and I must say, the food here is consistently excellent. The coffee is fantastic, but the matcha is even better—definitely a must-try. The almond croissant was delicious as always, and this time I tried the kale salad, which was surprisingly good—fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. The portions are generally adequate, but I did find the avocado toast to be a bit too small for its price. Despite that, I'll definitely keep coming back for brunch. The overall quality and atmosphere make it a great spot for a relaxing meal.
I found this cute cafe and here's what I have to say about it. The Berry crape was delicious, very flavorful and sweet, It came with some whipped cream on the side, sooo good. I also got a nutella beignet that was do cute and really good. My dad got the eggs Benedict with a side of potato wedges. He also got this HUGE latte. It was like the size of my plate.
This is a long-time staple in the neighborhood when many businesses have shuttered… which is proof that this is a very good cafe. First, the croissants 🥐 are made fresh in the morning, I’ve been here early and have gotten them as they are warm and it’s incredible. Slice Test: see video of a fresh croissant being sliced with the crispy, crunchy flakes breaking off. You can’t get that with a stale, spongy croissant. Great coffee ☕️ and other breakfast items like quiche or more traditional fare if you want eggs and potatoes. There are healthy options like oatmeal or granola with Greek yogurt and fresh fruit. Great place to take out-of-towners for a nice breakfast / brunch. Best to go early to avoid lines. Highly recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Ever since I went on vacation for the second time to Paris recently, I began to really fall in love with everything French. Visiting the Couleur Cafe in Park Slope was like visiting a cafe in Paris. It was very homey and inviting with a rustic interior and old maps of Paris on the wall. My main dish, coffee, and almond croissant for dessert was delicious. The place was packed when I visited it, which told me how popular it was to the locals in the area.
It's amazing that such delicious food comes out of their tiny open kitchen. Typically side salads are an afterthought at most other places, but not here. Their homemade Dijon dressing is scrumptious enough that you want to lick the plate! Their breads, 7-grain toast, crepe and beignet, are all yummy!
My friend and I went out for brunch and stopped by Couleur Café. As usual, I like to ask the waiter for recommendations and I’ll more often than not go with it. They recommended the Organic lamb merguez sausage. It was delicious and the first time I ever tried lamb sausage. The fries were crisp, salad was yummy and eggs were good. It’s a rather small and cozy place. I hope to be back again someday.
Nice cafe with attentive staff, nice food and beverages, great decor/ambiance in perfect location. Beautiful ✔️ Coffee✔️ Ambiance✔️ Decor✔️ Service✔️ WC✔️ I love a comfortable space to go with friends for coffee and light fare, and this place is just right. It has a very warm, cozy, and welcoming atmosphere. The rustic/worn decor gives it a great urban cafe charm that feels like a great blend of Paris and Brooklyn. It is small and three of us were lucky to get a table right away. The staff is very mindful and keeps things moving rather efficiently. Everyone in my party enjoyed the food, a salad with salmon, an avocado sandwich, and I had the crepe with Nutella. The crepe was nice and perfectly not too sweet. The one thing that would really be awesome is stronger air ventilation to keep air more neutral.
Stopped into Caldor Café for a quick lunch, ordered the croque monsieur and mushroom soup. The croque was solid: crispy bread, generous Gruyère, well-balanced, but not particularly memorable. The kind of dish that satisfies but doesn’t stay with you. The mushroom soup tasted like… mushrooms. Earthy, warm, but very middle-of-the-road. Staff were kind and efficient, water came fast, and I got an outdoor table right away. They did try to move things along a bit quickly, but I slowed the pace and they rolled with it. All in all, a perfectly fine neighborhood café. Nothing bad, nothing standout, just a simple, good-enough stop if you’re nearby.
