Great place, excellent beer selection & great people behind the bar!
Phenomenal bar. Great beer selection. Check out the fridge for hard to find bottles.
Great beer selection, kinda small but it's really good!
Very inviting and a great selection of beer. The wifi is fast so I can stare at my phone and be super anti social as I get drunk by myself. I'm so lonely....
Nice bar, chill, great stuff on draft, and there are some real gems in the fridge if you are willing to dish out for them.
Great beer selection, bartenders are out of this world.
Love Hops Hill, great extensive list of beers both standard and rotating, in draft and in cans and bottles.
If you want craft beer and light snacks to go with it you're at the right spot, never fails...they also have a small cozy outside area in the back
Great beer selection and chill spot. 32oz crowlers to go!
Austin is super friendly and helpful. He also offers very fast service and uses his downtime to beautify the bar.
Nice bar with an excellent craft beer selection. Nice back patio too.
Nice quiet neighborhood place to grab a beer - choose from an excellent selection of craft beers and ciders.
One of the best draft lists in the neighborhood. Knowledgeable staff. "Crowlers" to go. Small outdoor area in back.
Great rotating beer selection, and Mike is the man. Awesome bar.
One of a kind beer spot. No pretense, no bullshit. Just good stuff on tap from knowledgable bartenders.
One of the best craft beer bars in the city. Dennis may be the best bartender of all time.
Best beer selection in Brooklyn, and some of my favorite bartenders. My favorite place to grab a beer.
Simply great beer and laid back atmosphere. Music does the trick. Really can't beat the fresh kegs and regular rotation of craft beers!
Huge bottle and draft selection, a great place for beer snobs. They also fill these mini keg things that they call "crowlers". Kind of like a growler can.
Great bar. Bartender was friendly and they had an excellent selection on Tap. Good local selection to go as well.
Solid chill spot for a great beer. Selection is on point and great atmosphere.
The stout on tap was Devine!! Nice and cozy spot. We spent hours in the booth by the window. Classy!!!
Great selection of beers and spirits! The space is small and the staff are friendly and are always down to give a recommendation.
Nice bar, all kinds if beer including non alcoholic beers. Great people, nice bar man.
Excellent servive sand beers
A great place to get a drink, especially if your into Craft Beer selections. Small yard in the back with tables, staff is great. Will be our spot to go to hangout and drink great beer
Among the best beer bars in Clinton Hill. The evening I visited they had both a sour and a berliner weisse on tap, as well as some great IPAs. Not a particularly inspiring space, but it was unpretentious, uncrowded and friendly.
Very nice place! Great beer and chill atmosphere. Sat at the backyard and was perfect.
Great selection, pricy for out-of-towners, but seems competitive for NYC. Bartender was prompt and knowledgeable. Can watch sports here. Not a ton of seating, but not an issue when I visited
Great place just to pop in warm.uo and wet your whistle plenty cans or draft + your standard line of LIQS BOB was great he attentive friendly knowledgeable paired my Jameson shots with a tasty IPA definitely a worth a visit and return visit pleasant atmosphere
Perhaps my new favorite beer bar, Hops Hill has great bartenders, an impressive selection of brews, and a relaxed casual atmosphere with upscale fixtures; the marble bar is super classy.
Great beer list on tap and bottles of new and rare beer. One of the top beer bars in the city with a low key vibe, room to sit and best prices anywhere.
Excellent beer selection (both on tap and in cans for stay or to go), incredible whisky options at great prices.
Love this spot. Great selection of beers, reasonable prices, And it’s dog friendly!
Fave place in the area. Always good vibes and good beer. Will always come back
Best beer shop and taproom in the area! You can expect great prices and varieties on to-go cans. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. Stop by to enjoy your favorite, or least favorite, team play on the tv. They also have a great selection of liquor for non beer drinkers and non-alcoholic beverages for non-drinks!
I really like this spot. Always have the latest can releases. Great tap selection, bartenders have a good knowledge of beer. They also have spirits, which is great if you're in a group of non beer drinkers. They also have Crowlers, which is great if you want to take beer to go.
One of the best beer bars in Clinton Hill! The bartenders are so friendly and the beer selection is consistently great
Undoubtedly one of the best beer bars in the NYC area. Great selection, great staff that is very knowledgeable about the beers on tap and very reasonable prices for what they have. The food is also great if you try one of their paninis. This place is low-key without being snooty, highly recommended for great beer.
