The food was fabulous. Perfectly made fried calamari, filet Mignon and cheesecake.
Great food and drink... even better people. Happy hour and steaks are a highlight, but you cannot go wrong with anything on the menu.
We really liked the atmosphere in this restaurant - it feels like old New York from Scorsese movies. The service was very good: polite and careful. The beer was fresh and tasty, not weak like in many other places in NYC. We had a ribeye steak, and it was cooked very well, with great flavor and the right amount of salt. I also had the onion soup - it was delicious and made the right way. The prices were very reasonable for this kind of food and service. We’re so happy to have discovered this gem in New York, and we’ll definitely be coming back!
I just had my first experience eating here today and it most certainly won't be my last. The restaurant is beautiful and clean. They really take the current pandemic seriously by taking temperatures and doing contact tracing. The service and food is absolutely fantastic. You truly get your monies worth with the portions and prices are extremely reasonable. Highly recommend!!!
My first time there. We had a good time. The restaurant has a nice ambiance and great decor. I liked the pictures of the Verrazzano Bridge during it's construction. The staff was friendly and very attentive. Good options of food priced accordingly. I loved the pork chops, nicely grilled. Parking could be a challenge around the area but valet parking was available.
It's a good place. The steak is key. The bartenders are friendly except when you play Quick Draw in full bar. But you will have good time.
The large bar/restaurant is located in the Bay Ridge section of Brooklyn. They primarily prepare Irish/American cuisine. Soups, salads, sandwiches, appetizers, various entrees including steaks and burgers are available. The full-service bar has beer and mixed drinks. The hamburger platter was very good with a nice-sized patty including french fries, lettuce, tomato and pickle. Friendly and helpful staff.
~ FOOD~ # visit 1 -- Steak was a little underdone - not what was requested - and the shrimp smelled excessively of the ocean. The shrimp scampi was textbook quality and, thankfully, exceedingly fresh. The tiramisu - shibboleth for every Italian restaurant I visit - was pretty forgettable. The final act of the night - a delicious hot toddy spiked with just a touch of Bailey’s - was just perfect. # visit 2 -- Fish and chips were surprisingly outstanding; the sole was fresh, breaded and fried perfectly; the accompaniments (tartar sauce, salad, etc.) struck just the right note. ~ ATMOSPHERE ~ Stately and old fashioned. Roomy enough for people-watching but with ample nooks and crannies for privacy. ~ SERVICE ~ Always prompt, and waiters do not linger unnecessarily.
We went during happy hour and got calamari and burgers which were an at the bar happy hour special for 50% off (wings were also on special). The calamari was cooked perfectly with a light and crispy breading. The burger was quite large and very tasty with hand cut fries which were actually crispy instead of the limp and greasy ones I usually encounter elsewhere.
I went to this restaurant to try their restaurant week menu. In my opinion the 4-course lunch for $30 was a good deal. The waiter was very friendly and accommodating. All the dishes that I have tried were quite tasty with the exception of pork chops. The pork chops were overcooked and so dry that it was quite difficult to cut them with the knife; however, the side of mashed potatoes was very good. Overall, this was a good lunch experience and I can recommend this place, but definitely skip the pork chops and order something else.
My husband found this restaurant online. We went there for dinner. I didn't understand why it's called steak house. In fact, it's typical Italian restaurant, but we didn't know it and wanted to eat steaks. The oysters were very small that there was nothing to eat. There was a lot of oil in tomatoes with mozzarella. Both of us ordered ribeye steaks. I can say one thing to describe, my husband cooks steaks much better than in this restaurant. In addition, there were a lot of lives in my steak and it was tough. And what we really didn't like about the tablecloths covered with paper. If you want to eat steaks, find better place. We won't go to this place again. Dinner for two without drinks and alcohol cost us over $200 and we didn't have any pleasure spending Saturday night dinner there. As a summary, the prices are high and the service and food are very poor. P.S. During our stay, the bartender talked very loudly with co-workers.
Nice place, very nice staff, but, honestly, we were a little disappointed with the steaks (Porterhouse)! The flavor was good, but my steak, on one side, had a bit of an "OFF" taste. I ended up cutting most of it off. ☹ And, one of the baked clams had a little bit of an "off" taste as well! The crab cakes were very good, LOVED the tartar sauce 😋 Spinach Sautee was DELICIOUS, French Fries and Mashed Potatoes were very good! It wasn't busy and we waited a bit for our food, we didn't mind, but then were disappointed that the steaks weren't as we expected!!
Food was half decent. However, we came at around 10 minutes to 8 on a Sunday and they told us the kitchen closed at 8:30 so hurry up and order quickly. We found that very rude and the website says the place is open until 9:00 so why is it earlier? Then because they wanted us to hurry, they didn't even offer any dessert or coffee after the meal at all. And there was no drinks menu, you had to just ask for what you would want. Do they not want to make money? Not to mention that they had a love band in the bar area, which would be nice, and the music was good, except they were super loud. Luckily we were in the dining room at the back but it was still very loud.
This place was charging a $40 minimum per person at a table and a $25 minimum at the bar. It seems that they probably did not tell the live band about this minimum or the band would have advertised with that information included. We traveled really far thinking that it would be a normal situation with a two drink minimum. It’s pretty unbelievable in Bay Ridge. You hardly ever have a minimum in Manhattan for this kind of situation. Plus they were not friendly. Never going back.