Great time. Mike was a great bartender. Vibes were great.
one of the best places for craft beer in all of the 5 boroughs!!!! Nobody has a better selection of Suarez, Hill farmstead, Prairie, Oxbow. not to mention their whiskey selection is out of this world.....If you genuinely enjoy craft beer in a great neighborhood with great food options, Hops hill is the place to go!!
Rustic feeling bar that serves a great selection of craft beers at affordable prices. It's located across the street from Emily (a popular and delicious restaurant). If you're looking for a fun date night, grab a drink or two here before getting a bite there, it's a great combo!
Great place for the latest in good northeast beers, from hot names like Hill Farmstead and Suarez to the latest collaboration brews from around the country. Pricing is extremely fair, the crowd is always a good one and do yourself a favor, close this review and go have a damn beer.
Awesome bar in Clinton Hill down the street from Pizza Loves Emily, great spot to wait for a table. They had a really good selection of craft beer, one of the best in the city. They have Crowler Machine too, can put your beer in a can and seal it up to take home. Really cool spot - will come back.
A great beer bar with a good selection of craft beer and spirits usually a few ciders on tap as well. There are also a few dozen bottles and cans available to drink on site or take away. Many of the beers on tap are also available for take away as crowlers. Bartenders are knowledgeable, friendly and down to earth. There have been issues with their fridge which meant they couldn't make sandwiches but they seem to have resolved this.
Comfortable little spot that specializes in beers and hops of all kinds! Bartenders are wonderful and carry a plethora of different drinks!
Feel thirsty? This is the place to come to cool down after hectic work day or week and enjoy the evening with variety of beers. Revolving beer selection and knowledgeable staff will find the match to your palate and mood.
Hops Hill is pretty new, but is already a prototype on the right way to run a beer bar. Their tap list is full of interesting stuff, including a lot of options from local breweries (Other Half, Finback, etc.). Didn't find what you like there? They have a lot of interesting bottles as well, including some rarer stuff (BCS, Crooked Stave). They're also the only bar in NY that I've seen offering Westvleteren for sale which is above and beyond. The bartenders are knowledgeable and friendly. The lighting is on the darker side but not too dark that you can't read the menu. The place has a roof and some chairs. That's really all a good beer bar needs, and yet plenty of places manage to screw it up. It also happens to be a great place to wait if you're trying to grab a table at Emily down the block. I wish the owners luck although it definitely seems like they don't need it, and I hope to come back up here soon.
I had an amazing meal. Korean wings were delicious. Service was great. I asked who made my food and his name was Ethan. He is very handsome and strong and I have a crush on him now.
Fantastic selection on draft, friendly and helpful bartenders, a cute little backyard (especially in warmer months), dog-friendly, and an unexpectedly extensive whiskey collection which I highly recommend exploring.
one of the best beer/bottle shops around. the beers are on quick rotation and there’s a full bar if you’re into that kinda thing.
Lucky to have this place around the corner. Awesome staff and you can’t beat these beers. Can’t wait to have a drink on the back patio here again, but takeout cans and crowlers have saved our sanity these past few months!
Really nice selection of both tap and bottle/cans. They don't have any particularly heavy focus on any styles so you can find something for anyone, even people who don't much like beer can find something they like in a sour or pilsner.
It’s great to have this neighborhood bar even greater to get a warm welcome by the bartender Denis. His charisma and knowledge of all the craft beer at Hops is very intriguing and he takes his time to explain them all. I will always pop in when Denis is working.
Came in to kill time and have a beer. The beer selection is *chef's kiss*. I wasn't planning on buying a 4 pack of cans but left with a variety of delicious sour IPAs recommended by Justin. Best spot in brooklyn for local brews!
Great beer list. Stacks on stacks of cans to go.
The beer bar with a large selection that changes often. Justin was a great bartender, knowledgeable, conversational, and friendly. Perfect place to relax and have a beer you haven't tried.
Hops Hill has the best craft beer selection in NY and their bartenders are super knowledgeable about what’s on tap. The owner Joe has created a great bar for locals to enjoy excellent beer for a good price. Bartenders Mike, Austin, Kenny, John, Leesa and Dennis are all incredible and keep us coming back.
been going there since forever. I am finally writing a review. got to meet Dennis tonight, so happy to see their newer staff is keeping the tradition alive. a local bar in the truest sense! a neighborhood gem
Great selection and interesting wall art contribution to awesome beers. Friendly staff! Their draft selection is unreal. Who gets hill farmstead on tap? These guys do. Seriously, a hidden gem in Brooklyn that somehow has some of the best beers across the country on tap. Kudos to their thoughtful tap list.
Cosy bar with friendly staff offering a range of craft beers (12 taps with rotating beers). Hops Hill also offer an impressive range of whiskey as well as serving cocktails, but the clue to why you'd primarily go here is obvious :) The beers here were really good & bar made sandwiches really tasty. Definitely a place to go back to.
Fantastic selection of beer in a comfortable and spacious setting. Not amazing on the ambiance but nice.
Clean. Great selection. Knowledgable staff who knows their beers! Good experience.
Nice beer selection but the bar tender lacked a lots of energy and motivation.
The beer selection is unique and worth checking out for a special night out. If you aren't into craft beer, it is not for you.
Small space inside and even smaller space outside. They've got a wide range of craft beers and a solid bar. Bartender knew what he was doing, nice pours and a laid back, knowledgeable personality.
Nice neighborhood craft beer bar --- I visited on a Friday night. The bar wasn't packed. The draft lines offer great selections of beers and ciders. The place is not that big --- a bar and a few tables near the front. The bartenders are nice and friendly. Never tried the sandwich, but they do offer sandwiches and chips. Would definitely come again on my next visit to Prospect Heights.
Great vibes. Great beers. Great backyard. Very much a community feel. Seems like there are a lot of regulars. Good spot on the weekend for couples who are in between brunch and a movie. Decor is ok, don't go here expecting anything lavish. It's exactly what it's meant to be - a place to lay back and drink good beer. You're able to take away cans and crowlers (larger cans) here.
A rather tiny craft beer bar that specializes in bringing great beer to the thirsty Brooklyn market. I can only imagine how quickly it can get packed; if you're familiar with Proletariat, it's just a hair bigger. The bottle list and draft list are consistently one of the best in New York City, and there are plenty of events that bring great tap takeovers their way. Hops Hill is a must stop for any craft beer fan that's visiting the city!
Wandered in after stumbling on it when visiting the Kelso brewery round the corner. Great selection of beers on tap and in the fridge. They even stocked bottles from a small brewery from the north west of Ireland. Had the sandwiches as well, nice short list, freshly made and very nice. Will pop back when in NYC again.
Great selection but way over priced. All of the bottles have almost a 50% mark up. Plenty of other places around with a similar selection and priced more reasonably.
Please change the lighting. All you have to do is cover/darken the lamps over the bar. Please. The light is harsh and it makes me not want to ever come back here again. Gel the beer cooler lights with red or blue. Change the glass covers over the Edison bulbs. You could also change the white bulb in the drop ceiling ‘hats’ In front of the exit sign by the front door. Thanks 👍
Having lived in the neighborhood for the past 4 years, I feel inclined to give my two cents. First of all, let's start with the positives. The bar itself is clean and cozy with a friendly staff. It also offers a large selection of quality craft beers, on par with offerings you'd find at the many craft spots around NYC. However, the prices here are easily the most expensive in the area (Clinton Hill, Fort Greene, etc.) I don't really mind paying more for a superior product, but I can't help but notice when the same beers you might find at Tørst are actually more expensive at Hops Hill. And the prices are noticeably higher than at quality nearby beer spots such as Covenhoven, Glorietta Baldy, and Fulton Grand. The prices remind me of Fools Gold in the LES, which offers similarly high prices and an unparalleled ambience IN MANHATTAN. Also, at least to me, the ambience of the bar hasn't really gelled yet and it still has a bit of a manicured, sterile feel. Don't get me wrong. I'm glad to see parts of Fulton Street get a makeover, but at what cost?
Service was uninspired, dirty and wet tables in the back "patio". Beer was good.
There was a dog that was allowed to sit there and bark while everyone else was trying to enjoy themselves. Tried sitting outside but was too stifling. The sour was decent,
Leesa the bartender was very rude, unwelcoming giving very much Karen vibes. She was very pleasant to the other guest who are Caucasian. To me and my friend very racist and rude
The beer selection was great and the space is cool. Unfortunately the woman bartender there Friday afternoon was quite unfriendly/dismissive and only seemed to want to chat with one person. Unfortunate because the beer was great but for me, a big part of going to a neighborhood Brooklyn bar where I’ve lived for years is for the vibes/community aspect which was lacking that specific time
Truly embarrassing visit. Context: we love great beer and travel for it. Have never been to a place this bad. The worst bartender I’ve ever had. I am 60 years old. Hated us from moment one-not sure why. Drive 2+ hours to get here-beer seemed great. Would rather poke my eyes out than ever return. Woman was despicable. Hated her job. Hated the world. Is this why I spend $14 for a beer? To feel her vibe?! No thanks. Came for my birthday. Worst place I can imagine. Horrible. Good beer but it wasn’t worth this.
